evile: howdy :)
SkyeDS: mornin :)
SkyeDS: I'm at a loss as exactly what words to search on to find
private facilities for events
evile: *nod*
evile: I occasionally drive on a backroad and see some sign that
says 'have your event here'...but never write down any contact info.
SkyeDS: no reason for you to
evile: other than it does come up in conversations w/ HFS, poly,
pagan event planning folks.
SkyeDS: but you have better sense than to involve yourself in
planning :)
evile: or something.
SkyeDS: Paulie made it over to Connie's this morning and was having a
good time with his new pack
SkyeDS: he's a pretty little thing
evile: He is a sweet dog.
evile: I'm glad he is getting along with the others :)
SkyeDS: he's still very depressed though
SkyeDS: he looks to be some mix of either Aussie or Sheltie, and
Welsh border
SkyeDS: very loyal
evile: *nod* It will probably take him a while to settle in.
evile: It helps that there are other dogs around.
evile: I'm ready for my nap! Goodie days always do this to me. You'd
think i'd learn...
SkyeDS: I would be so happy to work from home
evile: I wouldn't get anything done. Unfo I just dont' have the
discipline.
evile: Have you heard anything back from the Rockdale chamber, btw?
SkyeDS: matter of fact, no
evile: interesting.
SkyeDS: I may go in early one morning to pay dues and see if anyone
says a word
evile: *nod*
evile: work is annoying me today, but at least it's passing quickly.
Can't wait for tonight--Siouxie! & Rio's coming up again :)
SkyeDS: :)
evile: I will definitely need a nap after work.
evile: I can't stay up late like I used to :P
evile: the IKP is looking interesting. I bet people will fuss too
much over the $30, though.
SkyeDS: oh hell yeah
SkyeDS: sineater wants to know if he can call your cell phone
SkyeDS: he has no IM access from Dell
evile: I don't have good signal, but he's more than welcome to try...
SkyeDS: vas ist number again?
evile: 698 2855
SkyeDS: he'll try in a few minutes
evile: ok
SkyeDS: I suspect that Connie probably will want help with t he
initial vet visit
evile: ok, no prob
evile: good little talk w/sineater. sounds like Paulie is as skitzy as he
ever was.
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: made him a little frantic last night & this morning
evile: The only time I've seen him totally comfortable was when [brother A]
brought him, [The Rubber Pig] & the girls up to visit Lynn & Bob.
SkyeDS: I will go see him often, he's sweet
evile: He is a sweet dog.
SkyeDS: I'm going to make the CRW VIII Crat a list of central
fairgrounds
evile: Sweetie doesn't trust Paulie because of his skitzyness. Worries
that he's going to snap someday and bite someone. Hasnt done it
yet...and he's been in a lot of stressful, threatening situations
that I would think would trigger that behavior if he had it in him at
all.
SkyeDS: since it was a county fairground that they loved so much in
the first place
SkyeDS: well, I told sineater last night
SkyeDS: we'll put food out
SkyeDS: Connie will put food out
evile: I do NOT buy the 'paulie herding [The Rubber Pig]' into the corner' story
one damned minute, btw. Let alone the implied 'he made me miscarry'
bit.
SkyeDS: our shed has no doors on it
SkyeDS: he'll be fine
evile: *nod* I know. He did fine in New Mexico with much less.
SkyeDS: so, did she "miscarry"?
evile: Not yet. it was another bleeding scare.
SkyeDS: otherwise known as a period....
evile: what. ever. I don't care.
evile: it's the best possible outcome of this whole ungodly mess.
That and/or her kicking [brother A] to the curb.
evile: I am going with the assumption that the 'pregnancy' is a total
fake, anyway.
evile: When Chicken Little and the Boy Who Cried Wolf get married, ya
know? Eventually nobody is going to listen to all of their drama-
mongering.
SkyeDS: nope
evile: Oh well. [brother A] is a grownup. it's his life. I am just not going
to think about it.
SkyeDS: I wouldn't give Arthur or the girls up for any reason
SkyeDS: I don't care if I were quadriplegic
evile: nope.
SkyeDS: we'd just have to make a saddle out of a wheelchair with some
straps.
SkyeDS: and one with a perch
SkyeDS: even if I had to live in a tent
evile: now there's a mental picture...
SkyeDS: :P
evile: I'm with you though...the animals are not negotiable. They are
part of my life in a bigger way than any other human. I see them as
my gifts from God/dess, given to me for the span of their lives. They
are my responsibility for life.
SkyeDS: Larry, the very cute manager of Half Price on Guad, with the
silver hair and gray eyes, I told you about his bird.
SkyeDS: exactly, and they are the only tangible evidence I have that
I must have done something right, in this lifetime or some other.
evile: *smile*
SkyeDS: there is yet another new trailer out on the white trash place
evile: oh, lord.
SkyeDS: I keep telling sineater and Wayne, kerosene and matches, boys
evile: *sigh* i wish it was that easy...
SkyeDS: I've got a lot of brush to burn a nd so does Wayne, I told
him we ought to burn at t he same time from two different directions
so that they get smoked no matter what way the wind blows
evile: that would be fun :)
SkyeDS: Connie's planning on calling the health department yet again
SkyeDS: am letting her do it because she's on f irst name basis with
them by now
evile: What a hassle! But, yeah...hopefully when they hear enough
from one person, something will get done.
SkyeDS: last time the HD didn't do squat until the tank actually
overflowed onto someone else's property
evile: oh, nasty!
evile: ugh. Just found a LJ comment from Terri H. Her LJ comments are
often self-aggrandizing to an irritating degree. I did NOT ask "who
is NOT going to this?" I asked if anyone WAS. *grump*
SkyeDS: lol
evile: Oh well. I'm not going if I dont' know at least 1 other person
who is going.
evile: And at this point I'm both pathetically lonely & 'rich' enough
to pay someone's way if it means I don't have to go alone. (it would
have to be the right someone, however. I'm not quite to the point of
desperation where any old body will do)
SkyeDS: I could easily name at least one person both more pathetic
and more lonely than you :P
evile: um, I'm pretty sure I would not care to spend a weekend in
that person's company.
SkyeDS: and apparently neither does anyone else :P
evile: too bad, eh?
SkyeDS: I'm easily amused
evile: better than being easily bored, I suppose ;)
evile: There's a poly campout that same weekend, but the organizer of
it is a guy who gave me icky creepy vibes when I met him, so I don't
really wanna go, even if a few of my friends are.
SkyeDS: that zodiac quiz is pretty good
evile: I liked it :)
evile: Looks like time to throw paper & go for me.
evile: Icky out, be careful driving home.
*hugs*
SkyeDS: be careful, wet weather
SkyeDS: hugs :)
evile: sharing a brain cell again...
evile: *hugs*
evile: (clutter)
Sep. 13, 2004

evile: *hugs*
SkyeDS: hugs :)
evile: So, roughly 24 hours after calling sineater, [brother A] dumped the dog
in our backyard.
evile: No leash, no collar...
SkyeDS: sighs
evile: [brother A] left a msg on our machine around 5:30PM, nobody was home,
and dumped Paulie a couple hours later, nobody had been home to check
messages, and nobody was currently home.
SkyeDS: [The Rubber Pig] called right as I walked in the door at 8 pm Friday
night
SkyeDS: my parents had already been to the house to see me, and I
didn't get home in time
SkyeDS: because a prospective client wanted to talk for an hour and a
half
SkyeDS: and [The Rubber Pig] wanted me to drive back to Austin, right then
SkyeDS: and then [brother A] wanted us to drive to Austin Saturday, and was
told, we have out of town guests, not happening.
evile: ugh!
SkyeDS: I am bound and determined, that I am going to surgically cut
all drama from my life.
SkyeDS: hopefully sineater should have no problems picking Paulie up and
delivering him to Connie :)
evile: *nod* I'm on phone duty, will be slow until 12:30 or so...
evile: no drama is good.
evile: our in house system is incredibly buggy. It terrifies me.
SkyeDS: system = phone system?
evile: No, our in house interface between our job and the shitty
mainframe.
Just heard from an employer who hadn't gotten copies of decisions in
the mail. Looking it up on the in house, the address is correct,
printing out the decisions actually mailed, the address is wrong.
SkyeDS: oh man :(
evile: How are we expected to have any accountability when somewhere
between what WE type in and what gets printed out, some bizarre shit
happens that we have NO knowledge of or control over??
SkyeDS: (hugs)
evile: hate the job today, I really to.
SkyeDS: is half over?
evile: But I had a cool weekend, so I'm just going to blow it off.
evile: a bit more than half, maybe, even. I leave at 3 today :)
SkyeDS: that was my plan of action this morning too
SkyeDS: had a new experience this weekend, already looking forward to
expanding on it next weekend
evile: ? do tell
SkyeDS: I talked half a dozen people in Drandmir into being human
pells for us to run a mounted combat course
SkyeDS: so then all these journalism student photographers show up
and want pictures
evile: cool
SkyeDS: but by that time, no one there was in garb anymore but me
SkyeDS: so what they wanted, was me, on Jesse, running the course I
set up
evile: oh well
SkyeDS: I've never run a course on Jesse, and had not planned to any
time in foreseeable future
evile: good publicity for you anyway
SkyeDS: I figured, what the hell, so I did it
evile: awesome :)
evile: sineater knows that the dog is at Lynn & Bob's, not our house,
right?
SkyeDS: right
evile: OK
SkyeDS: or let me rephrase
SkyeDS: that's what I told him
SkyeDS: more than once
evile: OK
evile: I am taking the rest of the dog food over after work, so I'll
be at Lynns, and no telling when Sweetie will be home, so I just didn't
want sineater showing up at our vacant house after work & getting
peeved/confused.
SkyeDS: he says he's leaving at 5:30 to go over there
evile: Okeydoke.
evile: I'll be glad when that's all done. The crappy part is over--
getting [brother A] & [The Rubber Pig] to do their part. The rest should be fine.

Sep. 13, 2004

Some hoo-ha Friday in which [The Rubber Pig] called sineater & skye_ds around 9 pm to
say they were bringing Paulie up to Austin. (did not specify if they
were bringing him to Lynn's or our house) sineater called several times
in a tizzy, talked to Sweetie, who hung up on him when he would start to
talk to skye_ds in the bg.

Saturday, I ran some errands & then I got Jacob (sunshine) in G'town.
We went to a little fair on the square, saw some nice stuff, some
great & gorgeous glass stuff made by a very cute gal. We chatted
w/her a bit, then went to Austin, got Nolan & then we went to the
Alamo for RHPS tix for them, then the Bazaar for white face, where I
also found a great pair of glasses with batwings :) Then the 3 of us
went to Buffet Palace, then to my house for costume stuff & direx to
Niki's, then off to Niki's (actually, Pace's house, The INstitution),
where we sat & vistited, did make up & costumes, then went to Denny's
for coffee before the show. I broke my sangria glass during The Time
Warp. I narrated for Nolan & tried to explain what was going
on....which made me realize how truly nonsensical RHPS actually is.
Noticed, for the first time in the bazillion times I've seen it, that
at the dinner scene, Rocky keeps eating through the whole scene, even
long after everyone has realized that they were eating Eddie.

Sweetie called while I was at Niki's to say that he'd found Paulie in the
backyard--only 24 hours after [brother A] called to say he'd be dropping him
off! Sweetie & I both worried that Paulie would jump the rock fence, so
Sweetie took him to L&B's, leaving a bag and a half of dog food at home,
for some reason. Ugh. Inefficiency annoys me. But anyway, Paulie is
at L&B's now.

Sunday, Rio called around 10:30 to say she was in Austin. I wasn't
awake, but the callwoke me and I got up, showered, and dressed, then
Rio showed up. We chatted a bit, Jacob woke up too & we all had
coffee (except rio), then I tried to call over to E&A's, phone was
busy. Got online to see if A was online, no. Jacob, Rio & I went to
TinTinNio for lunch, then I tried again to call E&A, still busy.
Took Jacob back to G'town, then Rio & I went to the Austin Museum of
ARt. Aftewards, we went for drinks at Little City. She told me a bit
about her troubles w/Mike. I hope that once she's working again &
some of the money pressure is off, the relationship will improve. But
in the meantime, I told her to put aside money with every paycheck,
so that if she does end up having to leave she will have a little bit
to get her started with her own place & all.

And that was my weekend.

Got up this a.m., got to work & checked out LJ, and found the
steaming pile of drama between skye_ds & kaleon. What a trainwreck.

I can't even think about sineater being whipped & put in the big
birdcage. That...makes me sick.

Sep. 9, 2004

evile: hey :) How's everything?
SkyeDS: I got stuff accomplished this morning so I'm happy
evile: good :)
SkyeDS: not a hitch, and the girls were wanting me to play when we
got home. Took off across the pasture at a frolicking gallop, I
waved good bye, walked away, they came back and were tearing around
in front of me, because I wouldn't go out there with them
evile: aww.
SkyeDS: I do like to watch them play
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I won my first two ebay auctions last night
SkyeDS: some sniper ran it up $55.
evile: suck!
SkyeDS: still cheaper than the original set I wanted
SkyeDS: which I will still buy, maybe for xmas
evile: and still a freakin great deal...
SkyeDS: I showed sineater the white halter & collar set I bought for
Jesse. Told him, happy birthday, early
evile: aww.
SkyeDS: he never wants to know in advance what I got him, but I
figure, it's being delivered to the house, he's going to see them
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: can you post pics to lj?
SkyeDS: I think you can, right?
evile: yes.
SkyeDS: do you use an lj client?
evile: I don't think so...
SkyeDS: still looking around for how to put pics in a post
SkyeDS: ah, Faq 6
evile: Sharjinka was having a devil of a time with photos a couple
months ago.
SkyeDS: you have to load them to a webserver first
SkyeDS: which is no problem
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I spent all day yesterday uploading pics to yahoo and
organizing shared folders, very productive
evile: cool :)
evile: I was mostly unproductive yesterday. Green Chile fest at
CHuy's with [aunt L and uncle B], and then a bit of research for material
sources for the necklace I want to make (like I don't have 47 boxes
of beads & findings and whatnot already...just not what I need for
THIS necklace)
SkyeDS: Kelly LOVES Chuy's
evile: It's reliable.
SkyeDS: we used to go there quite a bit after Barad Duin, in these
big groups that seem to coagulate around me when I ask Kelly and the
kids if they want to hit Chuy's before we go home
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: parking usually good, understanding about the bird and the
horses, always good
evile: yeah.
evile: the most interesting thing on this year's green chile menu is
the green chile cheesecake. It was good.
SkyeDS: we were going to participate in their Xmas parade until I
realized they wanted $50 entrance fee
evile: oh. ew.
evile: I'm feeling cranky today. I would not go to poly dinner
tonight but I told Nolan I'd be his ride.
SkyeDS: nods. you might not feel as cranky later, and going might
actually make it better, it happens
evile: probably. all of the annoyances today have had to do with work.
SkyeDS: if I could just get one lesson a week scheduled reliably I
could work 36 hours/4 days here
evile: One claimant was trying so hard to find a job, "literarily"
sending 30-50 resumes a week!
evile: I can't imagine why someone hasn't snapped him up!
SkyeDS: rofl
evile: then there's preggo 350+lb coworker who has all these health
problems related to weight & pregnancy, and complains CONSTANTLY
about how miserable she is, yet ate at least a thousand calories
worth of fat, salt, and sugar for breakfast (starbux drink & mcd's
sandwich)
SkyeDS: lol I splurged on a McD's burger and fries after my morning
excursions and on the way into work. And I felt good that I got
lemonade and not Coke.
evile: you have no fetus to be damaged by caffeine, sugar, and
salt. eat whatever you want, IMNSHo
SkyeDS: I felt better about lemonade because of the caffeine/sugar
issue
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Diet Coke is nasty, doesn't have sugar, but is loaded w/
caffeine
evile: I have never seen that woman eat a vegetable or piece of
fruit. EVER. And she and I have worked together for YEARS now.
evile: Her doctor has flat out told her no caffeine, and there she
was sucking down a fattalatte with a ton of sugar, whipped cream, and
what-have you, and Sbux has the most caffeine of ANY coffee house
coffee.
evile: and, really, if she's going ot abuse her body so that she's
sick and I end up doing more work to pick up the slack, I do NOT want
to hear how sick and miserable she is. She is doing it to herself, I
have NO sympathy.
SkyeDS: I have enough bad habits to break, I am glad that I didn't
acquire coffee, beer, mayo, sour cream, ranch, etc
SkyeDS: although I still maintain that fat alone isn't the issue
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: apparently moderation isn't in her vocabulary at all anywhere
evile: nope. That kid's going to be born with the cardiovascular
system of a 40 year old.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: it really is sad.

