    Current mood: busy

    Quick Update
K is babysitting for me today so that hubby can have a day off and I
can work. Tonight you will be seeing a pretty durn frazzled Mommy at
Poly 1st Wednes. dinner. Any volunteeers to keep the baby happy will
be greatly appreciated. Any scorning looks for having a baby crying
in public will only get a cold shoulder if the person is lucky.

Job has been keeping me wrapped in knots. Need to start forcing
myself to take a lunch. Anyone who decides to visit, be prepared to
have to drag me out of the office for a lunch though, I say I really
need them but making myself take them is difficult.
    ==============

because being out in public is all about what SHE wants, not whehther
or not hte baby is comfortable & happy, and certainly not whether or
not fellow diners enjoy their experience. for fucks sake..this woman
is the most amazingly selfish and screwed up freak I've ever had the
misfortune of looking at in LJ.

Let her try and give me more than the cold shoulder--I know Krav Maga
and I ain't afraid to use it.

Kaleon, that little rat, stood me up last night. On the plus side, I
did get a free half glass of wine out of the deal -- the gal was on
her last bottle of the cab I ordered, so she poured it and went "oh,
I don't have enough for a full glass, can I get you something else?"
so I ordered a different wine and she gave me the half glass free.
And I like the cafe, the art & the atmosphere, so it wasn't a total
waste of time. Perhaps coincidentally, UB left yesterday at 3 to
go 'teach a lesson' at 4. I was assuming riding lesson
back at 'the ranch' but maybe she found out about our little bon
voyage meetup and went and harangued him for it. who knows? who
cares? I went home, went to dinner w/Sweetie, Jaime & Big James, and then
I left Kaleon voicemail after dinner, wished him a safe trip & good
luck with the next part of his life, and I'm done. I made an effort,
and I think that's pretty much it for me.

