    GENERATION X

What's it like to play a part?
What's it like to have a wooden heart?
Every word you say is so rehearsed
You think your clothes and actions control the universe

    Listen, what you'd better do
    Listen, better change your head
Listen, or there's nothing we can do
Listen to the one who will change your world

You're the face upon a playing card
    A coloured painted cold visage
[You're] just a pawn of somebody somewhere
Only trouble is you're gonna get no-where

    Listen, what you'd better do
    Listen, better change your head
Listen, or there's nothing we can do
Listen to the one who will change your world

What's it like to play a part?
    [You] got a wooden heart
    [You're] just a puppet on a string
    A nothing, a no-one, no style
    [You] just play a part
[You're] just a pawn of someone somewhere
    and you'll get no-where

    Listen what you'd better do
    Listen, better change your head
Listen, or there's nothing we can do
Listen to the one who will change your world
    Gonna change your world
    Gonna change your world

    Hey, seester!

Do you think you'll be in TX around your birthday?
Margaret Cho will be here June 10. If you want, I can
get us some tickets to go see her.

I went over to my friend Nikiyoy's on Monday and we
watched a DVD of Ms. Cho, and it was HILARIOUS.

The fit has hit the shan as far as Paulie and all of
that...[brother A] & sineater had some kind of fight on Monday
and now [brother A] has disowned the family over it. I love
[brother A] a lot, and I love sineater too...but for my own
mental health I just have to stay away from that whole
fucked up situation. I can't help anything, but they
CAN hurt me if I try to get involved. It sucks. They
just get so involved in "reararanging the deck chairs
on the Titanic" type behavior, ya know?

ANYHOO, Mom & stepdad/G will be here today & tomorrow, then
start driving back to Indiana on Sunday. I am hoping
they have a nice calm visit here. We are doing bonfire
and s'mores in the back yard on Friday night.

    Love you!

    Hi evilE,
No, I won't be in TX for my birthday, but I will be
there next month for K.K.'s wedding (April 13-20).
I'll be in San Antonio all weekend, but I was
thinking it would be fun to have dinner somewhere
and spend the night maybe Thursday or Tuesday. Do
you still do Fajita Thursdays? Margret Cho is
funny, you should go to her show anyway. I'm glad
Mom is spending time with you all in Austin. There
is so much drama in Houston and especially San
Antonio. Mom said [brother A] is mad at her now for not
staying longer. What the fuck does he want from
her, she stayed in his hellhole of a life for weeks.
How did he turn out so different from us? You and
I share the ability to recognize crazy people and we
behave rationally and we have decent manners. That
stuff skipped [brother A] I think. Yeah, a lot of it is
rubber_pig's influence, but he let himself get involved
with her. I don't see you or I getting into a
relationship with someone so abnormal. She is a sac
of infection. That is my new insult,
I picked it up at the dentist's office. When a
person has an abscess tooth, the infection is in
sac attached to the roots of the tooth and comes out
when they pull it- I got to see one, it was
disgusting and fascinating. Tonight Jenny and I are
going to an Easter basket exchange party. All the
food has to be vegan, so no milk chocolate or even
Jello. I am going to try to make pectin"jello"
eggs, I'll let you know how they turn out. I love
    you- see you soon(!) -h

    ================

    me to H:

We have not been to fajita night in a long time, but I'm sure they
    still have it.

Tuesdays, Sweetie likes to go have chicken wings at Pluckers' and then go
drink beer with his buds. Sometimes I go along for the chicken part
    of the evening.

Come on over, you're more than welcome ANY TIME! I'm happy for K.K.
She seems very happy with her little family :)

I like "sac of infection"...it's not at all profane, yet very very
    descriptive.

Have fun with the pectin jell-o. I have a crazy friend who did non-
dairy pudding with soy milk and...tapioca flour or something. She
said it was fine. Sounded gross to me!