SkyeDS: the nurse this morning commented on one of the clients having
no business owning pets
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: 31 pics, ack
evile: ?
SkyeDS: maybe I should have just settled for linking the whole ebay
page lol
SkyeDS: but I don't want people necessarily seeing what I paid
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: or running up the bids on the two pendings
evile: good point.
evile: OH no! Red X of death on your LJ entry!
SkyeDS: working on it
evile: *nod*
evile: I've had it where it looks fine to me, but nobody else can see
it. very big WTF moment.
SkyeDS: I decided just to go with a url
SkyeDS: people can find the correct album and peruse it on their own
a lot easier than putting 31 individual addresses in complicated code
evile: *nod*
evile: Oh, good news: we got a reprieve on the 'witnessing the birth'
nonsense--[The Rubber Pig] has been put on 'bed rest' (which of course explains
why she was 'at the grocery store' when [aunt L] called) and is thinking
of having a C section with this one.
SkyeDS: [brother A] left a message saying she was bleeding and that's why
they hadn't brought Paulie
evile: Oh, good, at least he's keeping YOU posted. I haven't heard
from him since he left a message Monday.
SkyeDS: I think that was part of the message he left us late Monday
evile: bi. zarre. He called around 5 Monday and said he was thinking
of coming up, except it was raining, so he might not.
SkyeDS: I would have to ask sineater exactly when the msg was left, and
the wording, and he'd probably have to check the call registry to
verify time
evile: Does he think we don't talk to each other, so tells each
person a different lie?
SkyeDS: that sounds like a [The Rubber Pig] thing (although I don't know [brother A]
well enough, maybe that's an [brother A] thing too, who knows?)
SkyeDS: I remember sineater mentioning the bleeding thing because we
thought she was setting up for a "miscarriage"
SkyeDS: and I thought it was probably just a period.
evile: [brother A] tells people what they want to hear, spins stories so as
to highlight a point he wants to get across....but he's never lied
outright like this before [The Rubber Pig].
evile: Well, I have mixed feelings about a miscarriage.
evile: (assuming there is actually a pregnancy..)
evile: her last episode of bleeding/ER-going was about ....hmm...28
days ago.
evile: Can you actually have sex and give birth 3 times and be so
dirt fucking ignorant that you don't know what a period is??!??!
SkyeDS: I don't think it's ignorance
SkyeDS: I think it's willful stupidity
evile: What is WRONG with [brother A]?!??! Grrrr.
evile: Oh, also, [The Rubber Pig]'s medicaid was cancelled--seems that all her
last names set off their 'fraud' alerts & now I guess she's appealing
it.
SkyeDS: ROFL
evile: considering she only has one legal marriage on the books, I
can see why medicaid m ight think she is running a scam of some sort.
evile: what I wouldn't give to have access to THEIR databases..
SkyeDS: last time we called their office they were 3 years behind,
literally, answering questions over the phone
SkyeDS: and medicare was 2 years behind
evile: wow.
evile: I'd believe it--I temped there one summer & we had mandatory 9
hour days doing data entry all day.
SkyeDS: wonder what EAS is
evile: ? in what context?
SkyeDS: some sort of pagan group?
evile: Oh, I've seen references to that. But no idea.
evile: If Tony or Niki are at dinner tonight, I'll ask them. They are
both in CMA & might know.
evile: witchvox is so far unhelpful.
SkyeDS: yep
evile: oh! found it=Earth Spirit Alliance\
http://65.109.176.127/home.shtml
SkyeDS: I wonder if it's Earth Spirit Alliance
SkyeDS: jinx :P
evile: :P great minds think alike. That or we are sharing the last
remaining braincell.
SkyeDS: I looked up Harvest King
evile: *nod*
evile: Now I remember, ESA was the very wierd & disorganized bunch
who solicited me out of the blue for a spring festival about a year
ago or so.
evile: The solicitation was addressed to 'spiritual seeker' At the
time I was worried that CMA had sold my info to someone.
evile: Then I looked at the organizers and realized that Loke E
Coyote had probably sold HIS mailing list to them, since he appears
to be a member /bigwig of ESA
SkyeDS: noticed the usual "I need help finding sites for CRW" is
starting back up
SkyeDS: the last site was just fine
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and there are lots of good SPs but noooo
evile: I am beginning to see the wisdom of having one person/group do
CRW every year, so that the wheel need not be re-invented endlessly.
SkyeDS: they say the first CRWs were best
SkyeDS: interestingly enough those were run by Drandmir (specifically
Nezzerin and Rue)
SkyeDS: Rue isn't officially Drandmir but he spends as much time
there as his official home of Silver Spire
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: lol well J ought to enjoy Harvest King, there's a sacred sex
workshop going on
SkyeDS: maybe he'll finally get laid and quit whining about it
SkyeDS: I doubt he'll ever figure out that driving your only source
of sex away with bad behavior wasn't a bright thing for a nympho to do
evile: *grinz* It does sound interesting, but Niki's party is that
weekend.
evile: Maybe I'll go to their BDSM weekend in April, if the group
lasts that long.
evile: they used my 2 fave words: 'fire play'....very tempting.
SkyeDS: wonder what their pet policy is
evile: I can't find one.
SkyeDS: me neither, w hy I'm wondering :P
evile: other than that, seems like a C&P from CMA's
SkyeDS: they seem to have a self proclaimed Strega, I might write him
and ask out of curiosity
SkyeDS: but it isn't like I have time to pursue pagan stuff right now
anyway
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: as it is we have to consider nixing one event for the
biannual CBar trail ride
SkyeDS: events are cheaper than the trail ride
evile: yeah....
SkyeDS: on the other hand we're going to 8 events this fall, surely
we could sacrifice 1
SkyeDS: and the trail ride is more expensive in part because they
keep us fed. and well fed might I add.
evile: true.
SkyeDS: but if there's a pagan group that will allow pets to
festivals, I'd find that useful knowledge
evile: yeah, just for future reference :)
SkyeDS: I emailed them to ask.
SkyeDS: alternatively I could submit myself as a merchant (selling
rides and readings)
evile: *nod* this is true.
SkyeDS: I'd rather not vend.
SkyeDS: it's a money vs having fun thing
SkyeDS: making money is good, but it isn't as much fun as riding
myself
evile: I know this feeling :)
SkyeDS: you would think we could do both
evile: not me.
SkyeDS: but usually there isn't time
SkyeDS: usually one trip around the site draws enough business to
keep us the rest of the day
evile: yeah.
evile: I think you've got part of the right answer going: HAVE STAFF.
SkyeDS: three animals, three pair of hands is usually good
SkyeDS: and the boys are very good natured about my dictatorial self
evile: *nod*
evile: I dont' work well enough with others to have staff.
SkyeDS: still waiting on Calena from Ingleside to decide whether
we're just doing demos or vending
SkyeDS: truthfully I'm not sure whether we'll go or not, it will be a
money thing (isn't it always)
evile: yeah
SkyeDS: if doing demos means I get to go, and not pay entrance, and
have the critters there, AND ride all day rather than share, I'm down
with that
SkyeDS: might actually beat vending
evile: yeah
SkyeDS: the cost of the booth is chicken feed, specially split two
ways
evile: I loved the beach in the off-season. I don't know if I would
have liked hanging out all day at Ingleside.
SkyeDS: but the insurance she wants will probably be $$$
SkyeDS: I don't understand what people don't get about what Texas law
says.
SkyeDS: particularly her and the lawyer she works for, oh well
evile: that's gotta be a hassle...
SkyeDS: when I can afford it, and when I start doing enough
equestrian business, I will get insurance
SkyeDS: but in the meanwhile, what's the point
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: you used to do a lot of stuff at Natural Magick, their
gatherings seemed cool
evile: *nod* Sweetie being out of work shifted a lot of financial
responsibilities on to me. No $ for booth fees, supplies, etc. last
year or 2
evile: Finally getting out of the hole.
SkyeDS: I've been giving thought to not claiming the Ranch as a
business
SkyeDS: that way I don't have to prove a profit 2 out of every 7 years
evile: *shrug*
SkyeDS: even though losses would mean less taxes out of working for
Hugh
evile: I haven't been in it 7 yrs yet, will burn that bridge when I
come to it.
SkyeDS: already got a bite out of taxes because I'm an indie driving
126 miles every day at 37.5 cents per mile
SkyeDS: most businesses have to show a profit 3 out of 7 - ranches
are 2 out of 7
SkyeDS: and if I don't report it as business I don't have to report
the money I get paid (which is always in cash or by check) and
something tells me, my clients aren't keeping track to be sending me
1099s
evile: yep.
SkyeDS: none of them want receipts so I just quit bothering
evile: I found that as well.
evile: I just got off the hook for taking Nolan to dinner. Now it's
just going to depend on what I feel like after I get home & do my
little after-work routine.
evile: I love Launchcast. I've discovered so many new bands that I
love. Well, not NEW, but stuff I somehow managed to miss
evile: If you've never listened to Dead Can Dance, I recommend.
Especially their albums in the mid-80's.
evile: I don't know why I didn't hear them back then. Or maybe I did
and never realized who I was listening to. I dunno. I was more into
punk & industrial than goth back then.
evile: I know the label 'goth' offends you, but I think you'd like
Dead Can Dance.
SkyeDS: the title itself doesn't offend me
SkyeDS: people who don't know what the word really means offend me
evile: *nod*
evile: or at least realize that it not only refers to a pop culture
phenomena of the 80s AND a time period considerably before that :P
evile: 'sokay--Punk originally meant someone's prison bitch.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: and fag originally meant a piece of firewood, then it got
adopted to mean cigarette, and from there to homosexual male.
SkyeDS: etymology is fun :)
evile: hee. yup.
SkyeDS: they allow pets AND would let me vend pony rides
SkyeDS: awesome
evile: excellent :)
evile: Too bad it's the same weekend as Niki's party.
evile: I really wish Time would do what it's supposed to do.
evile: Then again, I might be going to first weekend of TRF and
camping, so i might not want to camp 2 weekends in a row, anyway,
esp. since ESA seems to be 'tent only'
SkyeDS: We welcome vendors. For this next festival, vendor
fees are waived. Not sure what they will be in the
spring. Probably $5-10 plus regular admission. Spots
on vendor row are first come first served, but we got
plenty of room. If you bring a pony, you'd be
responsible for cleaning up after it and you might
want to do liability waivers. You can chuck the pony
pies in a pile by our composter, we just don't want
land mines in the field.

evile: excellent.
SkyeDS: Well behaved pets are OK. They should be either real
well trained or on a leash. Clean up after your pets.
Stay in control of your pets. If an animal starts to
cause a problem, we may have a holding pen set up, or
you may be asked to remove it.

SkyeDS: both of those responses from your friend Loki
evile: um....not really a friend, but Ok.
SkyeDS: you know him at any rate (I don't or I don't think I do)
evile: they seem like reasonable policies that, if enforced, will
ensure that everyone has a nice time and only the irresponsible pet
owners will be punished if an incident occurrs.
SkyeDS: that's what CMA started out doing
evile: hopefully it will work out better for ESA folks.
SkyeDS: what worries me in a minor way is that if we go to harvest
king someone will think I'm follwoing him
evile: to me, aint much diff between camping next to a screaming
toddler or a screaming parrot...I wouldn't want either, but ther are
reasonable ways to deal and unreasonable ones
evile: I guess you could talk it over with sineater & sonar0m & see what
they feel like doing that weekend--you've got an SCA thing same time,
so there are options :)
SkyeDS: right, and again, is more expensive
SkyeDS: HFS people need to go to other shit and see how much more
expensive it is before they start whining
evile: I agree.
SkyeDS: might drum up bidness though
evile: yup
evile: gotta spend money to make money, yadda yadda
evile: that + the Vegas Creed "Never bet more than you can afford to
lose" seem to be effective business strategies. Hard lessons from
hindsight, that's for goddamn sure...
evile: booths at Wimberley trade days are about 2 grand, from what I
saw. I don't know if there's a booth fee on top of that, but...wow.
SkyeDS: most the time make better money when I'm not trying to, odd
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: with 8 possible SCA events surely it won't hurt to miss 2
evile: Yeah.
evile: I usually try to decide by what's the most 'special' among the
several options. If it's an annual event or a 1-off, it's priority,
whereas if it's monthly its #2, weekly is #3, etc. Priority
occasionally gets moved around if there's a person involved who I
really want to see, etc.
SkyeDS: logical
evile: Well, I try to be. Sometimes I still get overwhelmed & don't
know what to do with myself.
evile: But I'm getting better about not letting overwhelmed-ness lead
to doing NOTHING when presented with too many choices
SkyeDS: I would have gone to Drandmir this weekend but not with my
parents here
SkyeDS: they won't want to go with
evile: *nod*
evile: I had intended to go, but got a late start to the bead show &
then ended up being there for a LONG time!
evile: I may be in San Antonio this upcoming Sun. Rio wants to get
together but we have no plan as of yet.
evile: she had a job interview today, I should probably give her a
call this evening.
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: tis your time
evile: yup.
evile: *hugs* take care of you! :)
SkyeDS: you too! :D

    Sep. 3, 2004

    evile: Tgif! FINALLY!!!!
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: I am NOT going to watch that horrible woman squirt out a baby.
SkyeDS: please don't tell me Aunt L or your Mom is gonna
evile: I have no idea. I guess it'll be up to them to decide if the
    trauma is worth it.
SkyeDS: I was thinking about movies, Sun v Mon
SkyeDS: your days are nice and slotted and timed
evile: What a godawful attention whore. is there no depth to which
she will not sink? If she wants to be 'natural' she should dig a hole
and go in there and have her baby all by herself.
SkyeDS: I will be up probably past midnight on Saturday night, my
lessons won't happen until after I"m up and functional Sunday, who
knows when that will be, and karen wants to ride afterwards
SkyeDS: so if we want to do nice time slots, that would make Monday.
SkyeDS: I'm with Nikiyoy. I don't want to see myself.
    SkyeDS: don't show me pictures.
SkyeDS: and don't put the goddamned bloody raisin in my arms with the
    cord still attached.
evile: yup. that whole thing is just..ew.
evile: Do you want to look at show times Sunday evening or MOnday
    for movies,or just Monday?
SkyeDS: we can go on Sunday but I can't guarantee when, although I
    would think later.
SkyeDS: but I know travelling on Monday will suck, but that doesn't
    bother me so much
    SkyeDS: I have backways
evile: Yeah...you just have to keep an eye out for the drunks.
SkyeDS: would Monday be ok? or, what time were you thinking Sunday?
SkyeDS: I wanted to see Potter and Shrek personally
SkyeDS: Hugh said King Arthur was ok, but I don't think I like their
    treatment of it already
evile: I'm looking at the Chronicle now. I could see any of those.
evile: Do you want to try a double feature, or just 1 movie, or ?
    SkyeDS: at least 2 :P
evile: Looks like harry potter is a long-ish movie.
    SkyeDS: they usually are
SkyeDS: the last one was to die for, Jason Isaacs, Alan Rickman,
    Kenneth Branagh
evile: Shrek at 11 and HP at 1 might work, or is that too early?
SkyeDS: nothing is too early Monday :)
evile: and then maybe if we feel crazy, king arthur at 6:50?
    SkyeDS: we are so bad
    evile: bad?
SkyeDS: last time we went to see two, we only paid for one
evile: I think that's pretty common practice. Personally I like to
save the ticket stubs. which means I gotta buy a ticket.
SkyeDS: that's the first time I've ever done t hat
evile: *nod* I think I used to do that when I was a kid. I can't
remember. I know we used to sneak candy in.
evile: and I still do that from time to time.
SkyeDS: my purse is too small for that
evile: I have more than 1 purse for just such emergencies :)
evile: I usually just carry my 'wallet on a string' but I have a
backpack-looking purse for when I need to carry STUFF
    SkyeDS: I should do that
SkyeDS: used to carry in stuff all the time
evile: I can't carry a purse all the time, I stash too much crap &
    give myself bursitis.
SkyeDS: I wouldn't carry one at all, just my wallet, but sineater bought
me a nice little black leather number
    evile: *nod*
evile: I love shopping for shoes & purses.
SkyeDS: hate to admit it, but I love shopping period
    SkyeDS: for anything
evile: I hate trying on clothes.
SkyeDS: and what's really cool is to get paid to spend someone else's
    money on horses
evile: now that is fun. :)
evile: Oh, I don't know if they're telling people anything yet, but
U--- miscarried her baby. Uncle Bubba is crushed. I can't imagine
how cruel it would be to force them to see [the rubber pig]'s 'blessed even't
    after that.. :(
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: but of course [the rubber pig] has no empathy, it's all about HER and if
Bubba & [his wife] don't show up, they'll remain on the 'bad list'.
evile: I'm not going. I dont' care. If I have to book a cruise out
of the country during the week she's due, I will.
    SkyeDS: wish I could
SkyeDS: but she didn't invite me so not necessary
    evile: ...YET.
evile: [aunt L] predicts that the closer it gets to baby-time, the more
[rubber pig] will be trying to get in touch with people to secure baby gifts
    & etc.
    SkyeDS: I'm broke.
SkyeDS: nevermind the to do list I'm about to spend money on
evile: That or trying to farm out one or more of the older/less cute
    than a baaaaby kids
SkyeDS: I need toys for the purposes of teaching lessons, it's part
    of my livelihood
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: (damn I'm good when I want to rationalize something)
evile: I will spend a lot more on something I need for Magpies than I
    will on just myself.
SkyeDS: got too much to do with our newfound wealth, sorry
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: will be happy to send a nice card
    SkyeDS: shoebox greetings
evile: assuming they share their new address when/if they move. I am
thinking this move may be the 'break with [brother A]'s family' move.
SkyeDS: they want something from me, they'd better give me
    appropriate information
evile: [brother A] & [the rubber pig] were both really squirrely about giving out the
address to their last place. [aunt L] finally had to say something on the
phone about wanting to mail the girls some dresses.
    SkyeDS: for Jesse: http://www.elsuenoespanol.com/prod11.htm
SkyeDS: although I wonder if we couldn't put her in a set to match
    Ragi's
    evile: way cool!
evile: Maybe I should send [rubber pig] a shovel & tell her to start digging
her den, like a good little vixen...

    SkyeDS: ROFL
evile: hey,she says she wants to have her baby 'natural'--what's
more natural than the way animals do it?
    evile: :P
SkyeDS: I'll have the sixpack of morphine ot go please thanks
    evile: *nodnod*
evile: Maybe I should give the newly'weds' a microwave oven...that
I've modified so that it will sterilize them when they run it.
    SkyeDS: LOL
evile: I guess I'd have to give them a microwave stand, too, to make
sure that the waves hit at the right place...
evile: god knows [brother A] doesn't need it at head level, his brains are
    already cooked enough.
evile: You know, if I somehow got forced or guilted into seeing the
myrakul of brrth, I could have a lot of fun. Get very drunk. make
obnoxious comments. It could be amusing.
evile: another song from the De-Lovely soundtrack just came up on my
launchcast. I just love the music from that movie :)
SkyeDS: School of Rock had a good soundtrack
evile: *nod* THat was actually a cute movie. I had my doubts, but
    I 'm glad I saw it.
    SkyeDS: Vanity Fair looks good
SkyeDS: didn't realize it has Gabriel Byrne in it until last night
    evile: *nodnodnod!*
SkyeDS: he made a wonderful movie on his own called Into the West
evile: I heard about it but never saw it.
    SkyeDS: very good
    evile: I bet :)
evile: Oh, no, Jerry Springer filed an appeal :P
    SkyeDS: on what
evile: he got denied his unemployment! :P
evile: that's one of those unfortunate names the mother could not
have known was going to turn out poorly when the kid was born....
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: can you imagine? that would just suck SO much!
SkyeDS: Hugh has a lawyer friend whose last name is McSwindle
SkyeDS: no. it's Ed Mac Swindle
evile: heh. That's like the apocryphal "dewey, cheatham, and Howe"
    attorneys office...
evile: OMG--kaleon's finally writing in his LJ! What a mess!
    SkyeDS: my fault I'm afraid
SkyeDS: I told him when I told everyone else that I use it to post my
    calendar
evile: He certainly is unlikeable in print...
SkyeDS: he seemed so happy without me the first two times <shrugs>
evile: I wonder if he's trying to craft a persona with all of that
    tough guy nonsense.
SkyeDS: he's always crafting personas, I don't think he ever stops
evile: I don't like the new one much. guns and whores. ick!
    SkyeDS: that's begging for attention
SkyeDS: he isn't going to get it from me
    evile: I think so too.
SkyeDS: he wanted me to come by weeks ago and get my birthday present
SkyeDS: I don't even know why he bought me one
SkyeDS: we broke up at Valentine's
    evile: bizarre.
SkyeDS: so I told him when I could come by and he just couldn't fit
    me into his schedule
    SkyeDS: <shrug>
    evile: VERY bizarre.
SkyeDS: I spent 7 years fitting into his schedule
SkyeDS: 7 years, driving 450 miles one way, 9 months out of the year
SkyeDS: and now he can't drive his poor little POS car to Rockdale
    SkyeDS: boo fucking hoo
SkyeDS: tell me I don't give enough
evile: I guess he doesn't know how the mail service works? couldn't
possibly put your 'present' in a box and mail it...
SkyeDS: he doesn't have my address (so he says)
evile: and you won't give it to him? because you don't want him
showing up uninvited or stalking you or...?
SkyeDS: he hasn't asked for it
evile: (not like it isn't on your business webpage...)
    SkyeDS: there's that too
evile: sounds like a bunch of passive agressive BS to me.
    SkyeDS: <shrugs>
evile: Oh well. I am not sure he'll like the type of person he
attracts to his LJ with that kind of talk..but it might be fun to
    watch
SkyeDS: he wants to be Van Helsing...a cross between Blade and Don
    Juan. <shrug>
    evile: *blinkblinkblink* heehee. Ok.
SkyeDS: I thought, for a while, he was happy to be himself, but who
    knows
evile: *nod* I think at heart he is a decent person. He just has all
these issues & defense mechanisms and whatnot built up around him, so
nobody gets to know or like the real person underneath.
SkyeDS: for some reason I don't think he knows or likes the real
    person
evile: *nod* I can certainly sympathize, but that's just something
he's going to have to deal with on his own. Nobody can make you like
    yourself.
evile: back in the day, I used to do similar. put up a bunch of
facades and get all "oh, nobody likes/would like the real me"...but
never gave them a chance to know that person.
SkyeDS: I have that problem and I have never put up a facade on
    purpose
evile: *nod* rejection is hard. Everyone wants to be loved and
respected, no matter how much they act like it doesn't matter.
SkyeDS: so, meet at the theater, Monday?
evile: sounds like a plan :)
    SkyeDS: eat before? after?
evile: hm. good question. I'm trying to picture what's up thataway. I
think there's a Taco Cabana at Parmer (?)
SkyeDS: in the same center there's McD's, Taco Hell and Subway
evile: Oh, right! And I think a Gatti's up near the front.
SkyeDS: and yes there's a TC on Parmer/Mo
SkyeDS: and a not so good Chinese place
evile: any of those strike your fancy?
evile: the first movie is 11, so I might want something more
    breakfast-ish.
SkyeDS: any of them are good, ther'es also ChickFila close
    evile: ew. christians.
    SkyeDS: lol k
evile: How about Taco Cabana, it's easy & there ought to be enough
    variety in the menu
    SkyeDS: k
SkyeDS: what's our first show time?
    evile: 11.
    evile: I'm thinking 9:30-10?
SkyeDS: that would be breakfast ya?
evile: I imagine they'd still be serving breakfast then.
SkyeDS: 9:30ish it is then :)
    evile: cool.
evile: Well, time for me to blow this popstand. I am going to do my
best to make it to Rockdale festival-thingy tomorrow
    afternoon/evening.
    SkyeDS: need directions?
evile: How big can Rockdale possibly be? I've got a TX map, and
hopefully there will be a sign for the park/festival/stuff once I get
    there...I'm thinkin, anyway.
    SkyeDS: rofl
    SkyeDS: right
SkyeDS: downtown, Wolf park, across from mcvoy's feed and the train
    depot
evile: *nod* That should be easy enough to find. esp if you're
hanging with a bunch of SCA freaks :P
    SkyeDS: should be LOL
evile: okeydoke. see ya manyana :)
*hugs* have a safe drive home. watch out for the maniacs.
    SkyeDS: HUGS

    Sep. 3, 2004

[aunt L] got me from work yesterday & we went to Steinmart to look
around. She almost got a 'little baby hoochie mama' outfit for Yummy.
Thought better of it at the last minute,d arn.

Apparently L is back on the 'good list'. [the rubber pig] called to say she
is having [brother A]s baby at home with a midwife, wants it videotaped &
wants to be surrounded by A's and her family at the birth.
    Um...no. I wouldn't even do that for someone I liked (sister H, J-Law,
Dee, Rio) let alone somebody whose FACE I can't stand to see.

In actual (sad) family news, [uncle bubba's wife] lost the baby. L. says they are
not making any big announcements & probably won't want a card. Bubba
is taking it harder than [wife]. :(

Me to Miscarriage Gods: "NOOO! You took the WRONG ONE!!!"

*sigh* Life is unfair sometimes. One must continue to hope & assume
that God knows what s/he's doing & these things are happening for a
    higher purpose than we know.