evile: did you get rained on yesterday?
SkyeDS: nope, quite a lovely evening for a lesson
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: Was it Marshall and the screechy lady?
    SkyeDS: ya
SkyeDS: and thankfully she went somewhere else during most of the
lesson. Marshall is much easier to handle alone.
    evile: I imagine.
SkyeDS: had I my way, first I would want him truly tested (eeg and
    spectrograph) for ADD/HD
SkyeDS: but I bet you he hasn't clinically got that
SkyeDS: it's completely due to having a fucked up home
    evile: *nod*
evile: rubber_pig says her middle child has ADD. I also have doubts.
SkyeDS: there is a good book out by a doctor who says that there are
only two truly scientific tests for it, EEGs and spectrographs.
apparently a lot of doctors test for it in random ways
SkyeDS: people seem to like to throw the word around, like they
    do "migraine" for bad headaches
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: I'm not denigrating bad headaches by any stretch of
imagination, but bad headaches are NOT migraines.
    evile: syndrome du jour.
evile: remember when everyone had Epstein-Barr a few years ago?
    SkyeDS: stupid ?, what's that?
SkyeDS: and omg but all these psychotropic drugs being given out like
candy all over the place, to kids and adults alike, prozac, zoloft,
    ridalin, etc
evile: yeah, the drug thing is very disturbing. Epstein Barr was also
called 'chronic fatigue syndrome' (aka "lazy bastard syndrome")
SkyeDS: how ridiculous. fatigue is a symptom of who knows how many
    things.
evile: well, this was a virus that made people tired.
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: supposedly. It was the syndrom du jour in the late 80's-early
    90's
evile: people just want to find a specific thing broken so they can
take a pill and be all better...when the fact of the matter is that
society, life, the world is broken...and no pill will fix it.
SkyeDS: instant gratification = better than personal responsibility
and accountability. I haven't studied it well enough to know when
the slide began, but the camel is definitely in the tent now.
    evile: yup
evile: kind of like women who say when they find the right man, their
life will be perfect, or whatever.
SkyeDS: lol I'm glad I didn't see Arthur. I heard it was bad.
evile: I saw it at the discount cinema.
evile: There are a lot of movies I'll just miss altogether now, since
I used to see previews and say "i'll wait till itcomes to the dollar
    movies"
SkyeDS: I thought I saw somewhere they said they were looking for
    another lease elsewhere
evile: I heard that, but havent' seen anything yet.
evile: LJ is being slow & crappy today, and not emailing me comments.
    SkyeDS: I noticed.
evile: I just loved that picture and thought it was so cool that the
tarot deck in the picture is the same as the one for you LJ icon ;)
    SkyeDS: Marchetti = yummy
SkyeDS: you would just love his queen of pentacles, all emerald
green, amethyst purple and with peacock
evile: I saw on the website. Very pretty.
evile: If I were wealthy tomorrow, I'd order one of the limited
    edition decks.
SkyeDS: I need to look into what it's going to cost to breed Mirage.
I need to do it in the next three years.
    evile: *nod*
evile: ya know..if tonight wasn't going to be Niki's last poly dinner
before her school starts, I wouldn't go.
    SkyeDS: whynot
evile: chrisloy is bringing her brat and planning on being nasty to
anyone who is bothered by it screaming.
evile: I never get parents who are so selfish that htey have to keep
doing whatever they're doing while their child is obviously upset and
in need of care and comfort. And *I'm* the 'selfish' one for not
    having any.
SkyeDS: oh ya, I saw that
    evile: what.ever.
SkyeDS: I hope Niki didn't think that the blowup had anything to do
    with her.
SkyeDS: I don't believe in coincidence, but I dont' know what else to
call it, it just happened all at teh same time, completely unrelated
    evile: *shrug* No idea.
evile: chrisloy keeps expressing amazement that we've never met or
spoken at any length...and there is definitely a REASON for that, at
    least on my end.
SkyeDS: you were both at the dinner Sineater and I went to last.
evile: I'm prepared to be polite if I have to, but bedamned if I'll
join the cult of mommy & baby worship or put up with her screaming
    kid.
evile: anyway, like I said, first wednesday is big enough to avoid
the people one wishes to avoid, without appearing to avoid them.
There's barely enough time to say hello to the people you *do* like.
    SkyeDS: I can see that.
evile: If she starts dragging screaming sproggy to the smaller
dinners during the rest of the month, I will quit going.
SkyeDS: I think had I been at your end of the table where you, onyxlynxx
and mouser were (tried and trues), my last experience would have been
    much more pleasant.
    evile: *nod*
evile: it's good to either get there early enough to surround
yourself with good folks, or sit somewhere that is easy to escape
from, so you can go mingle if someone starts to bug ya.
SkyeDS: is mouser feeling any better lately or do you know? he was
radiating "bummed out" last I saw him.
evile: nobody has seen or heard from him in a long time. I figure
he'll be out tonight since Apple is in town. If he hasn't snuck off
to FL without a word to anyone (which is a possibility)
SkyeDS: just didn't like to see him down, and not be able to cheer
    him up
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Lisa at this place said that Rag was pretty enough to breed
to that she didn't care about lack of papers
SkyeDS: too bad this gelding of hers is gelded, t hey'd have made
    pretty babies
    SkyeDS: http://www.rlarabians.com/webpics/prince2.jpg
evile: that's not too far away, either.