    Love you, seester!!!

evile: good lord almighty, girl, what brought all THAT on???
SkyeDS: it wasn't just any one thing, it was a lot of things
happening to a lot of people
evile: seems like there's plenty of shit sandwiches being served up
    lately, that's for sure.
SkyeDS: [brother A] and rubber_pig, Chris Loy and kaleon, all the people Jinx
loves attacking her personally, Karen trying to start shit with Laura
SkyeDS: the first four would apply to sineater and y ou both
SkyeDS: and more stuff elsewhere, but that's primary
evile: Chrisloy certainly does seem to get overly involved in her
friends' troubles. It's one thing to be concerned and caring, quite
another to believe that you've got the magic words or whatever that
    will 'fix' everything.
SkyeDS: I don't know who she was talking about in her post of March 13
SkyeDS: sounded like sineater, but could have been anyone
SkyeDS: because it is her pattern, and sineater and I aren't the only
    ones in that pattern
SkyeDS: but then kaleon (who never met her) replied to it
evile: she's got a friends-locked post going on right now where she's
talking about a friend, and the friend's child, so it may not be sineater
    at all...
SkyeDS: and between that and his posting to you, on top of all t he
other aforementioned shit, and that was just too much
    SkyeDS: it probably isn't
    SkyeDS: like I said, it's a pattern
evile: I guess you're not the only person who reads friends of
    friends LJs :P
SkyeDS: I assume if he gets to be a nuisance you will block him
SkyeDS: I told sineater you weren't LJ challenged and you knew how to do
    such things
evile: *nod* and just be more careful about what I make public. I
wish my friends were a littel more circumspect at times, but I can't
    tell them what to do.
SkyeDS: I do know however that her feelings about me and sineater are
about exactly the same, again, it's a pattern
SkyeDS: and when her pattern drew kaleon's pattern to it, I was like,
    OMFG
SkyeDS: the world is a small place
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and I know that most of the people my rant was aimed at won't
    ever see it
    SkyeDS: but I felt better
    evile: *nod*
evile: I'd be super nosy to see what The Pig's Lj looked like, if she
    had one.
SkyeDS: exactly, it would be morbid curiosity entertainment
SkyeDS: why I find myself watching wifeswap and trading spouses
    occasionally despite myself
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and now that I have my Rant out, all the exposition and all
the explication, i can just kill people now
SkyeDS: "I'm going to kill you now"
    evile: heh. I wish.
    SkyeDS: "Why?"
    SkyeDS: You've already been warned
SkyeDS: and as far as kaleon is concerned, he's cruisin fer a bruisin
SkyeDS: sineater had put him out of his mind until he posted to your
    journal and CL's
evile: he's in oklahoma, and maybe Japan soon, so the only mischeif
he can cause is if we react.
SkyeDS: he better hope he ends up in Japan
SkyeDS: because if sineater decides to make a trip to Oklahoma, or catch
him on one of his trips to Austin, I'm not going to stop him this
time, I'm going to help him.
SkyeDS: that way i don't have to pay to get him out of jail.
evile: well, he's bored, and apparently has no life, so he has to
make up stuff to get into. Whatever. I have real things to worry
    about.
SkyeDS: running his mouth about sineater = Bad Idea (tm)
SkyeDS: he apparently isn't bright enough to realize that things
like "I feel sorry for sineater and wish I could help rescue him" isn't
    exactly well received
SkyeDS: particularly after he spent 7 years trying to get rid of sineater
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: I am pleased that my banishing worked well enough that I
could not for the life of me yesterday figure out who you were
    talking about
SkyeDS: I honestly had not thought about him nor read his LJ since
    the banishing
SkyeDS: but if he continues running his mouth about sineater
    SkyeDS: that's sineater's fight
evile: that's probably the best approach...just put him out of your
mind. Energy spent on worrying about him is energy wasted.
SkyeDS: and I"m going to let him fight it whatever way he wants
SkyeDS: sineater is a very proud creature.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: at least he got a warning from me
SkyeDS: he'll get little to no warning from sineater at all
