2768 me & J-Law re: making nice to the nuts in our family tree
Dec. 29, 2004
me:
Last night, stepdad, in late-night painful family-talk,
asked me why I can't try and be nice to the Rubber Pig
the same way I've tried to make nice with skye_ds. I
honestly have no answer. Other than "insanity is doing
the same thing over and over and expecting different
results." why bother?
J-Law:
I think you're on to something with TRP - how many times can a
rational person bang her head against a wall? TRP is the one who is
ostensibly joining the family. By my lights at least, lots of effort
has been made to welcome her and her yardapes, accommodate her whims
and wishes, yet she has made no corresponding effort at all. In
fact, she puts up neurotic roadblock after neurotic roadblock. That
is her problem, not yours/y'all's, and I don't think any of you are
obliged to participate in her sick game by continuing to bust through
them.
Another significant factor is, for better or for worse, sineater and
skye_ds are legitimately married. They have been for years. Brother A
and TRP are not in fact married, and everyone pretending for the sake
of form that they are doesn't change a damned thing. There is
nothing about their relationship (e.g. duration) that would suggest
to you all that it's time to let go of things and try to build a
relationship. It is very clear to me that TRP is after whatever she
can get out of Brother A/your family, after which she will move on to the
next idiot boy who wants to take care of her and her bastards.

me to J-Law:
So, after the talk w/stepdad, I once again said that I
would not talk shit about Rubber_pig (because it upsets
Mom), and my resolve was sorely tested last night
when
I went over to Aunt L & Uncle B's and Mom showed me
dresses
she'd bought for 'the grandchildren' to take a
little
holiday photo of them all dressed up...I did agree
not
to talk crap, so I didn't say a thing, but I'll be
goddamned if I fuss and coo over the widdle pwecious
dwesses for the 'grandkids'. F THAT!! I just looked
at
them and didn't say a thing.
Can't wait for polydinner tonight. I really want to
spend time with my friends. *sigh*

Bleeeecccch!!!!! Oh. Oh. ohlord. I am gonna hurl. Here it comes:
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccccc
ckkkkkk!
But, you're right. At this point, it is better not to talk smack
about TRP in front of your mom.
Although, I do think it is unwise of her to get so attached to these
kids who (a) aren't even 'yours', and (b) could be whisked away at
any whim of TRP's, either by leaving Brother A altogether (yay!) or as
part of some manipulative, attention-seeking scheme.
me to J-Law:
well, mom's fallen for Rubber_pig's guilt tripping bullcrap
100%, it seems. Nobody else has, as far as I know. The
kids aren't bad...but their mom is a deal-breaker.
==============
did not send this part to J-Law:
Brother A excorciated L&B [in very Rubber_pig-esque langauge, btw--shades of
sineater's 'confession'] for not staying longer at Lyra's "birthday"
(they dropped a present by, having been told that the plan was to go
to Rubber_pig's mom's for a cookout. When they got there, Rubber_pig was on the
bed in the living room, 'sick', and the kid's party at her REAL
grandmother's was cancelled as a result...So, Rubber_pig got Brother A all
stirred up and sicced him on L&B for not 'spending quality time'--
what.ever. I think she was actually trying to get L&B to take the
kids off her hands that day with the 'sick' act & got mad when it
didn't work.)
