evile: hey :) How's your day going?
SkyeDS: goes, got here early get to leave early, I'm sorry yours
isn't better.
SkyeDS: I intend to start on some of the fat flush plan including
evening primrose
evile: I'm just grouchy. BAd sleep/not enough sleep, never a good
thing.
SkyeDS: does it always induce dreams, and are they always bad? :(
evile: so far, always bad.
evile: seems to go away after a few days/week or so.
evile: I started taking EPO and Flax in November, took it through
December/beginning of January. Then I ran out and just went and got
more yesterday evening. In just that short time, though, my skin got
nicer and Tina noticed my hair had grown a lot & was in good shape
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: I'm still pondering whether to use flax (fat flush) or
coconut oil, which is supposed to be good for the thyroid
evile: coconut is saturated, not good for high blood pressure...
SkyeDS: don't have high blood pressure.
evile: It mimics animal fat in your veins & arteries. In soapmaking,
it is very drying to the skin. Personally, I wouldn't ingest it if at
all possible.
SkyeDS: if sineater gets another Ajilon assignment and we get our health
insurance back, the first thing I'm going to do is go through
traditional channels where my thyroid is concerned.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: however, if that doesn't work, have to go somewhere.
evile: yup
SkyeDS: there are other oils good for the thyroid, I know olive is
one of them
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I haven't finished my research into them all yet. Have just
read about coconut so far, and haven't even read enough about it yet
evile: yeah
evile: there is a lot of info out there, always good to educate
yourself.
SkyeDS: I'm already expecting a battle from traditional md's over
subclinical hypothyroid
SkyeDS: they all pretty much want to medicate ranges and not symptoms
evile: exactly
SkyeDS: subclinical = IN range, but low, hence SUBclinical
evile: right.
SkyeDS: and paradoxically enough, my attitude about ADD/HD is
entirely different
SkyeDS: there are too many doctors medicating the symptoms and not
doing the definitive test
evile: yup
SkyeDS: eg, spectrograph EEG
SkyeDS: thing is, the symptoms they medicate could be any number of
things other than ADD/HD, and given the medication if that's not what
the problem is, only fucks things up worse
SkyeDS: subclinical thyroid symptoms are VERY specific
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: I saw the results of Marshal's test, and told his mother, no
offense, but that boy is not add/hd or ODD, he's a spoiled brat
SkyeDS: and I think I have a lead on why she's such a shrill shrew
evile: she's nuts?
SkyeDS: her husband contradicts her in front of Marshal, completely
undermining all her attempts at discipline, and she feels completely
out of control
evile: sad.
SkyeDS: she's probably nuts too
SkyeDS: but I've seen her try to do the right thing
SkyeDS: and I've seen him countermand it
evile: that sucks!
SkyeDS: I don't think she's reacting to this negative stimulus the
right way
SkyeDS: but I do think it is a reaction
evile: nope.
SkyeDS: she's got every reason to be upset, what she needs is a
better mode of expression
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: anyway, Derald went too far when he interposed himself in my
lesson.
SkyeDS: I dont' believe that will be happening again.
evile: dang.
SkyeDS: I have said this before, and I'll say it again.
SkyeDS: when you are in the training ring, Sensai/Master is the
ultimate authority.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Now if you can't handle that, you don't get into the training
ring with that particular sensai/master
SkyeDS: you find someone you can put that trust in
SkyeDS: not unlike the D/s relationship
SkyeDS: in training animals, the cycle goes like this. training
starts out good, then gets bad.
SkyeDS: then it gets better
SkyeDS: then it gets even worse than it ever was before
SkyeDS: which is always a surprise to anyone who isn't expecting it
SkyeDS: because they get to better than it's ever been before, and
think they've made it, and stop there
SkyeDS: after worse, if you don't give up, you get consistent. which
is what you want.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: so, in the last lesson, marshall went from better to worse
SkyeDS: and his dad enabled it
SkyeDS: worse is always heartbreaking, even w hen I expect it
evile: I'm sure.
SkyeDS: his dad shows up 20 minutes before the end of an hour lesson,
offering him pizza for dinner
SkyeDS: nice distraction there
SkyeDS: plus, he had been set to a task that his dad showing up
interrupted
evile: suck!