    SkyeDS: nope
evile: though, from what I've seen in some places, I'd almost rather
have a mare inseminated than beat up by a randy stallion.
    SkyeDS: ya
SkyeDS: she had said she thought Sonadal would be a good match. But
    I'm thinking maybe Ahslan
SkyeDS: his dam was a grey dahman
    evile: ooh, pretty.
SkyeDS: Rag is gray Hamdani (very similar to the Dahmanis)
    evile: *nod*
evile: *sigh* I miss the brat page.
evile: there are just some things you can't say out loud
    anywhere...and really really want to...
SkyeDS: can't say it on a filter?
evile: something liek "look, flies breed...so you and your offspring
aren't that unique. and at least maggots are quiet."
evile: did a childfree rant on my LJ once and that's how I lost lisalotte
as a freind...so not really even there. Just too mean, needs to be
    anonymous.
evile: I just hate the whole "look! I opened my legs! worship me and
the offspring!" attitude displayed by so many new mothers...
SkyeDS: the whole lisalotte & thax things becomes more interesting
    frequently
    evile: oh really?
SkyeDS: seems thax has his friends and she has hers, and they both
    defend them passionately
SkyeDS: as if it were a grudge match
    SkyeDS: like....ford and chevy
    evile: really? I didn't realize
evile: I thought about going out to hte park Sunday, but it was just
    too rainy and muddy out.
SkyeDS: we didn't go either same reason
evile: I like Thax, but I would never expect or demand that he be my
friend to the detriment of his relationship with his spouse...
SkyeDS: their detriments seem to be quite public, other people
    notwithstanding
SkyeDS: I know, I'm one to talk
evile: oh well. I like and respect Lisalotte, too. it's sad that she
doesn't feel the same about me, but oh well.
SkyeDS: black and white paint percheron/thoroughbred cross, pretty:
    http://www.fashionranchhorses.com/ForSale.html
SkyeDS: no doubt a great sporthorse
    evile: very pretty.
evile: Lone star equine rescue makes you promise never to breed an
    animal you adopt from them.
SkyeDS: I understand they're quite stringent in a lot of ways. I
imagine they might have their reasons.
    evile: *nod*
evile: probably mostly the lack of papers
    SkyeDS: http://www.scrmorgans.com/Shadow/Shadow6.jpg
    evile: pretty!
SkyeDS: wonder how much he costs, that would be nice to breed to Jess
    SkyeDS: tjat
    evile: yeah.
    SkyeDS: thta
    SkyeDS: dammit
SkyeDS: that area code is Texarkana area too
    evile: hee.
evile: ooh, my hot springs/winetasting/alien weekend just got better!
    horses!
    http://www.chinatihotsprings.org/cgi-bin/iowa/article.html?record=24
    SkyeDS: :D
evile: now I just have to find someone to go with me.
SkyeDS: seems cheaper to breed Jess than Mirage
    SkyeDS: by like around half.
    evile: wow.
evile: are you wanting to have them in foal at the same time?
    SkyeDS: um...no.
SkyeDS: I think that would be a very bad idea
evile: me too...but I didn't want to say anything to discourage you
    if that was your plan.
SkyeDS: I know Mirage needs to breed first time before she's 17 and
then she can breed up till 32, as long as she stays clean
    SkyeDS: I'm researching morgans now
SkyeDS: I'm betting I can wait longer w Jess tho
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: morgans seem to do okay as maidens all the way to 19 or 20
SkyeDS: of course, she's older than Rag too
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: she's 16 now, that gives us four years with her, three with
    Mirage
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Sineater's surgery is set for Thu 13th
evile: Thats coming up very soon!
    SkyeDS: next thu
evile: Please let me know if we can do anything...I never know how to
deal with people in hospital stuff...do they want visitors? do they
want to be left alone with their undignified hospital dress? or what.
SkyeDS: I am taking him to Central Market at 9 am, he will be there
he thinks for two hours, and then I will bring him to the ofc where
in his drughappy stupor he can watch me work, woohoo
    evile: *nod*
evile: It's amazing what is now 'day surgery' . If y'all would
rather, I'm sure I could get the day off & take hm back to our house
    to rest and recover.
SkyeDS: I can ask, or you can ask :)
evile: I'm assuming that since Sineater hasn't told me about the surgery,
he didn't want me to even know about it.
SkyeDS: he didn't know till this am
evile: *shrug* I used to get distressed about the lack of
communication from him, but i just don't take it personally anymore.
If he wants to talk to me, he knows about 5 ways to reach me. I'm not
going to chase him around begging for communication and entre into
    his life.
SkyeDS: they were waiting for thyroid results before deciding if/when
    SkyeDS: you're not missing anything.
SkyeDS: besides, I am a font of useless knowledge about such things
evile: well, i'm here if he needs me, but I'm not going to put my
nose in where it's been smacked before.
SkyeDS: I'll ask him, tis no big :)
SkyeDS: I already asked him to get a copy of the thyroid results.
Because lower normal ranges still can have subclinical symptoms, like
his memory loss and hearing loss, that aggravate us all
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: we are both going to feel bad if we find there was clinical
    reason for the memory loss
evile: oh well. better to know now.
SkyeDS: that loss has led to many fights and much anger on both sides
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: that he realizes now that he DOES have memory loss and
hearing problems alleviates some of the fighting
    evile: i bet.
SkyeDS: because a great deal of the fighting was over who remembered
    what.
evile: and of course nobody could be bothered to keep a calendar or
    post it notes...
