E to J-Law:

Your new years eve sounds really 'my speed'. Still no definite plans
here. Mom, Stepdad & Sister H are going to H's dad's friends' party in San
Antonio (pretentious pseudo intellectual aging yuppie hipster types).
Sweetie more than likely wants to go to J&K's property to
camp out, get drunk & light things on fire with the rednecky white
trashy pot-smoking renfaire crowd. I find myself really NOT liking
them much anymore. The substance abuse, uncontrolled drunkenness, and
lewd behavior (all of the above in front of or involving children),
coupled with the hypocrisy of their expectation that Sweetie & I be joined
at the hip so that I don't 'mack' on their men just infuriates me.

I am leaning toward the San Antonio party, just for more time with my
folks. If not for my fam, I'd just stay home.

Some of the poly group are having a S&M party for new years eve. I am
*really* not up for that.

*sigh* Bleh. Sigh.



J-Law to me:

I mean, I have this faboo outfit all ready for a party, but it is
supposed to rain.... and I just don't fancy being out, hammered, in
shitty weather.

Love "pretentious pseudo intellectual aging yuppie hipster types" and
your description of the renfaire hippies. Gawd. Both sound awful,
but I would definitely opt for the family, too.

John is spending his New Year's moving. Heh!

Yeah, there's a lot going on at work. We're allegedly filing a
motion today, and I have to prepare for some depositions. Gack.
Makes for a *rilly* fun day. But I figured if I got in early and got
most of it done, I could leave early tomorrow! Weeeeeeeeee!

Maybe I'm just suffering from post-Decemberween-party
crash. The party wasn't that great, BTW. No major
drama, but no major fun either. Not a very big
turnout. No great conversations.

Next year I'm either doing nothing or going to Vegas.
I only get the 24th off, so I am not going to get all
crazy.

I wonder if Sweetie goes to the white trash bacchanalia in
the woods without me, if they'll give HIM as much shit
as they give ME when I show up alone. Probably not.
All those sodden skanks who don't want me hugging
their guys 'hi' and 'bye' without Sweetie's presence will
probably be giving him lapdances and flashing their
tits at him & shit. Not that I care, I know where Sweetie
sleeps at night and I trust him completely. He will
probably be more amused/disgusted than aroused by such
a display, anyway. But the hypocrisy of it is what
yanks my chain, ya know?

I have phone duty tomorrow, so I'll be done around 3.
That'll be cool. And I really hope Sweetie doesn't
bitch/whine at me if I decide to go to San Antonio
without him.

I will be sure and invite sineater & skye_ds to go along
with us to the pretentious aging hipster gathering.
She'll fit right in (ex stepdad's band will be there, and
she's a musician & whatnot), and sineater can visit with
his father.

OH! I don't know if I told you: they went to Texarkana
to visit her folks for Xmas and were supposed to come
back the 26 or 27 so sineater could visit with his dad & they
could come to Decemberween. Their truck crapped out on
them to the tune of a $3,000 transmission replacement,
skye_ds's dad loaned sineater half the money, and they
ended up having to board the horses somewhere, and go
back and forth between staying with skye_ds's 'rents &
her grandma for, like, 4 extra days while the repair
got done. The plan was that they were getting back to
Austin late last night, sineater is working today, and
will come over after work to see his dad.

feh.

Now the Chinese we ordered isn't here and I am
considering just warming up the crap I brought from
home.

Hi, now a chance to email you and let you know what's happened.
Well; We got up here Tues afternoon, the check engine light had come
on and resetting the damn thing ha no effect, in other words the
condition was now constant. Took it to the Dodge dealer up here for
diag (since the controversy over fuel filter-- oh; I get to that
soon) and the code is for the torque converter INSIDE THE
TRANSMISSION. Discussed with skye_ds's dad and that fits, the slight
overrevving and poor mileage are signs of torque converter going out
which necessitates ... wait for it .. replacing the whole goddamn
transmission.

Why yes, dear, that -is- a solid kick in the nuts.
Even pulling strings, we can't get the transmission replaced sooner
than Monday. Meaning, we won't be there for Decemberween, or to see
Dad and K/mom. I've done my screaming and crying over this already
btw. So we're stuck here, 4 days longer than intended. So far
everybody getting along, minor miracle in and of itself. Found a
pasture to keep the girls in for the duration, when it was going to
be a -short- visit Farris (her grandma) had volunteered her yard (no
shit, we were quite surprised) but after 6 days they'd destroy the
place.

Worked out a deal, her parents are loaning us half of the three!
thousand! fucking! dollars! to get the transmission replaced. And
that -is- the strings-pulled discount price.

Have to run now, numbers here are xxx xxx xxxx and xxx-6080. More
later... I'm upset that we are going to miss Dad and K/mom. However,
if they are coming through Texarkana, maybe we can get together for
a little bit?

Have to find Dad's cell #. Anyway, Morel ater;

Sorry about the family drama. What a pain!!!!! You offered options -
hopefully G and your mom will suss the rest themselves.

That's scary about sineater. I get spacey, too, but I can still put a
sentence together. He should go to the dr.

I cannot wait for the party. It's going to be so much fun,
especially since I won't have my phantom pregnancy to worry about.