    Aug. 31, 2004

evile: Phone duty SUCKED today!!! :P Saturday sounds like a good time.
    SkyeDS: hope so.
SkyeDS: hadn't really planned on the whole event but we'll see
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: no word from SA yet
    evile: *nod* quelle surprise.
evile: I just have a bad feeling that [rubber pig] is going to orchestrate
some drama which will end with Paulie in the pound and twist it
around so it's "our fault" (at least in her and [brother A]'s pointy lil'
    heads)
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: *sigh* she's pretty well unbeatable, far as I can tell.
    everything she wants, she's gotten.
    SkyeDS: kerosene/gas and matches.
evile: unfo she's got Kids and [brother A] thinks he loves her. I can't hurt
innocent people just for the sake of rooting out one evil thing... :(
evile: Having ethics & morals & a code of conduct is definitely
detrimental when dealing with a psychopath who will stoop to anything
    to win.
evile: even if her win involves the death of innocents, it does not
    seem to matter to her.
SkyeDS: kinda like, if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them
    evile: *nod*
evile: what's wierd is that she seems to desire the approval &
affection of [brother A]'s family....and yet all of her actions place her in
    direct opposition to achieving that.
evile: "if you refuse to love me, then I will kill you, [brother A], and his
    dog, too"
evile: I'm already in the 'dead' pile. so there's not much of
anything I can do at this point.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: I told you that [aunt L] called me yesterday and was all
like "have sineater call [brother A], bla bla" and I suggested that since [brother A] &
[rubber pig] were the ones asking the favor, they shoudl call YOU and not
vice versa. But maybe [aunt L] was right.
SkyeDS: before [aunt L] called there was a call from [brother A]
SkyeDS: on the registry, but he declined to leave a message
SkyeDS: and sineater can never get a hold of them when he calls them
    evile: That sucks.
evile: I suggested that [aunt L] might want to share [rubber pig]'s email addy
with sineater, as a way to avoid phone tag. The email addy I had for [brother A]
    is apparently no longer working.
evile: [rubber pig] was telling me at the picnic that her dad is dying & not
expected to live beyond the summer. Then [brother A] tried to kill himself.
Now Paulie is in danger. I think she needs a death before the end of
    summer...
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: She is crazy. Trying to figure her out just makes me hurt. I
    need to quit.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: I had phone duty so I get to leave at 3 today. It was 'Indians
call evilE' day today. At least they are polite folks...but damn,
each call was like 15 minutes. ugh.
SkyeDS: after my usual 2 hour commute and 9 hour workday I get to
prepare a waiver for this weekend and buy a polaroid.
    SkyeDS: am so tired.
    evile: I bet. :(
SkyeDS: what's on your agenda for this weekend?
evile: Nothing set in stone. Voyagers party Saturday night. Thingy in
Rockdale Saturday daytime. That's all I know of thus far.
    SkyeDS: really??? cool!!! :D
evile: I would do the blue hole hike Sunday but I bet the parks will
    be totally cram-packed.
evile: I am betting Sweetie gets invited to something at the last minute
& we end up doing that.
SkyeDS: I'm going to bet that I get flack over Saturday
    evile: ?
SkyeDS: "you need to get your priorities straight"
evile: oh, your parents not wanting you to attend the SCA event?
SkyeDS: well now it's not just a parade, it's a moneymaking
    opoprtunity, so
evile: That's the way I see it, too.
evile: You are doing it because it's great free publicity for your
business & it's important to be known in the community, moreso
because it's a small town & the opinions of your neighbors may make
    or break your business.
SkyeDS: and, I don't have to be there till 3:30 to set up
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: that's usually about the time it's too hot to work anyway
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: Marshall will probably be unhappy about the cancelled parade,
but he can still play at mounted combat, so maybe that will be ok
    evile: hope so.
SkyeDS: he did exceedingly well at his lesson lastnight
    evile: cool :)
evile: is he the one with the mom who is a freak?
    SkyeDS: yes
evile: is she getting any better?
SkyeDS: last night she was worse
SkyeDS: she had her husband with her
SkyeDS: I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not
    evile: ugh!!!
SkyeDS: I wonder if we aren't the best influence poor Marshall's got
evile: sad, but yeah. At least their presence didn't throw HIM off.
SkyeDS: two weeks ago, he'd ridden Jesse all of once, and was
terrified of her, and would not trot on Mirage
SkyeDS: last night he got on Jesse and the first thing he did was
    kick her into a trot
    SkyeDS: and stop her
    evile: awesome!
SkyeDS: that new bit is working wonders
    evile: *nod*
    SkyeDS: it's a training bit
    evile: aha.
SkyeDS: I didn't realize the bit that we inherited was so harsh
evile: aw. Glad she got a better one.
SkyeDS: sonar0m bought it for her with his prize money :)
SkyeDS: I keep telling people that if you have pigheaded horses, an
easier bit is the way to go and not a harsher bit
    evile: that's interesting.
SkyeDS: the reason some of them are pigheaded is because their bits
    hurt them
    evile: seems logical, no? :)
SkyeDS: need to get them floated and new coggins in the next two weeks
    evile: it's always something, eh?
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: I guess that's the way with everything. You own a house, car,
whatever... you get to do maintenance.
evile: (speaking of--Sweetie is all set to get a vacation house in Port
    Bolivar!! AAGH!
    SkyeDS: wow
evile: I'm sitting here going "property taxes, flood insurance,
    regular painting & weather proofing...aaa!"
    SkyeDS: sighs, amen
evile: We don't do enough for the house we have now, we don't need
another piece of property deteriorating on us.
SkyeDS: I'm looking forward to having a savings account again
    evile: *nod* I bet.
evile: I finally have found a system that works for me. It doesn't
pay as agressively on the debt as I have in the past, but it does not
leave me penniless & miserable, either. So I think in the long run,
    it will work better.
    SkyeDS: 10% is $500 a month
SkyeDS: I'm going to aim for twice that
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if we can save 12K a year that should go quite nicely toward
purchases like a full ton dually, 4H slant load with LQ, high $
    horses, etc
    evile: yup.
evile: I know our house needs lots of stuff...but I'd rather travel.
SkyeDS: you get to go home soon :)
evile: yup. I am making a run to the post office first, finally
getting some care packages off to J-Law, Rio, Dee, Holly, & Mom.
evile: welp, I should get to it. *hugs* hang in there, gal.
SkyeDS: wind to your wings bella :)

If you haven't heard yet: [brother A] attempted suicide early this morning.
The last info we have is tat he is in ICU in unstable condition. I
fell horrible I could and should have given him more support. If this
is what being honest results in.... [Mom] is beside herself with
anger and sorrow. We are leaving tomorrow morning to come down. I
pray to God [brother A] is alright.
    ========================

I hate to even think it, but [rubber pig] said her mom has tried to commit
suicide '14 times'....maybe this is what people do when they have to
hang out with [rubber pig] too much. she drives 'em to it.

    *sigh*

2408Re: [brother A]/[rubber pig] Mishegoss

    Aug. 2, 2004

    me to J-Law:

One thing that keeps coming into my mind for some
reason is [rubber pig] telling me (back when she was speaking
to me before I committed whatever unspeakable offense)
that she wasn't leaving the girls with her mother for
the summer while she recovered from her big surgery
because her mom has tried to commit suicide "14 times"

I am not sure why I keep thinking of that. Maybe
trying to set some blame on someone besides [brother A].
Maybe trying to suspect [rubber pig] of OD'ing [brother A] on her
Potassium chloride prescription...I dont know. That's
evil of me to think. But they do use Potassium
chloride for state executions. Injected, not in pill
form. but an OD will give one a fatal heart attack and
the body keeps processing the potassium so that if a
blood test isn't done right away, it doesn't show up.

Anyway, I suspect that just as with X and  M's
arrest & her stepdad & his new wife getting stuck with the kids and
Elaine's attempt when I didn't rush off to the
hospital right away...people are going to get mad at
me for not doing whatever they think I need to do and
    distract themselves from the pain/fear/disappointment
caused by the actual person who did something.

If everyone's going to be pissed at me anyway, I'd
rather put forth the least amount of effort. It's
possible that I might be able to be the Austin
Contact--stay at [aunt L]'s, feed her cats, call people,
email people, feed people, and do my duty that way. I
dunno. I never quite understand what is expected of me
in these helpless, horrible situations, so I never do
whatever it is and people always get mad at me.

god, I sound selfish, making this about me and not
[brother A]...but he's in the hospital, nothing I can do for
him, ya know? And I'd rather cry at home in private
than in the hospital in front of strangers.

    Sineater: hey
    evile: howdy.
Sineater: talked to dad.  [mom] has been talking to the icu nurse.
effectively cutting the rubber pig out of the loop.
    evile: excellent.
Sineater: [aunt L] and [uncle B] are en route
    evile: *nods*
Sineater: dad is geting things wrapped up up there and they are
    driving down
evile: I din't realize they were driving.
Sineater: they are. hoping to hitch down to sa with them
    evile: good plan.
Sineater: not sure... i feel that the most i could do is keep [aunt L]
away from [rubber pig]'s throat, and honestly i don't want to do that
evile: I don't think [aunt L] is going to misbehave. She hasn't yet.
Sineater: if the little bitch wants drama i think i am prepared to
    give it to her.
    evile: ugh.
Sineater: wonder now if my first impulse was right, just make her go
    away. coulda woulda shoulda
Sineater: [mom] is very mad at [aunt L]. dad says [mom] thinks [aunt L] was
too honest re the rubber pig
    evile: WHEN!?!?!?
Sineater: but can't see how she could not have been. frankly
evile: [rubber pig] feeds the kids and nods & smiles when [rubber pig] blathers.
    WTF!?!?
evile: oops, [aunt L] feeds the k ids
Sineater: don't know myself. i did not see it
evile: I think Mom is manufacturing shit.
Sineater: [mom] said something happened towards the end of the visit.
    i don't know what though
    evile: ?
Sineater: maybe she and [aunt L] got into it over the rubber pig?
    speculation
evile: I have no idea. Things seemed pleasant, other than whatever
[brother A] & [rubber pig] were mada at me about.
Sineater: was there more to sunday than just the comment and [brother A]
    getting mad about it?
Sineater: i know [aunt L] was mad about them being late, i doubt she
would have done more than mention it though
evile: Not that I know of. They showed up and ignored me, so I left.
Then he called THursday (after his big blowup talk with dad) and
wanted to talk about "what happened Sunday"
evile: SHE DID NOT MENTION IT AT ALL!
evile: When [brother A] asked what was wrong with me Sunday, I said "well,
you were 4 hours late and then you ignored me. I thought it was rude
    and I left"
Sineater: and i don't think it was just an oversight that the rubber
pig didn't say goodbye to me, i could see she was miffed at [brother A] for
talking to me for so long, and i think she reamed him on the way home
    for it
evile: And then he said "We're not coming up Friday at all!" and hung
    up
    Sineater: nod, remember that
Sineater: not everybody in the world can just smile and nod when they
see shit like this going on, and i think it's unfair to expect
    everybody to do so
Sineater: however i think it is [brother A] who expects that.
evile: I follow their lead. If tehy walk in and do not say hello or
even make eye contact, I'm not going to force conversatin.
Sineater: i agree completely, same here
evile: I'll be interested to find out if he od'ed on potassium
    chloride (her scrip)
Sineater: icu said his condition is unstable, he apparently took
every pill he could find in the house
Sineater: probably including her happy stash of painkillers. i do not
believe she is in as much pain as she says she is, but i do indeed
believe she likes her pain pills
Sineater: just like rush limbaugh! setting a moral example for the
rubber pigs of the nation to follow
    evile: Ugh.
evile: I'm sorry once you have a baby your life isn't your own
anymore, which means it's not yours to end.
evile: And I know if I actually see [brother A] that's what I'll tell him,
and then oh joy I get to be the big bag of shit againn
Sineater: well in her little mind, her life is hers, and her babies
    accessorize it.
Sineater: there are better ways that you can put it that say the same
thing. like "please think about the children before you do something
like this again" or have one of the girls just say, "daddy, please
    don't leave me"
evile: I know that. And [brother A] is an accessory, too. but this baby is
HIS and he needs to pull hsi head out of his ass and grow up and be a
    fucking parent now.
Sineater: but you won't have to say it. the psychiatrist that
evaluates him before release will say all this and more :)
Sineater: right now i just think she needs to go. now. quickly.
Sineater: so i wonder if it's a good idea at all for me to go down
    there
evile: not that easy anymore. There is the issue of the baby due in
March, which she & [brother A] say is HIS.
Sineater: sigh. well... i was not clear-headed enough to make a good
evaluation of whether she is pregnant or not. she may very well not
be. she told kathy she has had 14 miscarriages
Sineater: a number which is a little alarming, unless you factor in
drama. "oh i skipped a period, i must be pregnant!"
evile: she likes that #. Apparently her mother has had 14 suicide
    attempts
    Sineater: gasp! swoon!
    Sineater: oh?
    evile: no shit right.
evile: yes, which is why she didn't want to leave the kids with her
mom during/after her 'big surgery' earlier this summer. and how L&B
came to be stuck with them.
Sineater: "oh i had a preiod again! i must have miscarried!"
    evile: ick.
Sineater: where is her father in all this? i wonder
evile: Jovial yet clueless is the impression I get.
    Sineater: sigh.
evile: You saw the way she talked to him, I would play like that too.
    Sineater: nod... nod
evile: If he actually dared to have an opinion, she'd probably rip
him apart & kick him out of his grandchildrens' lives.
evile: I know the 'children as blackmail' game all too well. I won't
    play it anymore.
Sineater: and i'm sure she threatens that on a regular basis
Sineater: nod, and think you are right not to
evile: sure. it's all about getting her own way.
evile: and the kids are not people, they are extensions of herself,
so why s hould she care
Sineater: was hoping to at least have enough time to be able to help
    da
oh shit. i had planned to talk to dad to try and help [brother A] and dad
communicate. i mean eventually it would have fallen to shit, right?
likely, but the rubber pig couldn't wait i guess
Sineater: did you and [mom] get into a fight before she left?
evile: yeah. Notice that the people Al & [rubber pig] cut out are the ones
who would not blow sunshine up their butts
evile: Mom & had our tiff right after I got off the phone with [brother A]
    on Thursday afternoon/evening
    Sineater: oh?
evile: And apparently [brother A] and Dad had THEIR tiff right before [brother A]
    called Austin. Pecking order. no?
evile: I can't believe people are going to say shit about [aunt L]. Fuck
that. I am and was genuinely unsympathetic/uninterested, but [aunt L] has
been nothing but kind and accomodating for her, her diseased bastard
offspring, and full-o-shit [brother A]...this WHOOLE TIME
Sineater: they apparently had a fight over the phone shortly before
he made the attempt, as well
    evile: who isthey?
    evile: [brother A] and who?
Sineater: i am backing away from that for the moment. there is
something going on between [aunt L] and [mom], and i haven't seen it, so
for the moment i will try and talk reason to everybody
Sineater: oh sorry. [brother A] and dad.
evile: the attempt was at some ungodly hour this a.m., I thought?
evile: Call me at 4 a.m. and see what the fuck you get, boyo.
Sineater: nod, this was last night, fairly late
    evile: Oh, ok.
    Sineater: not 4 am though
    evile: ugh.
Sineater: 4 am??? did she wait???
Sineater: if there was any delay, if she waited or "jsut didn't
notice" and [brother A] suffers permanent damage as a result, i will kill
her and i will not be pleasant about it.
evile: I don't know. All I know is [aunt L] called this a.m. about 7:45
to say that [rubber pig] had called to say [brother A] was in the hospital. [aunt L] &
[uncle B] then left for SA afte rthat.
evile: Then I got email from Dad maybe 9 ish to say that it was a
suicide attempt and they are leaving tomorrow a.m. for TX.
evile: And that's all I know, all I've heard.
Sineater: am i overreacting to want her completely out of the picture
    at this point?
evile: I was thinking either [rubber pig] poisoned him, OR she has seen this
enough because of her mom that she instructed [brother A] on exactly what to
do & how much to take to make it look serious but not kill himself. I
know that's wrong & evil for me to think.
Sineater: and i just don't have the funds to bribe her to run away to
milano... guess it's the garrote, then. well for starters
evile: Yeah, but what about those poor little diseased, scruffy,
    messed-up little bastard girls?
Sineater: i don't know. i don't think she is one for action that
direct so i doubt she would have poisoned him. instruction i don't
    know.
    Sineater: umm... medical experiments?
Sineater: sorry about that last. the girls are charming and could at
least maybe grow up to be happy... maybe her family could step up to
    the plate? who knows...
    evile: yup.
evile: The sawyers should/could at least take the oldest. It's pretty
    obvious she is actually Trey's.
Sineater: there is always adoption, although the state child services
are hopelessly retarded and often harmful
    evile: yup.
Sineater: oh yeah, i coluld -really- see lamar doing that...
    evile: you never know.
    Sineater: shrug
evile: I dont' know how much you do/don't know about Lamar & that
crowd...I really dont' think he's as much of a bastard as you're
    thinking he is.
Sineater: i certainly hope not, really
evile: I hope dad doesn't buy into the 'blame [aunt L]' bullshit
evile: This is all [brother A] and maybe a tad of [rubber pig]. [aunt L] has been a
rock through every stupid mess [brother A] has ever made for himself.
Sineater: i don't know. he says [aunt L] can be vicious when she wants to
be. i don't think even [mom] really thinks that [aunt L] not liking the
rubber pig could drive [brother A] to suicide
evile: who knows? Mom's memory isn't so great.
Sineater: i think that [brother A] and [rubber pig] expecting everyone to just
smile and say "oh how lovely" when they run off and get married by
the power of the magical internet is ridiculous. if i had been there
i would have probably been visibly pissed as well, would have felt
    used and manipulated
evile: well, not only that, but the multiple getting rid of paulie
attempts, the 'our apartment is closing' story, the castles in teh
clouds, [rubber pig]'s going to work while [brother A] makes cartoons, oh no, sh'es
going to go to School while he makes cartoons, oh, no they're both
going to work now, bla bla.
Sineater: and i can put up with it better than i used to, but sorry,
there comes a point where i would have to pull one of them aside and
    tell them how i felt
evile: And every new story was/is just as 'true' as the one they just
told, 1 day ago 10 minutes ago, whatever.
Sineater: [rubber pig] is not going to work a damn day if she can possibly
    avoid it
    evile: well, exactly.
    Sineater: "oh my back"
evile: I just got really tired of hearing all these stories. We're
going to save Sunken Gardens, I'm having life-threatening surgery,
[brother A] is going back to school, I'm going back to school, we're going
to buy a house, bla bla
Sineater: then get permanent goddamn disability. my mom did. oh but
gee, they make you get examinations for that, and oh all those
doctors are biased, and the administration is just out to get us and
    blah blah blah
evile: Chicken Little marries The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Your brain just
gets tired of trying to make sense of all these conflicting lies &
    stories
Sineater: i would not give a shit and would be happy to say "have
fun" except a) there are kids involved, b) they do a lot of it at the
expense of the family and c) IT'S THREATENING [brother A]'S LIFE
evile: Oh, did [rubber pig] tell you, in addition to her mother's 14 suicide
attempts, apparently her father is not going to live through the end
of sumer. he's 'very ill' ([rubber pig]'s story)
Sineater: see she needs a third man, to make the money. one to take
care of the kids full time, one to take care of her full time, one to
    schlep and toil
evile: she's just not cute or interesting enough to have that kind of
harem, sorry. I can't imagine her having much of a golden cooch after
    pushing out 3 cuntdrops
Sineater: not end of summer, but he's only got a few more years at
    most
    Sineater: uh... yeh.
evile: Well, according to [rubber pig], hes going to die any day now. What BS
Sineater: ahh. which is why she treats him so repectfully and lovingly
    evile: yeah.
Sineater: signing off for a bit. feel free to call if you need.
    ***HUG***
evile: *hugs* keep me posted :)