SkyeDS: the things we've fought over wouldn't have been kept there
    anyway...
evile: Sweetie and I get into similar sometimes...writing things down
    definitely helps.
evile: but, yeah, some stuff wasn't write=-down type stuff
evile: Next time you're insured, you might want to have thyroid
testing too. Apparently it's a bigger problem than people realize.
SkyeDS: planned to go get tested week after next while Hugh's out of
    town
evile: peopel our age start thinking they're having first stages of
    menopause but it's actually thyroid.
evile: My friend e. has a bad thyroid--she is spacey and flakey as
hell. Much more irritating than Sineater ever has been. (to me anyway)
evile: I try to be patient, and only give her one thought at a time
to deal with, but she still drives me crazy sometimes.
SkyeDS: I'm about positive I have thyroid problems
SkyeDS: which is why my periods are getting worse despite the low
    level estrogen
SkyeDS: and the estrogen helps some of the problems, but not the pain
SkyeDS: shortens the period, but they're getting longer again,
lessens the blood flood, lessons the lining (you could have made
quilts), and eliminates ovulation pain (no ovulation)
SkyeDS: but the cramps are getting severe again, despite.
    evile: *nod*
evile: apparently the surgery I had is for all of that, but it's
    pretty much a 'final solution'
SkyeDS: thyroid would also explain why I lost so much water weight on
atkins but my face was still puffy no matter how much I lost.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and that all my weight is now going to parts of my body it
    didn't before
evile: Tina says she'd worry about my thyroid if my hair wasn't so
    healthy..
SkyeDS: I don't know whether or not I could call my hair symptomatic
    or not
SkyeDS: it isn't as healthy as it was years ago, for a fact
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: it becomes more like hay every year
evile: Niki says her Dr. is really awesome, so I"m going to go talk
    to him.
SkyeDS: and this basal temperature test i can't do on my period,
    great, because that's next week.
    SkyeDS: what's his name?
SkyeDS: I want to see if he's on my plan
evile: I don't know, she's supposed to send me the info. I am not due
for another annual until summer, so I'm not in that big a hurry.
evile: Dr Davis is great if you want to get the essure or tubal +
ablation, though. He's an excellent surgeon. Just lousy bedside
    manner.
    SkyeDS: he did the abortion
    evile: You told me that.
SkyeDS: used one of my favorite piano artists as
    meditation/distraction music
evile: He was just such a jerk to me the last time I went in...and
has been pretty consistently disrespectful of me, so I think I'm
finally ready to try a devil I don't know.
SkyeDS: I suspect I wasn't paying much attention
evile: and since I have what I wanted, there won't be any starting
    over at square 1.
SkyeDS: whenever I have to see a new doctor I emphatically tell them
I have endo and migraines and I'm not interested in rediagnosis of
    either
evile: I had to pester the man for 3 years to get my sterilization &
ablation (started out asking for a hysterectomy because essure and
ablation didn't exist 3 years ago...so mayb e the Universe knew what
    it was do8ing)
evile: yeah...it's kind of like, why keep such giant records, if
nobody's going to read them and we have to start from square 1 every
    damn time?
SkyeDS: doctors get in deep shit over transfer of medical records
    SkyeDS: deep shit
evile: St davids told me mine weren't there anymore, had been purged.
Miraculously, they were found when Davis asked for them. Infuriating.
SkyeDS: that would be over refusal to fork them over, specifically
    evile: i bet.
SkyeDS: refusal to fork over med recs costs licenses.
    evile: good to know!
evile: e. sent me a list of all these ridiculous newage
fluffbunny UT inromal classes & asked if I wanted to take one. I just
picked the least-awful sounding one & we are signing up for it.
icks. *sigh* the things I do for my friends.
    SkyeDS: I do miss yoga
SkyeDS: I got used to Peter's way of doing things
    evile: yup
evile: the right/wrong instructor can certainly make a difference.
SkyeDS: wish I'd had the sense to take that microrecorder I rescued
from the law library and record a session
    SkyeDS: <stupid witch
    evile: Oh well.
    evile: I like Rodney Yee's videos. He's got a calming voice & a nice
    way of doing things.
evile: e. really likes the lady who teaches Hatha Star on
Saturdays but the woman annoys the poo out of me.
evile: I go because e. and Victoria are there. And for the yogi
tea. I could get better yoga at home on my own.
evile: I like the girl who does the yoga on the quickfix yoga/pilates
    DVD I got.
    SkyeDS: that sounds good
evile: I have a couple of Jennifer Kries videos & DVDs now. she's an
evil dominatrix...which I'm not always in the mood for...but very
    effective.
SkyeDS: makes note of that name
evile: she's also pretty easy on the eyes :)
evile: some exercise videos feature people that are so unattractive
to me, it kind of makes me think "gee, if that exercise did that to
you, I don't want any part of it!"
evile: (totally irrational, i realize, but there it is)
    SkyeDS: why is that irrational.
evile: doing some boobless beef jerky stringbean's exercises will not
make me into them any more htan wearing Paris Hilton's perfume will
    make m e a rich slutty blonde.
SkyeDS: why should either one of us want to be blonde anyway
evile: *shrug* I'm just saying. My body isn't going to change THAT
much, no matter what I do, short of surgery. The size will change,
    but shape and proportions won't.
evile: anyhoo..time to head out. Have a good evening. They tell me
the cold front came in--be careful driving home.