SkyeDS: people think my temper is worse because it's more visible and
    quicker
SkyeDS: but I get over it shortly after having lost it
SkyeDS: sineater's smolders like embers and eventually turns into an all
    devouring fire
SkyeDS: he isn't allowed to lose it on people without permission
because that might involve jail time, and that's not entirely a joke
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Laura and Linda thought I was jesting about that for
    laughter's sake
SkyeDS: until the night someone next door to Laura's stables was
shooting guns in our direction, bullets ricocheting everywhere
evile: this laura would be SCA laura?
    SkyeDS: right
SkyeDS: I got the girls and Arthur to as much relative safety as
could be had, and sineater literally went off to kill/maim them
SkyeDS: and Laura and Linda looked at me as if in epiphany and said,
you weren't kidding about his temper
evile: After this week, I'm thinking my back yard decor could use
    some heads on pikes....
SkyeDS: once I get me a set of toys made, I could provide those for
    you ;)
SkyeDS: I may get me a horsebow too, that looked like fun
    evile: *nod*
evile: I mailed [brother A] a post card...figure that's the best chance of
something I say being received. A phone call would either be not
answered, or I'd get a bunch of background shit from rubber_pig while I
tried to talk with [brother A]. An envelope might get torn up before the
    letter inside could be read.
SkyeDS: and K/mom sends postcards, so he's likely to think it's from
    her and read it
    evile: *nod*
    SkyeDS: smart
evile: I feel very stupid in this whole situation.
evile: Tricked, manipulated, manouvered into doing exactly what the
    fucking enemy wanted.
SkyeDS: I'm missing a lot, but with what I do have, I don't see how
any of us had any power to do effect events to transpire otherwise
SkyeDS: regardless of what we did or did not do
SkyeDS: unless of course you physically removed him from the situation
evile: that article says psychopaths use your weaknesses against you.
Julie says psychopaths see strengths as weaknesses... so my caring,
fairness, empathy, love, were all turned around and used to stab me
    in the heart...
SkyeDS: nods. been there and done that position, many many times
SkyeDS: and such is the price of caring, fairness, empathy and love.
you will continue to pay it, or you will decide not to be caring,
    fair, empathic and loving.
SkyeDS: and those of us who benefit from your better qualities will
offer to kill/maim those who abuse them (I'm not the only one, I
remember someone else offering weapons, I don't remember who)
evile: At the end of the day/my life, I have to be a person I
respect. I can't behave or feel in ways that go against who and what
    I am...
    SkyeDS: an example:
SkyeDS: at gulf wars, our enemy kingdom is trimaris
SkyeDS: the trimarians arrived, minus their horses, because of
    hurricanes
SkyeDS: and one of them, who is apparently very dear to laura and
linda, had lost her horse at the age of 27
SkyeDS: so when someone pointed this woman out to me, I went and
doffed my hat and offered her either Mirage or Jezebel to ride
    evile: aw.
SkyeDS: that blossomed into her riding, her partner riding, their
queen riding, and then a bunch of other duchesses and queens riding
SkyeDS: I loaned them Mirage for IKEq and War Point, and Trimaris
then proceeded to beat our Kingdom in Eq by one point.
SkyeDS: I doubt/hope it won't ever get back to Karen
SkyeDS: if it does I likely will never hear the end of it
SkyeDS: if that happens, Karen can kiss my fat happy white ass,
because Brenna and Rory are lovely ladies, and I value them more
after having known them for half a week (I met them on Thursday) then
I value Karen in the year or so I've known her.
evile: SCA seems to mirror society at large in that the virtues it
extolls are not necessarily personal practices of its membes, and in
fact when those virtues are employed, the person displaying the
virtue is excorciated rather than respected.
SkyeDS: Brenna lost her horse, and Rory has been unable to ride due
to cancer surgery and radiation treatment
SkyeDS: and Brenna suggested to Rory that if she kept Mirage at a
walk, Mirage would take care of her, and so she did.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: seems to be two kinds of people in the SCA - those who give a
damn about Politics (SCA, not national) and those who don't
