    Aug. 20, 2004

    evile: tgif!!
    SkyeDS: :D
    evile: How's your day going?
    SkyeDS: it goes
SkyeDS: tried to tell them this am not to mow the pasture with the
horses actually in it, but I lost (as usual)
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: after the storm we got last night, and the storms today, I
don't think they'll get too far anyway.
evile: *nod* very dramatic lightshow yesterday evening :)
    SkyeDS: was nice
evile: yup. We didn't get to go swimming at barton springs pool,
though :( they close when there's lightning.
SkyeDS: swimming in lightning = bad LOL
evile: yup. I'm planning on finding out when exactly their free swims
are. I want to go, sometime.
    SkyeDS: I have a thought
SkyeDS: build a Great Wall around Florida
SkyeDS: give it to the Palestinians
SkyeDS: then they have their own land
SkyeDS: and we have no more voting or hurricane problems
evile: *laff* but they don't want THAT land, they want THEIR land.
evile: nincompoops. Fighting over a bunch of dirt & rocks.
evile: Although, with W in charge of the US and wanting Armageddon
ASAP, and his brother in charge of FL, it could happen.
    SkyeDS: it will happen anyway
SkyeDS: too many people believe in it not to create it
evile: Armageddon, FL into the sea, or the palistinians taking over
FL, and THEN FL into the sea?
SkyeDS: hope Cali goes too truthfully
SkyeDS: if I can't protect my children and provide for them
    afterwards, just kill us first
evile: I like CA. it's pretty. Not all moldy & icky like FL.
SkyeDS: it woudl be a shame to lose the Hearst Castle
evile: Well, maybe the end of the world will be more of a Narnian
thing, with all the good things still existing as bigger & better in
    the world beyond.
    SkyeDS: omfg
SkyeDS: look this up on Google and read the Facts
    SkyeDS: Miller v. HCA, 118 S.W.3d 758 (Tex. 2003)
evile: geez. No wonder most GYNs are giving up the OB side of their
    practice.
SkyeDS: bout enough to make one consider delivering at home.
evile: My friend Ivy did that with her 2.
SkyeDS: Mitchell v. Baylor University Medical Center, 109 S.W.3d 838
    (Tex. App.-Dallas 2003). ~ another omfg
evile: is this work research, or you just browsing?
    SkyeDS: work
    evile: *nod* icks.
    evile: ew. sponge...ew..
SkyeDS: there are med mal cases against surgeons for amputating the
    wrong limb.
    evile: that would SUCK!
SkyeDS: what I don't get is, coffee is worth 51 mil
SkyeDS: fertility clinic puts wrong embryo in woman, that's worth 1
    mil
    SkyeDS: wtf
evile: I hear they often try change of venue because certain
geographic areas give better $ settlements.
    evile: Or something like that.
SkyeDS: convoluted warning: sineater said, that [dad] said, that [k/mom] had
talked to [brother A] recently. But I can't remember what they said [brother A]
    said.
    evile: um..ok.
SkyeDS: so I guess we can at least infer he's still on speaking terms
    with [k/mom].
SkyeDS: and [dad] said something that kindof amuses/bemuses me to no
    end.
SkyeDS: he hopes that eventually things will work out with [rubber pig] the
    way they did with me.
    evile: hm.
SkyeDS: well, first of all, [rubber pig] isn't anything like me by a long
    fucking shot
SkyeDS: I have no, and have never had, any intention of attempting to
accomplish what she's being very successful at.
SkyeDS: I can understand that he would like for everyone to
eventually all get along (I mean, who wouldn't)
SkyeDS: but I don't think that's likely, because he's waiting for
    apples to turn into oranges.
evile: [dad] is not big into tact.
SkyeDS: lol well I hope he doesn't hold his breath waiting.
    evile: *shrug* [dad] is [dad].
SkyeDS: I don't mean to sound like I'm afraid I sound
SkyeDS: I'm glad he thinks that things improved with me
SkyeDS: but to compare [rubber pig] to me? please.
evile: She's more of an [X], really...
SkyeDS: I think what he wants is that eventually [rubber pig] will change
and then the situation will change
SkyeDS: because, there's no other way the situation will, like mine
did, eventually even itself out, kinda sorta
    evile: No tellin'.
