Hey! I am sorry I never wrote you back. We went out
for dinner with my aunt & uncle for my bday, and I
guess that was about it. These things become less
    thrilling the older you get.

Big news--Brother A was originally going to get married on
July 10, but now his fiancee is having surgery next
Friday, and (big drama!) she may be crippled after the
surgery is over (almost certainly a lie)...But anyway,
they decided to have some sort of ceremony tomorrow,
Memorial Day, at Sunken Gardens at Noon. I will be
there with my Aunt L & Uncle B, maybe Sweetie(?--we
just got back from camping & he is exhausted &
    sunburned)

so...if you feel like going to sunken gardens around
noon tomorrow & meeting Brother A's woman & such, you and
yours are more than welcome. Obviously, it's a very
casual thing, so dress comfy & don't worry about any
kind of present or card or anything. I'm sure that on
such short notice it's not going to be any formal
    ceremony & whatever.

I know what you mean about bdays..sighs. So whats going on with the
Brother A's woman surgery? Sounds serious..crippling and all..? Recently
I developed some kind of skin rash near my chin .. or I just have
hypersensitive skin .. and being in the sun doesnt help any.. makes
it worse.. It looks alot better but I have to watch the sun.. think
    I"m becoming a vampire lol..I stopped using foundation..just
moisturizer with sunscreen and powder. See what age does to ya??

Wow so Brother A is really going through with it..I do wish him the best
    though.

And you? How are you doing? How was camping? OUch sun burn..
I have some errands to tend to tomorrow..and other numb minding
business I need to take care of..but do send them my best wishes..
and take pics! I wanna see!
    -----------
    Me to Rio:

Brother A's woman can't do anything without major drama.
Apparently, the story is she fell in the tub or
something, and went to the ER because her back hurt,
and the Drs found that she has some kind of
degenerative spinal condition, so there will be
surgery on the 4th to fuse her vertebrae and she will
be in the hospital for an entire month, and then home
on bed rest for 2 months after that. Her 3 kids are
staying with her mom for the summer, and I guess Brother A
and/or Trey (her other husband....) will be taking
    care of her.

I think the real story is not nearly as dramatic and
interesting, but I also think I will not get to ever
    hear the real story.

So...the wedding. The Rubber Pig's mom was a total BITCH to all
of Brother A's few family members who could show up on such
short notice. She walked up to my aunt L and said
"You're the aunt?" in this totally flat voice. I don't
think she even said hello or nice to meet you or
ANYTHING when I was introduced. She treated us all
like SHIT. Like it's OUR fault her daughter's a freaky
    skank ho???

Anyway--there no marriage licence, no real minister,
just a friend with one of those 'internet minister
license' things, no religious divorce from Trey,
possibly no REAL divorce from Trey...When she goes in
for surgery on Friday, she's still on his insurance.
Which is good, considering that Brother A STILL has no job
& no insurance. The Rubber Pig borrowed her freind's wedding
dress. (her friend was the only bridesmaid/matron of
    honor/whatever)

The Rubber Pig's 3 children are very sweet little girls. I
really liked them. I think even if things go bad
betwen Brother A & The Rubber Pig, Brother A will tough it out for the
sake of the children. (sad...but what can ya do?)

Sorry to hear about your skin condition. Have you seen
a Dr. yet? Sounds kind of like rosacea. If you are
using any cream with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acid, vitamin
C, fruit acids, stuff like that) that can make your
skin sensitive to light. Also if you take St. John's
Wort, you can become more sensitive to light. I hope
it gets better. I remember when my aunt hit her 30s
she suddenly became allergic to just about
everything--she had to get rid of all her perfumes &
    scented lotions and everything.

Sweetie is still sunburned but it looks like it will fade
to a tan. We are both covered in chigger bites. Talk
    about a GREAT weekend... *sigh*

There's a bellydance show here Friday night (the 4th)
at 8pm, and another one Saturday the 26th at Natural
Magic at 7 pm, if you want to come up? Also, I'm
totally free the weekend of the 19-20. We should get
together sometime :) Maybe cook out, go tubing, or something?

