SkyeDS: [offline] wind to your wings :)
    evile: hi :)
    SkyeDS: hey :)
evile: we're still caught up at work. I got bored and went on yahoo
travel for about an hour this a.m.!
    SkyeDS: and found fascinating things?
evile: *sigh* Just a bunch of places I'd like to go.
evile: some deals. Some not-so-deals. I dont' understand how I can
fly to boston, stay in a hotel for 2 days, and have it cost $300, and
yet if I drive to San Antonio, hotel alone is $100. that's
    just...crazy.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: you would probably be a good travel agent
evile: but for 9/11, I might have done so. I was in classes to learn
more about the industry when that happened.
evile: the travel market hasn't really recovered from that.
evile: I am all in favor of doing what you love as a career, but at
the same time, it's GOT to pay the bills, or I won't be happy. Being
secure is an essential part of what makes me happy.
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: working at a book store, or celebration, or things celtic, or
a bead shop, would be wonderful and soul-filling, but if I had to
skip buying groceries, or decide whether or not to pay the phone bill
    that month, I'd be miserable.
SkyeDS: I don't know if I could be happy paying bills making music
    again or not
SkyeDS: don't know if I'd be happy paying bills with just horse
business either, haven't done that, yet
evile: *nod* it makes a difference, whether something is done for fun
    or for work.
evile: I really do like the fact that none of my intellectual or
creative energies are taxed by my paying job...but the bad thing is
    my TIME is.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: *sigh* Oh well. It's nice to be caught up.
evile: And I'm taking Friday off.
SkyeDS: wish could have had yesterday off
SkyeDS: boss didn't show up all day and there were no important calls
    whatsoever
    evile: Mondays are a bitch.
evile: we are still very caught up. They took off our old blinds, so
this a.m. I was getting sun glaring off my monitor, and then they
    installed new blinds, that STINK.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: I guess they had some maintenance budget to burn before the
end of the FY, they've also waxed the floors recently.
SkyeDS: maybe my stomach wrapped around my spine means I should eat
    now.
    evile: yup :)
evile: I had leftover Chuy's for lunch. Ate chips and drank ritas at
the restaurant, when my food got there, I wasn't hungry anymore.
    SkyeDS: like chuy's
    evile: Chuy's is eminently OK
SkyeDS: I like the one in round rock best
evile: *nod* I think my favorite is still the one on Barton Spgs.
evile: *laughs* dickcranium don't know me too well. I lived in
a 'quaint town' for 4 friggen years. No thanks.
    SkyeDS: hehe
evile: I really won't count Karnes City as 'quaint'..but it was small
    & quiet.
evile: It would be fun to get a gang of folks to go to Foxfire, have
mini poly big fun fall edition or some such.
    SkyeDS: what is foxfire
evile: cabins out in the middle of nowhere.
evile: We stayed there on a family vacation a buncha years ago...for
some reason I just thought of them again yesterday or so.
    SkyeDS: where is foxfire?
    evile: *shrug* off thataway.
evile: there's a link in my LJ
evile: I wasn't driving, I really don't remember where it is.
SkyeDS: I'll look when I read LJ later :)
evile: I'm so very bored and restless. Today is my last full day of
work this week. Phone duty tomorrow and then taking Friday off for a
poke & prod with a new Dr.
    SkyeDS: :|
evile: Davis & crew never did call or mail a reminder for my annual,
so that finally gave me impetus to take my business elsewhere.
SkyeDS: I don't remember liking him much
evile: He is an excellent surgeon, but he is also rather arrogant and
    condesending.
evile: So far I like the new one's staff better.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: hopefully that's a good sign.
evile: Oh, my god. I just realized. I've been thnking today is
    Wednesday. D'oh!!!!
    SkyeDS: wishful thinking
    evile: dang. I hate that.
evile: I'm still waffling about Poly dinner wednesday. Shady Grove is
    not a favorite. Lousy parking.
SkyeDS: Hugh and Joyce like Romeos' which I think is next door
evile: I've been there a couple of times. It's OK.
SkyeDS: Hugh really needs a vacation
SkyeDS: he cancelled the one last year for what turned out to be no
    good reason
evile: sounds like. He's had a lot of stressful stuff happen lately.
SkyeDS: every once in a while I'm tempted to take dressage lessons
    from Tracy.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: you might enjoy dressage, it's like dancing.
evile: I've seen it, it looks cool.
SkyeDS: I shouldn't have even gotten started on ballet du cheval.
evile: I'm sorry....I thought you were having fun with it.
SkyeDS: I am. and that's what makes me consider dressage.
SkyeDS: I do not need new expensive addictions.
SkyeDS: it's like discovering a favorite new author. who's written a
    series of three dozen books.
    evile: Yeah...
SkyeDS: I tried on my saris for the first time yesterday
evile: cool :) Did you get 'em wrapped?
    SkyeDS: nods
    evile: awesome :)
SkyeDS: they would be much prettier on a better figure than mine.
SkyeDS: I'm thinking they're going to make gorgeous draped tapestries
in the new pavilion when I'm not wearing them.
    evile: cool idea :)
evile: Sweetie was going through some stuff and found polaroids
from...1998 or so. Dang, I was cute.
SkyeDS: you haven't changed all that much.
SkyeDS: you should see my high school photos and photos from early
    college
SkyeDS: huge change (pun intended :|)
evile: My shape never changes, just my size & general firmness. I'm
definitely inspired to work on it a bit more.
evile: crap. Mercury retrograde--just in time for my first meeting
    w/my new gyno.
SkyeDS: is the new WF not on the same corner with BookPeople anymore?
evile: no, it's across the street, same side of the street, slightly
    further S.
SkyeDS: why do I suspect that wandering around WF is going to become
a new hobby and not just to get groceries as fast as I can and leave
evile: heh. it's a really neat place.
SkyeDS: I was reading their webpage.
SkyeDS: I can basically buy anything in there, without worrying about
whether or not it's "on the list" or not.
    SkyeDS: that could be handy
    SkyeDS: reducing need to think.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I could eat Melting Pot's California salad twice a day every
day and be happy diet or no diet
    evile: *nod* yummy
SkyeDS: it says "mixed baby salad greens"
SkyeDS: I bet if I went to WF and asked them they'd know exactly what
    mixed baby salad greens were.
SkyeDS: I want to say spinach and arugula were in there but I
couldn't swear on it in a court of law
evile: *shrug* every place probably has a different mix.
SkyeDS: bet California is a kind of salad I could google a recipe on
    too.
evile: California is a generic term, I think. A 'california burger'
in PA is one iwth lettuce and tomato on it. Here, you
hear "california" and you think sprouts and such.
SkyeDS: I wonder if I called and asked would they tell me
    evile: possibly
SkyeDS: yummy recipes on their webpage, woo
    evile: cool :)
evile: Well, it's 4. Time for me to move on down the road.
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
    evile: *hugs*
    SkyeDS: :D