SkyeDS: the way she is, I don't see how it would be possible to
achieve an even keel, no matter how long you waited.
evile: I've taken my ego out of the situation. It's in God's hands,
s/he will do what is right....if that means [brother A] goes home to Her,
    that's what will happen.
SkyeDS: besides, I suspect she'll tire of him, she doesn't seem to
    keep them for long.
    evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: /me files it away under "I'd like to win the lottery someday
    and..."
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: the most important business of the day: cookies after lunch :)
evile: one of my coworkers brought cookies today. I've mostly stayed
    away.
evile: Hm. austin parks does not list Barton Springs pool as having
any free swims, but another site says it's free every day after 9pm.
    Hm.
SkyeDS: the official Austin site doesn't list a lot of official and
    important information
SkyeDS: not much swimtime after 9 pm either since most city parks
    close between 10 and 10:30
evile: An hour is plenty....I would think.
evile: the chronicle says free swim is 8-10, not 9-10. More info that
    don't match up...feh.
SkyeDS: guess I would call the pool itself and ask
SkyeDS: but since my parents are likely not going to leave Sunday,
I'm not going to go examine that trail and swimmin hole
evile: I dont' make non business phone calls at work. Too many nosey
    little eavesdroppers.
    evile: oh well.
SkyeDS: I will get them to take me to breakfast somewhere nice and
swim in their hotel pool instead :P
    evile: there ya go.
evile: Jenni just sent me this. $60 each to get in and $60 for the
    vanagon is a little...overwhelming.
    evile: http://www.kerrville-music.com/wine_info.htm
evile: but it looks like a good time, other than that.
SkyeDS: I wonder if that's at QVR, where it has been before.
SkyeDS: I like QVR, but I don't like it that much.
    evile: Looks like it is.
SkyeDS: the foreman was very nice and picked a campsite just for us,
that was the best campsite in t he whole place
SkyeDS: he has horses himself and knew exactly what and where we
    needed.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: anyway, Kerrville and QVR are very pretty, nice camping (but
    not $180 worth)
evile: Maybe we could just go out Sunday...red wine and chocolate
would be the best of the offerings, anyway :)
    SkyeDS: yum
SkyeDS: that time of the month is next weekand right now steak, red
    wine and chocolate sound good
SkyeDS: and potatoes with the skins on
evile: I don't need a time, that sounds good all the time.
SkyeDS: yes, but right now, the cravings are very intense.
    evile: $22 admission for 1 day & $25 to camp w/the vanagon. That's
not quite so bad, I guess...
SkyeDS: I am in the habit of giving body whatever it craves once a
    month,b ecause I figure, for a reason.
    evile: *nod*
evile: I may not make the Blue Hole hike on Sun, either. Depending on
how I feel after all the parties & how much sleep I get (or don't get)
SkyeDS: looks like more storms comin too
evile: yeah. I hope the picnic doesn't get rained out :(
evile: If your 'rents make you too crazy this weekend, you can always
use me as an 'out', bTW.
evile: save my cell # into your cell, just in case :P
SkyeDS: thankee muchly. I think t hings will be fine, they were fine
    last week
SkyeDS: they're going to be stircrazy if the caliche doesn't come
    today
SkyeDS: no caliche, t hey can't erect building
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: they couldn't get into the pit because of rain yesterday.
SkyeDS: I told Daddy to tell them they'd better get into the pit
today, before it rains again tonight
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: I still find it amusing that my father, who ought to know
    better, thinks I'm a moron.
SkyeDS: I doubt he thinks that he thinks t hat way
evile: It's not about you, it's about him. Blow it off.
SkyeDS: but he certainly treats me like that's what he thinks
evile: My bio dad likes to give lectures on various subjects. I used
to think it was because he thought I was stupid. Now I think it's
just because he likes to talk and I'm a pretty good audience
SkyeDS: that sounds right on the money
SkyeDS: he's just pontificating on subjects that he knows well.
evile: E's Universal Solution: Nod and Smile.
SkyeDS: I will be the first to admit he, mom and gramma know all
sorts of things about caretaking of acreage that I don't.