YAY! Hopefully, it will be something good. Narcotics. None of this

I hope everything goes well for Sineater!!!!

I am sure Sineater won't call or ask for any help...but
    I
could take the day off and take him to the hospital
and then back to the house to let him rest, instead
    of
UBs plan to drop him at the grocery store across the
street from the hospital on her way in, and then
    pick
him up after surgery and let him 'recover' in her
office. Oh well, he hasn't said anything or asked me
and I've learned the hard way that he doesn't want
    me
    in his business.

Oh! this is annoying--on Monday, Elena sent me a
    list
of all these ridiculous newage fluffbunny UT inromal
classes & asked if I wanted to take one. I just
    picked
the least-awful sounding one & we are signing up for

    --- J:

I don't like UB's plan at all. First of all, why
not drop him off right at the hospital? Surely, it
is much easier for her to swing into the driveway
near the entrance than it is for him to walk across
the street, through the grounds, through the parking
    lot, etc.?!

Of course the worse part is having him "recover" in
her office when he ought to be, and would be more
comfortable, in bed at home. You know if she had
some kind of surgery, she would insist on every
    comfort and convenience imaginable.

You're right not to stick your oar in... but maybe
if the family collectively said something? Not
accusatory re: UB, but something more casual like,
"let us know if you need anything," "UB, if it
might be easier if we took Sineater and picked him
up..." Or ?? Because this is not cool. Surgery,
even something as "routine" as carpal tunnel, is
    serious shizz.

Love the Elena thing. Just for the record, I would
never ask you to do something like that with me...
unless, of course, we were going to get loaded, sit
in the back, and snicker the whole time. :)

    =================================
    me:

Well, the class is on campus, so I was thinking it might be easier to
just catch a happy hour after work and then go to campus, rather than
trying to get home, wait for Sweetie to come home, get a car, find a
parking space, bla bla. So I could totally get loaded before the
class. That is _my_ style of 'spirit guides' :P

I mentioned to UB via icq that I didn't want to be in Sineater's business
if he didn't want me there, but that I'd be more than willing to take
a day off work and run him back and forth from surgery & let him
    recover in the guest bedroom.