SkyeDS: same is true of Amtgard and HFS on smaller scales
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I was really annoyed with Karen for calling right before we
    left
SkyeDS: trying ot get me upset and worried that I would drive 15
hours and end up with no place to stay for two nights
evile: yeah..that sounds like a bad note to begin a journey on....
SkyeDS: and then saying, "Laura doesn't know what she's talking about"
SkyeDS: then Karen calls back while I"m on the phone with
Laura, "call before you haul", so I let Laura listen to Karen, and we
    had a good laugh
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: so Laura is now the third of the Kingdom's Golden Lancers
    (knight equivalent)
SkyeDS: and the only woman, and the only non-knight
SkyeDS: Karen's only claim to fame is being a baroness, and that only
because she is married to Randy
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: when she came over Friday, after spending a week in the
company of Royals and Nobility and acquitting myself quite well
    according to everyone present
SkyeDS: Karen comes over, into *my* turf, and everyone says I
physically crumpled like a spider in a flame
evile: Some people do have that effect..
SkyeDS: she shouldn't have had, not when I was in my element
    SkyeDS: that's got to stop.
SkyeDS: two places I damn well shouldn't feel insecure, in/around the
    saddle, on/around piano bench
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: she can hate on ME garb all she wants, I was not showing
nipples above a chainmail bra 3 sizes too small
SkyeDS: nor did I have rolls of bellyfat hanging out either
    evile: ew
SkyeDS: I agree with her that women who are larger than I am even
shouldn't be wearing ME garb as an excuse to expose nipples and
    bellyrolls
SkyeDS: but she can't seem to distinguish that not all ME garb does
    that
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: there was not even an inch of flesh showing from the bottom
of my choli to the top of my sizable kuchi belt and sizable tassel
    belt
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and no nipples, nowhere near
SkyeDS: in addition, I had on a full tribal skirt on top of salwar
(harem pants) so there weren't see through pants with thong panties
    beneath either
evile: Yeah..that's one of my favorite Faire looks (sarcasm)
SkyeDS: I even figured out that an Italian Gypsy would have had
    access to Arabian horses
SkyeDS: Gypsies were recorded in Sicily in the 1480s
SkyeDS: Trapani (Sicilian port) had the first Gypsy reservation
SkyeDS: and the Arabs were in Sicily in the 800s
SkyeDS: so an Italian Gypsy would speak a) Rom b) Italian
SkyeDS: and wear a) western european garb and b) middle eastern garb
(since the romany migrated from India to begin with in 1000 ad)
SkyeDS: and have access to Arabian horses.
evile: sounds like a lot of research :)
SkyeDS: (so SCAnals can put period in their pipes and smoke it)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I gave the Pages School a 13 page research paper on parrots
before and during period, and they were pleasantly surprised, and
commented on "someone who does her research"
SkyeDS: the kids of course did not give a damn about Alexander the
Great, Artaxerxes, the Egyptians, the Romans, Columbus, Sir Francis
    Drake or Henry the VIII
SkyeDS: they just wanted to play with Arthur
    evile: *nod* of course :)
SkyeDS: Lisalotte wants to join the SCA and is feeling torn
SkyeDS: I told her I didn't see why she had to make a choice, because
    I didn't
SkyeDS: someone we like from Kalladen originally who moved to
ShadowMist apparently felt recently like he needed to choose
SkyeDS: I don't see why, he's military and has to leave for
months/years on end soon, so he isn't likely to have a chance to do
anything of the sort at all till who knows when
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: although, the SCA is worldwide, so it really doesn't matter
if he ends up in whoknowswherethefuckheis-istan, he's likely to find
SCA to play with IF he has the free time
evile: yeah. I know there were SCA people in Germany where D and Lyle
    were stationed.
SkyeDS: I told Sharjinka I wouldn't have joined the SCA were it not for
    the Equestrians
SkyeDS: and I damn well wouldn't join Bryn Gwlad even with the
    Equestrians
evile: I just got a really nice email from J-law:

