Sep. 28, 2004

say yes
around the world
seven tears
godzilla
standing there
dear prudence
killing time
shooting sun
kiss them for me
christine
happy house
another planet
2nd floor
take mine
not forgotten
pinned down
prettiest thing
face to face
right now
cities in dust

evile: hey :)
SkyeDS: my stuff came from Egypt
evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: the abaya fits, which somewhat surprises me, the salwar pants
fit, which amazes me to no end, and the tack is superlative, I
couldn't be happier
SkyeDS: I'm rewrapping the bottles now, I think I'll sell them at HK
evile: awesome!
SkyeDS: the taylor paper came out to the taylor fighter practice last
night and took pictures
SkyeDS: told them I'd let them know if the garb came before printing
and they could take more pics
SkyeDS: got to email them
evile: that's way cool
SkyeDS: life is good :D
evile: *nod* yup.
evile: I wish it was Friday already, though.
SkyeDS: that's a constant given here.
evile: heh. I saw Ladydreamtime's post about Wednesday's poly dinner being
Scrith's Bday. Now I am reconsidering whether to go.
SkyeDS: don't know them.
evile: You've probably met them, just haven't put names & faces
together yet.
SkyeDS: probably
evile: Ladydreamtime is ladydreamtime on LJ and scrith is scrith, if that helps.
I was rather floored by Erinlefey's declaration that she thinks of people
by their LJ names rather than their real ones most of the time....
SkyeDS: doesn't surprise me. is true in HFS, SCA, pagan circles, why
not LJ
SkyeDS: people don't think of me in terms of my character name in
HFS / SCA because Skye sounds so much like a character name.
evile: Well, at least in LJ most people just have one LJ name per
person. Instead of HFS where someone is Joe aka fumar the great aka
Monk Hieronymous aka poopiedoodiehead aka Sir Gorm, and so on and so
forth.
SkyeDS: ROFL mfiao!
SkyeDS: too true, too true LOLOL
evile: I know. That's why I don't know anyone in HFS, or don't feel
like I do, anyway.
evile: SCA people have to work too hard to create a persona, so they
dont' do that so much. and Pagans, you can yell out something along
the lines of 'hey, raven' and half the room will answer.
SkyeDS: ROFL
SkyeDS: I have decided, I just don't like most women.
evile: ok
SkyeDS: too vicious and dishonest in their interpersonal politics.
evile: change that to "people," and I'll go ahead and agree with you.
SkyeDS: I like blunt honest to your face women (not IN your face,
that's different)
SkyeDS: ok, people :)
SkyeDS: although lately, at least in the SCA and in the HFS, it tends
to be mostly the women.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I'm getting tired of being approached by person C, who tells
me that unnamed person B has a problem with the horses and/or the
bird, but didn't want to tell me, person A, because they were afraid
of starting a fight
evile: Well, if person C was in some position of authority and person
B was not, it might make sense for B to go to C....?
SkyeDS: nope
SkyeDS: if person B has gone to person in authority I have yet to
hear about it.
SkyeDS: that's why in Drandmir I decided to just ignore, if it didn't
come from Authority.
SkyeDS: guess I'll have to start doing that in the Shire too.
evile: I would say either go to someone in charge, or go to someone
in the Kumpania. Any other action is just drama-stirring.
SkyeDS: it does hurt, that someone wouldn't come to me because
they're "afraid"
evile: *shrug* You are a strong personality, whehter you like it or
not.
SkyeDS: and in this instance, I would put forth an educated guess
SkyeDS: there are at least two women who are heavily influenced by
Karen Randy's wife who is a bitch and will tell you so
SkyeDS: they heard her bitch about how difficult I am for four or
five hours one day, completely undeservedly
SkyeDS: she later apologized privately
evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: but that does nothing to remedy the damage done with those
she ranted to
SkyeDS: see?