SkyeDS: it's just that he pontificates on little things that I
already know, when I need to him to pontificate on what I don't
    already know lol :P
evile: yeah. but if you get impatient with him, he may never work up
to the stuff you need to hear. Just let him go & hope it gets to the
    good stuff eventually :)
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: plus, he has a hard time now. He can't do math at all. He
struggles for words, and can't remember half what he wants to.
SkyeDS: that's got to be very frustrating to a highly intelligent
    person.
evile: So it may be a matter of how he has it 'mapped' in his
neurons, he has to proceed through the topic in a certain way.
SkyeDS: actually [Sineater's mom] is in the same situation, kind of.
SkyeDS: what was always annoying in her is now aggravated beyond her
control by the pain and the drugs.
    evile: sad.
evile: OMG, too funny. comics based on titles of email spam!
    http://spamusement.com/
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: giggling at my desk...maybe not good. but it is actually break
time right now, so maybe ok.
    SkyeDS: rofl
evile: simple pleasures for simple minds :P
SkyeDS: I like simple, simple is good.
evile: *nod* Cock of the gods is hilarious :P
evile: The drawing style is very Don Hershfeld. Timmy's Balloon is
still the funniest damn cartoon EVAR.
SkyeDS: tom tomorrow is usually funny
SkyeDS: I liked hepcats, bloom county and (trying to think whatelse)
evile: some day I'll have to take you to the Spike & Mike Sick and
Twisted Animation Festival when it comes to town. Will ruin your
    brain forever!
    SkyeDS: lol ok
evile: Some of it is genuinely amusing. A lot of it is just ...nasty.
    But it's interesting & fun.
SkyeDS: I saw the cutest two panel cartoon
SkyeDS: first panel, Arab riding camel swinging scimitar full tilt
    hollaring holy war!
SkyeDS: second panel he's in retreat followed by a US jet hollaring
    holy shit!
    evile: heh.
evile: I hear they're using high-altitude cold-weather jets to do low-
flying recon in Iraq. With all the billion$ getting thrown at Boeing
and Lockheed, you'd think we'd come up with somthing better than a
plane called "Sherpa" to work in the damn desert.
    SkyeDS: horses :P
evile: can't be manufactured by Boeing or Lockheed-Martin. Certainly
    not fast & in quantity.
SkyeDS: palominos: ideally suited, for desert camoflage :P
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I know, I am so not funny
evile: last I checked, no flying palominos....but that would be
    pretty damned terrifying :)
evile: Horse bombs aren't lethal...but you might wish you were dead
if a palomino flew in low and got ya...
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: I really do wonder what's going to happen in Iraq if W gets
    voted out.
evile: we have made such a giant mess...my guess is we'll pull out,
leave the place in ruins, and then Iraq will beg the UN to come help
    them.
SkyeDS: I don't know that that is desirable
evile: I can't see any 'desirable' outcome for that situation, unfo.
    It is terminally fucked up.
    SkyeDS: nods :(
evile: Iraq was a fairly progressive nation, for a Muslim country.
Women worked, went to school, and didn't have to go veiled. ... *sigh*
SkyeDS: I thought women weren't allowed to be professionals in Iraq
SkyeDS: they had women doctors there not allowed to practice
evile: when saddam was in power, Iraq was a pretty normal democracy
    type thing.
evile: I'm sure history is being rewritten as we speak to reflect
otherwise, but..whatever. 1984 is alive and well in 2004.
    SkyeDS: nods :(
evile: Oh well. that's another one for god & not me to worry about.
    SkyeDS: wish could take nap
evile: yeah, that would be nice. I took one yesterday after work &
before dinner. Made a huge difference.
evile: I've been so hermity lately. It feels great to be up to social
    interactions again...can't wait for tomorrow!!
    SkyeDS: me too!
evile: your shire party is tomorrow, too. That's going to be such a
    blast.
    SkyeDS: :D
evile: Are you going to take your parents? That would be a trip...
SkyeDS: I'll ask them if they want to come
SkyeDS: I surmise the answer will be no
evile: *nod* Always good to offer, anyway.
SkyeDS: they might surprise me, they occasionally do, but not often
evile: heh. that's probably for the best.
evile: Today has taken forever to be over with, but it finally IS!
Time to ditch paper & run!
evile: Have an excellent weekend, call me if you need to escape!
SkyeDS: wind to your wings bella :)
    evile: *hugs*
    evile: tgif!!
