I'm back at work today. Moving slowly, but here. Allergies are
whoopin' my ass.
Poly dinner last night was quiet & not very well-attended. I really
have no clue when it comes to Indian food. I ordered something
because it seemed like a thing I could pronounce, and it turned out
to be a fried pancake thing with mashed potatoes & peas in it, and
two fried doughnut things that were spicy rather than sweet, and 3
cups of sauces/soups/dessert/I dunnowhatthehellitwas.
The cool things about dinner last night were:
1) Erin and Marca came with their wedding photos from SF--they
heard/read about the mayor making gay marriage legal, so they flew
out and stood in front of city hall for 2 days and got married.
2) we had a visitor from Tempe, AZ who is thinking of moving to
Austin. Even though we locals weren't impressed by the turnout, he
was. He kinda put me on the spot re: am I poly, do I wanna be, bla
bla, and I tried yet again to explain my feelings in general re:
people & relationships, but apparently didn't do very well, got that
pity/horror reaction I despise. Oh well.
