Well, assuming my health insurance is worth a shit, I
will soon be on the road to my endometrial ablation.

The meeting with my Dr. this morning went really well,
he didn't talk down to me or treat me like an idiot.

There will probably be a 2-part thing here: first
tubal sterilization via Essure (It's a 40 minute
procedure that you walk in & out of!) and then the
ablation in 3 months once they've verified that the
    Essure worked.

OR, if my insurance co. won't cover Essure, they will
do the tubal ligation belly-button surgery AND the
ablation at the same time. Which will involve a longer
recovery time, but will essentially do the same thing
    for me.

    YAY!

Went in for my annual today & tried to talk to Dr. Davis about
endometrial ablation. He treated me like I was a very nice retarded
person. I feel so humiliated & stupid. Like, I mentioned the fact
that I've been with the same partner for 8 yrs, and we don't want
kids, and then he was all "Oh, but endometrial ablation isn't a
sterilization method"...and I was all "Yes, I know, but it does have
a negative impact on fertility and I wanted you to know that I'm OK
with that"...and then he started talking about essure, which is a
kind of tubal sterilization, which would be fine, too, but mainly I
want OFF the depo and I want my endometrial lining out of commission,
so it doesn't go putting stuff in the wrong place & trying to kill
me. I don't think I got my idea/fears/concerns across ATALL, mostly
because I don't think he was really listening...it's so goddamned
    frustrating.