I"you didn't do a damned thing wrong in that [brother A] thing. This is all
in his/rubber_pig's head and was planned by rubber_pig for reasons we can only
guess. You have no reason to feel guilty. In fact, you went the
extra mile to do something helpful for them and heroic for the dog.
They should all be kissing your feet."
SkyeDS: although Bridget complimented me highly when I took h er
ballet du cheval class, go figure
    SkyeDS: rubber_pig is fucking insane
SkyeDS: we damn well did. both of us. (heroism for Paulie)
evile: oh, yeah, and she also said "Ungrateful fucks." which made me
    laugh
evile: I always love it when my miss priss California Princess comes
out with a nice bit of profanity.
SkyeDS: I want her and DT/J-law and Kulilinei all in the same room at the
same time so I can enjoy their presences all at once :P
    evile: They're awesome gals.
SkyeDS: I figure he's madder at me than anyone else
evile: Kulilinei's having a bday picnic on Sunday at Pease. win win, I'll
get to see her and her family & maybe even pop over and see Barad
    Duin.
SkyeDS: since Connie was my friend and my idea
    SkyeDS: BD = Saturday
    evile: oops, I meant Saturday.
SkyeDS: I have a potential boarder coming out on Saturday
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: I will try to make park on Sunday but no promises
SkyeDS: one of many reasons I like SGP is because it is open to
midnight and has great trails that are well lit
evile: I was thinking about going to Excalibur, but turns out
Rengeek will be at 4 winds, and he was a major reason I wanted to go
    SkyeDS: he's a cutie!
evile: yup. I love him to pieces.
evile: omg, curiousity kills another cat. reading friends of friends
    LJs:
    http://www.livejournal.com/users/snapesmistress/63337.html
SkyeDS: I love Snape. and her icon is Scarlett OHara the morning
after Rhett carries her up the stairs and ravishes her.
evile: I still have never seen that movie. I sent the bicycle shorts
picture to my friend e.--she does mt. bike racing. I'm sure she's
seen that sort of thing up close & personal...ew
    SkyeDS: lol
SkyeDS: sineater took me to see it at the Paramount, on the big screen,
and they had exhibits of artifacts from the movie there, and it rocked
evile: That's what I want to do, wait till it's one of the summer
    movies at the Paramount.
evile: we have a projector at home now, so I coudl see it on a big-
ish screen at home but not the same thing.
    SkyeDS: cool :)
evile: he's had some wild hairs lately....
    SkyeDS: could be worse
    evile: true enough.
evile: Boss lady and 2nd in command are both gone this afternoon.
    It's really nice here today.
evile: I'm trying to remember if Pease park has grills...I could
bring charcoal & stuff to Kulilinei's party if so...
evile: sounds like they've got dessert pretty well covered, so I was
thinking about bringing something more like 'real food'.
SkyeDS: I don't recall seeing grills there but that doesn't mean
    there aren't
SkyeDS: there are picnic tables all around the playground
evile: Yeah, I'm picturing those in my head and trying to recall if
there are grills, too, or just tables. I guess I'll bring a casserole
or something that doesn't need to be cooked.
SkyeDS: I love my little hibachi for that reason
SkyeDS: although I'm thinking about getting a portable coleman all in
    one for eventing
SkyeDS: along with a hot portable shower and toilet
evile: we picked up some throw-away grills a few years ago for
    camping, those have been fun.
evile: We have a coleman; it's useful. Now that we have the vanagon
with built in stove we don't need it if we travel/camp in that :)
SkyeDS: Gramma gave me a two port coleman stove, I don't know if it
    still works
SkyeDS: what I"m looking at is a stove griddle and grill all in one,
    portable
    evile: *nod*
evile: ugh...I'm SO ready to start my weekend. My weekend of happy
    non drama happy stuff.
SkyeDS: sineater plans to come visit either today or tomorrow with G&K
evile: I have no plans from tonight when I get home, to whenever they
leave. Whatever they want to do is what I'm doing.
SkyeDS: he and stepdad/G discussed it and I have no clue (as usual)
    evile: oh well. me neither.
evile: Maybe Mom will want to go to Yoga w/me Saturday a.m. If not,
    I won't go either. I'd rather spend time w/family.
SkyeDS: I hope family time = non drama happy
evile: It's my house. If I can't have peace in my own home, I will
ship everyone off to the fricken ramada.
SkyeDS: nah. hopefully everyone else is now as tired of it as we
    have always been
    evile: hope so.
SkyeDS: caffeine free diet dr pepper, accompanied by a swanson
    chicken dinner with brownie, LOL
