I had a nice evening last night, walked with Chancie and onyxlynxx, and
after that poly dinner. Dinner was good, even though 'skye' & her 'boys'
showed up. Ick. I just hate the twitchy, mumbly, subservient way sineater
behaves in her presence. It makes me fuckin' sick. I love him, and I
want to see him, but not with her around. onyxlynxx and nikiyoy and maggiemaepisces
rescued me, we had to walk Meg to Opal Divine's to meet her sweetie,
dontchaknow?

Nice visit with everyone else. It was: Chancie, onyxlynxx, Me, Jadey & her
sons, Meg, Dave P, Kulilinei, Knighthorse, Kai, Ladydreamtime, Scrith, thenakedredhead & her little one, Sam,
skye_ds, sineater, & sonar0m, & a couple of new people, Justin and his
friend Stacy, who was wearing some gorgeous amber and lapis jewelry.

Seamus McStinkypants was there, but fortunately he didn't say
anything to me or any of my gals, or I would have had to open a can
of whoop ass.

I got to talk with Dave P., who is hosting the NK! rent party this
weekend. He wasn't sure it would still be going on after hte GWNN
munch, so I decided to go over and swim & visit BEFORE the munch.

Went over to Opal's and visited with Glenn, Penny, and Maite, and
Meg. Meg was talking about her son's weight problem and apparently
that was hitting nikiyoy's issues, so we left, ran into Kulilinei, Knighthorse &
Kai in the parking garage & visited (Knighthorse was disgusted by 'skye''s
dining manners & horrified that she said something about how he is
really good about using LJ cuts--since she has't friended him and
reads him, he feels like she's a stalker) Then they left and we went
& stood in the beer cooler at WF to cool off. Things between me and
nikiyoy seem back to normal, which is nice.

I got to try out my zapper on a few folks, that was fun. Kulilinei said
she loved my smile when I was talking about it and doing it.

Tonight is a 3 hour S&M101 class at SAADE, and tomorrow is yoga, then
NK party, then GWNN munch that evening, and then Sunday is Church of
the Toob.

Mom was waiting on her title in the mail before she started the drive
to TX to give her old car to [brother A], as far as I know. Even though she
paid $25 extra for them to expedite it, it still isn't there, and for
whatever reasons she had htem send it to her house in IN instead of
mailing it to TX--she could have just had them mail it to L&B and
just had a nice chill time visiting here while waiting for the
paperwork to arrive. Oh well, nobody asked me. If she shows up this
weekend, I'll have to alter my plans some, but I don't anticipate
that happening.

So glad it's Friday. I'm tired! But in a good/fun way :)

evile: yeah...it sounded like a really fun time. :(
Sharjinka: I hope it is. They're putting so much effort into this.
evile: it sounds like it! I hope someone gets a lot of good pictures!
Sharjinka: I hope so too!
evile: I really want to get my cousin Ben out to HFS sometime; I
think he may be too 'cool' to play, but maybe not. He needs more
friends his own age; he's spent his whole summer with me & my sweetie
& our friends, and my aunt & uncle.
Sharjinka: You might be right there....
evile: He is into this "I'm a stud, I want to be a Dom when I grow
up" phase..it's really cute.
Sharjinka: Really? That is adorable.
evile: heehee. He wants me to take him to GWNN and Voyagers stuff.
*sigh* What is it about me that brings everyone's freak side out in
the open???
Sharjinka: What's Voyagers?
evile: It's kind of an 'intro' group, or at least that's how it was
started.
Sharjinka: Oh. :-)
evile: kind of a less structured group than SAADE, but where you can
still learn new stuff & meet potential mentors in the scene.
evile: there's another group called 'TNG' which is for people 18-35.
That might be a good resource,too. I am trying very hard to be
the 'cool cousin'...give him a safe place to talk about stuff and
learn things, so he will be safe.
Sharjinka: I can understand that.
evile: I feel pretty awkward at times, but I keep trying to be
like "Ok, that's cool, people feel that way and people do that, and
it's normal and OK fo r you to want to try that."
Sharjinka: :)
evile: thank god I am not a parent. It's challenging enough to think
of a more distant relative as sexually active, I could not handle
thinking of my own children that way.
Sharjinka: Yeah...my nieces have years to go until that happens. I'm
already worried.
evile: *nod* And you are going to be the 'cool aunt' who gets allll
the questions, I'm sure.
Sharjinka: I hope not!
evile: they grow up SO fast. My friend has a 12 year old who is
already drawing her own anime characters that have a BDSM aspect to
their costumes & their little stories that she makes up to go with
them.
evile: I imagine I'll be taking her to her first Voyagers or GWNN
event in 6 yrs.
Sharjinka: Oh, boy. Won't that be fun? ;-)
evile: scary. But...I would rather know that she is in a safe place,
with people who will show her the right way to play.
Sharjinka: I agree.
evile: OH! Skye and 'the boys' came to poly dinner last night.I was
so glad that Meg needed us to walk her to Opal's, it was a good
excuse to leave. I love sineater, but I hate the twitchy, mumbly ,