    Aug. 2, 2004

evile: Long time no chat. Catch me up! CRW? First meeting with [rubber pig]?
    How is you?
SkyeDS: um, how is [brother A]?
    evile: I don't know.
    SkyeDS: sineater on phone, brb
SkyeDS: [dad] and [mom] will take sineater to SA with them on their way
    thru.
SkyeDS: I will go with if invited, but I'm not going to count on that.
evile: They are flying in to Austin? wierd. But OK....
    SkyeDS: driving
    evile: ooh, yuck.
SkyeDS: so apparently something went down this weekend.
    evile: I guess so.
SkyeDS: the polarization seems to be between [mom] and [aunt L], and of
course the attempt happened right after an argument with [dad].
evile: I don't know about 'right after'...it was Thursday, I think.
SkyeDS: I think they had another one.
SkyeDS: but I don't know for sure.
evile: but ...I can't do jack shit for [brother A] & don't want to do jack
shit for [rubber pig]. So I'd rather hear bout CRW and/or your first
    imprssion of [rubber pig].
SkyeDS: the first impression thing probably didn't go well.
SkyeDS: the instructions were bad, we were half an hour late, I
thought that would be blamed on me, so I stressed out
SkyeDS: and between stressing out and biochemical insanity (pms), my
neck went out of whack, so on went the collar and the tears I
    couldn't get control of.
evile: [aunt L] gave me bad direx to that Trudy's the first time too. I
kept telling her "across from spider house" in hopes she'd mention
    that to y'all.
SkyeDS: although I think everybody thought the tears were over the
collar so I just let them think that.
evile: *nods* yeah. said you looked like you were in pain.
SkyeDS: and for some reason I thought it was going to be some
combination of you, [mom], [sister H], & [aunt L]
SkyeDS: I wasn't expecting [rubber pig] & Co.
evile: nope. I had to work half days all day.
SkyeDS: she was fairly quiet at the table
    SkyeDS: no one upmanship storeis
evile: And [rubber pig] & [brother A] called & had DRAMA Thursday evening with me,
so it was not known for sure if they'd come or not.
SkyeDS: on the other hand, I thought it rather strange from the
outset that [k/mom] would ask me for a horse story, and after I gave
one, then [sister H] would ask for one
SkyeDS: so that the whole meal turned into one horse story after
    another.
evile: [rubber pig]'s oldest is into horses bigtime.
    SkyeDS: yes.
SkyeDS: but then it occurred to me, that maybe it was so [rubber pig] would
    have no fodder for oneupmanship.
SkyeDS: since she can't one up what she can't do.
evile: I think they were trying to find some commonalities for you &
[rubber pig]'s bunch...but you may be right about the one-up thing.
SkyeDS: maybe it was (consciously or unconsciously) we'll let Skye
talk and that will keep [rubber pig] quiet (lol ... I think maybe).
evile: I think I heard that [rubber pig] just grabbed the person nearest her
and that was her 'audience' for the morning.
SkyeDS: sineater said her behavior at [aunt L]'s was obervedly different than
    at the table.
evile: Last 2 times I've seen her, she hasn't said anything to me or
    even made eye contact.
SkyeDS: I found it interesting that she wore a midriff baring choli,
    dupatta and skirt to breakfast.
SkyeDS: her father is religious/clergy isn't he?
evile: because she's pregnant & did not want anything touching her
stomach. Yes, her father is a rabbi in teh same messianic jewish
    temple she attends
SkyeDS: I'm afraid the blame for all this is going to land solely on
you, [aunt L] and [dad] for "too much honesty".
evile: [aunt L]? WTF??? [aunt L] has been nothing but kind to those sicko
    fucking ingrates.
evile: and her diseased bastard offspring
SkyeDS: apparently [mom] doesn't see it that way.
    evile: WEll, fuck mom.
SkyeDS: I'm sure K isn't thinking clearly at the moment, I don't know
that many people would be if it were their son in the ICU and all.
SkyeDS: and I am considered something of a monster for keeping a
clear, logical mind in crisis. = I'm cold.
evile: Well, it's always easier to be mad at other people than at the
person who has actually misbehaved and hurt you.
SkyeDS: of course very few people ever see the complete breakdown
after all's safe and sound, because I take my migraine and my sobbing
    elsewhere.
evile: I got that shit from the V's when mike & X got locked up
and I wasn't immediately THERE to scoop up the kids. I got that shit
when Elaine tried to kill herself and I didn't rush to the ER. It was
not my shitty behavior that created the situation, but much easier
    to be angry with me.
evile: I'm with you. I hate crying in front of people.
SkyeDS: easier to be mad at "the other woman" even though she wasn't
the one who violated a commitment.
SkyeDS: I get criticized for not acting like a chicken with its head
cut off during a crisis, that makes me cold and uncaring.
SkyeDS: and then when I allow myself to collapse AFTER everything's
ok, it confuses people, because, everything's ok, so what's my
    problem.
evile: Well, I call bullshit on that, and I"m not going to be
anybody's fucking punching bag. This is [brother A]'s bad behavior/poor
    choices
SkyeDS: this is going to bring professionals into the situation,
Idon't know if they realized or even thought about.
    evile: ick.
SkyeDS: they're not going to just turn him loose when he's physically
    better
    SkyeDS: you know that right?
SkyeDS: not if they know it was a suicide attempt.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: he'll be required to go through like 7, 10, 14 days or
whatever of forced observation and counseling.
evile: [rubber pig]'s mom has apparently attempted suicide 14 times,
according to L. Maybe it's her.
SkyeDS: well, if the last argument with G was on Thursday, and the
last thing to happen before this attempt was the drive home, then she
    had more immediate influence.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: I was not thinking when I called, for some reason it didn't
occur to me that you would still be with K, L & H, so o f course you
didn't need to talk to me, like duh.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: just reflex, on the way home from work sineater said she treated
you badly, so first thought was, call her and see if she needs to
vent, and I didn't think past that.
evile: I do appreciate your call. I wasn't really up to have any
phone conversatins with anyone. D got a 'vibe' and called me Thursday
evening. I haven't had the heart to call her back, either.
evile: I really don't know what to do or think...so I prefer to be
alone and not talk much to anyone.
SkyeDS: CRW was great, from my perspective at least, until of course
I did a hideously heinous thing (accidentally, but that doesn't
    ameliorate squat).
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: I think the story that comes back with [aunt L] is going to be
different than the story that comes back with [K/mom].
    evile: Oh, I'm sure.
evile: Mom & I had a talk Thursday after [brother A]'s call that broke my
    fucking heart...
    SkyeDS: ???
evile: I don't think she likes me as a person. She loves me because
i'm her kid and she has to...but she doesn't approve of anything I do
    or say. Upto/including Krav Maga.
SkyeDS: I know she doesn't understand the No Kidding thing. And I am
not happy with Xtal about that, because I'm sure Xtal aggravated
    that.
SkyeDS: may I ask a question I know better than to ask?
    evile: go ahead.
SkyeDS: does [K/mom] know that with the endometriosis you would have
had a hard time trying to have a child anyway?
evile: I am sure she does.
SkyeDS: and that NK is as much a support group for those who can't as
    those who won't?
SkyeDS: I was pregnant once, I nearly miscarried 8 times in 8 weeks.
You don't want to go through that.
evile: I barely even hang out with NK anymore.
evile: She thinks it's wrong for me to know how to break someone's
    bones.
evile: And be willing to do it if someone attacks me
SkyeDS: ok, so you respectfully agree to disagree. or is it not that
    simple with her.
evile: She thinks my comments re: children are 'hateful'
and 'offensive'. She thinks I'm sad and angry and 'not myself'
evile: I think that's basically where I ended it. "I"m sorry you
think those things. I am who I am, and I'm sorry if you don't approve"
evile: Anyway...glad you had fun (mostly) at CRW. Sharjinka was pretty
ticked about this year's combat events.
    SkyeDS: yep
    SkyeDS: for good reason.
SkyeDS: of which my heinous hideousness was the least, surprisingly
    enough
evile: I don't think I'd ever go on the field in HFS.
SkyeDS: I wish the rest of the CR would just decide to let Bhurtok
play by itself in its own little sandbox
SkyeDS: since they apparently don't know how to play nice with anyone
    else in the communal sandbox
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: the raid on Jinx's LJ was completely uncalled for.
(although those things seem to be more trouble than not)
    evile: *nods*
evile: nod and smile = my new philosophy of life.
SkyeDS: Kelly had an interesting take, which is that she would have
done what I did or worse so I should get over it.
evile: Or learn from it and do better next time, maybe?
SkyeDS: I will say this much
SkyeDS: maybe they'll think before they start in on Arthur or the
    girls again
    evile: maybe.
SkyeDS: oh look, it IS possible to push her too far, and it isn't a
    good idea.
evile: apparently lots of folks thought it was part of the RP
SkyeDS: all for the better probably
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: I think the whining about not having lights to ditch by was
BS because there WERE lights to ditch by
SkyeDS: enough lights to RIDE by
    evile: ugh.
    SkyeDS: and shade?
SkyeDS: there was plenty of that too
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: not on the battlefield no
SkyeDS: but most battlefields aren't shaded
    SkyeDS: BD's isn't
    SkyeDS: SM's isn't
SkyeDS: Drandmir has a shaded battlefield and a not shaded
SkyeDS: so wtf fights in shade.
evile: they'd find something else to fuss about if it wasn't that.
SkyeDS: and I am really not happy about the "too much safety'" BS
    evile: yeah.
    SkyeDS: someone had Heat Stroke
SkyeDS: the EMS had to be called
    evile: I heard about that.
SkyeDS: and Gabe's attitude was "just because one person had heat
    stroke...."
    evile: Nice.
SkyeDS: if it had been Gabe or PtA that had the EMS called out they
    would have hollared bloody murder
    evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: and insisted that no games transpire the rest of teh entire
    weekend
    evile: heh. probably.
SkyeDS: I don't even know what to think anymore about Gabe & PtA.
    evile: jerks!
SkyeDS: it was the biggest and the best CRW ever.
    evile: I'm glad.
SkyeDS: biggest = fact, and best = opinion of course, but opinion of
    most
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: onion creek is clearer than a lot of chlorinated pools.
evile: nice. All the water is great this summer. Bull Creek, Krause
    Springs. just gorgeous.
SkyeDS: I think Imina camp there when it cools off, just by ourselves
    evile: that would be nice.
SkyeDS: last time dad & [brother A] talked was last night apparently
    evile: *nods*
evile: Sweetie might be camping this weekend. I think I will bow out,
    family drama notwithstanding.
evile: it's too damned hot outside.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: parents coming this weekend, bringing tractor with them.
evile: and the VW has no A/C. he got a window unit to plug in at camp
sites with hook-ups but that's no good while driving.
SkyeDS: asked for loan for $900 tractor or a used one, getting new
    one $2200, gift.
    evile: OMG, that is cool.
evile: My phone just flashed that I have 2 msg. No rings, and no
signal, but somehow I got messages. feck.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: At work I don't usually get much signal, if any at all.
evile: whatever it is, I'm sure I don't want to deal with it at work
    anyway.
    SkyeDS: maybe not.
evile: There just isn't a fuckin' thing I can do. So I don't want to
    even know.
SkyeDS: if there's permanent damage to [brother A] sineater will kill her
    evile: i know.
evile: I am so confused about the anger at [aunt L]. WTF.
SkyeDS: apparently ya'll have been too harsh in your honesty.
evile: *I* have. [DAD] has. [aunt L] has been nothing but gracious and
cordial. For fucks sake, she just bought that ravening hoarde
    breakfast 3 days ago!
evile: She and [uncle B] have been there to pick up the pieces every single
goddamned time any of us kids have fucked up our lives and needed a
    place to land.
evile: How fucking ungrateful of [brother A]/[rubber pig]/Mom
evile: And who was it who got the news and immediately drove to San
    Antonio? [aunt L]....
SkyeDS: well, the game playing is about to come to a halt I suspect
SkyeDS: once a professional is called in
    evile: Hope so.
evile: I have always thought that [brother A] would eventually kill
    himself...wierd.
SkyeDS: it is traditionally held that scorpios meet violent ends
    evile: interesting, i guess.
SkyeDS: wonder how long the unusual details of the "marriage" can be
hidden from whatever professional gets called in
    evile: I don't necessarily think that a 3some is pathological, but a
    lot of health professionals disagree.
SkyeDS: yes. sineater met many of them.
evile: it was/is certainly pathological to lie about it.
    SkyeDS: yes.
SkyeDS: and it's different when there are children and another
    pregnancy involved
SkyeDS: she didn't look 5 months to me, usually showing by then.
evile: especially when you're so forthcoming about the parentage &
    previous wierdo relationships
evile: 5 weeks. due in March.
    SkyeDS: oh
evile: A bit after [uncle D] and [wife U.] are due, actually.
SkyeDS: sineater said months. got his wires crossed, probably
    evile: Interesting coincidence, I thought.
evile: so 5 weeks=1 missed period. woo.

evile: You know ...when I first met her, I really did want to give
her a chance. Okay, so she talks too much and gives TMI...but maybe
    she was nervous. Now...nope.
SkyeDS: at this point don't know w hat to say, do, or for that
    matter, think
evile: She's beautiful and smart and interesting...she really could
be a decent person if she tried at all. But, no.
evile: me neither. which is why I'd rather go home after work than go
sit in the waiting room in San Antonio and watch everyone freak out
or zombie around. fuck that. it's not any good for anybody.
evile: Checked voice mail. One was Sweetie from a week ago, and one was
sineater. Not bad. Why it took a week for sweetie's message to
    register...bizarre.
SkyeDS: sonar0m has same problem often
evile: technology is supposed to make our lives easier...
evile: J-Law is so wise. Her email: That's ridiculous. That is
completely ridiculous. You're right - [aunt L] has always been there and
done her best by all of you. I know I couldn't depend on my aunt
(much as I love her) for the kind of love and support she has given
to your entire family, the kids especially. She is one of the
kindest, most ethical and decent people I have ever met. I sure hope
your mom (much as I love her, too) gets over whatever her issue is.

If there's anyone she should be mad at, it's [brother A] for making a shitty
marriage, returning to same after being booted, refusing in his
typical stubborn fashion to discuss it with anyone, and then trying
    to kill himself.
SkyeDS: have to wonder if it isn't bid for attention
    evile: exactly.
evile: Just a big cry for help. he's in over his head and doesn't
    know how to get out.
evile: [dad] needs to not beat himself up over this. if [uncle B], a trained
psychologist, did not see any symptoms to alarm him, how could any of
    the rest of the family?
SkyeDS: I would dearly love to pick [uncle B]'s head over this
SkyeDS: I need to pick [uncle B]'s head over ADD/ADHD since so many of my
    clients have/have had it
evile: trendy diagnosis du jour, imho.
SkyeDS: from what I understand the real thing is genetic, like
    migraines
SkyeDS: so it can be controlled but not cured.
SkyeDS: I know what I do helps, but I don't know why.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: if I understood what I was doing, I could do it better than
    I'm doing it now
evile: Omega at the Crossings has a healing/chakra workshop later
this month that I'm interested in.
evile: I'm pretty sure it's not necessarily the thing itself, but the
mental focus/discipline one develops that helps.
SkyeDS: I'm pretty sure what happens is a rewiring of the electrical
    wires in the head
SkyeDS: like teaching stroke victims to talk again, walk again,
    wahtever
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and there are no doubt uncountable ways of doing that
SkyeDS: Marshal, my 8 am Mon, is 12, and he's no bigger than Meghan,
    who is 7 or 8.
SkyeDS: but this morning he got over all his stumbling blocks, and
was able to ride singlehanded while swinging at sineater with a sword.
    evile: heh. cool.
SkyeDS: told him if he trots by himself next week, we will officially
    promote him to "Intermediate"
SkyeDS: he trotted today with ground crew
evile: how awesome is that! very cool.
SkyeDS: mom is having problems finding a good school to put him in,
so I'm trying to make up for that too
SkyeDS: I would not want to be in [uncle B]'s shoes right about now.
    evile: *nods*
evile: [uncle B] is a rock.
evile: He ought to send someone a bill after all this :P
    SkyeDS: no shit.
evile: Mom told me I needed to 'see someone' about my 'problems'
SkyeDS: my mother tried to have me committed nearly my entire
    childhood.
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: smile nod (and ignore) will come in handy.
    evile: yup.
evile: I just can't see that I'm so awful....
evile: Maybe that is a sign of denial and insanity on my part. Or
    maybe it's mom.
SkyeDS: there is an exercise called Black Mirror White Mirror
SkyeDS: it has to do with turning negatives into positives
    evile: sounds interesting.
SkyeDS: that is a VAST oversimplification and I'd have to go look up
where the entire process was published
SkyeDS: but I'm sure in t he meanwhile you could devise your own
    methods.
evile: I'm 34 goddamned years old. I have the right to my opinions. I
have the right to live as I choose. If someone else doesn't like it,
    they can fuck off.
    SkyeDS: zactly
evile: As sad as it may be to feel that I'm not living up to her
expectations, I look around and see what I've accomplished, what I
have...and it's not so bad. I am a decent, honorable, honest human
being. I treat people fairly and give lots of second chances. But I'm
    also not anybody's fucking doormat.
SkyeDS: I finally got it through to my mom that she has made me feel
inferior since I was 5 years old and that's shaped my life for 30
years now, and not for the better
SkyeDS: and of course, she never meant to.
    evile: nope.
evile: "They fuck you up your mom and dad..."
SkyeDS: last time Gramma went off on me, I told her, firmly but
without losing it on her, look
SkyeDS: all these things you worry about, they don't happen
SkyeDS: I didn't just do what you were afraid I was going to
SkyeDS: I didn't even come close
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: in the meanwhile I did a damn good job of executing this move
    with surgical precision
SkyeDS: now if you can't say something nice, please leave me alone,
because you're hurting me. a lot.
evile: worry is guilt turned inside out.
SkyeDS: "fuck you" and "frankly my dear I don't give a damn" are very
liberating. even if they have to be watered down/rephrased for
    whatever audience.
    evile: *nods*
evile: I guess I didn't tell you my interesting revelation: I
realized that one of my many issues with [rubber pig] & [brother A] is the
emotional blackmail with kids that I went through with X and dont'
want to do again. So that's why I am not trying too hard with the
kids. I didn't realize it consciously until Mom & I talked on Thurs.
    SkyeDS: entirely understandable though
SkyeDS: even though I knew better, I offered to take half a day off
to take the kids riding (which was of course refused0
evile: That was nice of you, anyway.
SkyeDS: I know why you don't want to get too attached and don't see
how anyone could possibly attach blame to that
SkyeDS: <complete doormat when it comes to children, I know it.
evile: [rubber pig]'s just so nuts...there is no way I could interact with
the children without having to deal with that. And I don't want to
see her or talk to her ever again, frankly.
SkyeDS: no point in having a plan of attack now
    evile: nope.
SkyeDS: the shit will hit the fan when [mom] & [dad] get there, and
all battle plans would be off anyway
SkyeDS: they seldom outlast the first skirmish in general
evile: I'm following the Prime Directive now. Not Captain Kirk's
    version, either.
evile: I didn't realize how badly x had damaged me. that makes me
mad/sad. I feel like a gnawed bone. I got nothing left for anyone
because of all the damage done...
SkyeDS: hate to tell you this but I suspect you already have a soft
spot in your heart for the kids anyway
    evile: ...probably.
evile: [brother A] & [rubber pig]'s irresponsible air-castle building would not
peeve me so much if they did not have kids to support.
SkyeDS: I have no problems with a triad marriage (obviously)
SkyeDS: sineater doesn't like her using [his  last] name, and I
    understand that
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: sonar0m doesn't use [sineater's last] name, nor do I use sonar0m' name
SkyeDS: it's the kids that fuck all this up
SkyeDS: I'm not happy with my little brother either
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I do happen to agree with Dr. Laura for the most part about
the right way to bring up kids
SkyeDS: and he won't go back to Georgia because "he isn't happy
there, has no friends there, has no support system there"
SkyeDS: ok, fine, but he has THREE KIDS there.
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: so what this tells me is that he'd rather be in New Orleans
because he likes it better there, than be a parent.
SkyeDS: now why the hell couldn't he figure that out before he had
    THREE
evile: too bad. once you have kids, they are your #1 priority, or
    should be.
SkyeDS: well, I intimated this to my mother exactly once
SkyeDS: I"ll not say it again
evile: Prince Goldensprog who can do no wrong.
SkyeDS: I hope I get to meet them one day, but I don't count on it
evile: I suspect that if Nanny were alive, [brother A]'s Prince Goldensprog
status would be permanently revoked right about now.
evile: That or she'd be raising those 3 girls.
    SkyeDS: both, I suspect.
evile: well, it's an either/or. If he wasn't the goldensprog,he'd be
crap and she'd want nothing to do with the little bastids.
    SkyeDS: dammit
SkyeDS: why do people bring children into this kind of shit
evile: because to some people 'babies just happen'...
SkyeDS: I take some small comfort in that when you and I fuck up, we
only fuck up ourselves, not children
SkyeDS: and the day a fuckup of mine hurts my "children", I'm hanging
it up and calling it quits
    evile: yup.
    SkyeDS: Kim has three children
SkyeDS: one she only has partial custody of
SkyeDS: two she has no contact with at all
SkyeDS: and now she's getting married so she can squeeze out more
SkyeDS: I wish it were possible to shoot her, [rubber pig] and my little
brother in the face with bazooka.
    evile: depo provera dart gun.
    SkyeDS: rofl, good idea!
evile: well, not for the brother. but it might be interesting, anyway.
SkyeDS: thank god he got himself fixed
evile: smart boy. shutting the barn door after the .... have escaped,
but at least there will be no more.
evile: I love my friends. Rio just told me to find out which hospital
so she can go put her boot in [rubber pig]'s ass.
    SkyeDS: woohoo :D
evile: Meanwhile I've been rehearsing my homicide trial.
evile: It's probably not any more right for me to blame [rubber pig] than it
is for anyone to blame [aunt L]. Just easier.
SkyeDS: I didn't do it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: has [brother A] ever done this before or threatened to seriously?
evile: Not that I know of.
SkyeDS: when he talked to sineater Friday he laid all the blame for his
    miseries at [dad]'s feet.
SkyeDS: some of which sineater feels belongs there and some of which
    doesn't.
evile: I am pretty sure [rubber pig] helped with that.
SkyeDS: problems with [dad] are undoubtedly pre existing
SkyeDS: they have never been bad enough to precipitate this,
    apparently
SkyeDS: that leaves an obvious conclusion to draw
evile: Not even when they lived in the same house & almost got into
    physical fights.
evile: They'd fight, and bluster and do the chest-puffing threat-
display Scorpio bullshit...and then everything would simmer down and
    they'd talk and be OK.
evile: We do have a family history of suicide--mom's father killed
    himself when she was 17.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: And god knows I've thought about it enough times...and so has
mom. But we never did it.
SkyeDS: the only new thing about the situation is [rubber pig].
evile: And [rubber pig] does not like [dad] because [dad] wanted to be
realistic about things and know the truth about what was going on,
and once asked [brother A] to ask her not to talk in the background while
    they were on the phone.
evile: And [rubber pig] does not like me, I dont' really know why...she did
tell me that I remind her of her sister that she doesn't get along
with. But I can't think of a damn thing that would have made them
give me the silent treatment on Sunday and then again on Friday.
    SkyeDS: drawing battlelines
SkyeDS: and doing a damn good job if she's got [mom] at [aunt L]'s throat
evile: And if she's creating a division between Mom & [dad]. Hasn't
been mentioned yet by anyone, but I can't imagine them holding the
    same opinions on this situation.
SkyeDS: and everyone thought I was bad.
    evile: :P
SkyeDS: it worked out fine in the end for all of us for sineater to spend
time with his family, and for me not to.
SkyeDS: this is just too much sturm and drang.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: if [brother A] didn't really want to die, I wonder if he knows he's
risking brain damage and/or organ damage. permanently.
evile: who knows what [brother A] was thinking...that's the one reason I'd
never do it unless I was dead serious & assured of the results.
evile: Only thing worse than being alive & miserable with full
mental/physical faculties is being alive and a vegetable. At least
now I work and pay my own way in life.
SkyeDS: I think, if I had to choose, (and I would rather be dead than
either), I would rather body work and mind not
SkyeDS: I can't imagine having an active mind and no mode of
    expression
    evile: *nods*
evile: We saw a movie Thursday that you might like: it's called De-
Lovely, about Cole Porter . Lots of piano & singing. Not my usual
    thing, but I enjoyed it.
SkyeDS: :) saw Troy and Van Helsing over the weekend.
    evile: what did you think?
    SkyeDS: was surprised by Troy
    SkyeDS: and VH was fun
evile: Yeah. VH was a hoot. Like a roller coaster ride with rubber
bats and stuff. People got upset about it being a 'bad movie' but it
was just a fun ride, ya know?
evile: what about Troy surprised you?
SkyeDS: I didn't expect it to be that good
SkyeDS: I don't put much stock in Brad Pitt
SkyeDS: but other than one detail it was very good
evile: He did a pretty good job, I thought.
SkyeDS: (Agamemnon did NOT die at Troy, he died in Mycenae when he
came back, which started the Oresteia)
SkyeDS: and I have to admit, he was nice to look at
SkyeDS: as much as I hate to admit that
evile: I had forgotten the oresteia..you are good !
SkyeDS: nothing I"m good at is of any practical use
    evile: not true.
SkyeDS: I warned my mother that that one aspect was not true to
source, but told her otherwise I thought she would like it and please
do not acquire the DVD as it would make a good gift.
SkyeDS: they're coming this weekend and if it's still there I want to
    take her
    evile: *nods*
evile: nice outing, family time without any social pressure ;)
evile: I just got some great news--D is pregnant again :) After a
long time of not thinking she could. I'm happy for them :)
SkyeDS: why the hell do people do what they do
    SkyeDS: I will never understand
SkyeDS: hope Phil will be happy to have a little sister/brother :D
evile: me neither. the world is shitty enough without people who are
supposed to love you kicking you in the teeth.
evile: D is waiting until it's a bit further along to tell Josephine.
She lost one a couple years ago and it was such a hurtful thing for
    everyone.
SkyeDS: where did I get Philomena
SkyeDS: dammit I'm going senile in my old age
evile: heh. that's a good name, too. Maybe that's the baby's name :)
evile: D calls her 'Phine, maybe that's how you got it?
    SkyeDS: probably so.
    evile: real close :)
evile: It took me a while to get the names of all [rubber pig]'s figured
out. I m not good with names.
SkyeDS: I don't remember their names at all except they call the baby
    Yummy
    evile: Blis, Lyra, and Yummy
    SkyeDS: the girls are pretty
evile: And they are well-behaved. Nice kids.
SkyeDS: still wish could shoot bad parents w bazookas
evile: Blis is starting to get a little drama-queeny as she
approaches puberty. But she seems to be OK.
SkyeDS: what kind of example has she got leading her
evile: [rubber pig] is really quite lovely. Too bad she's such a monster
    inside.
evile: Apparently [rubber pig]'s mom is drama-freaky too. I only met her the
once and she did not impress me with her rudeness to [aunt L].
SkyeDS: lol [mom] said at breakfast she liked drama.
SkyeDS: I don't think this is what she meant.
evile: Mom said "I like drama"?
SkyeDS: I think she meant Drama, as in the subject she teaches
    evile: aha.
SkyeDS: dont' think there will be much left of [rubber pig] when [dad] is
    done.
SkyeDS: and I was a little taken aback that she is using the [family last]
    name
    evile: *sigh*
evile: Wrong approach. But might be fun to watch, anyway.
evile: Well, it's about time for me to pack up & move 'em out.
    SkyeDS: hugs
SkyeDS: you'll have to tell me the magical internet story sometime
evile: *laff* yeah. it was pretty fucking ridiculous. Thanks for
being my rock today, honey. I appreciate you.
    SkyeDS: nah
evile: Yeah, I do. Thanks for caring :)