SkyeDS: I'm almost as bad as the college girls who eat large
    pepperoni pizzas with diet coke
evile: I am really liking the cherry vanilla dr peppers
SkyeDS: I think I had one of those and it was good
evile: I think Mom likes those too. I'll have to pick some up this
    evening.
SkyeDS: nice thing about sonic is you can get anything you've ever
thought of added to your drink
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: Wendy's is making fruit cups now (Chik Fila already had them)
    and that's a good thing
SkyeDS: even McD's has little apple slices
    evile: very cool.
SkyeDS: sineater should be in the midst of his 2 pm interview at Dell by
    now.
SkyeDS: I leave here at 6:30 with sonar0m in tow, headed to your neck
of the woods to collect two weeks rent (late) from the kids.
    evile: *fingers crossed*
    SkyeDS: also need gas.
SkyeDS: I think the men will probably try to get together either
tonight or sometime tomorrow or both, either way, you don't need me
    and the baby there too.
SkyeDS: I think sineater will probably come to my office before going
anywhere else after his interview, and I can keep you posted?
    evile: sure.
evile: I have no idea what anybody else's plans are. I get off at 4,
I'm going home. If nobody has anything for me to do, I am going to
    the grocery store.
SkyeDS: I'm trying out a new work schedule - 4 days 9 hours, one day
    4 hours
SkyeDS: since I can't manage a 4/10 with my drive (already tried that)
evile: now that the daylight is longer, it may work out better.
SkyeDS: also have an application in for private security/mounted
patrol, part time, with Hugh's blessing, don't know how that will
    turn out
SkyeDS: I have my suspicions that they are going to object to my
    height/weight disproportion
evile: well, good luck with that, anyway.
SkyeDS: if it pans out, cool, if not, oh well
SkyeDS: I had enough foresight to indicate interest in part, not
full, time, because I don't want to leave Hugh
SkyeDS: sineater applied too, I don't know for what shift.
SkyeDS: they'd probably come closer to hiring him, if he can get his
    horse to act right
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: No, Jesse, that's not a quintain, you can't eat his face, No.
SkyeDS: while Arthur understands No, the horses don't actually. All
they understand is Do, but not Do Not, so to effect Do Not, you have
to give them something else to Do
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: something I've noticed some dog trainers doing also
SkyeDS: ]Prophet/Malikai] compared my scribblings and bibblings
to Poe and Melville. I'm not too keen on Melville, but I do love
    Poe :D
evile: that was nice of him :)
SkyeDS: I think he's one of the best examples of a true knight the
    HFS has.
evile: he does seem like a very nice person.
SkyeDS: I bet the SCA/HFS conversation was interesting (with you
    Jinx and jg)
SkyeDS: Jinx is such a good friend doncha know
SkyeDS: I mentioned that I wanted her and Prophet to be some of my
first authorizations to get the game off the ground
SkyeDS: and she told Prophet, very generously, that he could have the
    white horse.
SkyeDS: (this is humorous if you understand that Jesse loves the
games and is good at them, and Mirage only does them because I ask
    her to)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: that does seem to be changing though, Mirage is becoming more
willing, albeit not enthusiastic. And she is actually better at some
    things than Jesse, surprisingly.
SkyeDS: I should not pick on my poor pretty pony.
    evile: She's a good horse.
SkyeDS: Brenna and Rory both swore they wouldn't ride Arabians
anymore because Arabians like to teleport (what I call the horizontal
horse rhumba). But Mirage changed their minds :)
    evile: that's very cool.
SkyeDS: truthfully I have more horse than I know what to do with, in
    both instances
SkyeDS: but as Tracie (Mike's mom, Crystal's mominlaw) pointed out, I
can lease them to professionals or we can just enjoy our time
together, since they don't seem to be missing anything
SkyeDS: and I am trying to find things to keep them challenged
SkyeDS: Bridget was very surprised to see how easily sineater and I
picked up one particular pass in ballet du cheval, where we trot up
to each other, slow to a walk as we line up right shoulders, catch
hands and hold hands with t he horses nose to tail, through a full
circle and then release and trot off
SkyeDS: I call it "yin and yang" LOL
SkyeDS: truthfully it wasn't that hard considering that we are
accustomed to riding through the park holding hands
    evile: neat.
SkyeDS: and I don't know where this "mares aren't strong enough to do
