something about trying to get $100 out of my savings for the weekend.
The CU was crowded and there were unfamiliar people running the CU.
The teller at the CU was Jimna or someone similar, whiney and
useless. She told me to go to an ATM, then she kept handing me wrong
amounts. In my dream, I left the CU at 5:27, and had to go back to my
desk and sign out to Janice & explain why I went to the CU on my 2:30
break and didn't get back to my desk until 5:30. I think/guess that I
did something with Y6 and CHAPS to take leave time to make up for the
CU disaster. Something about driving Muddy home after that, it was
parked in Skye_ds's office parking lot.

Obviously subconscious is distressed at the thought of tapping into
my savings for anything. I will try very hard not to.

    evile: TGIF!
    SkyeDS: amen sister
evile: Did you get caught up on rest last night?
SkyeDS: made the endeavor. then Arthur nailed my finger really good
    this morning (sigh)
    evile: ouch.
evile: We have raccoons in our backyard.
SkyeDS: most people would consider that a problem
evile: That was my fun this a.m. Eris was freaking out at the window
and huffing around. They are NOT as afraid of people as they should
    be.
SkyeDS: no more than the squirrels on campus, nope
evile: Apparently wildlife is a real problem this summer. All the
rain has been good for fertility & now they're overrunning into
    civilization.
evile: I read where coyotes are a real problem for a lot of people. I
guess if the choice is between Coyote and 'coon, I'll take the little
    robbers any day.
SkyeDS: don't know nothin bout gettin rid of racoons either, Miz
    Scarlett
SkyeDS: we have coyotes and bobcats
evile: There is a larger one and a smaller one. The larger one isn't
as big as others I've seen in the neighborhood. I'm thinking "teen
mommy raccoon and her only surviving baby"
evile: Apparently they'd rather eat seeds out of the bird-feeder than
go down to the creek and hunt minnows & turtles. Not good.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: They are also more scrawny than most racoons I've seen in
    our 'hood.
SkyeDS: some chance of rabidity too
evile: I feel bad for them, but the fact that I can get within 8 feet
of mommy and 3 feet of baby is NOT a good survival skill for them.
SkyeDS: lack of fear is one sign
    evile: *nods*
evile: Luckily our critters are inside cats
SkyeDS: lol Gabe will be at CRW if his baby has been born, but not
    otherwise
SkyeDS: so he's going to go off and leave his woman with a newborn
SkyeDS: sineater would be engendering no more children ever if he went
off and left me by myself with a newborn
evile: she'll be in the hospital, plenty of help/attention. But,
yeah, probably fuel for a future spousal squabble.
SkyeDS: unless she has complications she won't be there for more than
    48 hours.
evile: I'm sure they have plenty of family/friend s who will want to
get all oogy over the pwesious mirakul.
    SkyeDS: still
evile: *shrug* not my bowl of froot loops.
evile: I could give a shit.
SkyeDS: and TnA and Metal are fiances, not wives
evile: who are TnA and Metal?
SkyeDS: TnA = tits n ass, excuse me Tiffany
SkyeDS: who is Patrick's dog excuse me fiancee
    SkyeDS: and Metal is Gabe's
    evile: Metal=el preggo?
SkyeDS: TnA to fit the PtA sobriquet
SkyeDS: I thought I was being cute
evile: If he isn't married to her, why should he hang out for the
    bursting of the crotchfruit?
SkyeDS: I still want to go riding past them and look pointedly at her
and say I thought dogs were supposed to be on leashes and muzzles
    SkyeDS: but I told Jinx I wouldn't
SkyeDS: and I also said I wouldn't point and laugh (just look and
    laugh)
    evile: *nods*
evile: Personally, I'm old fashioned and I dont' think babies should
be born out of wedlock. most men have all the parental instinct of a
crayfish. So if they are not legally bound to give a shit about the
fruit of your womb, they WONT
evile: And even then, it's a crapshoot.
SkyeDS: I don't think they should either
SkyeDS: I'm a big fan of adoption
SkyeDS: there aren't enough babies out there to adopt
evile: But it's a free country, if people want to give birth to
children with many disadvantages, they can go right on ahead and I'll
be forced to pay for their incarceration later.
SkyeDS: you'll pay for more than that
SkyeDS: you'll pay for their upkeep up until the time they're
    incarcerated
    evile: *nods* yup.
SkyeDS: you'll pay for their formula, their diapers, their carseat,
    their apt in the projects
SkyeDS: and for mom's beer, cigs, etc
evile: Just read a rather sickening article in the chron. re: births
in prison. Many babydaddies in uniform.
