evile: Did everyone survive the relatives visit? :)
SkyeDS: there was some upset on Saturday but Sunday went well so all
    is good
    evile: I'm glad!
SkyeDS: my summer wardrobe has been refurbished, part of my land has
been burned, I have a new airbed that airs itself up, and residential
    dumpster service, for my birthday.
SkyeDS: and I discovered that my gramma is a pyro.
    evile: excellent :)
    evile: heh. Go gramma!
SkyeDS: she's creating several foot walls of flame while Daddy's
saying, this stuff isn't going to burn.
    evile: *laff*
SkyeDS: Mirage and I, our job was to just watch, to make sure nothing
escaped the firebreaks and that the fire went completely out (and
    laugh at everyone else)
    evile: cool
evile: I had a dream about Mirage last night. She was a 'healer
horse' that they'd put in with sick/sad horses and she'd make them
    better. It was interesting.
    SkyeDS: neat, and apt :)
evile: I thought it was cool.
SkyeDS: horses don't like being alone so having companions solves a
    lot of problems.
    evile: I'm sure :)
SkyeDS: When we take Jesse out, MIrage just shrugs and says, more
grass for me, and wanders away.
SkyeDS: Jesse gets a little antsy now and again, but not bigtime
    evile: That's good.
SkyeDS: but when we take Mirage out and leave Jesse, Mirage is fine,
but Jesse will gallop around calling Mirage the entire time we're out.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: even apparently when Jesse can see Mirage in the distance and
    is still in "talking" distance.
    evile: how funny :)
SkyeDS: one of these days I ought to take Mirage into town or
somewhere else where Jesse sees her get into the trailer and go, see
    what happens.
    evile: yup
    SkyeDS: how was your weekend?
evile: pretty quiet. I got unpacked & organized my closet. Went to
the bellydance & fire show Saturday night at Natural Magic. The
bellydancing was...OK, but the fire was way cool. Catsitting for L&B.
    That's about it.
SkyeDS: M would have enjoyed the fire show, oh well.
evile: They do it once a month, next show, maybe?
SkyeDS: Kelly asked if she could borrow him on Monday during the day
to help Michael connect breakdancing to karate (since M does both)
SkyeDS: so I had an idea
evile: I didn't know anyone still did breakdancing.
SkyeDS: his parents are harping on this job business, and going back
and forth between 1) we want you to work 10 hours a week at 7 per
(which they think is minimum wage) and 2) we don't care if it's a
    volunteer internship
SkyeDS: they call it "trance" now.
    evile: oh, okay then...
SkyeDS: so, I will write him a reference letter regarding the work he
does for me in keeping the house and helping out on the ranch
SkyeDS: and Kelly can write him one regarding babysitting and
    tutoring Michael
    evile: awesome :)
SkyeDS: he could use them any time he needed references
SkyeDS: and maybe it would shut his parentals up about he never does
    anything
    evile: that's a great idea.
SkyeDS: technically that would count towards the "we don't care if
    it's volunteer work/internship"
SkyeDS: and the other business, well, that's not even worth a response
    evile: true
SkyeDS: people don't usually hire 10 hours a week, they hire 20
SkyeDS: min wage is not 7 and he isn't worth 7 truthfully
evile: Hopefully his parents will pull their heads out soon...
SkyeDS: I told him pretty much word for word what you said because
there wasn't any better way to say it
    evile: eeps...
SkyeDS: regarding what he should expect and should not and how to go
    about getting it
SkyeDS: and he logically knows this is true
SkyeDS: but I don't think he's ever going to stop wanting or hurting
over not getting, the intangibles he knows ain't never gonna happen
evile: Nope. My dad hasn't approved of me from teh day I was born
female, and I know it's never gonna change...but it still hurts. And
I'm 34 goddamned years old and havent' lived with him since I was 4.
    SkyeDS: yep
    SkyeDS: I told him look
SkyeDS: from now on, you expect the following things from them
SkyeDS: food clothing shelter and education
SkyeDS: don't bother wanting or caring about anything else
evile: You can't make yourself not feel...as much as you might want
to stop feeling certain things. *shrug* But there is a small bit of
peace in deciding what you're going to do, and not trying to get
    impossible things anymore.
