So...met The Rubber Pig's mother & her boyfriend, and The Rubber Pig's father, and
The Rubber Pig's kids (they were actually VERY sweet, and admired the necklace
I was wearing, which is one that J-Law made for me a long time ago-the
one with the silver moon charm & the big beads interspersed with
bugles & E beads, in shades of blue, green, silver & amber)
ANYWAY, we get there and The Rubber Pig's mom walks over to Aunt L and
says "you're the aunt?" in this sort of monotone. Acted very
unthrilled to meet [brother A]'s family and I'm all like "Hey, lady, don't
give us a bunch of 'tude because your fuckin' daugher's a sKANK! This
outdoor wedding in 90 degree humidity was NOT our idea!" (not out
loud of course)
The Rubber Pig's mom also shared with Aunt L that the Sunken Gardens have really
gone downhill since The Rubber Pig married Trey there -- years ago!!! HOW
FUCKING SICK IS THAT!!?!? They got married at the same place as her
first wedding to her first husband (who was there and did the music
[a cd played on a notebook computer] and took photos, BTW)
Apparently there is no marriage license. There may not even be a
divorce. There is no 'get'--the Jewish religious divorce (Trey acted
like he'd never heard of it when Aunt L asked mock-humorously about
it).
So...wtf was this all about?? They aren't really married, she's still
on Trey's insurance (she is going in for some high drama back surgery
on Friday ) so...WTF.
The ceremony was very sweet, however. [brother A] gave each of the girls a
ring (on a ribbon around their necks) and told them he was ready for
the honor and responsibility of being their father. And then of
course [brother A] and The Rubber Pig exchanged rings and did pretty traditional
sounding vows (even the 'forsaking all others' part!)
So...whatever. [brother A] was glad I went, I guess, and I am glad I was
there. But...still feeling kind of wierd about the whole thing. Like,
what are they hiding, where are all the lies here, etc.
I am also wondering if this was some kind of game to see how many
people they could get on short notice, some kind of test of loyalty
or to see how much she was loved or something--she thanked me for
coming when I congratulated her afterwards & said something like "I
wasn't sure if you would come, I wasn't sure if anyone would
come"...so maybe this was just another bizarro game.