SkyeDS: 8 mo old boy mauled by Gramma's pitbull in Naconowhere.
    lovely.
evile: In the good news, the birth rate among teenagers is the lowest
    it's been in many years.
evile: so that was a nice article in teh Statesman to balance out the
    criminals-having-criminals in the Chron.
    SkyeDS: yes
SkyeDS: but that's because children are having more abortions now
SkyeDS: and obg nurses are delivering children as young as 10 and 11
    evile: nothing wrong with abortion.
SkyeDS: no, but children at that age should not be pg in the first
place, regardless of whether they're aborting or not
SkyeDS: I just think the lower birth rate stat is misleading by itself
SkyeDS: it doesn't mean the problem of children getting pregnant is
    going away
evile: true enough. But...aside from sterlizing them at birth, there
isn't any way to keep them from doing what they do.
SkyeDS: well, it doesn't help that some cultures throw parties for
    them
    SkyeDS: baby showers, rejoice, etc
    evile: I'm glad I'm not a parent.If I had a pregnant child, there
    would be thermonuclear destruction.
    SkyeDS: amen.
SkyeDS: I would put my girl on pills, my boy on condoms, but I would
still explain to them that condoms don't prevent everything
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: for example, the papilloma virus that triggers some forms of
    cancer
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I just can't see an entire family going to the hospital to
rejoice in a teenager giving birth, and then throwing a shower
SkyeDS: but there are cultures that are like that.
evile: I can't see anyone rejoicing over the birth of yet another
    human..but my perspective is skewed.
SkyeDS: teenage girls admit the reason they have babies is to get
attention and people give them cool stuff
SkyeDS: that is SO fucked up
evile: entitlement adults have entitlement kids. It is just going to
    get worse.
SkyeDS: fifteen yo's delivering their 3d child, 3 different daddies
SkyeDS: automatically ordering DNA tests before they go home because
they have no clue who's it is
    evile: ick.
SkyeDS: my particular perspective coming from contact with obg nurses
    & doctors and their anecdotes
SkyeDS: I know it's anecdotal, but to me that's more truthful than
    statistics
evile: *nods* too depressing for words.
SkyeDS: and you can't cut out the entitlements
SkyeDS: because then what about the poor chirren
    evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: I say, cut out the entitlements, and on to what Bush calls
    faith based solutions
    SkyeDS: send them to churches
SkyeDS: let the people who want to pay for them, pay for them
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: the church can tie morality strings to its support
SkyeDS: it's no different than animal training
SkyeDS: we do our best not to give them the chance to make a wrong
    decision
SkyeDS: so we put them in situations where they can't make a wrong
    decision, just right ones
evile: I think everyone should have some moral compass. I don't
necessarily have to agree with it, but goddamn, some people don't
have a shred of empathy or common sense, so might as well beat some
    archaic biblical rules into 'em.
SkyeDS: I hate to say this but china has the right idea in this one
    instance
SkyeDS: we'll pay for one "mistake"
SkyeDS: you make more mistakes, you pay for them
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and whereas the govt can't say, quit making mistakes or no
more money (although it ought to)
    SkyeDS: a church could
SkyeDS: a church could tie strings to it
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: if you want money for your mistake, you play by these rules
    from now on
SkyeDS: so it is your choice
SkyeDS: and I'm sorry but women like Linda used to take more than
half a dozen crack babies away from should be sterilized
    SkyeDS: they just should be
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: it is a violation of another living being's rights to be born
    addicted
evile: there's a procedure that hasn't been tested & approved for the
US, but basically it's a nonsurgical procedure that uses electricity
to seal a man's vas deferens. I'd like to see every convicted
criminal with a little electrode up the wee-wee during his initial
physical, and oops, no more criminal offspring!
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: they talk now and again about castrating rapists
    evile: nope, just kill them.
SkyeDS: problem being that they will still rape, even without the
    usual equipment
evile: women rape, and they ahve not testes.
SkyeDS: you know, coke bottles, whatever's to hand
evile: it's not about sex, it's about violence.
SkyeDS: I've always thought rapists shoudl be killed
SkyeDS: as long as there's DNA evidence (no wrongful conviction)
    evile: *nods*
    evile: heh. new bumpersticker:
    Your Honor Student
    Fucked Up My McDonald's Order!