airs above the ground with riders" shit comes from
SkyeDS: as I have seen Jesse levade with sineater on more than one
    occasion
SkyeDS: he should apply for a pilot license, as his horse likes to
    fly over fences
    evile: ouch!
    SkyeDS: "look! look! I'm SuperHorse!"
SkyeDS: in hunter jumper terms, s he and Mirage are "pony" class and
would never compete above a 3'6" fence
SkyeDS: which both of them could clear in their sleep
SkyeDS: Jesse could do 6' oxers, I have no doubt, but they wouldn't
let her in competition because of her size
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: didn't sineater tell you about his first attempts to install
    brakes on Jesse?
SkyeDS: about eventually flying over a 5' five strand barbwire fence?
    evile: don't think so...
    SkyeDS: you're kidding
SkyeDS: ok, well, originally I was riding her
SkyeDS: because the owner said she didn't like men
SkyeDS: and I needed to see something from the ground, and can't be
on ground and in saddle at same t ime
SkyeDS: so after much discussion about sleeping arrangements and the
couch, sineater agreed to get in t he saddle
SkyeDS: and while he was out galloping her around, she Chose him
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: told Mirage, this one is mine, and Mirage, w ho never liked
me riding the Other Woman in the first place, agreed
SkyeDS: neither of them so much as asked us, kiss my foot
SkyeDS: so I said, look, your horse doesn't have brakes, and we need
    to fix that
SkyeDS: "but she does have brakes, she stops when you tell her to"
SkyeDS: well, ya know, that doesn't help you when you're the one
    riding her
SkyeDS: so he says, (mr never been on a horse before he married me),
    I can install brakes
SkyeDS: and he rides her at a full gallop towards a barbwire fence
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: she puts one foot down, pirhouettes 90 degrees and continues
at full gallop not missing a blessed beat, down the length of the
    fence
SkyeDS: he comes back and says, I meant to do that
    SkyeDS: oh really?
SkyeDS: yes, I was practicing reining
SkyeDS: how bout we practice braking?
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: so, as you say about insanity
SkyeDS: he does it again, and she pirhouettes 180 degrees and goes
back the way she came, not missing a blessed beat
SkyeDS: to give him credit, he's still in the saddle
    evile: wow!
SkyeDS: so much for mares not being able to do mounted airs above
    the ground
SkyeDS: (the lippizaners are coming in april btw)
SkyeDS: and the third time, she went sailing clear over the fence,
five strands, five feet tall, nothing but air
SkyeDS: and when she landed, he was still in the saddle
SkyeDS: with t he saddlehorn where God never intended the saddlehorn
    to go
evile: I think it's April 16, y'alls trail ride, and I was thinking
    of being at 4 Winds
SkyeDS: Mirage and I looked over the fence, pointed, and laughed. I
asked him, let me guess, you meant to do that too? and, would you
like me to get some pliers out of teh truck and pull those out of
your throat and put t hem back where they belong for you?
SkyeDS: and he squeaked out that he was just fine thank you (although
he sang soprano for a week)
    evile: ouch.
SkyeDS: the horse doesn't give a damn what kind of saddle you
    ride/jump in. But you might.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: anywho, I can't teach him to jump because I don't know how.
Tracie knows how but she's scared of it. And we don't have the money
nor time to invest in finding someone else who would teach him.
SkyeDS: although come to think on it, Laura might know.
    evile: wouldn't hurt to ask.
SkyeDS: she said that's why she learned English, because Indy was
    jumping regardless.
SkyeDS: he's an Arapaloosa (arab/app cross)
SkyeDS: and he is Something Else (tm)
    evile: *nod* gaited?
    SkyeDS: yes
SkyeDS: and gait is rare in appies
SkyeDS: 20% morgan population gaited still, only 10% appies gaited
    still
evile: used to be part of the breed, but they worked more on color
than gait and now it's rare.
    SkyeDS: nodnodnod
SkyeDS: but he does the indian shuffle (single foot rack) and it's
just as pretty as it can be
SkyeDS: I still haven't determined whether Jesse single foots, double
foots, and whether she diagonals, laterals or both
evile: *shrug* I don't know enough about it to even guess.
SkyeDS: he can sidepass at a full gallop
SkyeDS: this is mostly while you're trying to get him to gallop in a
straight line down the jousting list toward another horse
    evile: heh
SkyeDS: every time the barding comes out and she mounts with weapon
