can't make any claims for your gay friends. But I can say this, if
someone attacked you for your poly, pagan friends Skye & Co, that

isn't really white

evile: What I love about J-Law is that she knows her shit but she's not
a wine snob in a typical sense of the word.
evile: She's just as happy to sit in a fine restaurant drinking a
$200 bottle of 50 year old Cab, as she is to sit in the living room
watching TV and drinking a bottle of Boone's Farm with me.

evile: She knows the difference, and her palate is very discerning,
but she recognizes times & place for everything & enjoys everything
for what it is.
evile: That is, to me, what Class is: having good taste, and being
confident and happy enough with your own taste not to look down on
other people or make them uncomfortable with their own tastes.
SkyeDS: hehe I will be happy with my 50% of that (the last half)

evile: the really nice thing about the TRF wine tastings is that they
start from beginner-status and explain everything thoroughly as they
go. I mean, it's hokey & campy & they spank you if they spill and
its a little show,too, but if you want to get a beginner-level wine
experience, it's available.
evile: Depending on which winery you taste at, the experiences vary.
Sometimes you have to know hwat you're doing because they don't,
someitmes they know what they're doing and are condescending if you
don't...it's all different.

learning to control behavior is very important.

SkyeDS: to me one layer of meaning in Aradia's Words Concerning Love
indicates that people need to learn to separate feelings from actions

evile: so, 3 yrs ago, I have a friend who won't spend time with me or
acknowlege my feelings as valid. 2 yrs ago I was angsting about
thanksgiving & X, 1 year ago I was having angst about Sweetie being a
selfish slob.
evile: I still have no local friends that will acknowledge me if I'm
unhappy, Sweetie's still a slob, and Thanksgiving this year is lookig
like a bigger trainwreck than we've ever had....but not focusing
there is helping those things from being a real problem her ena dnow
for me.
SkyeDS: some things, after they happen a few dozen times, eventually
sink through the skull as patterns
SkyeDS: once accepted, then they're easier to water off a duck's back

worrying and fussing about them isn't going to help anything.

evile: At past craft shows I've taken a selection of beads & put them
in small ziplock-type baggies and put them in a bowl or basket, which
seemed to go over pretty well.

evile: and then I just got round bright-colored stickers for price
tags. People like price tags.
evile: And I don't think most people like digging through un-
organized stuff, so the baggies helped with that.

and informed them that two of us would arrive Thursday and one of us
Friday, and would a copy of the receipt suffice to get us in, in case
our tickets didn't arrive via snail mail in time

evile: The bellydance show on Friday was way cool, BTW. There was a
group from Houston whose style is apparently called "american
tribal"...they had very cool jewelry & hair.
SkyeDS: cool. order massive amounts of shit form Egypt, it gets here
in two weeks
SkyeDS: order a corset and a tarot deck, they arrive in three days
SkyeDS: order two necklaces, from the US, paid for them immediately
after winning them, more than two weeks ago, they aren't here.

SkyeDS: but these people have an ebay store and are power sellers,
and it's not going to reflect well on them that they've admitted I
paid really fast and given me positive feedback, and then me turn

like I saw one of the dancers wearing on Friday, but no luck.

evile: Sweetie got a bike this weekend. (bicycle) he and Peglegasus went
running around all day yesterday & Sweetie's all like "I'm gonna ride it
to work!!" hehe.

evile: he works in one of the AMD buildings down by Parks & Wildlife
headquarters.
evile: I think Peglegasus inspired him--Peglegasus has been riding his bike and
working out for about a month & lost 10 lbs.

evile: Yeah. I don't really care if Sweetie's a little pudgy, but with
his dad having been diabetic & dying of a heart attack in his early
50s, I am glad to see him excited about exercise.

know what people need from you when they're greiving.

this year, either...but I do think I'll be at the poly tubing thing

closed fo the summer, it seems to be primarily student-oriented, was
closed over spring break.

because their drinks are so strong (Everclear enhanced!)
evile: I don't get why mediocre Tex Mex seems to flourish unchecked
while unique stuff like Time Machine & Medieval Times died in this
town.

evile: Excalibur hotel/casino apparently has a Medieval Times type
dinner but that place is so overrun with hyper children, I wouldn't
risk it.

Dec. 24? Main St. Station has the best seafood buffet on Friday
nights.

evile: J-Law will probably not be the vegas buffet freak that I am, but
I'm sure she'll let me pick our dinner place at least once during the
weekend. So that'll be mine :) Then we can do snooty upscale Real
Restaurants for the rest of the trip.

that are much cheaper/better at what they do tha the post office
evile: sure, but there are, what, 3 Fed Ex offices and 2 UPS offices
in town, vs. how many post offices? With most gov't things youv'e got
the whole quantity vs quality thing going on.
evile: My agency may not be the most effective, BUT it's the only one
that has the infrastructure/reach to do what we do, even as halfass
as we do it.

about public school failings

fuckwittage, whereas theoretically 100% of TX population goes thru
public school at some point.

places I'd just visited

them) I could probably parlay my enjoyment of travel & partying into
a job...but that's not gonna happen. "do what you love and the money
will follow" does not apply to travel & parties.

will be more inclined to take chances.