    Jul. 29, 2004

Had a major meltdown at my mother this afternoon. It was truly
lovely. [Brother A] called to talk to everyone and finagle an invite for
him, his 'wife', her kids, and her father to come up tomorrow. Aunt L
said they were more than welcome, BUT that she would not be able to
put them up for the night. Then [Brother A] talked to Mom, who said she
absolutely did not have the energy to visit if he and the gang came
up today/tonight. Then he asked to talk to me.

He asked what was 'the deal' on Sunday. I replied that they were 4
hours late with neither an apology nor a call as they were leaving to
travel to Austin, and that I thought that was rude. He proceeded to
get defensive and talk about he has 3 kids and a pregnant wife, and
to cut him some slack, it's hard to get everyone out the door, and
don't I remember when we were kids that Mom got us everywhere late
all the time? (No, I don't, but I just repeated, "Well, I just think
it was rude of you to be so late and not call.")

I also mentioned that since neither him nor his wife spoke to me, I
didn't want to hang around being ignored so I left.

At that point he announced coldly that they were NOT coming up after
all. Aww. Break my heart, why don't ya?

So then mom played their drama game & called them back.

Once she was off the phone, she was all like "You were all 'they'
this 'they 'that, you were giving as good as you got!!"

So I told her I was tired of hearing how much I distress and offend
her and I guess I should just quit being honest and just nod and
    smile and say nothing.

Then I went off on Krav Maga & how offended and hurt I am by her
attitude towards it. How I feel like she'd rather see me dead than
see me beating up a rapist/robber/murderer who was trying to hurt me.
She said there's a huge place for action between being a victim and
breaking someone's bones. Maybe there is and maybe there isn't. I've
never beein in that situation. Aunt L and Uncle B have had concealed carry
licenses for years, but they've never shot/killed anyone. I consider
Krav Maga to be mostly for fitness, but with a side benefit of being
able to defend myself. And just a tiny little fucking bit of self-
esteem to have been able to work my body as hard as it would work,
test my limits, and find myself capable and strong. To have her just
dismiss all of that as 'distressing'...very very hurtful to me. I
really did hear it as "I'd rather see you dead than hear about you
    fighting with someone".. fuck that.

She says I'm unhappy and not being 'myself' and I said "this is who I
am, tough shit if you don't like it"...which I don't really feel. It
tears me up that I'm such a disappointment to her. That I'm a person
she finds offensive and hateful and distressing.

Then I talked about [Brother A] & my concerns/fears & reasons for not
wanting to deal with him or the Rubber Pig.

Then I realized that the X sitch is still hurting me, and that I
am not wanting to get involved with the Rubber Pig's kids because I'm still in
really deep pain from when X kicked me out of her kids' lives and
that was 13+ years of my life, my love, my caring down the fucking
toilet...and nothing to show for it. I don't want to care about
anybody else's kids again like that. Especially not some fucking
    wackjob like the Rubber Pig.

Turns out that before [Brother A] talked to us, he and [dad] had an
unfortunate phone conversation, so I guess I got some of the fallout
    from that.

    Jul. 25, 2004

So, [Brother A] & the Rubber Pig were supposed to be at Aunt L & Uncle B's at 11. [Brother A]
called at 10 til 11 to say they were running late. They finally
showed up at 3:20. Aunt L was pissed. Festive & Dave came & visited
until almost 3 but then had to leave for Houston. Bummer!

the Rubber Pig staggered in in some kind of zombie/drugged out looking way and
did not say hello or say one word to me.

She induced vomiting to herself at some point (I had gone to lay
down, I was not intersted in bratty kids, or being pointedly ignored
by the Rubber Pig) apparently they'd made an announcement shortly before the
fingers-down-throat noises that woke me up that the Rubber Pig is indeed 5
weeks along ( she will beat Uncle Bubba by about a month
    in producing a new offspring)

Big drama calling her doctor in SA. He prescribed two bottles of
soemthing. One, I saw the label and it was potassium chloride.

I *know* it was not normal vomiting, I have lived in a dorm & been
around enough college girls to know the sound of "finger-down-throat"
yarf as opposed to "actually sick" yarf.

    A disgusting display.

[Sister H] had wanted to go to roller derby tonight (luckily I did not buy
tix in advance) but then [Brother A] gave her a sad little story about how
they were not staying the night, so she decided to stay & visit
rather than go to roller derby.

I said teh words 'knocked up" and [Brother A] corrected me that "the Rubber Pig is
pregnant with MY child that WE have been trying to conceive"

Thats greeeaaaaaaaaat. Especially now that TREY has been fired, too,
so NONE of them have a job. Fabulous. They also have a kitten now, in
addition to Paulie. AND all the girls have ringworm.

    Dis gust ing.

    Jul. 19, 2004

SkyeDS: how do, how was weekend?
evile: unproductive. But Sunday was pretty awesome.
    SkyeDS: what you do Sun.
evile: I'm going to have to go home and bust my ass every day after
work to get the house clean by Friday.
evile: Sunday was poly tubing in San Marcos. Way cool. I want to go
    again soon :)
    SkyeDS: love tubing
SkyeDS: last weekend of month, definitely going swimming at least
evile: It was great fun. The SA polys were...um...outgoing.
SkyeDS: outgoing like Mouser? outgoing more than Mouser?
evile: Mom's plane leaves at Noon the 31st, I'll be free after that.
evile: Outgoing like "licking chocolate pudding off of cleavage on
the shores of a river where hundreds of children and parents and
vanillas were looking on in horror"
SkyeDS: I suppose I shouldn't find that funny
evile: I am all for whatever consenting adults want to do amongst
    htemselves, BUT...there is a time & place and I didn't feel they
    picked that very intelligently.
    SkyeDS: nope
SkyeDS: and I spent Sun with the children of Dad's extended family
evile: The boobs in question were quite lovely, and attached to a
    gorgeous woman...BUT.
SkyeDS: I would have taken exception had they been exposed to that
evile: So you had a good fam. reunion?
    SkyeDS: nods :)
    evile: I'm glad.
SkyeDS: did none of the parents say anything?
evile: As far as I know, nobody approached the 'show' to say
anything. I noticed what they were doing, was horrified, and went
out of my way to do something else, look somewhere else. Niki now
calls the SA polys "The Snack Pack"
evile: She is a wicked, evil, naughty girl that Niki. We had a great
    time being evil together yesterday.
SkyeDS: if I were a parent, I think I would have said something (or
sineater would have, and he isn't always tactful)
    evile: Oh well.
evile: For me personally the incident was not worth ruining my mellow
    day over.
SkyeDS: what evils did you unleash on the world ;)
evile: Nothing too dreadful, we were just being sort of witty/snarky,
a lot of verbal play. Most of which we did while kids were not in
earshot, and even if htey had been, it would have gone far over their
    heads.
evile: it was mostly just a fun, relaxing day. A good bunch of folks.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: I didn't realize it, but you can apparently tube down and ride
back as many times as you want in 1 day. I was under the impression
that 1 tube rental=1 ride down. So that was a happy surprise. I could
spend a day doing that again.
    SkyeDS: cool
SkyeDS: how much time does it take round trip? tubing down and riding
    back
evile: Maybe an hour round trip. It's not very long.
evile: We went into the water at 2, came back up, ate & visited, then
went back down again & went down the waterfall several times before
the last shuttle run at 6:30
evile: Maybe Sweetie will go next time. he's got a rash on his arms &
didn't want to aggravate it with sunscreen & rubbing against a tube
    all day.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: I think he's allergic to either our laundry detergent or dryer
    sheets.
    SkyeDS: dat sux
    evile: yeah.
    SkyeDS: so sleepy
SkyeDS: txka not really a weekend run when you're 34, like it was
    when you were 21
    evile: *nods*
evile: I wonder if I should start a Schlitterbahn poll on polyaustin.
Like, what day would be best to go....
    SkyeDS: sounds good to me
evile: feeling a little wierd about the yahoogroup--first with the
Diva nonsense, and now a new member who is [ex stepdad]'s ex wife...
evile: ooh, that was a bad thing on Sunday: Niki & I were speaking
about the Diva, turns out that the 3rd member of our little tube-
    cluster is dating her. OOPS.
SkyeDS: hard to keep up w who's doing who
evile: I don't think I said anything too terribly uncomplimentary,
just that I wasn't impressed with her & couldn't believe how
distressed she got about my gothfest post.
    SkyeDS: shrugs
    SkyeDS: people can deal
evile: true. I just don't really care to be seen as a nasty shrew who
talks smack behind peoples backs (even if its true)
evile: And I'd been pretty careful in the poly group to try and be
the kinder gentler E. So yesterday was a bit of a blip on the charts,
    I guess.
    SkyeDS: you've done worse
    SkyeDS: so have I
SkyeDS: and so have others if they're honest
evile: sure. But I like myself better when I'm not being nasty. Fine
line between witty and nasty. I might have crossed it.
evile: Oh well. I did and said what I did and said...if it ends
    friendships, so be it.
    SkyeDS: hope not
    evile: me too.
    evile: Poll is up.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: Erinlefey suggestd that I put up the poll, being that I have
more 'charisma' than she does....where do people GET these ideas
    about me???
    SkyeDS: observation?
evile: I'm flattered but I just dont' see it....
SkyeDS: my lesson's mom today told me I was valuable
SkyeDS: because I have a calm, cool head.
    SkyeDS: go figure
evile: In your own element(s)/areas of expertise, you are very
    competent & clear-headed.
evile: she probably just didn't want to do the work so flattered me
    into doing it. :P
SkyeDS: flattery will get you everywhere
evile: *nods* And Erinlefey has some people-managing skills, so that's
    probably it :)
evile: I'm glad your Monday a.m. lessons are going well :) That's a
nice way to start the week, I would think.
    SkyeDS: it is
evile: doesn't sound like she's given much credibility to any of your
    naysayers, either.
evile: actions speak louder than words & all of that...
SkyeDS: this isn't the lesson that B was trying to coax away
    evile: oh. Ok.
SkyeDS: this is the kind of lesson B wouldn't touch w a 10 foot pole
    SkyeDS: because he's ADD
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and I won't lose this client because I'm part of the
solution, not part of the problem
    evile: Good for you :)
SkyeDS: I have decided, that if Megan takes from Bridget, and she
does well, I will be happy for her
SkyeDS: Bridget could teach her a whole lot that I couldn't
SkyeDS: if Strider, who is a perfect horse, gets ruined in the
process, they'll c ome back to me
    SkyeDS: if not, good
evile: *nods* One of the folks out tubing yesterday used to train
dogs. Got tired of having people bring the animals back repeatedly
    after ruining their good habits/training.
    SkyeDS: exactly
SkyeDS: why I didn't want to go back into training
SkyeDS: but you can't train wihtout giving lessons
    SkyeDS: or vice versa
SkyeDS: not and do it right
SkyeDS: so I'm not taking clients who don't listen to me from now on
SkyeDS: and I have a very long talk at the get go
evile: Exactly. He felt bad for the animals, but just got sick of
dealing with the lazy stupid people who wouldn't bother with
reinforcing the good behavior he'd taught the dogs.
SkyeDS: it's the I don't want prozac and zestril for breakfast thing
    evile: *nods*
evile: This dog trainer, Doug, had been taking a break from dog
training for a while, apparently. Burnout is hard to deal with. And
it must be really awful to burnout from doing something that you used
    to LOVE.
    SkyeDS: been there, done that
    SkyeDS: I would like him
    evile: He is way cool.
    evile: very funny, too.
SkyeDS: maybe I'll get the chance to cross paths some day
SkyeDS: no doubt worlds of things I could learn from him
evile: hope so. There are lots of cool people in the group that I
enjoy getting a chance to visit with 1-on-1. The big First Wednesday
dinner is great for seeing folks, saying hi&bye, but yesterday was a
    good 'sit and visit' day.
SkyeDS: is he in the polys?
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: oh cool, then I know where to find him :)
    evile: yup.
evile: I'm going to miss poly dinner again this week (class) and next
week ([Sister H] & mom visit) *sigh* Oh well.
SkyeDS: sineater thought they were in town two weeks, I told him to my
    understanding it was just one.
evile: Mom is here 23rd to 31st. [Sister H] is here 23 to 8th, but from
31st to 8th, she is with her dad & may be unavailable for stuff with
    our side of the fam.
evile: I guess I'll email him with the info..could have sworn I'd
already imparted this more than once. Oh well.
SkyeDS: he forgets, it is well to remind him (gently) from time to
    time
SkyeDS: gently so as not to be nagging.
    evile: boy needs a calendar.
SkyeDS: he needs a secretary :)
evile: I'm not anybody's fuckin' social secretary, I don't like
repeating myself 20 times because people can't be bothered to write
shit down or save email or whatever they need to do to be responsible
for their 1/2 of the interaction....
evile: Sorry, ti's not just sineater who seems to have this problem. Just
    venting in general.
    SkyeDS: tell me bout it
evile: I get tired of chasing people around begging them to spend
    time.
evile: It hurts my feelings and makes me feel invalidated when people
don't seem to put as much into stuff as I do.
evile: When someone doesn't acknowledge the info I give them, or
forgets to act on it, it makes me feel like I dont' matter to them.
evile: I get tired of feeling like I don't matter to anyone.
SkyeDS: am lokoing very forward to no commitments
SkyeDS: then we can run around :)
    evile: *nods*
    SkyeDS: move is Wed nite
    SkyeDS: err movie
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: don't think I want to walk all the way from work so I will
    jsut risk parking
evile: There may be a window between workers going home & party
people coming out where you can find a spot.
evile: I'm just going to walk from work, maybe stop at Gingerman or
    somewhere for a beer.
SkyeDS: lol that makes me feel like a weenie
evile: *shrug* you are further away.
    SkyeDS: not think so
    evile: ok.
SkyeDS: but I guess that depends on how you measure
SkyeDS: I know I can walk in a straight line and be where you are in
    10 min or less
SkyeDS: but you may be closer to Colorado
evile: I get off work 'round 4:15, you will be in your office until,
what, 6? Box office opens at 6:15. So I have more time to meander.
SkyeDS: I'm accustomed to walking down to the courthouse (10th) and
    the Board (4th/Guad)
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: I will give it thought
SkyeDS: also will have sineater with me, will ask him if he feels like
    walking
    evile: *nods*
evile: Well, like I said, time will be more of an issue for y'all,
since you get done with work later than me. Box office opens at 6:15,
seating will probably begin by 6:30.
SkyeDS: if I get here early I can leave early
evile: 5-6 is probably a good window for finding vacated parking
    spaces downtown.
    SkyeDS: makes sense
evile: there used to be a free state lot & parking garage near there,
but I think it's all pay now.
SkyeDS: right off 4th & guad, used to be, don't know now
evile: I know the lot is pay now. Not sure about the garage.
    SkyeDS: dammit
SkyeDS: I had a tent I could have given Sharjinka but I sold it to
that twat that is still following sineater around after he told her to
    get lost.
evile: She didn't ask for a tent, she asked for crash space.
SkyeDS: because she doesn't have a tent
SkyeDS: if I had a tent to give her then she'd have a tent
evile: *grinz* she didn't ask for a tent, she asked for crash space.
I get good mileage of interpreting people literally these days.
SkyeDS: I still would rather have given her mine than sold it to the
    twat
    evile: *nods*
evile: hindsight is 20/20 and all that.
    SkyeDS: dammit anyway
    evile: heh.
evile: Oh, latest the Rubber Pig miserydrama: she is having some sort
of "family gathering" on the 26th, to which only my mother has been
    invited.
    SkyeDS: that's CRW weekend :-/
evile: it's actually the Monday after CRW. But nonetheless, Mom is
the only person the Rubber Pig called to invite. She hasn't invited me, [Sister H],
Aunt L, sineater & you, or anyone else in [Brother A]'s family.
    SkyeDS: odd idea of family
    SkyeDS: maybe she meant hers
evile: Oh, apparently her 'whole family' is getting together.
evile: but only 1 of [Brother A]'s is invited.
evile: Apparently mom is the only one who passed the breakup-drama-
    phone-everyone test.
SkyeDS: lol well excuse the rest of us, geez
evile: no shit, right. Oh well, I guess she doesn't realize that Mom
isn't renting a car and she will have to be driven down by someone...
evile: Honestly, that's the only thing I can think of that the Rubber Pig
could possibly be pissed about. That we didn't do...whatever....when
she called hysterical and in tears to announce the big breakup.
evile: In person, everyone is polite to her (even assuming we could
get in a word edgewise to say something impolite, nobody ever has)
evile: Aunt L & Uncle B kept her damn rugrats for a week & bought them
    stuff.
evile: I called back as soon as I was able, and left a message that
    sounded polite & concerned.
evile: So...I don't know why nobody ranked an invitation but Mom.
SkyeDS: it could be arranged that we *all* drive mom down there, that
    is an option
    evile: heh.
evile: I don't care if I never see her or her crotchfruit again, but
if she's set up some kind of no-win situation and manipulated [Brother A]
into hating everyone but Mom, that will need a swift & fatal
    smackdown.
SkyeDS: [Brother A] doesn't seem inclined to hate anyone including people he
ought to at least steer clear of. Could she manage that?
evile: He hasn't called Aunt L or Me or anyone else but Mom since
    the "breakup."
SkyeDS: so what time is the get together
evile: If he feels that Aunt L and I were 'mean' to the Rubber Pig, he may feel
defensive of her and that we need to be out of the picture.
evile: No idea. Mom mentioned it in passing to Aunt L, Aunt L mentioned
    it in passing to me.
evile: the Rubber Pig may be flakey enough not to give people times/places to
attend family gatherings, or Mom may have assumed Aunt L had an invite,
    too, so didn't need details.
SkyeDS: well, if she goes, she will need to be driven, so then we'll
    know
    evile: *nods*
evile: I'll let y'all know as soon as I know anything.
evile: My bet is that [Brother A] somehow feels that he needs to protect
the Rubber Pig from Me, Aunt L, You, sineater, stepdad, etc.
SkyeDS: maybe your mom is just supposed to be in SA at I don't know,
5 am, and just sit and wait
SkyeDS: as angry as [stepdad] has sounded....
SkyeDS: but you and sineater have made no angry noise
evile: *shrug* Mom has more sense than that & is not a doormat. If
[Brother A] makes it hard for her to see him, she will not jump through
    hoops.
evile: she's already indicated that she isn't interested in doing a
lot of driving during this trip. She'd rather sit & visit.
SkyeDS: doesn't sound like the Rubber Pig cares much about what anyone else
    wants....
    evile: nope.
SkyeDS: I thought the Rubber Pig was on the edge of death all summer with her
    back surgery and all that
evile: no, she went in on a Friday and was released to go home the
    Sunday of the same week.
evile: yet another drama false alarm.
SkyeDS: if I wnated to be bad, I'd make a trip to SA and be all scary
SkyeDS: people keep telling me I'm scary
SkyeDS: that would just make things worse, but it's entertaining to
    think about anyway
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: lots of things i find entertaining to think about, but I
    don't do
SkyeDS: that and I'm a wuss
evile: Unfo, [Brother A] will get the fallout from whatever offense his
    family gives, I think.
SkyeDS: sounds like that's the case
evile: So best to try and stay on good terms, not give her any
excuses to treat [Brother A] or us poorly.
evile: If she's nasty to him and we've given her no excuse to do so,
maybe he'll wake up and say "hey, I don't deserve this crap!"
evile: Or, if not self-preserving, "Hey, there was no call to be
    nasty to my sister/aunt! WTF!?"
evile: [Brother A] does tend to crusade for others far more than he takes up
    for himself.
SkyeDS: <sighs, for the umpteenth time at the whole thing>
    evile: yeah.
    evile: trainwreck city.
evile: I just don't know what's ruder--only inviting one person to
a 'family' gathering, or showing up uninvited to said gathering.
SkyeDS: I don't know about degrees of rude very well
evile: Me neither. Both seem equally inexcusable. Being rude in
answer to rudeness doesn't seem like a very good option.
SkyeDS: but a good source of amusing musings allt he same
SkyeDS: which hurt no one if you keep them to yourself and those of
    us who appreciate them
    evile: *nod* true enough.
SkyeDS: I had a good time sniping at PtA & TnA, to you, Jinx, sineater
    & sonar0m
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: didn't bother Rita with it, although she would have been
    amused if she weren't busy
SkyeDS: and in amusing myself that way, got it completely out of my
    system
SkyeDS: like I haven't got other things demanding my energy
evile: exactly. so you can enjoy CRW without any leftover
    stress/angst.