SkyeDS: then he started flat balking at everything that was asked of
him, and he's always given win-win no resistance choices
SkyeDS: ie you can do this, or you can do that (either one of which
gives me a response I want)
SkyeDS: and for the first time ever in his lessoning, he just flat
refused to make a choice or do anything at all
SkyeDS: so I told Justina, might as well take him home
SkyeDS: can't do anything else with him
SkyeDS: so t hen Derald was going to write my check for 20 minutes
short
evile: that's probably a good coping mechanism when stuck between mom
screching for him to do one thing and dad telling him he's going to
get it if he obeys mom
SkyeDS: I said, um no I don't think so
SkyeDS: oh Marshall plays those two like a fucking video game, and so
I told her
SkyeDS: then I sent him to the porch to put his nose against the
door, not to look or speak to anyone, and I THOUGHT the adults
involved would understand that they should not look or speak to him
SkyeDS: but apparently Derald took objection to this
evile: I am pretty much for whatever consenting adults want to do, so
if crazy screechy wants to spend her life being cut down by jerk guy,
fine. But then people bring kids into it,and that just pisses me off.
SkyeDS: exactly
SkyeDS: and I think we may be the only people in Marshal's life that
are good influences
evile: that's just very sad.
SkyeDS: so we try very hard, but we don't have enough resources time
or powerwise to completely combat everything by ourselves
SkyeDS: Derald seems to think that discipline should come from
outside the home but not inside it
evile: nope. Plus, you're not the parents.
SkyeDS: so teachers are supposed to impose discipline, but he got
madder than a wet hen when I did.
evile: Other than establishing discipline in your own 'classroom' and
reporting to authorities if you think he's abused, that's pretty much
the extent of your control of the situation.
SkyeDS: Derald is playing the abuse situation
SkyeDS: he doesn't seem to realize that CPS is not going to take
Marshal and give him to Derald
evile: what do you mean by that?
SkyeDS: that is for a court to decide in a divorce proceeding
SkyeDS: if CPS takes him, CPS takes him from both of them, and that's
the end of that
evile: poor kid.
SkyeDS: Derald is inclined to attempt to use CPS against Justina.
SkyeDS: example.
SkyeDS: Marshall refuses to eat what's for dinner
SkyeDS: gets sent to his room
SkyeDS: Derald lets him out and gives him what he wants to eat
SkyeDS: if Justina tries to stop that Derald tells CPS that Justina
is starving the boy
evile: that sucks.
SkyeDS: Derald and Marshall need to understand something about CPS.
SkyeDS: CPS Is not the frying pan, it's the fire
SkyeDS: and foster families often times do more damage than the
original family
SkyeDS: once CPS takes a kid, that's that, no going back, no fixing
evile: very sad.
SkyeDS: these people don't seem to understand that there are things
that once broken cannot be mended
evile: yup
SkyeDS: I was looking for a quote from the assassin's handbook the
other day about not doing what can't be undone
SkyeDS: but couldn't find it
evile: I hate it when that happens.
evile: I used to keep a bunch of quotes online, but I haven't updated
my list in a while.
SkyeDS: I have a list of good quote pages online in my head
SkyeDS: which is not a good place to keep lists anymore
evile: I hear ya. I have to write everything down these days.
SkyeDS: I think I go overboard with quotes, and I"m getting worse
with time
SkyeDS: but why should I attempt to say what's already been said
better?
evile: yup
SkyeDS: I notice Avena Sativa listed as both thyroid and
perimenopause effective
SkyeDS: perimenopause = starts at 35
evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: and I think black cohosh is suggested in fat flush along with
evening primrose if I don't remember incorrectly (books at home, not
here)
evile: yeah, black cohosh is a good woman's herb
SkyeDS: thing is perimenopause and subclinical hypothyroid have
similar symptoms
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: but, I have suffered these symptoms all my life, and am just
now closing in on perimenopause
SkyeDS: although the symptoms are getting slowly but surely worse, so
perimenopause isn't helping anything for sure
evile: so logically it's probably more likely to be thyroid, perhaps
now being complicated by the other hormonal stuff
SkyeDS: nod, and scht gets worse with age
evile: yup.
evile: One of my TIM friends just asked me if *I* was being abused,
due to my recent LJ posts. jeez.
SkyeDS: Friday is going to be superpurge day. Carpets cleaned,
banishing ritual (think I'll include EVERY source I can identify and
not just one)
SkyeDS: (eg, Gloria and her brood as well as him and his)
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: why is the exercise of jumping to conclusion so prevalent in
LJland?
evile: I guess people get bored at work.
SkyeDS: one of the things you posted made a good point I don't think
any of the others did
evile: what's that?
SkyeDS: all of us do some of those things on rare occasions when
we're angry
evile: yup
SkyeDS: I felt much better after I posted my little two cents.
evile: good.
SkyeDS: I am going to admit ahead of time that I have one more snarky
post to make
SkyeDS: I"m going to make it Friday before my banishing
evile: ok.