SkyeDS: so now my reputation is even further shot
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: no matter what I do
SkyeDS: it doesn't seem to matter that what they see of me publicly
doesn't match what is said about me privately
SkyeDS: and you know what, someone I have always considered one of
the underbitches of the equestrians was perfectly lovely this last
weekend
SkyeDS: wasn't violent with her horse not once in our presence
evile: I don't know what to tell ya... live your life by your own
ideas of right and wrong, do right by god/ess, and the opinions of
fools and cowards don't count...
SkyeDS: was nice to be around
SkyeDS: and sineater and I both commented on that
evile: Good.
SkyeDS: we decided that she is a follower and largely shaped by
whomever she's following at the time, and the Uber Bitches she
usually follows weren't there
SkyeDS: so on her own, she's good to be around
SkyeDS: although she did apparently scare some people away from
Equestrian - they came to us instead. I wasn't there, I don't know
what happened with that.
evile: hm.
SkyeDS: my point being
SkyeDS: I am capable of judging for myself
SkyeDS: I'm even capable of changing my opinion when it's warranted
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: oh well, I already knew there was an invisible line between
us and the rest of the shire because we're equestrians (why that
should be I don't know)
SkyeDS: I will hang with the men, avoid the women, respect the line
and blow it all off
evile: yeah. never feed the drama monster.
SkyeDS: I understand the love of Drama (as in actual histrionics on a
stage for an audience)
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I don't understand the need for drama (not on a stage for an
audience, ya know)
evile: *shrug*
evile: I guess people get bored, need to feel important...whatever.
evile: life is crappy enough without making misery for other people.
SkyeDS: I added Jose to my friends list. He is so funny.
evile: *nod*
evile: He's a smart kid, too.
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: McD's has caramel apple treats now (apples and caramel for
dipping)
evile: Sunshine told me Jose is afraid of me.
SkyeDS: good for horses and bird both
evile: I don't go to McDs too often, thanks for the info.
SkyeDS: I would wonder afraid how
SkyeDS: I mean there's lots of different kinds of afraid
evile: afraid that I want him.
SkyeDS:
evile: duh, he's beautiful, who wouldn't....BUT, such a thing would
be a crime against God and Nature (not to mention my own personal
committments)...
SkyeDS: not to mention he's a good Baptist boy
SkyeDS: hehe, no way out of that that isn't unendurably awkward.
SkyeDS: "you're very pretty, but, thanks but no thanks" ~ um...no.
evile: *shrug* Thatll teach me to curb my altruistic tendencies.
SkyeDS: I don't have any :p~
evile: He posted in his LJ a couple months ago about starving, so I
sent him an HEB gift card. He then went running to Sunshine in a tizz
because apparently among his people, an HEB gift card is an
invitation to mate.
SkyeDS: ROFL
evile: I'm afraid my approach is a bit more heavy handed than that.
Back when I was on the prowl, that is.
SkyeDS: he doesn't think much of himself if he thinks an HEB gift
card is an offer of payment for services
SkyeDS: I mean, surely he would think his services should go for more
than that?
evile: I do things like bite you, sit on you, pull your hair, squash
you with my boobs...
evile: subtle is not one of my strong suits.
SkyeDS: too funny
evile: *shrug* He is aesthetically pleasing, but that's as far as it
goes.
evile: Now I guess I can't be nice to him at all, or he'll run
screaming.
evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: he has lots of drama surrounding him, he'll forget it
eventually, probably sooner than later
evile: hope so.
evile: I'm going to a free workshop at Omega at the Crossings
tonight. They offer a day pass for $20, so I'm going to check the
place out and see if it's worth it
SkyeDS: what is it?
evile: The workshop is something about unconditional love or some
crap.
evile: or, were you asking what is omega at the crossings? Yuppie
newage spa type place.
http://www.thecrossingsaustin.com/
SkyeDS: cool
evile: we'll see.
evile: the lady I'm carpooling with has been befor & she says it's
nice. But she's more into the yuppie newage thing than I am.
SkyeDS: I suppose I'm a newager...although most self professed
newagers drive me nuts.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I detest fluffy bunny, white light, crystal and tree hugging
evile: I detest ignorance.
evile: I have nothing against 'eclectics' who know what the hell
they're borrowing, but so many of them just don't.