SkyeDS: Sharjinka would like to do another catwoman thing
    evile: I think she should.
SkyeDS: I suggested to her that you and sineater are both susceptible to
flattery and exceedingly talented at the garb & makeup thing
SkyeDS: since Jonathan is no longer around
SkyeDS: don't be mad, I just suggested she ask.
SkyeDS: she wants a corset for CRW but is scared she'll fall out of
    one
SkyeDS: I told her, darlin, if I don't fall out of mine, bucket o
guts that I am, I don't think you should worry
    evile: *shrug*
evile: I am busy this weekend, so I would not be able to help her do
    anything. Plus she hasn't asked.
SkyeDS: the cat thing would be for much later date
SkyeDS: anything involving lots of makeup at crw = bad idea, serious
    meltdown
    evile: *nods*

SkyeDS: tis your time <sighs> will be mine in two hours or so :)
evile: Have a good evening :)
SkyeDS: <hugs> wind to your wings, bella

2334 well, shit. [Brother A] & the Rubber Pig are back together.

K/mom called this am. She said [Brother A] was back with the Rubber Pig - that they
had just had a fight and things were resolved between them (I
was right about the Rubber Pig kicking him out, not his leaving her). It
would have been nice if either [Brother A] or the Rubber Pig had the courtesy to
call and let me know, since the Rubber Pig was so quick to call about
their "breakup". Anyway, you don't need to worry about if [Brother A] is
OK. On a different note, we all need to get together sometime July
23-30 when K/mom and [Sister H] are here. LOVE YA!
    =================================
    me to Aunt L:

Sorry to hear about [Brother A] & the Rubber Pig. I guess she just needs killin'. :(

I got half a day off on the 23rd, I'll be done at 11:30 and we can
maybe run the roads after that & get Mom & [Sister H] at the airport at 3
    when their plane gets in.

I did not get any full days off the week of the 26-30th. 2 other
people are already taking off. But I got half days, so I'll be done
at 11:30 every day, and free to run the roads with Mom & [Sister H] after
that. I'm up for anything :)

sineater and Skye_ds will be at an HFS event July 23-25, but as far as I
know they will be free in the evenings during the week. (If you meant
to include them with "all" of us getting together, that is. I haven't
really mentioned any details of the visit to them, I think UB is
still pissed at [Sister H] and whatever. I don't really care.)

What time does picnic at Elaine's start on the 3rd? Sweetie hasn't gotten
the vanagon fixed--he has to order a new radiator. The existing
radiator was 90% clogged and when the radiator shop bored it out, it
was 90% leaky. So (maybe possibly) we will both be there. Unless he
gets a better offer. I'll keep you posted if I end up needing a ride.

    E,
You may already know this. [Brother A] is back with the Rubber Pig. Apparently he
came back not too long after she called everybody and over dramatized
everything. K/mom called to see if she had heard from him and he was
there. Your mom was very angry. It was important to spread the drama
but not important to let K/mom know he was all rigtht. So the Rubber Pig
didn't take the girls and Paulie and go off to Blanco.
I am glad he is OK, I can't honestly say I am glad he is back with
her. This won't be the lat of this kind of thing, I fear.
    Talk to you lateer

At least we know why we didn't win the lottery (think smiley face).
I'll pick you up at 11:30 on Friday the 23rd so we can go get your
mom and [Sister H]. Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Elaine's. Let me know if
Uncle B & I need to transport you and Sweetie. LOVE YA! PS So glad you
were able to get half days - we can sleep in and then run the roads
    with you.

    me to Aunt L:
Sounds like a plan! I'm really excited about Mom &
[Sister H]'s visit. We are going to have a great time.

Maybe we can do another park thing for "everyone," but
simpler, so we can all escape when the Rubber Pig and/or UB
    become too tiresome.

I hope Sweetie makes up his mind about what he wants to do
for the weekend soon. It's aggravating not having my
ducks in a row, ya know? If he decides to come to
Elaine's, we have 1 vehicle that works so we won't
need a ride. But if he decides to do something else, I
will. I hate not having A Plan. Especially when other
people are waiting to hear from me in order to get
    their plans made.

So very glad that Chicken Little and The Boy Who Cried
Wolf are back together again. I hope they move in with
the Old Woman In The Shoe and live happily ever after.
Meanwhile, I'm putting on my Cleopatra hat and
    floating down De Nial.

    Jun. 28, 2004

    evile: hey :)
    SkyeDS: hey there :)
    evile: How was your weekend?
SkyeDS: Saturday was very wet, didn't do anything but watch movies.
SkyeDS: took the children to Drandmir Sunday, had a lovely time, got
rained on but just as we were leaving and I know I"m weird but it
felt nice until we got absolutely soaked
    SkyeDS: how was yours?
evile: I don't mind being out in rain, unless I'm driving in it.
evile: didn't do nothing but sit around eat and read and sleep.
    pretty boring.
SkyeDS: <writing a cover letter for Hugh, he laughed at me because
I'm pulling positive personal traits from his natal chart for his
    personal paragraph
SkyeDS: but I showed him the list of traits and he had to admit they
were all true and all applicable to the task at hand.
    evile: heh. that's cool.
evile: I talked to mom & [dad] on the phone Sunday. Nobody's heard
from Brother A. [dad] has a possible way to help him without giving Brother A a
chance to be lazy & take advantage.
    SkyeDS: do tell?
evile: He didn't give me any details, but apparently its' time-
sensitive & Brother A needs to get in touch soon for it to possibly
    happen. Very Mysterious.
SkyeDS: they do love their mysteries (sineater, [dad] and Brother A). It puts
me in mind of Sarah McLachlan's "Building a Mystery"
evile: heh. Like father like sons...or maybe it's just that Scorpio
    thing.
SkyeDS: all of the above maybe
evile: I called The Rubber Pig back on Friday, but luckily got the machine.
And she hasn't called me back (thank goodness)...so I guess that's
    that.
    SkyeDS: wonder what she wanted
SkyeDS: and if she called before or after they broke up
SkyeDS: in general I'm too overcurious by far, enough to kill many
    cats
evile: She called Thursday around Noon, apparently she called me,
Aunt L & Mom all at the same time, right after Brother A walked out the door.
SkyeDS: that's very interesting ~ CJS
evile: She got ahold of Mom & Aunt L, but I was at work & by the time I
got back in on Thurs. night it was too late to call. So i called
Friday around 6 & got the machine.
evile: I figured she was doing damage control & trying to paint
herself in a favorable light by getting in her version of the story
    before Brother A did.
SkyeDS: surely K/Mom and/or Aunt L will share what was said
evile: But apparently she told mom that it was all her fault.
evile: Basically, she reneged on all previous arrangements and said
he had to go to police academy or leave. He left.
SkyeDS: police academy? why so very specific? lol
SkyeDS: why not just get a real job with a real paycheck?
evile: The Rubber Pig wanted him to go to police academy. It was police
academy or the door, that was the choice.
    SkyeDS: very narrowminded
evile: No telling why she was that specific in her demand, but Iam
just thankful that Brother A wasn't cuntsmacked enough to think for
    himself and walk.
SkyeDS: but then I am a big proponent of mental periphery, enough to
    drive everyone around me nuts
evile: I also think that Brother A getting sick on Tuesday was a factor.
    SkyeDS: ?
evile: That messed up the relationship dynamic significantly. Brother A is
supposed to be the big strong loverman who does everything for poor
sick The Rubber Pig and the sweet little girls. heaven fucking forbid that he
be running at both ends and need some TLC himself.
SkyeDS: I guess obedience to one's husband does not extend to "in
    sickness and in health"
evile: Not in the church of the magical internet, anyway. :P
SkyeDS: and for all this they dragged you (and attempted to drag the
rest of us) to San Antonio on short notice for a mock wedding
    ceremony...
    evile: indeed.
evile: No wonder her oldest girl was so full of doubts. Mom probably
puts the girls through this sort of thing on a regular basis.
SkyeDS: I don't even want to imagine what my parents response would
be if sineater and I decided to have some sort of ceremony to bring
sonar0m into the family, and invited them.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I mean, no matter what spin they put on it, th at's basically
    what they did
SkyeDS: a mock ceremony to bring Brother A into the existing family that
    still includes Trey
evile: that's not how it was presented to anyone.
    SkyeDS: of course not
SkyeDS: but that's what it was
evile: It was whatever it was in The Rubber Pig's mind. And I'm glad it's over.
evile: I don't know how deeply she was denying or lying, if it was to
everyone else, or to herself and Brother A too.
SkyeDS: and hopefully will stay over.
SkyeDS: I can't stand it when people recycle relationships
evile: Brother A is stubborn enough to where he most likely won't go back.
    *fingers crossed*
SkyeDS: I think it's highly likely/probable that kaleon thought that
when we tried to start over again that we would recycle and just go
back to exactly The Way We Were (tm).
SkyeDS: and it seldom if ever works that way
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: well, call it stubborn or persistent (one has negative
connotations and one positive) I hope he doesn't go back
    evile: me too.
evile: I'm just worried because nobody's heard from him.
SkyeDS: nursing wounds, looking for work/working, probably too raw to
talk to anyone about what will be perceived as a mistake?
evile: I hope that's what it is.
evile: Mom says Brother A is generally happier when he's working & more
    productive at his hobby stuff.
evile: I just dont' want him doing anything stupid(er) because he
doesn't think he has any other options.
    SkyeDS: nods.
SkyeDS: the only way Brother A would be happy with police work is if he
    made detective
SkyeDS: and he'd probably be just as happy being a private eye
evile: Not even that. He does not do well with authority figures or
    regulations or paperwork...
evile: None of those career paths have ever crossed his mind, as far
as I know. Growing up, he never said anything about being interested
in law enforcement of any kind.
evile: expressed interest in working at the parks as a ranger but
dropped it as soon as he realized he'd have to go through
    police/paramilitary type training.
evile: The Rubber Pig has some interest in forensics & was apparently studying
it for aw hile, so maybe she had some vision of her doing police lab
work and Brother A doing the shitwork with the criminals in the streets.
SkyeDS: why I figured he'd be happier as a private eye (no police
    training)
SkyeDS: he can dig up secrets and stuff his own way
evile: Other than the people/shmooze factor, Brother A has ZERO
capabilities that would aid him in that field.
SkyeDS: as he doesn't want to be in that field, doesn't much matter
    anyway
SkyeDS: but I still wonder what the hell she was thinking
SkyeDS: I mean, the weirdness of the specificity of the demand just
    makes me wonder, wtf?
evile: I think she was making an unreasonable demand to see if she
could get him to do it.
SkyeDS: she already did that (w/ Paulie)
    evile: yup.
evile: But with Paulie it was not a my wya or the highway situation.
evile: Or at least Brother A did not treat it as such.
evile: Maybe The Rubber Pig is so miserable & insane that she didn't feel like
she deserved Brother A so she did whatever she could to fulfil her image
of herself as being unlovable & someone tnat nobody will stay with.
SkyeDS: maybe she did this because she didn't get the results she
    wanted w/ Paulie
SkyeDS: that hoop didn't work so let's try another
    evile: could be.
evile: One of her key phrases was/is "I can't believe"--
    SkyeDS: wonder why that is.
evile: So maybe she made that her lack of belief made it into
reality. "I can't believe this man married me!" I can't believe you
came to the wedding! I Cant' believe I found someone so good for me
    and the girls!
    SkyeDS: self fulfilling prophecy
    evile: yup. sad.
evile: Trying to understand crazy people makes me want to drink.
SkyeDS: complete non sequitur and apropos of nothing but I note with
a certain amount of satisfaction that SCOTUS did exactly what I said
    they'd have to
    evile: excellent :)
evile: ti's always fun being right :)
SkyeDS: nobody I've been saying that to for years now will
acknowledge that, but it is still personal satisfaction
    evile: that's what counts.
SkyeDS: brb - food in face time
    SkyeDS: bk
    evile: rehi :)
evile: I got phone duty on Friday, so I'll be done 3-ish :) Whee!
    SkyeDS: lucky you :P
evile: yeah. Sometimes this place aint' so bad.
evile: If I can live without a reliable vehicle for a year and a
half, and assuming other expenses stay about teh same, I can be out
of bad plastic debt in a year & a half. A year if I'm really
agressive & give up most fun things.
SkyeDS: Genus was the best thing I ever did to get rid of a mountain
    of bad plastic.
evile: I have heard mixed things about credit management cos'.
evile: My big plastic co. gave me a 2% balance transfer thingy, so
I've got 9 grand at 2 percent and no hits to my credit rating.
    SkyeDS: cool :D
evile: It gets to be tiresome throwing 4 and 5 grand at a debt and
having only $2-300 go away over the course of a year.
evile: And then once my debts are gone, I can start saving for home
improvements/repairs, which will be desperately needed by that time.
SkyeDS: I don't think we're going to be able to refi in time to get
the really good rates that are already starting to disappear <sigh>
SkyeDS: we're barely staying afloat right now and this month had a
whole bunch of unexpected expenses on top of it all
evile: Sweetie refuses to even run our number past a banker. peeves me.
SkyeDS: but when (if I guess) sineater gets that job on Wednesday, he
will make enough to get us out of the hole and save up for the next
    famine
    evile: *fingers crossed* hope so!
evile: It would be nice to get on a nice even keel with all this
stuff...but that seems hard to do.
SkyeDS: we had a nice time at Drandmir
SkyeDS: I'm looking forward to spending some riding time there after
CRW and all the other events for the summer are over
SkyeDS: I don't think SCA's doing anything else EQ for the rest of
the summer, it's too damn hot
evile: I wish I'd known you were going to be out there... :(
SkyeDS: I wish I could have told you
    evile: oh well.
SkyeDS: but it involved negotiation with sineater's attitude, and that's
always tricky and time consuming and results in last minute decision
    execution
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: (ie he didn't want to go, I had to prove to him it wasn't
    going to rain)
    evile: yup.
evile: I dont' mind rain, unless Im driving in it, but I really am
not a fan of humidity or mud.
SkyeDS: he put up forecasts and I put up an animated actual radar
evile: And that was pretty much Sunday in a nutshell.
    SkyeDS: it was very humid.
SkyeDS: not terribly muddy, but that park is good about that
SkyeDS: which is why we went to Drandmir instead of to Round Rock
    evile: aha.
evile: Oh well. I probably needed a quiet weekend at home, in
    preparation for this next one...
SkyeDS: if you end up wanting to run away, call me
SkyeDS: sineater's getting the black truck fixed at my parents behest
(and on their credit card) as we speak, so we will have two vehicles,
    one fairly fuel efficient, again
    evile: good :)
evile: I won't be able to escape, unfo. I'll either be at the mercy
of Sweetie & whatever camping he decides to do, or Aunt L & Uncle B.
evile: The good news is that the Villagers of the Damned got a better
    offer & so won't be at Elaine's.
    SkyeDS: lol that's good
evile: Yeah, only one brat kid instead of 6.
evile: or 5 1/2 or whatever.
evile: Sweetie's taking his van radiator somewhere for them to look at it
today. We may have 2 running vehicles soon.
    SkyeDS: two running vehicles rawks
SkyeDS: I still want a little hybrid eventually
SkyeDS: I think ideally for us, a little hybrid and a big ton dually
SkyeDS: although if we work different schedules we might want to keep
the little black truck running as long as we can
SkyeDS: we can't both use the hybrid on different schedules
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: brb, running to COA and back
evile: I gotta go soon, anyway,so I'll sign off & give hugs now.

    evile: Happy Happy Joy Joy!
    SkyeDS: tgif girl friend ;)
evile: The Rubber Pig kicked Brother A out yesterday. Apparently the 'marriage' is
    at an end.
SkyeDS: /me picks up jaw which just rolled from lap onto floor
evile: yesterday was a wonderful day. No more Littlest Nazi at work.
    No more Fake SIL.
SkyeDS: what's Brother A going to do now.
evile: No tellin. He went to his friend Ron's parents house last
night & hasn't called anyone in the family. The Rubber Pig left a msg.
onthemachine yesterday, but I dont' know if I really want to call her
back. she's just some nutty stranger now. I don't need to listen to
her for the sake of family peace.
    SkyeDS: oh hell no
evile: If she calls me again today, I might listen if I don't have
    anything beter to do.
SkyeDS: well whatever we have to do to get him the hell out of dodge
we'll do of course, just let us know
evile: Ron has a security job and may be able to get Brother A one, too,
now that Brother A is supposedly off the Weed
SkyeDS: that stuff tests for a pretty long time tho if they do a UA
SkyeDS: but they didn't do a UA on me when I hired on for security so
    <shrug>
evile: Well see, I guess. As [dad] said, Brother A tends to take safety
nets and turn them into hammocks.
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: He needs to grow up. He needs to ge ta job and he needs to
support himself. He needs to learn that nobodys' going to pay h im to
be cute and funny and play all day...that's just not the real world,
    sorry kid.
SkyeDS: guess he doesn't want to come back to Austin then
evile: Haven't heard from him, have no idea what his plans might be
    now.
evile: I wish there was a way to help him without ending up taking
    care of him...
evile: Nobody in the family can afford that.
evile: I am praying that Brother A didn't leave any bun in the oven on his
way out....hopefully the surgery at the beginning of June kept them
    from having relations
SkyeDS: that would "smell very much bad, ociffer" (Jeff Foxworthy)
    evile: heh. indeed.
evile: Oh well. Thank god it's over. I don't know what I've done
lately to deserve such blessings, but I am very very grateful.
evile: I think I need a nice bottle of champagne today after work :)
    evile: And I dont' think I'll see F. 9/11 iwth everyoen tonight--I
know I need to, and I know it'll make me mad...but I just dont' want
anything to Marsh My Mellow today.
SkyeDS: I haven't seen any Moore movies
SkyeDS: I don't know as I want to
SkyeDS: I don't know what good things I've done in past lives, but I
have Arthur and the girls and many nice peoples in my life now so
evile: Well, he has that whole Oliver Stone thing going on, where he
likes to play fast & loose with history & facts in order to make a
    bigger impression on the audience.
SkyeDS: you probably already have sussed that I have issues with both
    sides of the political coin
evile: That's fine for a fictional movie. but this man supposedly is
    a 'documentarian' or whatever...ya know?
SkyeDS: but all I ask either side is that they do their research, get
their facts straight and quote people right
SkyeDS: which I guess is too much to ask
    evile: exactly.
evile: And you can find enough FACTS to support either side, so why
    bother with all the lies?
SkyeDS: and because I am too archly liberal about some things, I
    can't be a conservative
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and because I'm too archly conservative about some things, I
    can't be a liberal
SkyeDS: so I'm an outcast (surprise, surprise, surprise)
    evile: politics sucks anyway.
SkyeDS: everything would be better if I were benevolent dictator LOL
    evile: someone would still bitch...
SkyeDS: and policies would get reversed every three days or whenever
I found a better way of doing something hehe
evile: heh. bureaucrazy doesn't work that fast...new ideas take years
    to implement. :P
evile: we went paperless going on 5 years ago and we're not
completely online with our 'new' system yet.
SkyeDS: doctors tell us that their "paperless" uses more paper than
    the old way
    evile: *dingdingding* exactly! It's infuriating.
evile: Looks like it's going to rain out all my ideas & plans for the
    weekend.
SkyeDS: does look bad don't it
    evile: yeah. SUCK!
evile: assuming it's not raining when I leave here, I'm walking to
HEB for a nice bottle of Veuve Cliquot.
SkyeDS: and of course it starts raining right as I need to walk out
the door for my dates with the SOS and the courthouse <sigh>
    evile: ugh. got an umbrella?
    SkyeDS: borrow one of his
    evile: good.