Sharjinka: I agree. Why does he accept that sort of treatment?
evile: *shrug* He really has very little self-esteem.
Sharjinka: I dropped a VERY subtle hint in my LJ. Said something
about treating people the way I like to be treated.
evile: *nod* I saw that.
Sharjinka: Too bad it's not picked up on.
evile: It's bizarre; she can take offense at 20 paces, from something
that isn't aimed at her, or meant as offense, but can't take hints on
proper behavior for anything!
Sharjinka: I've noticed that. I even said something to her once
about sonar0m. She snapped at him for something and I said in my best
shocked voice. "There's no reason to answer him like that!"
evile: good for you :)
Sharjinka: I just was all shocked and surprised and she told me it
was okay to talk to him like that. "Well...I guess if he accepts it,
okay....but .....I don't let people talk to me like that."
evile: sad.
Sharjinka: Yeah...I thought so too. She completely missed what I was
getting at.
evile: but you hit it exactly--he permits himself to be treated that
way. Maybe he doesn't know any better, but that's still his choice.
Sharjinka: True.
evile: that's why she gets 'em young, I think. Because they really
haven't had enough experience to know that isn't a normal way to be
treated in a relationship.
Sharjinka: Yes, I noticed that. I do think it's a shame and it
drives me a bit crazy...
evile: yeah...gamer & geek groups seem to be very vulnerable to
sexual predators.
Sharjinka: Yes.... Poor not socially adept guys. *sigh*
evile: yup. but, the good news is that voyagers, gwnn, and poly are
all groups with pretty savvy, experienced people, and she can't get a
foothold anywhere
Sharjinka: That's good news. :-) I'll be back in a bit. Taking a

home way too late

SkyeDS: I'm afraid I'm going to find out months from now that Mirage
went visiting with the studcolt next door
evile: it's always possible.
SkyeDS: I'm hoping that Jesse and his electric fence will have
prevented that.
evile: me too!
evile: Meg was in kind of a foul mood; we ended up not staying long
at Opal's.
evile: anything juicy happen after we left?

evile: *nod* cool. I am hoping Seamus has finally learned the fine
art of not being a complete pervy wierdo right from the getgo.

SkyeDS: they're jousting in an open field which means that all I have
to do is bring the portable set up I'm making
SkyeDS: I was going to invest in a full size training round pen (made
of panels)
SkyeDS: and then it occurred to me, if I got 2x2s, seisal rope, rebar
and eyehooks
SkyeDS: I could have any kind of enclosure I want
SkyeDS: anywhere I want

SkyeDS: that would include jousting lanes with counter barriers
SkyeDS: a rectangular small dressage arean
SkyeDS: arena
SkyeDS: or a round pen
SkyeDS: many more uses, much more portable, a hell of a lot cheaper
SkyeDS: that works for me