SkyeDS: omfg
SkyeDS: I like Mists of Avalon
SkyeDS: but to read it, and then 21 lessons of Merlyn and declare
oneself a druid
evile: *nod* yup, stuff like that makes me crazy.
evile: If Omega's nice, you & I should make a girls day out of it
sometime :) swim, hottub, sauna, walk, laze around.
SkyeDS: oh yum
evile: sounds nice, anyway. We'll see. If they have snotty and/or
white light fluffy staff, forget it.
SkyeDS: so now I'v egot two different dates for Morconor Coronation
SkyeDS: this weekend and three weekends from now
SkyeDS: if it doesn't happen this weekend, this weekend is free
evile: hm.
SkyeDS: and there is an equestrian practice in Houston on Sunday
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if I could find someplace to stable the girls overnight, I
guess we could do TRF Saturday
SkyeDS: but isn't opening weekend nightmarish?
evile: I wouldn't know...I don't think I've ever been on opening
weekend.
SkyeDS: mm food
evile: heh. I had leftovers today.
evile: I don't know about faire itself, but I bet there'll be a great
party at the campground this weekend.
SkyeDS: I will ask the boys if they want to do faire and/or eq
practice
evile: sounds like a fun weekend :)
SkyeDS: no morconor this weekend, fer shure
evile: Oh, Ok then.
evile: I don't have anything Saturday daytime yet, but I do have
Saturday evening plans. Waco would have been an OK day trip.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: Oh well. I can clean, or shop, or whatever. I can always find
things to do.
SkyeDS: what's saturday night?
evile: Nolan's housewarming
evile: aww! cute! Gareth (macdobhran on LJ) posted his wedding
webpage.
http://www.macdobhran.org/gatherings/2002/mdrf/week6/P9280037.jpg
*sigh* He is so gorgeous.

SkyeDS: I saw a very gorgeous garbed man named Gareth in the Irish
Pub at Ft Hood
SkyeDS: not the same one I don't think
evile: Probably not the same one. 'my' Gareth is in MD or VA or
someplace up east
SkyeDS: nope
SkyeDS: this one was very tasty looking tho
evile: Lots of nice eye candy among faire folk.
SkyeDS: mmm
SkyeDS: so Elizabeta, who bought Morro, was at Elfsea Defender
SkyeDS: she's Ashia's friend (the stallion beater)
evile: Oh, cool.
SkyeDS: she was the one who was nasty about the boys winning their
first major tourney
SkyeDS: but I suspect that's because a nasty person put her up to it
evile: Elizabeta? or Ashia?
SkyeDS: Elizabeta
SkyeDS: like Ashia, she's perfectly nice to be around when she isn't
around certain other peopel
SkyeDS: people
evile: Oh. Well. That kinda sucks.
SkyeDS: I am a follower too
SkyeDS: but I don't tend to take on as much of the characteristics of
whomever I'm following
evile: I think it's a natural human thing, to try to find things in
common and 'mirror' one another's behavior in order to create a group
identity.
evile: xenophobia is also a natural human thing, from when we were
tribal and different things could kill you.
SkyeDS: I don't even do a good job of emulating the behaviors I
really try hard to emulate in those I highly respect
evile: And being snarky is entertaining, unfortunately. You can get
an entire rooms' attention by saying something really nasty about
someone else.
evile: back to the monkeys--you are uniting them with you against
someone else. It's very very easy to do, unfortunately.
SkyeDS: well, it's easy enough to figure out to be nice when they're
nice, and avoid them when they're around less than pleasant influences
evile: I've been made aware of this negative aspect of 'leadership
quality', and I'm trying to be better abou tit.
SkyeDS: no point in wishing them different, apparently is the way
they're made
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I have no clue why occasionally I have groups of people
following me around, to dinner, or wherever
evile: these things happen.
SkyeDS: tis your time, HUGS, wind to your wings, bella
evile: *hugs* see ya tomorrow. I'll tell ya all about the
crossings :)
SkyeDS: that would be cool!