SkyeDS: ok, going to the SOS a nd the courthouse now. might not be
back till 4:30 :( if that is the case, hugs now, and be safe in the

    SkyeDS: back
    evile: hey :)
    evile: How did it go?
SkyeDS: the filing at the SOS was completely uneventful (as usual),
and the research, as I was afraid would be the case, was fruitless
    evile: oh well...
SkyeDS: I didn't have enough to search on in the first place, but I
was afraid of that from the outset
    evile: yeah...
evile: I was reminded that I have Sangria at home. Why bother with
nasty ol' champagne :P I'm already good to go for my little
    celebration of Life Is Good
SkyeDS: I like lambrusco, it's cheap, and it's good if I can get it
    from Italy (not riunite)
    evile: *nods*
evile: well, it's about time for me to git.
evile: take care going home, people are talking about lightning &
thunder all over the place. You know how weather makes people drive
    all crazy in Austin...

Sineater: i renamed my shortcut "i4q"
    evile: whee!!!
Sineater: ok; so; what happened w/ Brother A???
Sineater: did The Rubber Pig just decide to stop being obedient or something???
evile: The Rubber Pig wanted him to get into the police academy. He said he
wasn't comfortable with that, and she gave him the choice of going
to police academy or leaving. So he left.
    Sineater: alriiiiight!!!
Sineater: well ya gotta have priorities
evile: What's a good obedient Jewish wife to do when her husband
    won't do what she says??
Sineater: and perhaps maybe (slight chance) Brother A figured wuv, twoo
wuv, wouldn't make him make a choice like that...?
    evile: Maybe so.
    Sineater: hopefully
Sineater: is that why she came and got the kids?
evile: No. This happened yesterday. On Sunday when they got the kids,
they were still together and everything was hunkydory.
Sineater: wanted to call Aunt L yesterday but phones were... offline
Sineater: ....???? so why they come and get the kids?
evile: They came up to go to my picnic, and then The Rubber Pig decided she
    just missed them TOO MUCH!
evile: So she spur of the moment decided to take them back.
Sineater: um. she is fucking unstable.
    evile: yes indeedy.
Sineater: Brother A is much better off as far away from them all as
possible. but, think we kenew that already
    evile: yup.
    Sineater: well. there it is.
Sineater: so where is Brother A now? still in sa?
evile: Anothe rpossible contributing factor: apparently he got very
sick Monday or Tuesday and could not take care of The Rubber Pig & the kids,
needed taking care of. Perhaps she was not as nurturing as he would
    have hoped.
Sineater: sigh, i guess the power of the almighty internet just
    wasn't enough...
Sineater: oh heaven forbid her only houseboy hojon get ill himself,
better call the agency and have them send a new one.
    Sineater: how is he now?
evile: He is in San Antonio. The Rubber Pig is the only one who's called our
fam, Brother A hasn't called anyone as far as I know. Last we heard from
The Rubber Pig, Brother A took the van and drove to his friend Ron's parents'
house, and then Trey was going to get the Van back from him after he
    got off work.
    Sineater: nod
Sineater: bet she wants to get back together in a week or less.
evile: The Rubber Pig is going to her Mom with the kids & Paulie the dog. Trey
is going to live with his dad, and Brother A...??
evile: Well the good thing about Brother A's stubbornness is that once he
decides something, that's IT and nobody's going to talk him out of it.
    evile: I hope. Please god.
Sineater: oh good. if that's the case maybe she'll leave Brother A well
    enough alone.
Sineater: Brother A will find a way to get by. he always does
Sineater: ouch. trey is going to go back and live with lamar?
    Sineater: ewww
evile: Well, that's The Rubber Pig's story as told to Aunt L & relayed to me.
evile: I came home from work yesterday & there was a msg. from The Rubber Pig
on my mahcine, very tearful & distraught. I figured I'd call Aunt L to
see whatup before subjecting myself to The Rubber Pig's drama.
Sineater: dad's opinion of lamar: he's a king size shit. k/mom's
opinion of lamar: he's an asshole grande con queso but he throws a
    good party.
Sineater: ??? why The Rubber Pig call you?
evile: Now that I know they're broken up, I am wondering if I should
bother to call her back. She's just a stranger now, I don't have to
make nice to her for the sake of family peace.
evile: Aunt L & My theory is that The Rubber Pig is trying to cover all the
bases, get her side of the story out to everyone FIRST so that we
will all see her side and take her side.
    Sineater: ohhh. the X method.
evile: I'm sorry, but Brother A could have screwed the Queen of England in
the middle of The Rubber Pig's bed and I'd still be on Brother A's side.
Sineater: ew. she's a ten million year old prune.
evile: well, but you see my point?
Sineater: and i hear she was never a good lay.
Sineater: nod. and just from what i've heard already, same here.
evile: And I'm the same way about you...I don't care what you do, you
are my brother, I love you, and I will always take your side against
ANYONE. Even if you are the one who screwed up.
Sineater: i hope Brother A calls sometime soon. or maybe comes up if he can
evile: Me too. Aunt L asked The Rubber Pig to have Brother A call if she talks to him
    again.
evile: [dad] thinks Brother A is too embarassed & doesn't want to deal with
the unspoken "told ya so" that he'll get from everyone.
Sineater: i would guess that The Rubber Pig is probably callnig him to
browbeat and plead on a regular basis :(
Sineater: that's likely. however no "told you so" from me
Sineater: just "glad you are out of there alive"
evile: Not me either. Brother A & Paulie are my priorities. Whatever it
takes to get them to a safe sane place.
    Sineater: nod
    evile: *sigh*
Sineater: dad was very upset at the prospect of being grandfather to
3 kids, 2 of which she apparently couldn't be bothered to know the
    names of the fathers of
    evile: *nods*
    Sineater: gaah. what a mess
evile: I was thinking [dad] would be grateful to have just 1 boomerang
kid rather than getting saddled with unwanted condom waste. But he
says Brother A can NOT stay in Greencastle for any length of time. He can
    visit, that's it.
Sineater: if trey is indeed getting out of there too that's good as
    well imho
evile: *nods* Good for Trey. Poor kiddo.
    Sineater: sigh.
evile: I really hope Al didn't leave any bun in the oven....
Sineater: well she hasn't had the sense to seek child support for any
    of the others
    evile: true enough.
Sineater: and bet me, how much would you wager, that there is a good
chance of there being at least one other sperm donor in the requisite
    time frame?
evile: ugh. true enough. But since Brother A doesn't have a pot to piss
in, would he be able to get a paternity test?
Sineater: and if she tries to pull that shit on Brother A i will help him
get the kid. and kill The Rubber Pig.
Sineater: i would spring for it. and not sure but i think if it's for
a court case there may be other ways too
evile: Test first. I'm not taking some cuckoos egg into the bosom of
    my family. Sorry.
evile: Even if Brother A thinks its his, I would want to make DAMN sure
    first.
    Sineater: nod.
Sineater: seeing as how he is the only one of us likely to produce
    children at all :(
    evile: this is true.
    Sineater: *sigh*
    Sineater: and big fucking eyeroll
    evile: me too....
evile: Sister H says she's going to try to have a baby when she's 26.
What a concept! *planning* your family so you're in a good place in
life to actually be a good parent!
Sineater: holy shit! that's... that's unamerican!
evile: Did you hear Kerry wants to give a 5 grand per kid 'refund' to
    parents???
Sineater: either you're with the irresponsible fat babydroppers or
    you're with the terrorists!
Sineater: i like kerry less and less the more he opens his mouth.
evile: I really hope it's an empty campaign promise that he has no
    intention of keeping.
Sineater: but is he worse yet than a junior league hitler wannabe
(abetted by the apple dumpling gang)?
    evile: ugh.
Sineater: that's why this election i'm voting for howard the duck.
evile: heh. that would be awesome.
Sineater: there's a marvel figure out (think it's silver surfer) that
comes with an in-scale pissed off howard. but the package doesn't
    even mention him...
    evile: *laff* how bizarre!
Sineater: got to go to bartlett and pay the power bill. take care
    evile: *hugs* love ya!!
    Sineater: 8-)

I got home from work yesterday & there was a tearful-sounding message
from The Rubber Pig on the machine. I did not want to deal with whatever it
was unprepared, so I called Aunt L to see if she knew what was up.

Apparently, Brother A told The Rubber Pig he didn't want to go to the police
academy and The Rubber Pig gave him a choice to do that or leave, so he left.

He drove the van to Lee's parents' house & Trey was going to go to
    get it later.

I don't know what Brother A is doing, he hasn't called anyone yet.

The Rubber Pig has Paulie for now. She is taking the dog & the girls & going
to live with her mother in Blanco for a while.

Trey is going home to his parents.

Brother A....? Who knows. Aunt L has visions of sending him back to
Greencastle, or to Montana with Mom. He hasn't had a job in over a
    year. Very messed up situation.

BUT...there was/is no bun in the oven *fingers crossed* and so Mom &
[dad] at least won't be dealing with boomerang child with grandkid in
tow. Thank heavens for small favors.

I am sure Brother A is angry & hurt by all of this...but thankfully his
stubbornness will serve him well in this case by (please god) keeping
him from changing his mind and going back to The Rubber Pig.

    evile: howdy :)
    SkyeDS: hey you!
    evile: I'm glad it's Wednesday.
SkyeDS: lol would be happier if it were Friday but oh well
SkyeDS: what you doin this weekend?
evile: Saturday evening is a bellydance & fire show at Natural Magic.
Sunday is a picnic/tubing trip in San Marcos that we might/might not
    go to.
SkyeDS: now that the trailer is fixed, I want to go somewhere nearby
    (gas)
evile: No idea what you consider 'nearby'....
SkyeDS: halfway pondering either the lake or round rock
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: every time I get lunch out of the fridge I am amused at the
stash of alcohol all over this office, lol
    evile: Lawyers...
evile: Aunt L just let me know that the fireworks at Elaine's are
actually on July 3. so...my options are now 1) fireworks & hotdogs
with the Village of the Damned or 2) camping in the weeds with the
    weed-smokers.
SkyeDS: we are always happy to hide you
evile: Sweetie also has a possible 3 rd option, camping at Pace Bend with
the VW people. Who are also weedies...but they are subtle about it
and there are no children participating.
SkyeDS: I still want to investigate PB too, sounds cool
evile: I still haven't been. But given that Sweetie will decide what he
wants to do for July 4 weekend midafternoon on Saturday, to put
arrival time sometime after 10 PM...I probably won't be doing
    whatever he decides to do...
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: And then we still have the transportation issue to consider,
in that it's pretty hard for 2 people to go 2 places at the same time
    in 1 car.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: Aunt L said she & Uncle B would be happy to give me a ride to
Elaines, but then I have no means of escape if the 4 villagers of the
damned + Pat's brat get to be too much for me.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: At least if I'm camping with the white trash weedies, I can
just decide it's time for bed and go off to the tent.
    SkyeDS: point
evile: And honestly, with the VW people, it's never been an issue.
The weedies go off someplace private and do their thing and dont'
offer it to the kids, and I'm fine with that.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: But I'm not going to go out in the middle of the night
Saturday, sleep overnight, and come home Sunday. That's ridiculous, a
waste of time, and pointless from the POV of wanting to hike &
    explore the park.
evile: Oh well. We've still got a week and a half to wrangle over it,
    I guess.
SkyeDS: I am lucky that the boys don't do that to me
    evile: yup.
evile: If there was something I really wanted to do, I could pitch a
fit and make it happen...but none of the options are any more or less
appetizing, they all contain some positive points and many points of
    suckage....so I'm just like "whatever"...
SkyeDS: you can come with us
    SkyeDS: you might be bored
evile: I really wouldn't care to inflict myself on you for any length
of time in any situation where one or all of us couldn't get away if
    we needed to....
    SkyeDS: true
evile: Not trying to be mean, or critisize...I'm a prickly person,
and we both know sineater can be that way too, and sometimes you & I rub
each other wrong...it's not anybody's fault, it's just the way it is.
    SkyeDS: no offense taken :)
    evile: Ok. *hugs*
SkyeDS: in general I hate not having my own ride
    SkyeDS: hugs :)
evile: Yeah...I really miss having reliable transpo. :( But not
quite enough yet to do anything about it.
evile: And I still think it's ridiculous to have so much driveway
    sculpture.
    SkyeDS: ?
    SkyeDS: oh the multiple vehicles
    evile: yup.
evile: Maybe if I use the only working one more, and inconvenience
Sweetie more, the other(s) will get fixed...
    SkyeDS: might be
evile: Asking nicely doesn't work. Nagging doesn't work. So I just
have to get tricky. WHich is interesting because Sweetie says he doesn't
like being manipulated. But after Asking and Nagging, what else is
    there??
SkyeDS: I have no clue what else there would be
evile: exactly. It's wierd to have to be sneaky & tricky...that is so
    NOT me.
SkyeDS: I've told the boys when they seemed peevish that I can go do
by myself, and they can stay home
    evile: good plan :)
evile: The good news is that apparently the reservations I made
Saturday for Mom & Sister H are good. I love the internet--using their
last names & the confirmation #'s I was able to find their travel
    plans :)
    SkyeDS: tis good
SkyeDS: and no chilluns for them to deal with
evile: CRW just got bombed out of the sky, far as that weekend's
    plans go :)
evile: Well, Brother A & The Rubber Pig will want to come visit, or will want Mom
to come to san Antonio, but that's different than having them all by
    herself.
    SkyeDS: "sorry, no time"
evile: She does want to meet them, just does not want to parent them.
evile: I'm hoping that by the time they get here, some of this Krav
Maga will actually be making a difference in my appearance. So far my
weight's stayed the same even though I do feel a lot better.
evile: The bellydance/fire show at NM Sat. Night is in their
backyard, so I'm sure Arthur would be fine, probably not the horses :P
    SkyeDS: rofl
SkyeDS: parking there is bad enough I can't imagine trying to f ind
    trailer space
evile: I've parked further back in the neighborhood on occasion.
evile: I just got denied vacation during Mom & Hollys visit..SUCK.
Plan B, I'm asking if I can work half-days all week.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: Can't give me a raise, can't give me a promotion, can't give
me the leave days I asked for...why am I working here, again??
SkyeDS: security and benefits and a paycheck
SkyeDS: < will trade jobs with you?
evile: I would never work in a 2 person office again...the one time I
did tha, it was a fricken nightmare. I don't have the personality for
    it.
evile: I could have the same insurance if I was a welfare crack whore.
evile: I guess it is nice to have a forced retirement fund. Otherwise
I would probably not have the discipline to do one for myself.
evile: The Parks & Wildlife job I went for went pfft. *sigh*
    SkyeDS: :(
SkyeDS: I would like to be a ranger if I were in shape
    evile: Not enough $.
evile: Plus you have to go through some kind of police academy type
    thing.ick.
SkyeDS: got to be better than what I make now
    evile: Park Ranger 1: $8.43/hour
    SkyeDS: lol nm
evile: Park Ranger 5 is $-wise on par with what I'm making now
evile: Their office jobs seem to be better paying than the field jobs.
    evile: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/involved/jobvac/04_39_467.htm
    http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/involved/jobvac/04_40_472.htm
evile: Miracle of miracles, The Rubber Pig left the swim clothes she borrowed
at Aunt L & Uncle B's, so Aunt L's giving it back to me when I go by tomorrow
    evening :)
    SkyeDS: awesome
evile: Yup. So The Rubber Pig may not be a total thoughtless moocher...
SkyeDS: it may be that she just needs appropriate behavior modeled
    for her
    evile: could be.
SkyeDS: how is Aunt L enjoying retirement
evile: I think she's a little bored, but probably grateful for the
    boredom after last week!
    SkyeDS: would think so
evile: Elaine is retired, too, so they spend time together during
    the week.
SkyeDS: some people seem to work harder after they retire lol
evile: Fridays she & Uncle B go out to their property & work on clearing
    brush, rocks, etc.
SkyeDS: my parents & gramma seemed to enjoy that
evile: to each their own, I guess...
    SkyeDS: poor Hugh
SkyeDS: Travis Co Sheriff called because they think his daughter's
    car is supsiciously parked
SkyeDS: and he just had to go see his dad's dr again
    evile: yuck.
evile: That kind of stuff is why I never, ever say "it could be
    worse" anymore!
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: Yeah...never tempt fate. the gods have a rough sense of
    humor...
SkyeDS: never name the well from which you will not drink
SkyeDS: the gods will find a sewer treatment plant and drop you in it
    evile: heh.
evile: well, another work day draws to an end...gotta walk papers
    around.
    SkyeDS: bout to storm
evile: yay...just in time for the walk to the bus stop! Oh well,I
    have my umbrella.