SkyeDS: and that will be the end of that
SkyeDS: it's temptation, and I don't really want to resist it, it
will be short and sweet
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: but exceedingly, exceedingly tacky.
evile: Oh well
SkyeDS: the person being snarked at already thinks I'm the queen of
snark
SkyeDS: he ought to know better
evile: piffle.
SkyeDS: too bad the true queens of snark cannot be loosed on him
evile: more like have better things to snark...
evile: no point in using an elephant gun on a gnat
SkyeDS: nope
SkyeDS: in my own defense, I am seldom snarky anyway, I usually keep
it to myself
SkyeDS: and I always know when I'm being that way, and admit it
freely, and take responsibility for the negative energy
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if you hear a rattlesnake warning rattle and you don't get
out of the way it's your fault, you were forewarned.
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: as opposed to getting chased by a cottonmouth without warning
and bitten for no reason
evile: *nod*
evile: I wonder what sonar0m would think of me posting a link to the
homonym of 'grate' that I think he meant to use?
evile: I don't think we know each other well enough for him to take
that as a friendly, humorous gesture.
SkyeDS: lol just keep in mind that he is severely dyslexic
SkyeDS: but he has a tremendously good sense of humor about it
evile: his LJ makes me want to whip out a giant red pen....also hurts
my head trying to figure out what he's talking about.
SkyeDS: ya
evile: I know he's a nice person and all, but I just don't think I
really want to be in touch with him through a medium in which he is
so weak.
SkyeDS: then don't
evile: OK.
evile: I just did not want it to become an issue ("why hasnt she
friended my boyfriend" or somesuch)
SkyeDS: no worries
evile: cool.
evile: One of the mods of the austin voyager yahoo group was at girls
night last night. We talked about the ridiculous hoo-ha going on
there right now.
evile: She was wanting to ban kenneth, and not do a thing to amelia
amelia
evile: I suggested that banning was a little more punitive than the
situation called for, maybe just put them both on 'moderated post'
status for a while until they can stop reacting and slow down to
think about what they're doing
evile: Her father is deathly ill, and her cat is also ill, so she's
got more important things to worry about, poor thing.
SkyeDS: what happened?
SkyeDS: what did Amelia and Kenneth do?
evile: There was a heated debate re: privacy, which amelia started.
evile: And then once that was resolved to her satisfaction, amelia
started talking about how if someone hosts a voyagers party in their
home, they have no right to exclude anyone based on their own[ the
hosts'] preference
evile: onyxlynxx had just joined, like, 4 days ago and she was all
like "is this group always like this?"...I felt bad for anyone who
had just joined the group at that point...very bad impression for new
people.
SkyeDS: ya
evile: I had been sitting on my hands for days, but finally had
enough yesterday and told amelia to remove objects from orifices and
step AWAY from the computer.
SkyeDS: rofl
evile: Granted, Kenneth has gotten wrapped up in irrelvant sidetracks
from the main argument, which kept it going longer than it should,
but I saw amelia more as the instigator.
SkyeDS: so you have learned that we are not all enlightened godlike
beings once again
evile: I pretty much knew that about the gwnn/voyager crowd already :P
evile: I was just really stunned that the mod wanted to put all the
blame on Kenneth. Her rationale is that amelia has been in the group
longer..well, so what?
evile: poor behavior is poor behavior, longevity has nothing to do
with it, IMHO. And that's kind of a weird attitude for a group geared
towards BDSM beginners to have, anyway.
SkyeDS: no different than the polys.
evile: I miss Mouser. He did not feed trolls or allow them to thrive
long in the austin poly group, RL or yahoo.
SkyeDS: online anyway
SkyeDS: not much he could do I wager at meetings
evile: depends on size of the group, milieu, etc.
evile: I watched him, more than once, make it uncomfortable for
sexual predators to hang out at first wednesday
SkyeDS: do let me know when/if he starts coming again?
evile: He's back in FL.
SkyeDS: well, I hope he's happy
evile: me too.
evile: Man...I am so ready for my nap!!
SkyeDS: hibernation weather
evile: yup.
evile: I'm thinking I might start trying to take my flaxseed and epo
at dinner, and then just take the calcium/magnesium/zinc at bedtime by
itself, see if that helps the nightmares. I could just stick it out
for however long it takes for my brain chemistry to get used to the
extra nutrition, but...eh.
SkyeDS: I need to get started on fat flush period
SkyeDS: but it's just going to have to wait until the trailer problem
is solved
evile: *nod*
evile: at last! Time to run free!...well, walk slowly free.
SkyeDS: time to go home, wind to your wings :)
evile: Have a good evening & happy mardi gras :)