    SkyeDS: hola
    evile: hi!
    evile: how was your weekend?
    SkyeDS: twas most wonderful
SkyeDS: sineater is now competing at Intermediate Level, and a blast was
    had by all in general
evile: my yahoo email has been screwy --did you get my email with
    Brother A's wedding photos?
SkyeDS: Maria was out this morning and left the place spotless
despite the fact that I already told her no deposit back (she had to
    be fucking kidding me)
SkyeDS: got an email, DLing now
    SkyeDS: what happened there anyway
evile: I'm glad there wasn't any more drama with the tenant, then...
evile: Apparently the story is that The Rubber Pig is having surgery on Friday
and wanted to have a wedding ceremony while she was still able to
    stand up & didn't have scars...whatever.
SkyeDS: so you found out in enough to go no?
evile: not by much...but I went.
SkyeDS: so we have a new sister.
evile: call her whatever you want...
SkyeDS: was the ex there? how did it go?
evile: The ex was not only THERe, he ws in charge of the music and
    taking the photos...
evile: She had borrowed a wedding dress from her MOH, so she was
actually dressed the part. The ceremony was printed out on multiple
sheets of paper, took about an hour to read/repeat....we were MELTING
    into puddles.
evile: The Rubber Pig's mom was a rude-ass bitch to all of Brother A's family
members who were present. (like it's our fault this is happening??
    WTF!)
evile: Oh, and apparently the wedding took place in the SAME place
where she married TREY. is that wierd? seems wierd to me...
evile: I have no idea of the etiquette involved in such a situation,
so I tried to just keep quiet and out of the way.
SkyeDS: <blinks several times and wrinkles brow
    evile: *shrug* me, too, babe.
SkyeDS: I don't know anything about etiquette (which goes without
saying) but that is just common sense weird/wrong, getting married in
    the same place.
SkyeDS: I mean, unless it was your church where you've been attending
    for x amount of time
SkyeDS: but it wasn't their church I didn't think.
evile: no, it was outdoors at the sunken gardens
SkyeDS: oh well, it was weird from start to finish
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: sineater hasn't said anything about it yet. We came home to a
msg on the machine of course.
SkyeDS: I can't imagine when I ask him he's going to be very happy.
evile: Well, what the fuck. If our weekend had gone even remotely as
planned, we would not have been available to attend the wedding,
    either.
    SkyeDS: that's right
SkyeDS: you found out in enough time to cancel plans I take it?
SkyeDS: or did they get cancelled prior...
evile: No. Our weekend camping tirp sucked shit and we came home
    early.
    SkyeDS: I'm sorry :(
evile: enh. Nobody knew that Indian Springs would be such a malaria-
    hole.
evile: And nobody knew the vanagon would overheat every 30 minutes
    for 300 miles.
SkyeDS: where is Indian Springs? :(
evile: It was just one of those little foretastes of Hell that happen
every now and again for no apparent reason.
evile: Indian Springs is in Krughe (??) TX up near Beaumont. Shit
    Hole.
evile: Kreutze? I dont know. Some German sounding crap hole.
SkyeDS: ok. Closest I've been then is Vidor for Phyl's funeral.
evile: No indians. no springs. Nothing but mosquitoes and chiggers
SkyeDS: I couldn't have had a cheaper camping experience if I had
been camping on my own and not at an event
SkyeDS: we didn't go Friday of course but we could have
    evile: That's cool.
SkyeDS: so it was $12 for Fri, Sat, Sun, electricity, water, very
    nice bathhouses with hot/cold showers
    evile: nice.
SkyeDS: no telling how many hundreds of people there
    SkyeDS: vendors
SkyeDS: CRW is HFS biggest event of the year and it falls short of
every SCA event I've been to so far
SkyeDS: matter of fact I"m not even sure I want to go to CRW now
SkyeDS: except Ben McCullough sounds like a cool park, so if I have
    the money <shrug>
    evile: yeah.
evile: If I was feeling malicious, I'd tell HFS that Indian Springs