SkyeDS: and when they make it clear that they are not going to
provide food clothing shelter and education on acceptable terms, you
    will get those elsewhere
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: and then you will have no need of them at all, and you may
    tell them so
evile: I wish their counseling was making them less toxic, but it
does not appear to be helping. Then again, wer'e talking 20-odd years
worth of behavior that isn't going to change overnight....
SkyeDS: I also told him when Jonathan leaves, not to bother
    continuing with a new C.
SkyeDS: Jonathan accomplished perhaps as much with them as he could
SkyeDS: no other progress is being made
    evile: that's too bad.
SkyeDS: they need to continue with counseling, and they ought to
SkyeDS: but it's not helping sonar0m any
SkyeDS: Jonathan taught him all the coping skills and rules of
engagement there are to be learned
evile: I think they were expecting it to change him, and not
expecting to have to w ork on themselves.
    SkyeDS: zactly so
    evile: It's too bad.
SkyeDS: no reason for him to waste more time.
SkyeDS: he's got the tools he needs to handle his part now, he just
    needs to practice using them
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: no reason to subject him to more of his parents slightly more
    controlled bitch sessions.
    evile: right.
SkyeDS: actually I think M has found himself a good niche in the
babysitting/tutoring business that he might ought to consider more
    permanently.
    evile: It is a talent.
SkyeDS: he's good, particularly with kids that are interesting
combinations of highly intelligent and "special needs"
evile: with all the environmental factors/'indigo children'/ritalin,
etc. there ought to be a pretty serious niche for dealing with
special needs kids in the near future.
SkyeDS: a good number of highly intelligent children are special
needs apparently, also ADD or ADHD or any other number of such like
things that go hand in hand with being very bright
evile: (and shitty parents who never should have opened their legs,
    IMNSHO)
    SkyeDS: lol that to
    SkyeDS: err too
evile: I really don't hate kids anymore. I hate their cockadoodie
selfish childish parents who can't be bothered to put off gratifying
themselves long enough to PARENT their offspring....urgh. sorry, no
    more ranting.
    SkyeDS: lol
SkyeDS: way I look at it is this
SkyeDS: ther eare children I love being around
SkyeDS: and there are children I can't take for long if at all
SkyeDS: and if I look for the reasons behind both, it boils down to
    the parenting.
evile: A friend told me about an experience in the store where the
child was asking to go to the bathroom and the mom iddn't want to
stop shopping,so the kid ended up peeing herself. :( I would have
    *slapped* that mom!
SkyeDS: how mortifying for that child :(
evile: I know...disgusting. And I see lesser examples of such
selfishness all the time. Parents too busy doing whatever to respond
    to their kids.
SkyeDS: least I know I don't have any business having kids.
evile: To me that is a far more child-loving choice than bringing one
into the world without thinking first...
evile: I have no idea what kind of educational path one would follow
to back-up the natural ability to deal with adhd kids & stuff...but
    I'm sure there is one.
SkyeDS: I think I am unnatural
SkyeDS: I am 34 or nearly so, and still no desire to go through
    childbirth
SkyeDS: I have a feeling at this rate, when I desire to raise a
child, I would be just as happy adopting someone else's
evile: Nothing wrong with that...I don't think anyway.
SkyeDS: sineater wants one that's his tho
evile: The nice thing about poly is that you don't have to be the
    mommy...
evile: (a la the Knighthorse, Galen, Kili, Kulilinei, Belinanne, Tavalon extended
    poly fam thingy)
SkyeDS: I wish, but he wants to have a baby, with me.
evile: tell that to your uterus...it doesn't seem to want to
cooperate. Why put yourself through that misery, with such bad odds
of success? (that was my thought with my own strugglesw/
    endometriosis,e tc, anyway)
    SkyeDS: there is that.