    SkyeDS: rofl
    evile: So true... :P
    SkyeDS: no wonder I'm hungry
    SkyeDS: lol
    SkyeDS: time to nuke lunch
SkyeDS: I know they're bad, but potatoes with peppers are nummy
evile: lots of nutrition in potato skins.
evile: peppers are vitamin A and vitamin C.
    not that bad.
SkyeDS: they'v cultivated a lower carb potato in Flordia
    SkyeDS: one third less carbs
SkyeDS: like it's that hard to eat just a third less of a potato
    evile: So I hear.
evile: Most american dieters will hear/read that and go "I can eat 3X
more and get the same carbs!!"
    evile: fatass idiots.
evile: Sort of like the nimrods who gorge on an entire box of
Snackwells because they're 'healthy'. Yeahright, just keep telling
yourself that right up until your poor fat heart explodes.
SkyeDS: goes back to, you can have all this you want as long as you
    avoid all that]
SkyeDS: nevermind moderation of any kind
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: when I was low carbing I ate potatoes with no problems
    SkyeDS: in very limited amounts
    evile: *nods*
    SkyeDS: scary:]
    SkyeDS: http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040624-112909-3346r.htm\
SkyeDS: I'm going to have to move if the GOP manages court stripping
    evile: Lovely.
SkyeDS: I was happy the other day when SCOTUS smacked down Ashcroft
SkyeDS: even tho they didn't smack him as much as needed to be
SkyeDS: some smacking was better than none
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and now Congress wants to take away smackdown powers from
    SCOTUS
SkyeDS: no I don't think so.
evile: pretty crazy. I seem to remember something from Government
class a million years ago about balancing power or something silly
    like that...
SkyeDS: it makes me fucking insane to see the Constitution treated
    like toilet paper
SkyeDS: I couldn't get more incensed over it if I'd helped write it
    myself
    evile: Yeah...
SkyeDS: there is a lot of laughter here, many days. I like that.
SkyeDS: and we talk about interesting things, sex, politics,
    religion, guns, etc
    evile: *nods* must be nice.
evile: I see people in the halls sometimes who look like they might
have something in common with me, but nobody in my unit, really.
evile: I do have one CF coworker, but she's really ugly and militant
about it, not to mention possibly bipolar or some other major
personality disorder. Not worth the risk of catching her in a bad
mood to try and talk with her.
SkyeDS: I think I'm just beyond weird
evile: Plus she was one of the Littlest Nazi's toadies.
SkyeDS: all of my friends are weird, a nd even they think I'm weird
evile: heh. Mouser said he told one of his coworkers to give it up, by
his standards, the coworker was vanilla. :P
evile: I'd give a lot to watch someone trying to freak Mouser's shit..
SkyeDS: in my mind, I'm too bland to even try
SkyeDS: although I am very freaky to most vanilla/mundanes
evile: *shrug* I am me. If someone is freaked, their problem. I'm not
doing or saying anything merely for effect these days.
evile: Mostly I try to keep things topical. I'm not going to barge
into HFS and start spouting BDSM lingo, or go to Poly Dinner and
start spouting the No Kidding! party line.
SkyeDS: can be hard to do. there is a lot of overlap.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: met Laura's daughter, son in law and grandson
evile: Well, if I know somene from another group, I may mention
something of interest to them. But depends on the situation.
    SkyeDS: awesome people
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: run in most if not all the same circles we do
    evile: Who's Laura again?
SkyeDS: the Kingom equestrian officer (aka lorraine0
    evile: aha, Ok.
evile: One thing about everything but the poly group: everybody's got
    too many damn names.
SkyeDS: I noticed that Randy posted to the kingdom eq list that he
intends to attend Bryn Gwlad practices
    SkyeDS: that will be interesting
SkyeDS: wonder if he gets a lecture about not wearing a helmet
    evile: hm.
SkyeDS: I bet that's why he's attending too
SkyeDS: I've asked him if he wanted to go to BG with me and he's
    always said no
SkyeDS: because he intends to go to Houston to practice with Alexis
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: I noticed at the last event that Mz Bridget did NOT take her
    almighty lippizaner mare
SkyeDS: I wonder if it's because even in practice on her home field
    the horse is completely uncontrollable
    evile: wise decision, then.
SkyeDS: hushed awe "I have a Lippizaner"
SkyeDS: uh huh, where is it
SkyeDS: at home, because I can't ride it
evile: *shrug* If I were out somewhere with a bunch of people, I'd
rather they left their brats (of any species) at home.
