evile: whee, phone duty. My brain hurts!
    SkyeDS: aw <hugs>
evile: No freaks or angry people, just a lot of folks who aren't
    english speaking.
SkyeDS: that is marginally better than anger, I would think
evile: Yeah. It's just hard to figure out what they want or what
they're asking, and how to get htat info across in limited vocabulary
evile: If I were in charge, I would insist that everyone living and
working here should speak the same language.
evile: The Kinky Happy Hour at Spider House is looking to be a nice
    gathering :)
evile: Sharjinka/Jinx told me she'd be at some o the SCA stuff this
weekend, mostly to hang with Julie.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: Randy and his mentor knight Duke Patrick Michael are going,
there's going to be a knighting
evile: That should be fun. Too bad we're gonna be at TRF. Oh well.
SkyeDS: problem being, I can't let Sharjinka/Jinx ride until she's
    authorized
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and it doesn't look like anyone will ahve time to do that
    this weekend
SkyeDS: but if she wants, I can ask Laura or Linda
    SkyeDS: she might not care.
evile: I am sure she will be cool with abiding by the rules for SCA.
SkyeDS: she doesn't even ride every time we're at HFS so <shrug>
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: hopefully this weekend will be good fun all around :) would
be nice to see Sharjinka/Jinx :)
evile: She was cute at skate night last night :)
evile: next tues is actually the Halloween party skate night--free
    beer, too.
SkyeDS: lot of things I miss since I dont' live in town and have to
go home and sleep now :(
    evile: yup.
    SkyeDS: yoga, skating, karaoke
evile: But it's a trade off, you needed room for the horses & stuff,
and overall I think y'all ar happier out there. You just need an in-
town boyfriend to crash with on some work-nights, that's all ;P
SkyeDS: I had one, but oh well
    SkyeDS: wasn't worth the trouble
evile: *nod* thre's lots more where he came from, i'm sure.
evile: do you read dot_poly_snark? it's sometimes amusing. the
flamewars in teh comments are even funnier, usually.
    SkyeDS: no but I will
SkyeDS: read lots of amusing harry potter fanfic yesterday
SkyeDS: getting to be a paralegal and do research and give opinions
    today!
evile: *shakes head* re: HP, very cool re: paralegal work
evile: It's nice to have a bunch of different 'hats' to wear at work.
Keeps any 1 thing from getting too stale, I think.
SkyeDS: did a little bit of research, think when I ask for a raise,
I'll ask for a buck and a half
SkyeDS: that will put me at the very bottom of the average
    SkyeDS: adjusted for taxes et
evile: *nod* that seems very reasonable to me.
    SkyeDS: for secretaries
SkyeDS: since I very rarely act as a paralegal, truthfully
evile: Our time sheets have a project code to show what yo spend your
time on, which would be cool if one got paid more for doing
harder/different work. (for me, working federal extended benefit
    appeals, for example)
SkyeDS: thank god I don't have to do that. I would if Hugh billed my
    time
SkyeDS: I keep a little diary in a calendar book which he has yet to
    ask to look at
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: we are so sloppy here
SkyeDS: but Hugh doesn't insist on dress code, because he doesn't
want to dress unless he has to
SkyeDS: he doesn't care about how sloppy I am as long as I get the
job done, because he's sloppier than me
SkyeDS: there's a lot to be said for that kind of compatibility
    evile: heh. true.
evile: they're giving us an hour of administrative leave to go vote.
I'm using it Friday, so I can leave early :)
SkyeDS: I want to vote early, I need to make up my mind by friday
    whom I'm voting for
evile: brandi eileen (The Diva)'s LJ has a pdf version of the ballot
    you can look at.
    evile: http://www.livejournal.com/users/brandyeileen/
evile: oh, you're not travis county, so yours will be different.
    nevermind. duh.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: Time for me to get gone. I love phone duty for that reason :)

SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
    evile: *hugs* see ya manyana.
    SkyeDS: hasta la bye bye

    Oct. 27, 2004

on Friday the 22nd, I got home & was sitting around the house, the
phone rang & I didn't answer it. Sweetie was out doing something or
another, and then he called the house. I didn't answer that one
either. But then it seemed odd that 2 calls would come so close
together, so I went & listened to them

A lady had found my wallet at the bus stop. We arranged tomeet her
and her guy at fuddruckers and they'd give me the wallet back.

Nothing was missing. I thanked her several times. I did not, however,
shake her hand, or her guy's hand, or introduce Sweetie to them. I did
not offer to buy them dinner. I did not get her address in order to
send a thank you card. I was rather ungracious, grabby, and
    unfriendly.

I would like this story to be more exciting and reflect me in a
better light, but it does not.