Oh, she also says he has thyroid problems which makes him 'forget'
things and 'not hear' things. Yeah, right. Maybe the things she made
up, but nothing in this world. gah, she peeves me so much! I told her
she needed to get her thyroid checked, too, while they're at it. flew
right over her head. heh. I'm getting better at this!

    J-Law sez:

Rick might finally have a new job! It sounds like it is essentially
in the bag - guy's just going to check references and Rick has to
have a physical exam, and that's it.

I agree. Happy hour is definitely the way to go. :)

Sineater doesn't have thyroid problems. He is a man, married to a
shrew. "Forgetting" and "not hearing" are adaptive mechanisms that
all such men must develop, or perish!

Well, I can think of at least two times when UB said something had
happened, and either I was there and it didn't happen that way or
some other set of reliable witnesses were there and said it didn't
happen...so the problem is her and her decidedly 'slanted'
    (read 'bugfuck') worldview.

An attractive woman walks past Sineater, she's hitting on him and he's a
dishonest cheater for looking at her (whether he even noticed her or
not). A friend sits on another friend's lap in a flirtatious manner
at a party, and it's remembered by UB as the someone sitting on
Sineater's lap. I tell her she looks nice and I'm insulting her for not
wearing a bra. Someone disagrees with her and they're
'attacking' her and Sineater is a jerk for not being there to defend her
from their viciousness, even when she's the one who started the shit
and wouldn't let it drop when people tried to change the subject. bla
    bla.

I'm glad Rick is moving on--I hope everything goes smoothly & the new
job is wonderful for him :)

Poly dinner was good last night-there was a big crowd. Some people
going back and forth between the poly and no kidding tables,
visiting. Amusing to watch the obnoxious breeder 'babystalking' the
NK! table by walking the child repeatedly back and forth past their
side of the restaurant. ('babystalking'= violating strangers'
personal space in public in hopes they will notice and compliment
    your offspring)

It was an early night but I still had a hard time getting up this
a.m. Allergies are kicking my butt. Oh well. Almost Friday!

Oh! I got Vegas pictures back--the ones from the camera I bought in
the star trek gift shop came out VERY dark. I was disappointed about
that. I'm going to see if they can reprint a couple with more
    contrast or whatever.

    Love you! Happy Thursday!

Yeah, UB is definitely the one with the selective memory issues.
Sounds like a lot, if not all, of it stems from being so cripplingly
    insecure about herself.

Shane and I didn't win the lottery. :( No one did, so it's up to
    like 57 million for Saturday.

Love the "babystalking." What an idiot - parading her fuckfruit in
front of the NK people, as if they will all change their minds when
they see her. There is nothing more pathetic than someone really
smug like that, when no one else gives a rat's ass.

Shane and I had a great evening. Dinner, wine, packed up the
ornaments and took down the tree. After which, we watched, uh,
well. A porn movie. And things got really hot in the sack, and we
had the most amazing sex of our relationship thus far.

Wooo! Unfortunately, it will be our last hurrah for a week or so, as
my period will more than likely start tomorrow. :(

That's a bummer about your photos. :( Hopefully, they will be able
to do some good reprints for you. I really need to shoot up the rest
of my film, so I can get mine developed.

Love you, too!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a good day!

I didnt win the lotto either. Oh well. 57 mil would be nice. that
could fund a month in Vegas or so... :P

I have sympathy for UB's issues, but I still can't excuse her poor
treatment of others as a result. It's a wierd mind-space to occupy...

We had a conversation about porno last night at dinner. Niki just
bought a new DVD, bringing her collection to 3. So I teased her about
being a pervert. It was funny. It's hard to find good movies, but the
good ones do lead to great times in the bedroom :)

My boss erroneously gave me phone duty and then realized that the
person out sick didn't have it. So we worked out a compromise and I'm
leaving at 3:30. That's kinda cool. I guess I should be sure and get
a lot of work done in return, eh?

I hope your picture with Shane at the Xmas tree in the Hilton lobby
comes out better than mine. Y'all look so cute, but it's just too
    dang dark. :(