SkyeDS: I wouldn't brag about a brat that was so bad it had to be
    left at home
evile: Neither would I. But...oh well. Lots of people caught up in
having status symbols (including babies) and can't be bothered to
    take care of them.
evile: Lots of challenges to raising a Lippizzaner right, from what I
understand. They're smarter and mature later than other horses. You
can make a lot of mistakes iwth them if you try and treat them like
    just another dumb quarterhorse.
SkyeDS: I have the greatest of respect for Bridget and Gwenhavre,
    their knowledge, skills and abilities
SkyeDS: I know they far outrank me
SkyeDS: but my horses are better behaved
SkyeDS: so when I see them with these high dollar horses
    SkyeDS: that are absolutely insane
SkyeDS: and they're poking fun at me and mine
    evile: sad for the critters.
SkyeDS: if your high dollar horse is acting like a demon, you have no
ground to be making fun of my western saddle or calling my
mares "scrubs" just because they are grade horses
    evile: that's pretty rude.
SkyeDS: it is possible to be purebred and be grade, that does not
    make scrub.
evile: *shrug* I have no idea what those terms mean, really. 'scrub'
    sounds rude.
    SkyeDS: grade = no papers
    SkyeDS: scrub = nag
    evile: ah.ok.
evile: it's sad that some people never grow out of the schoolyard
notion that in order to make yourself feel good you have to put other
people down. But the world is full of 'em.
evile: FWIW, Miss Gypsy Vanner Drum Mare was ruder than I remember
Jessie or Mirage being when we gave them apples. Her 'mom' had to
correct her several times while we were in the pen.
evile: I don't think I've ever seen you have to correct yours more
    than 1ce or twice.
evile: (of course, I was wearing berry -scented hand lotion, so I
can't really blame her too badly for thinking I still had goodies &
    trying to get my fingers....)
SkyeDS: every once in a while, I will say "no, don't, stop, quit it"
evile: The thing I liked best about Hidalgo is that it showed that
the rider & horse bond & the training can mean more than the
breeding. Breeding will show, but inbreeding will too, ya know.
SkyeDS: even though I know that horses don't understand that
SkyeDS: but I don't just say it, I give them cues to do something else
SkyeDS: and saying it out loud is more me just making noises out of
    habit
    evile: *nods*
    SkyeDS: horses don't understand "don't"
    SkyeDS: they just understand "do"
evile: Any animal can learn 'no'.
SkyeDS: but the way you tell a horse no
SkyeDS: is to tell them to do something else
SkyeDS: they don't understand "don't do this"
SkyeDS: they do understand "do something else"
SkyeDS: why I annoy myself when I say out loud, don't, stop, or quit,
    because I know that's dumb
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I never do it without doing cues
    SkyeDS: but still
SkyeDS: no point in even saying it
    evile: *shrug*
evile: training dogs you always backup your hand signal with a verbal
    command.
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: but proper verbal with horse is a kissing sound, ie, I want
    you to do/move something
evile: or at least that's the way I've seen it done. From my
miserable failures as a dog owner when I was a kid, I wouldn't know
how to have an obedient wellbehaved animal.
SkyeDS: they like to use clickers now from what i see at the store
    evile: hm
SkyeDS: not instead of verbal but in addition to
evile: *nods* I've seen the sheepdog trainers use those, too. (TV)
SkyeDS: can't believe people w/ pitbulls and kids
    SkyeDS: they never learn
evile: *shrug* I feel sorry for the dogs.
evile: Jaime & Kathleen invited us to a big campout on their land the
1st weekend of August. They've been trying to install a pool. What a
    nightmare that's been...
evile: first they tried to level the site by hand and ened up with
the pool overflowing on one side
evile: then they rented a bobcat and really leveled the site.
evile: In the meantime, the pool had been eaten by their dogs...so
now ther'es a nice level site and a pool iwth a big hole in it.
    SkyeDS: eaten?
SkyeDS: was an above the ground?
    evile: yes.
evile: Jaime erected & filled it, found out it wasn't level (water
pouring out of one side), took it down & put it in the garage while
he had the bobcat out there, and while it was in the garage the dogs
chewed a giant hole in it.
evile: The radiator will be in & installed by then, no doubt...
evile: so I guess we'll have to go out and camp with the gang....
evile: there are worse coping methods, but I still don't really like
myself much or feel very good about things when I have to drink to
excess in order to find people tolerable. I'd rather avoid them than
    do that to myself.
    SkyeDS: :(
SkyeDS: out of morbid fascination I will go to BG practices with Randy
SkyeDS: but I'm going to find a hiding place when I get there
    evile: *nods*
evile: this would be their equestrian, or regular fighter practice?