SkyeDS: now, as a round pen for training, it's only going to be
useful for my horses
SkyeDS: I couldn't start a new horse there or put a bad habit therapy
rehab in it
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: because it isn't going to provide the right kind of barrier
for a horse intent on testing it
SkyeDS: but since I don't have any of those right now, who cares
evile: yup.
evile: well,and assumng you ever did get another horse, you probably
wouldn't take it out on the road to do contests and shows until it
was as docile as Mirage and Jessie.
SkyeDS: what I'm hearing from Sabrina (RL) and Rick (RR) is that they
are more after fantasy than actual period
SkyeDS: and I told them well, rest assured that if any period nazis
come sniffing around, I'm ready for them, I am an SCAdian (as well as
a paralegal and English teacher) and I've done my research
SkyeDS: but I'm not going to spoil it for the audience, the nazis can
come find me, I'm not going to go looking for them
SkyeDS: Scarby has always had fantasy and even TRF has fantasy now
that it's been bought out.
evile: good.
SkyeDS: and last year or year before Excal combined King Arthur with
Robin Hood fer cryin out loud. That's pretty fantasy right there.
evile: yup!
evile: It occurred to me (much too late) that I didn't set the best
example for the newbies on how to behave at poly dinner. :(
SkyeDS: did I miss something?
evile: showing people my toy...no wonder people like Seamus and Mr.
No Pants Pagan think it's OK to talk filthy & ask people too-personal
questions.
SkyeDS: oh I don't know, I thought it went over well, everyone had a
good time with it
SkyeDS: it was consensual
SkyeDS: I wasn't present for Seamus or MacPants, but my surmise is,
what they were subjecting people to wasn't consensual
evile: yeah...but it sent a message to the newbies that they can act
like that...when the fact of the matter is nobody knows them well
enough to permit it comfortably. I feel bad holding people to a
higher standard of behavior than I maintain myself.
SkyeDS: I'm sure in front of a different audience you'll do
differently
evile: it was a public place, children & mixed company, I should have
thought before I did it. I will do better next time.
SkyeDS: I know when I'm a newbie I try to be very sensitive to do as
the Romans are doing when in rome
SkyeDS: just because a small group wherein the children weren't
immediately in attendance, that's one thing
SkyeDS: but even I know that in a different restaurant, with a
different mix of people, with children more immediately present
SkyeDS: I couldn't do/say the same things
SkyeDS: what I mean to say is, I'm pretty socially dense and even I
can figure out such things for myself, without examples being set for
me.
SkyeDS: (and not doing a good job of saying it, as usual)
evile: *nod* Well...I'm going to do better at behaving properly next
time I'm out and about...there are more private places up on the
patio where I could ahve taken people to show them my new toy,
unobserved by people who didn't want to see it, or will get the wrong
idea of how people behave at poly dinner.
SkyeDS: nods. no harm done, won't happen again, all's well that ends
well :)
SkyeDS: that's the way I felt about my last such snafu, which was
much more worse than yours (according to everyone else involved
anyway - some of whom are still holding grudges so the grapevine says)
evile: hope so. I think I saw seamus taking pictures with his cell
phone. god only knows what hes' goign to do with them.
SkyeDS: which one was seamus?
evile: sitting to my left, after Dave. Between DAve and Jadey.
SkyeDS: I guess I wasn't paying good enough attention - what else is
new
SkyeDS: was Jadey the one talking to Andre about kids and gaming?
evile: *shrug* I don't remember what she was talking about. Probably
kids. Dunno about gaming. She was the blonde in the green blouse
SkyeDS: what does Meg do at Opal's? I thought the pagans met
upstairs. I know I've heard Terri complain about it...
evile: not pagans. PNO is the 13th
SkyeDS: oh - that makes more sense.
evile: *nod* it's a regular Thursday thing for her boyfriend's group.
evile: ooh! Amazon finally came through--I got my copy of Kinkycrafts
yesterday :)
evile: lots of stuff that requires power tools and whatnot,but some
stuff that makes you go "hey, why didn't I think of that??"
evile: *happy dance* just got some flash cotton on ebay :)
SkyeDS: god I hate that
SkyeDS: doctors who call while hugh is gone
SkyeDS: and want to question me about details of his practice that I
have no clue about
evile: that's annoying!
SkyeDS: I ask if I can send them an information packet but they'd
rather me just read it to them over the phone
evile: ugh!
SkyeDS: and then want details that there's no way I could give them
even if I knew what they were because it would violate confidentiality
evile: jeez!
evile: I really wish I could go to Drandmir's thing tomorrow :(

evile: ugh. Today is just *crawling*. And oh, joy, a coworker's sons
are here. a 12 year old and a...less than a year old. bleh! So
naturally we all have to stand around and gawk at the new baby. BLEH.

evile: it's just so irritating. I can't wait to get the hell HOME. I
have a lot to do and not much time. *sigh*
SkyeDS: I would have been happier to stay home period today
evile: yup. tired today, even though I did manage to get to bed at a
decent hour. First time all week :P
evile: Chance showed us a really nice walking trail near WF. It went
by some condos, and then out to the Town Lake trail. Very pretty :)
Some shade, too.

evile: She has such a free spirit, she just goes where she wants and
meets people and it's like she always belongs wherever she finds
herself.
SkyeDS: do you think anything keeps you from doing exactly the same?
evile: upbringing/experiences/expectations/lack of
confidence/...something.
SkyeDS: I want to take a long hot bath, have a massage, and fall
asleep watching a movie
evile: sounds like a nice evening. I need to clean the tub before I
can do that.
evile: & start laundry, and get the guest room ready and hopefully
get in a few minutes of exercise before SAADE
evile: *sigh* Lots of stuff to do at home, lots of stuff I'd _rather_
do than that.

evile: I've been absolutely starving the last couple days. I think my
metabolism is getting higher as a result of exercisng & now my thighs
are fighting for their right to thunder.
SkyeDS: onyxlynxx didn't seem to be in a good mood last night either
evile: No. I think Meg had pushed soem of her buttons, too.
evile: Well, I got here slightly early, so I'm leaving slightly early
as well.
*hugs* have a super weekend :)