    in hand, he gets hyper
SkyeDS: neither Arabs nor Appies are an appropriate breed for just
    anybody
SkyeDS: neither will suffer fools gladly
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I had a friend in college who had an Appie and this cowboy
comes to ride him, adn she lets him mount with mexican pointed spurs
SkyeDS: I looked at her, and she said, it's his life
SkyeDS: I said, he must have come for flying lessons
SkyeDS: and bright boy digs both spurs, not into flanks, which would
have been bad enough, but into shoulders, which is worse
SkyeDS: and damn if that horse didn't have springs loaded into
hooves, because he was 16 feet up straight in the air, without
    having bent a single knee
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: rotates in the air, comes down on back, muzzle tucked between
front pasterns (ankles), right on top of the cowboy
SkyeDS: "I'm fifth or sixth generation cowboy, blah blah blah"
SkyeDS: yeah, well, I'm not, and even I know better than to do what
    you just did
    evile: ouch.
SkyeDS: a great number of them get up in the morning, and the first
thought is, who am I going to kill today, and teh second thought is,
how am I g oing to kill them. Tree, or Barn?
    evile: there ya go.
evile: the way some of these cowboys treat their animals, I'm pretty
sure they deserve mounts with that attitude.
SkyeDS: there's this like 12x14 foot aluminum box stall at LInda's
    place
SkyeDS: and very rarely can you put two horses together in a stall,
unless one's a pony put in to calm a TB
SkyeDS: but Mirage and Jesse used to spend the night in it together
    without a fuss
SkyeDS: this man comes to board his stud colt there
    evile: *nod*
    SkyeDS: (mistake number one)
    evile: yeah...
SkyeDS: and he puts up a run with wood
SkyeDS: and that poor stud colt, who never gets turned out, and can
see the herd flowing around him, has demolished, I mean no two parts
left standing together, that box stall
SkyeDS: and cribs wood, which will give him colic and kill him
SkyeDS: and I was looking at the run, and he's got the bottom rungs
situated just right for the colt to put his legs through the bottom
and get them good and broken
    evile: jeez.
    SkyeDS: thankfully he's leaving soon
SkyeDS: none of us can stand to watch
    evile: I can't even imagine...
SkyeDS: I can't believe they even agreed to board him, with no pipe
    rail to keep him in
    evile: that's really too bad...
SkyeDS: nice big pipe rail paddock or small pasture, and everybody's
    happy, including the stud colt
evile: seems like some people have no business owning horses.
SkyeDS: what are you going to do
SkyeDS: anyone can drive an incendiary device like a vehicle
    SkyeDS: with a license
SkyeDS: but it doesn't require a license to make babies, own most
    domestic animals, or land
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: and if there were licensure, who would be in charge and what
    regulations?
SkyeDS: and no one's going to make either you or me benevolent tyrant
    any time soon.
evile: I just wish people themselves would take the time and
responsibility to learn FIRST and then actually purchase the animal.
evile: that's what I did, and learned enough to know that I wouldn't
do a good enough job at it
evile: sadly, the fact that I gave enough of a shit to educate myself
puts me above half the parents /horse owners out there.
SkyeDS: as was pointed out to me, if I don't want to bring a child
into this world, then the children of the stupid people will
    eventually take over
SkyeDS: yeah, well, plenty of my peers were obviously children of
stupid people, and they outnumber me, and I'm not able to do much
    about it
SkyeDS: so I should breed why?
evile: they're going to take over anyway, why bring a delicate
sensitive intelligent child into the world to be tortured by
    its 'peers'?
SkyeDS: wish I were a fly on t he wall when Laura's grandson Addy
    goes to kindergarten
    evile: eeps.
SkyeDS: that's going to be all kinds of entertaining
    evile: i guess...poor kiddo.
SkyeDS: if I were a parent, I'd be eating ramen for the rest of my
life, but mine w ould be home/private schooled
evile: reason 1,432,000 why I never want kids :P
evile: My friends' kids all seem to do OK, but it's still a lot of
work and effort that I'm too selfish to want to do.
SkyeDS: aunt is good, I like aunt
    evile: yup :)
evile: I am giving thewordnerd a wine lesson. I didn't realize I knew as
much as I do. How did I get to know all this stuff? It's so bizarre.
evile: I guess I've absorbed more from J-law than I realize.
evile: well, it's 4. Time for me to get gone. Have a good evening.
    evile: *hugs*
