Spent Saturday shopping, cooking, cleaning & doing laundry. I now
have $42 to last me to the end of the month. Oh well. What else is
new? I haven't been this poor at the end of the month for a long
time, actually. But it's no biggie. Bills are paid, we have food, all
is well.
Sunday was the picnic at the park. Brother A & The Rubber Pig came up. The Rubber Pig
regaled some of my friends with the lurid details of her childrens'
conceptions & whatnot. (took her '7 tries' to get the littlest one,
she made some comment about the baby's father getting tired of
fucking her so much..EW!!) But she wasn't too awful. Like UB, she
tends to do better in large groups, doesn't talk so much & doesn't
monopolize the whole group, just 1 person at a time who can then be
rescued by the rest of us.
The kids were fine. My friend Tangentsferret brought her son Sean & he
and 'Blis' are about the same age, so they played together well.
Aunt L was frazzled. When everyone was at the pool and it was just me,
her and Uncle B sitting at the picnic table, she said something about the
oldest being a 'little bitch' and poking the baby & suchlike to keep
waking her up, so the last time Aunt L put the baby to bed it was 'one
in the fuckin' morning!'--Aunt L talking like this!! OMG!! She said she
was too old for this, and that it had been a lot different when each
of us came up by ourselves for daycamp when we were growing up.
Good news is that The Rubber Pig missed her babies so much, she and Brother A took
them home last night. *Whew.*

Except for seeing Shane on Sunday, it sucked.
Friday night, after the concert, I got this hideous
heartburn, followed maybe 10-15 minutes later by an
outbreak of fierce itching, which subsequently
became full-blown hives. They were at their worst
on Saturday afternoon. They were everywhere, and, I
do mean fucking everywhere. I have been popping
antihistamines, and that made things better until
this morning.
They aren't nearly as bad as they were, but it still
sucks, and I am worried, chiefly because I don't
know what the fuck is causing them. I am going to
see if I can get in to the Dr. today (still have to
figure out which one and which health plan - I
changed during open enrollment).
Both mom and bro had to do some work this weekend.
Bro works anyway, but mom usually doesn't. So I
was basically alone, reading, itching and missing
Shane all weekend.
It sucked.
The Rubber Pig sounds absolutely vile, actually. It's
appalling that she would foist those kids on Aunt L,
especially since Aunt L is exactly the person who
would take the burden without complaint (to The Rubber Pig,
at any rate).

me:
*hugs* Poor you. I hope there is quick resolution to
the hives...that's so bizarre! and yucky. I'm sure
Shane was sweet & sympathetic.
I am just hoping that Aunt L's learned her lesson about
setting personal boundaries. Yes it does suck that
Brother A & The Rubber Pig did that to her, but Aunt L could have said
No. I don't think The Rubber Pig's mom is as unhinged as The Rubber Pig
made it sound, sure she's a bitch but...wtf...if The Rubber Pig
is going to foist them off on ANYONE, it should be the
nasty ol' bitch who made HER the rotten whore she
is...karma's a bitch, ya know?

Shane was wonderful. He actually has a serious
peanut allergy, so he definitely knows how much it
sucks.
At least my face wasn't swollen - it was on
Saturday. I looked like the fucking elephant man.
I woke up from a nap, went to the loo, looked at
myself in the mirror and burst into tears.
I hope Aunt L has learned her lesson, too. And you
definitely have a point - she could have said no.
But I just think it is so much more dishonorable to
take advantage of the one person you know won't say
no.
========
me:
Wow. I've heard they put peanuts in everything...so having a peanut
allergy must suck BIGTIME!!
That was the worst part of having the mumps--fever & achey-icky
feeling was bad, but the whole facial disfigurement was the WORST.
I'm so vain...seriously, if anything ever happened to my face, I
would just jump off a cliff.
Now that Brother A & The Rubber Pig don't have anybody in Austin they're using for
anything, we probably won't hear from them for weeks/months. Until
The Rubber Pig announces her next blessed event, I bet. I'm glad it's
considered terribly gauche for a family member to throw a baby
shower. :P
ps: Oh, forgot to tell you: apparently the children have
decided to call me "Aunt Eek" out of the various
options Brother A presented them with.
Antique. Love it. :P

My fake-SIL kept going on about how her kids were 'confused' and
thought my Aunt L was Brother A's mom, but then would tell them "Go
tell Grandma L Bla bla"...so she was the one who was confusing
them!!