is great & they should have their next CRW there! (the web site
makes it look very nice and the price is super cheap)
    SkyeDS: lol
SkyeDS: I was trying to get sleep friday to get up and drive in the
wee hours of the morning on Saturday
SkyeDS: and Rita called me to talk about CRW, at like past 10 pm and
    talked until 6 am.
    evile: http://www.indianspringscamp.net/
SkyeDS: I should really learn to be more assertive :(
    evile: Nice of her :(
SkyeDS: and then apparently I didn't agree with her about the
politics in language she understood, so she got riled and started
yelling at me, which then got her husband mad and yelling in the
background, and told me of the 25 people she pitched her proposal to,
I was the most difficult to communicate with.
    evile: What a nut.
    SkyeDS: <shrug>
SkyeDS: $15 to camp and for feast is not bad
SkyeDS: ben mccullough sounds and looks real nice
SkyeDS: and it's close to the salt lick
evile: I wasn't even aware that you were involved in planning or
executing anything for CRW, so why did she need to discuss so many
    details with you?
    SkyeDS: I'm not.
SkyeDS: she wanted my personal opinion, that's all
evile: sounds like she needs a new prescription to me.
SkyeDS: and I told her, well, my personal opinion isn't worth much
SkyeDS: most of what you're talking about involves the rules for
    fighting
    SkyeDS: and I haven't fought since 1992.
    SkyeDS: and don't care.
    evile: bizarre woman.
SkyeDS: her proposal sounds good, as far as it goes, and I wished her
well, and told her she of course was opening herself up for attack
    from the fearsome four.
SkyeDS: and that it didn't touch at all the greater problems of
    unification outside of fighting
    SkyeDS: which is money
SkyeDS: and I told sonar0m, look
SkyeDS: you can compete on my horses in equestrian without spending
    money on weapons at all
SkyeDS: because those are all provided
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: and you could fight rapier rather than heavy, and fight with
    live steel, for cheaper
SkyeDS: they have rapier, and heavy
SkyeDS: and heavy involves the full armor and rattan swords and full
    shields
    SkyeDS: expensive.
SkyeDS: our shire has loaner stuff, until he gets to the point where
he *should* invest in his own.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: and I think, that rapier would be closer to what he's already
accustomed to anyway, and better s uited for his size
SkyeDS: but Randy is a big shark in the SCA pond, and I said you
ought to just take his advice.
SkyeDS: I just feel guilty that he's quitting HFS, which he loved, on
    my account.
evile: *shrug* as you said, all his HFS friends have moved elsewhere,
and if he's having more fun and making new friends elsewhere, that's
    just life...
SkyeDS: he says he likes the SCA better, but I still have this niggle
that bothers me that his problems with his parents and leaving the
HFS for the SCA is all my fault.
evile: So dump him and see how quickly his life becomes perfect.
    evile: NOT!
SkyeDS: perfectly logical point, I know.
    SkyeDS: tis after 4 btw.
    SkyeDS: <bad, didn't get here till 3:30
evile: I know. I ran a little late this a.m. but I should go ahead
    and walk my papers around.
SkyeDS: I still haven't decided if my trip will be a Saturday day
trip or a Saturday overnight trip but you're still invited regardless
SkyeDS: after last weekend I can't imagine you're in a hurry to go
back to a lake or whatever again.
evile: I've got a family obligation at the crack on Sunday
SkyeDS: yuck - although forgive me, but better you than me.
evile: And I am covered in chigger bites from the waist down so...not
too eager to get out to Nature again anytime soon....
SkyeDS: nay nor would I be in your shoes
    SkyeDS: <hugs>
evile: Maybe y'all can come out to Poly 1st wednesday or we can go to
the bellydance show Friday evening...I'd like to see you in RL at
    some point.
evile: anyhoo, I'm gettin' gone. email me and let me know what you
think of the wedding photos :)
    evile: *hugs*
SkyeDS: will do, wind to your wings, bella :)