    evile: hi :)
SkyeDS: mornin! how did it go Sunday?
    evile: Ok. No major drama.
    SkyeDS: who showed?
evile: Aunt L, Uncle B, The Rubber Pig's kids, The Rubber Pig, Brother A, Erin, Marca, Marca's son
Sean, Jadey & her dog, and Victoria.
SkyeDS: "interesting" ~ Capt. Jack Sparrow.
evile: *shrug* the groups stayed pretty separate, except for Jadey,
who was lovely & sociable with everybody.
SkyeDS: sineater had a long talk with his dad Sunday night. We didn't
get back from Houston till 8 am Sunday morning because a tired
shredded on the horse trailer at 1 am headed out of Houston
SkyeDS: cost us $146 to get it fixed (we still have no spare for the
trailer) and whatever it's going to cost to get the welding done so
    it doesn't happen again.
    evile: ouch!
SkyeDS: spent yesterday finding a welder for the trailer.
    SkyeDS: rather than working.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: apparently [dad] is very mad but still isn't going to come
down here because he can't do anything if he did
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: so no drama from The Rubber Pig.
SkyeDS: I find it interesting that I have to take Darvoset every
night when I get home to cut the pain from my work commute -- while
she's in so much pain that she can't keep her own kids but she can
make a holiday drive from SA.
evile: She told Jadey & Victoria her life story with respect to her
marital history & childrens' conceptions, but it wasn't that awful.
evile: Oh, that's the good news: she missed them so much that she
took them home. Eventually. After staying at Aunt L & Uncle B's until 11
    PM on a work night.
SkyeDS: took them home for the whole summer I hope
evile: don't know, don't care. Hopefully Aunt L's learned her lesson
    about "How to Say NO"
    SkyeDS: very hopefully
evile: Oh, and The Rubber Pig borrowed my mix-n-match 2 pc. swimsuit & a t
shirt and I am sure I won't see it again. :(
evile: (granted, I'm a heffer, so there's no way I could wear the
    swimsuit, but still...its MINE.)
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: Oh well. It could have been worse. Everyone seemed to have a
pleasant enough time, or at least not be so ungracious as to say they
had a bad time in front of me :)
evile: And the unpleasant things were totally beyond the scope of my
preparations & control: pool was crowded, it was very hot, and there
    were flies.
evile: I'm pretty sure I've thrown my last party.
SkyeDS: for the summer? or ever.
    evile: ever.
SkyeDS: that strikes me like saying I"m never going to ride again.
    why?
evile: it's just not enough fun for me anymore.
evile: The last 2-3 parties I've thrown, I've enjoyed the prep, but
when the actual party guests showed up everything was just a blur and
then it was over and there was a mess to clean up.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: we got to Houston and nobody else showed up
SkyeDS: everybody had individual fires to put out
    evile: that sucks!
SkyeDS: so we went to visit with [Sineater's mom] and took two of Mark & Mimi's
    adopteds out to the park
SkyeDS: so none of us rode but the kids
SkyeDS: and then we tried to go home and the rest is history
SkyeDS: so now practice isn't in Elgin this weekend it's in Houston
SkyeDS: and guess what. I don't want to go.
evile: Well, at least you got some pleasant family time in Houston.
evile: Couldn't sineater take Jessie by himself to Elgin?
SkyeDS: not going to be in Elgin
    SkyeDS: they moved it
    evile: Oh, yuck.
evile: *re-reads* duh. sorry 'bout that.
SkyeDS: I might ask Lorraine if she's going
    SkyeDS: but even then
SkyeDS: they're going to Diane's, and she keeps more than 40 horses
    on 9 acres
SkyeDS: and she says she has room to put us and the horses up? like,
    where?
evile: ? no idea what her setup is like...
evile: That's too many horses for the acreage, BTW.
SkyeDS: ok, 9 acres is 2 acres shy of what I have
SkyeDS: and I have a puny little 1450 sq foot house
    SkyeDS: no barn, no arena
SkyeDS: which you may be sure she has to have (barn & arena) because
she is United States Equestrian Team in Dressage
    SkyeDS: (ooh aah)
    evile: *shrug*
SkyeDS: the Lippizaner mare was very pretty
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: she also carries a bitch union card
SkyeDS: and does not hesitate to use it
evile: that's fairly typical of 'horse people' in my experience.
SkyeDS: Randy asked how practice went, and I told him, well, once we
got past the "boots & helmet" problem the boys had fun and Mirage
    finally did the quintain
SkyeDS: and he said what boots & helmet problem so I told him
SkyeDS: see, I was answering my friend randy's questions
SkyeDS: he heard my answers as "Earl Marshal" so now he's going to go
wreak havoc in the equestrian camp
SkyeDS: I asked him, just please, don't use my name
    evile: ??
SkyeDS: don't go in there with a flame thrower and the first thing
out of your mouth be "Skye said"
evile: what, they weren't going to let people play because they dont'
have the right equipment or something?
SkyeDS: the boys didn't have boots w/ heels
    SkyeDS: nor helmets
evile: And you had a problem with this....?
SkyeDS: there are lots of people including Alexis, the former KEO,
who don't wear booted heels and NOBODY competes with helmets (except
    Bridget & Gideon)
SkyeDS: but Bridget and Gideon first said, well it's against the rules
evile: aha. so it waas just a matter of the rules being applied
    unfairly rather than uniformly.
SkyeDS: and I said with all due respect the rules recommend them but
don't require them, and the boys were both qualified by Lorraine
wearing exactly what they have on now
SkyeDS: so then it was insurance
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and I said, well, ditto
SkyeDS: and then it was "well it's up to the property owner" who
    didn't give a damn
    SkyeDS: and I said look
SkyeDS: if it's an issue, home is not that far away, we'll just go
    home, no big
SkyeDS: so when I told Randy this, it put him in Earl Marshal ass
    kicking mode
SkyeDS: and I told him, it isn't Lorraine, the KEO, it's all the
    little underlings
SkyeDS: so don't jump her shit, jump the people directly responsible
SkyeDS: and I warned Lorraine and Linda while I was in Houston that
Randy would be on a rampage.
evile: Maybe the concern is because sonar0m & sineater are still kinda new
& need all the protective gear they can get...? or so people think?
SkyeDS: I don't know what Bridget thinks
SkyeDS: but she's made the mistake of getting into it with Linda
    before
SkyeDS: and Linda is Lorraine's right hand
SkyeDS: and she makes fun of people who ride Western, to their faces
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: and this is why I chose HFS over Bryn Gwlad more than a
decade ago when I had friends in both.
SkyeDS: all the dressage people in SCA seem to act this way.
SkyeDS: and I told Randy, look, they do know stuff I don't know, that
    I want to know
SkyeDS: so you ignore the bathwater but you don't throw out the baby.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: but I told him, you will see and hear shit that you know is
wrong, even at your basic level of knowledge, from these high and
    mighty people
SkyeDS: but there is no point in engaging in a debate with them over
    what they do wrong
SkyeDS: because they have serious God complexes, and it's like
    teaching a pig to dance.
SkyeDS: and then they'll be stingy with what they do know that is
right, that I would like to know, and you should want to know
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: thing is, he's Earl Marshal. That means all of these people
    including Lorraine answer to him
SkyeDS: and I can't get him out of that mindset
SkyeDS: his term ends at AAA the 2nd weekend of July, and hopefully
he will be too distracted to follow through on what he wants to do.
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: I told him, look, Bridget answers to Lorraine, Lorraine is my
friend, if it were an issue to me, I'd just call Lorraine.
SkyeDS: but he put that together with the underling marshals giving
me grief at Steppes, and said, they need to be made to stop
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: and I said, but, they are made to stop, all I have to do is
    take it up with Lorraine.
SkyeDS: they didn't get anywhere at Steppes, because Lorraine shut
    them down.
SkyeDS: I mean, in theory, I completely agree with him
    evile: good.
SkyeDS: but I don't like the practice of rocking the boat when there
are other ways and means of accomplishing goals
    evile: exactly
SkyeDS: and the last thing I need, with all the people who don't seem
to think much of me, is to have Randy go in there flamethrower
    blazing and saying "Skye said"
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: I suppose I ought to be flattered that my friend the Earl
    Marshal would do that.
    evile: yeah...
SkyeDS: but it reminds me too much of the repercussions that always
happened when Dad went to school as a Head Administrator to jump
another HA's case over some teacher infraction
SkyeDS: I don't know, I'm probably in little kid mode again, I know I
    need to stop that.
evile: Well, you've pointed out a problem, now just step back and let
the people in charge deal with it.
SkyeDS: it is interesting to note, however, that Alexis is apparently
running this next practice, at Diane's place. And neither Alexis nor
Diane wear helmets. And Alexis wears medieval boots that are
    completely flatsoled with no heel.
    evile: wierd.
SkyeDS: my thought is, Assistant Managers always seem to have more
god complex than their manager bosses.
SkyeDS: hence why assistant is spelled, a-s-s....
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I believe I notice a difference in attitude and behavior when
these underMarshals are around Lorraine and Alexis.
    evile: interesting.
SkyeDS: so what I think they're doing is throwing around their own
weight in their own ponds, but they seem to be too scared or to know
better than to throw that weight around anywhere else.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: and it suits me just fine to hide behind Lorraine's skirts or
    Randy's. <shrug>
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I am a paralegal. I have no power other than that of my
    attorney.
SkyeDS: but my doglike loyalty to my attorney is well rewarded.
SkyeDS: when I give a memo to my attorney relating the facts of some
abuse, I rest assured in knowing it ain't gonna happen again if
    someone else values their job.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: no doubt they do deserve it, and I know "lisa" rules (what
they call rules individuals try to enforce that aren't official
rules, I don't know who Lisa is, no one will tell me)
SkyeDS: "Lisa" rules drive Lorraine nuts just like they do Randy.
SkyeDS: So if he approaches Lorraine about it and doesn't like get
combative with her about it, maybe it will all be a good thing
    eventually.
evile: as well they should, they undermine the authority of the real
    people incharge.
SkyeDS: part of my double gemini heritage is that I"m supposed to
    have people skills
SkyeDS: but I don't seem to do well when complex (seem complex to me
anyway) political maneuverings and all these little cabals and
    cliques abound
evile: people skills do not always translate successfully
into 'socially retarded geek group' skills.
SkyeDS: I think I am too simple. I'm nice to each and every one
until someone gives me more than ample reason not to be. I have this
conflicting desire to be liked, but I don't want to have to learn or
put effort into whatever one does to be "in"
evile: I can't figure anything out about people, so I'm as baffled as
    you by the whole mess.
SkyeDS: I understood this about myself in grade school
SkyeDS: I didn't want to be "in," but if I were going to be disliked,
I just wanted to be left alone
SkyeDS: as opposed to openly persecuted
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: I didn't want to hang out at the mall, cruise state line, go
    to parties and get drunk
SkyeDS: that was not interesting to me
SkyeDS: I would love to learn dressage and make efforts to do so in
    my spare time
SkyeDS: but I can't afford formal lessons right now
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and I"m not giving up what I know I know either
    evile: right.
SkyeDS: I had two music teachers growing up, that I loved maybe more
    than my mother
SkyeDS: and the one I had from like 10 to 18, never told me I
    couldn't do
SkyeDS: when I started playing in church, instead of, "don't/can't do
that" she said, if you're gonna do it do it right and took me to the
bookstore and showed me how to recognize a book written at my level
    evile: very cool
SkyeDS: ditto when I started doing pops & jazz for general audiences
    in various venues
SkyeDS: Peter is a very good yoga instructor
SkyeDS: I just don't pay any attention to his "vegetarian" spiel.
SkyeDS: so between the yoga thing and the music thing, seems to me, I
can take up an informal study of dressage without giving up the
    knowledge base I already have.
SkyeDS: and if the purists want to look down at me, that's ok too. I
just wish they'd be quiet about it, but wishin ain't gettin
    evile: yup
evile: I think Yoga has been helpful in Krav Maga. I know it has been
for the stretches, but I think that whole coordinating breath to
movement yoga thing is applicable in self-defense, too.
SkyeDS: interconnectedness is of great interest to me
evile: I didn't think about it the first 2 classes, but in #3 the
movement was becoming easier so it's easier to focus on body position
& breath in addition to kicking/hitting the target.
SkyeDS: general note (hehe): do not piss off Kelly or evilE, they
will literally kick your ass for you.
evile: I also noticed in the stretching part of the class, the
instructors dont' say anything about posture, which is key in Yoga.
So, that's a case of taking what I know and what isn't being taught &
making hte best of everything i know + what I"m being taught.
evile: I don't ever intend to start a fight in my lifetime, but if
somebody wants to try and knock me around, I will break them.
evile: One way to look at the stuff with the assistant-jerks
and 'tattling' to Randy, is that there may be other newbies or people
who don't have the personal connection to anyone in charge, so they
haven't said anything or just left without saying anything...so it's
not like you're stirring shit, just pointing out a problem that other
people may not have felt comfortable mentioning.
evile: And hopefully he is good enough at dealing with politics (he
has been elected to a position, yes?) that he'll know how to solve
the problem without causing interpersonal nonsense between the ASSes
    and you.
SkyeDS: he strikes me as having infinite tact so I hope
    evile: me too
SkyeDS: I didn't intend to be tattling to the Earl Marshal
SkyeDS: I was answering my friend's question
SkyeDS: I'm just afraid of what it will look like
    evile: *shrug*
evile: all you have control over is your own words/actions. What
other people choose to hear and react to is up to them...
SkyeDS: it probably should have occurred to me that my friend IS earl
marshal and watch what I said accordingly
evile: oh well. Good thing to keep in mind for the future, nothing
you can do about what is already said & done.
evile: Man....what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall when [dad]
& sineater were talking on Sunday :P
    SkyeDS: me too
SkyeDS: but you know how sineater is about his privacy
    evile: *nods*
evile: I got a letter from Mom, she says that she and [dad] do not
want to be the grandparents raising the grandkids...
evile: Hopefully the fact that The Rubber Pig knows [dad] doesn't like her will
keep the question from even coming up.
evile: My (very mean spirited & hateful ) thought is that once The Rubber Pig
realizes Brother A can't be used for much, and his family won't be used,
either, she will lose interest and dump him.
SkyeDS: it is good there isn't a legal entanglement
evile: The key is not to set up a situation where Brother A feels like he
has to choose between family & 'wife', to just continue to be cordial
without giving them anything or doing anything for them.
SkyeDS: Lamar apparently doesn't care about the one grandchild that's
actually his either, because he doesn't want to take them either.
evile: I just pray that her reproductive system continues to be
    uncooperative...
    evile: She's a brat, I don't blame him.
SkyeDS: when I asked sineater last night what was said about the
situation, he said Dad's very pissed, Dad's in no situation to do
anything because he's a step, and [dad] being [dad] and Brother A being
Brother A, no point in [dad] coming down, and that was all he told me
evile: And we don't knwo the whole story on that, so I can't really
go there. It's always possible that Lamar *did* offer to take the ONE
that was his, but that wasn't good enough for The Rubber Pig.
SkyeDS: I thought there was some friendliness between Lamar, G & K,
and that perhaps G & K could get info from Lamar, but sineater said that
    is not the case.
    evile: *shrug*
evile: When Mom & [sister H's dad] divorced, [sister H's dad] "got custody" of the Sawyers,
so Mom hasn't been very close to them since then..
evile: They are cordial, but not bosom friends, if that makes sense.
SkyeDS: Lamar has probably been fed the same bullshit anyway, or some
other bullshit that is still bullshit
    evile: yup.
evile: Apparently, The Rubber Pig, Trey and Brother A hadn't told Lamar anything,
it was Sister H's dad G. who filled Lamar in & got him pissed off
    about stuff.
SkyeDS: hard to keep things from the parents.
evile: esp. when the parents are still helping pay the bills...
evile: Aunt L said the worst thing about watching the kids was that the
oldest 1) says ugly things to and about the middle ALL The time and
    2) pinches/pokes/otherwise upsets the smallest one after Aunt L would
    put her down for bed.
evile: Sounds like if someone could get Lamar to take the oldest, Uncle B
& Aunt L would not have had such a tough time with the other 2.
SkyeDS: no one has ever given me children to watch for extended
    periods of time
evile: I only took all of X's at once ONE time, when she was in the
hospital. It was a friggin' nightmare.
evile: 1 kid is fine, 3 kids is ....too much.
evile: esp. when the oldest is a manipulative little bitch :P
evile: I took both [goddaughter] & [her brother] once, and [goddaughter] was constantly
niggling at [her brother], so finally he lost it and pitched a fit, and so
he was the one who got in trouble. It sucked!!
SkyeDS: no wonder I'm hungry, it's 2 pm
    evile: yeah...it is :P
evile: The Krav Maga studio is, like, 2 doors down from a Chinese
place. I've been craving Chinese insanely since starting classes :P
    SkyeDS: I believe it
SkyeDS: Chinese is comfort food to me
    evile: me too, i guess.
evile: Oh well, hopefully I can hold out till poly dinner on
Thursday. It's Vietnamese, but maybe that'll be close enough :P
evile: I'm very mystified. The Bryn Gwlad powers that be won't give
me direx to Saturday's practice in Elgin, and here you are saying
it's not even in Elgin at this point...so why are they still giving
    me hassles about it??
SkyeDS: didn't know you had asked
SkyeDS: and don't know the answer to the other either
evile: Yeah, sineater mentioned the one in Elgin in passing, figured I'd
be better off getting dates/times/directions from one of the
organizers/hosts ...and they told me I had to join this yahoo group
and email this person and call that person and get on this mailing
list, bla bla, and I didn't feel it was worth all that much hassle
just for what I thought would be a 'pop by and say hi'.
evile: I'm not joining SCA. I have no horse. No point in joining
anything where I do not plan to contribute or participate, waste of
    everyone's time.
SkyeDS: you can always come with us any time
SkyeDS: and events are only $3 more for nonmembers
evile: Too much hassle to coordinate rides/meetups/blabla.
SkyeDS: so no point in joining
evile: other than they won't give me directions to the Elgin
(closest) site unless I join. Forget it. I dont' want to see sineater
    that damn bad, I guess.
evile: and he doesn't want to see me that damn bad either.
    So...whatever.
SkyeDS: I think you would enjoy watching him compete
SkyeDS: so one way or another, eventually, I will make it possible
    evile: *shrugs*
SkyeDS: however, tripleA is probably the last horse competition of
    the summer, heat and all
evile: that would be the one in/near Houston?
    SkyeDS: Canton south of Dallas
evile: aha. Too far for Sweetie's 1 car out of 5 that works.
evile: Plus, since we *are* down to one vehicle, I would not
inconvenience him by taking the car for a whole weekend.
SkyeDS: we will put it on the back burner till fall, no big
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: he's good at it, and I'm proud of him
evile: I'm glad he's found something fun to do.
SkyeDS: I suspect the only reason Bridget is nice to me is because
    Lorraine told her to be
SkyeDS: Bridget = in charge of Bryn G. Eq
evile: Well...there's no group you're ever going to find where every
single person is a nice human who likes you....
evile: Austin Poly is the closest I've come, and there are still a
few bad apples in that bunch, too.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: So you just have to go out & meet the rest of the group &
decide if the cool people are worth putting up with the stupid ones.
SkyeDS: exactly why I enjoy going anyway
SkyeDS: I hang w Lorraine and Linda and just stay out of everyone
else's way as much as possible
    evile: yup
evile: and hopefully the jerks will avoid you and you can avoid them
and everyone can get a good experience out of it.
evile: Most of the unpleasant poly folk are not specifically
inimical to me, they're just unpleasant. So it's not like they make
my life hard or anything...I just try not to sit at their end of the
    table.
evile: It would be a different story if there were people in teh
group who specifically wanted to be rid of me, I guess. Luckily I'm
    pretty invisible. :)
SkyeDS: the politics of the eq's aren't always easy to figure
evile: being sexually unavailable seems to solve a lot of problems in
Poly. I don't knwo what the horsey equivalent of that would be...
SkyeDS: this one woman who was at steppes was obviously friendly
with Diane, but was riding in a western saddle <shrug>
evile: maybe she just refused to take the comments about western
    riders=weenies personally...
SkyeDS: I really do wish someone would do something about Ashia
    beating her horse tho
    evile: yuck
evile: well, dang, it's about time for me to mosey.
    SkyeDS: tis that
SkyeDS: wind to your wings, bella HUGS
evile: *hugs* talk at ya later :) have a safe trip home!

    Aunt L to Me:

Your party was great - r&r and just the right time. Brother A and The Rubber Pig
left about 11:00 p.m. (no ice, no olives) after Brother A took a nap with
Yummy and I packed up the kids. I sent the potty chair and play pen
home with them, as well as the "kid" food we got on Saturday -
cereal, canned ravoli, chicken vienna sausages, etc. I was
definitely going low tech on breakfast, snacks and lunch.

The 4th of July at Elaine's will be on Saturday, July 3rd. Elaine
called to confirm the fireworks and that is what they told her. Let
me know what you and Sweetie would like to drink and I'll buy. Usual
menu - hot dogs and chips, potato salad and beans. All you have to
bring is yourselves, we have everything covered.

Am really excited about seeing K [mom] and Sister H. The Rubber Pig said she and
Brother A could pick them up at the airport if they fly into SA and bring
them to Austin. Copy the schedule for me when you get it.

LOVE YOU A BUNCH. You are too good to be real. Aunt L

    ===
    me to Aunt L:

That girl and her MOUTH--Unbelievable!! 11 pm is
    insane.

I'm glad Brother A got a nap, though. Poor thing.

Sweetie's July 4 weekend plans are still up in the air.
There is a VW gang campout, but his vanagon may or may
not be repaired in time for it. I may end up having to
    bum a ride from y'all for Elaine's if I can't get any
straight answers out of The Sweetie.

Mom & Sister H will be flying in to Austin, so we won't
need The Rubber Pig's flakey taxi service, thank god. I don't
think even the lovely patient & wonderful Sister H could
take 2 hours in the car with that mouth.

    *sigh*
    ---
    me to J-Law:
A note from Aunt L about Sunday & whatnot.

How inappropriate and rude of The Rubber Pig to stay at Aunt L &
    Uncle B's babbling until 11 pm! 1) there's still a 1.5-2
hour drive home to think of 2) there are children to
think of and 3) it was a work night, for fuck's sake.
Uncle B had to get up in the a.m. I hope he went to bed at
a decent hour and just left The Rubber Pig babbling away.

Sister H & Mom are flying from Indy to Austin, no San
Antonio, so we won't be needing The Rubber Pig's Nutty Taxi
Service. And besides which, 1.5-2 hours in the car
with that self-centered looney would probably have
even sweet-natured little Sister H ready to crack skulls.

*sigh* Why can't I just have a Normal Family?
    WHY!?!???

    Jun. 21, 2004

Spent Saturday shopping, cooking, cleaning & doing laundry. I now
have $42 to last me to the end of the month. Oh well. What else is
new? I haven't been this poor at the end of the month for a long
time, actually. But it's no biggie. Bills are paid, we have food, all
    is well.

Sunday was the picnic at the park. Brother A & The Rubber Pig came up. The Rubber Pig
regaled some of my friends with the lurid details of her childrens'
conceptions & whatnot. (took her '7 tries' to get the littlest one,
she made some comment about the baby's father getting tired of
fucking her so much..EW!!) But she wasn't too awful. Like UB, she
tends to do better in large groups, doesn't talk so much & doesn't
monopolize the whole group, just 1 person at a time who can then be
rescued by the rest of us.

The kids were fine. My friend Tangentsferret brought her son Sean & he
and 'Blis' are about the same age, so they played together well.

Aunt L was frazzled. When everyone was at the pool and it was just me,
her and Uncle B sitting at the picnic table, she said something about the
oldest being a 'little bitch' and poking the baby & suchlike to keep
waking her up, so the last time Aunt L put the baby to bed it was 'one
in the fuckin' morning!'--Aunt L talking like this!! OMG!! She said she
was too old for this, and that it had been a lot different when each
of us came up by ourselves for daycamp when we were growing up.

Good news is that The Rubber Pig missed her babies so much, she and Brother A took
    them home last night. *Whew.*