    SkyeDS: eq
    evile: aha. Ok.
evile: this is the supersecret Elgin one?
    SkyeDS: yes
SkyeDS: which I will happily take you to
    evile: oh,boy.
    evile: well, keep me posted.
SkyeDS: I will look them in the face and say this is my student
evile: Can I tell them that's not true? Or do I have to play along?
SkyeDS: lol if you don't want to play along I won't tell them that
evile: I'm just an equivoyeur, not a horsie rider wannabe.
evile: If anyone asks me question1 about riding or anyting else horse-
related, it'll be obvious that I'm dirt ignorant. I'd hate that to
    reflect poorly onyou.
evile: If they're naything like HFS, they won't even notice/ask.
evile: And if they do, we can honestly say that this is something I'm
interested in. and not mention that my interest is 'watching'
    SkyeDS: this is my sister
    SkyeDS: that's the truth.
    evile: yup.
evile: truth is usually the best. not necessarily any great details,
but 1 small fact usually suffices.
evile: My memory isn't good enough to get away with lying like I used
    to :P
SkyeDS: wouldn't take much to keep it from being a lie <shrug>
evile: I'd like to see sineater in action, that's true.
    SkyeDS: he's very good
SkyeDS: and one of these days he might give Ms Bridget a run for her
    money
evile: & know more about the game so I can do more htan nod & smile
when /if he chooses to tell me about it.
SkyeDS: and if her mare pulls her bitch union card, Jesse will eat
    her face
    evile: nice.
evile: Well, let me know the next time you're planning on heading
    that way, we'll Make Plans.
    SkyeDS: nodnods
evile: I got to hear some (old) Garriott dirt last night. very
    entertaining.
    SkyeDS: G is always entertaining
    SkyeDS: do tell :P
evile: Oh, just about when he used to be in SCA and apparently
modeled some of his first ultima characters on SCA personas & got
    into some trouble over it.
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: he and I had a similar conversation
SkyeDS: when I gave him paganism 101 lessons
evile: And about when he used to be bratty at TRF while minding the
    SCA booth.
SkyeDS: he used the paganism 101 lessons to model his Ultima: Pagan
(it was like 8 or 9) game on
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: he wanted to put my pagan name on it and I said, um no
SkyeDS: then he wanted to put my legal name on it and I said oh HELL
    no
    evile: *nods* good plan.
SkyeDS: wasn't offering royalties you understand, just credit
    evile: yup.
evile: I love gossip, esp. when it's old and about people I barely
    know.
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: current gossip about people I know tends to have elements that
are hurtful to someone I care about...that's not so fun as old dirt.
    SkyeDS: nope
evile: Niki just posted for additional carpoolers in her car on the
poly list. I hope she knows & dislikes Diva as much as I do...Other
that that I can't think of anyone I wouldn't want to be in the car
    with.
SkyeDS: very few people I like to carpool with. unless I'm driving.
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: and traveling with the zoo a great deal of time precludes it
    anyway
SkyeDS: have to decide whether I'm driving to txka the minute I get
home, early in the am, or what
evile: I'm bad in mornings, but lately I don't have enough energy to
stay up late either. I guess confer with the other travellers & see
how prepared they'd be to leave tonight vs. tomorrow.
evile: the plus about leaving tomorrow is less time in the 'bosom of
    the family' & such.
evile: less family time usually = less stress, in my experience.
evile: then again, leaving in the a.m. you might be a grouchy-er
bunch & feel rushed to get there.
SkyeDS: plans for tomorrow are get hair cut, spend time with Shannon
and go see my old music teacher
SkyeDS: my UT piano prof was murdered
    SkyeDS: with a meat cleaver
    evile: ack.
SkyeDS: so I want to see the teacher who practically raised me
    SkyeDS: before she dies
    SkyeDS: for whatever reason
SkyeDS: they have the mental health hearing on the man w/ the meat
    cleaver today
    evile: yuck.
evile: it's so easy to take good people & good things for granted...
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: I hope you have a good visit this weekend.
    SkyeDS: thankee kindly
evile: With all the stress and snarky backbiting nonsense lately, you
deserve at least one nice stress-free weekend this month!
SkyeDS: gramma won't be happy to see Sonar0m but she won't see him for
    long so <shrug>
    evile: *nods*
    SkyeDS: tis time for you
SkyeDS: my time comes earlier tonight than usual, so that's ok
evile: Drive safe & have fun.
    SkyeDS: you too bella, ciao