SkyeDS: when we first married, we agreed we didn't want them right
then, and that when we changed our minds, we did
SkyeDS: thing is now he has changed his mind and mine hasn't changed
    yet
    evile: yup...
SkyeDS: I figured by now I would have started wanting to reproduce
evile: No sense in forcing it if you don't feel the maternal urge.
Shit like that is what makes the Andrea Yateses of the world...
SkyeDS: so much to do (and worry about) and so little time - sigh.
    evile: yup. always.
SkyeDS: I'm trying to find out feast information and I"m not seeing
any. Maybe they aren't having feast, huh.
    evile: for this upcoming weekend?
    SkyeDS: nod
evile: There's a VW campout that I think we're going on. No details I
    can find as of yet.
evile: I think he said something about "Indian Springs"...but I have
    no idea, really.
SkyeDS: no idea where that is
    evile: me, neither.
evile: Kountze TX, near Houston somewhere.
evile: Looks like it starts Friday, but I don't know when Sweetie is
actually planning on heading that way. Oh well.
evile: J-Law sent us a b-day care package that had some pesto to die
for, and now I want to plant basil & make my own.
    SkyeDS: cheap hotels in Canton
SkyeDS: all of them allow pets
    SkyeDS: life is good
    evile: cool.
evile: The _truly awesome- place we stayed in Lolo Hot Springs
    allowed pets. I was surprised
SkyeDS: life will be extra good when I have a full ton diesel dually
and a 4 horse trailer with Living Quarters.
evile: (still havent' uploaded pictures from MT yet---my computer
does not have enough memory to save any more. :(
evile: Yahoo photo album lost my cruise photos and didn't lose Gary &
Mary K's wedding photos...of which marriage is long defunct. Why I do
not trust my photos to ONLY a web-based photo hosting service!
    SkyeDS: figures
    evile: no s*it, right :P
SkyeDS: gas prices do not make attending events easier.
evile: no, indeed. Found a good price in G'town Saturday. $1.89 for
    the cheap stuff.
    SkyeDS: yep
    SkyeDS: I use gasbuddy.com
    evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: think I fueled up on Friday for 1.82
    SkyeDS: on Duval and 43rd
evile: sad to think that's the 'cheap' price. man....
SkyeDS: I check every day before I go home
    evile: good plan :)
evile: I applied for a job at parks & wildlife, if I get it Sweetie & I
can carpool since his office at AMD is close.
SkyeDS: I would like to work there.
SkyeDS: so he's at AMD now? off 183?
evile: wayy down south off 183. Very close to Smith School rd.
evile: the position is admin, and it's a lateral as far as pay grade,
but hopefully better working conditions & more interesting work.
SkyeDS: have you given any thought to seeing "Troy"?
evile: Yeah, I want to. Just dont' know when yet.
evile: If I knew when Sweetie wanted to leave for the air coolers campout
I might try to schedule it Friday night, but I don't so I can't.
SkyeDS: I'm wanting to see Hidalgo, Secret Window, Van Helsing and I
    guess, Troy
evile: I have phone duty tomorrow, so I could catch an early-ish show
tomorrow. My friend Nikiyoy wants to go with...no idea how to schedule
    with her, she's a butterfly.
SkyeDS: noticed Goofy is taking a hiatus from Drandmir.
evile: Yeah. Sunshine says it's not political.
    SkyeDS: figured it was money/time
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: god. more PtA concerning CRW. he couldn't be more of an ass
if he did it on purpose.
    SkyeDS: was actively trying harder.
    evile: hfsinchaos boards?
    SkyeDS: yes
    SkyeDS: I don't know why I bother.
evile: I haven't read them in forever.
evile: If he's fussing about game rules, I could care less. that
seems to be where a lot of the hoo-ha comes in,and I really don't
know enough about the rules to care.
evile: Hm. I'm not finding the butt-holeyness. Oh well.
evile: Oh, nevermind. Found it. what. Ever.

SkyeDS: and then the latest post about the castles that was then
edited out completely and locked. At the risk of being redundant.
    What. Ever.
evile: "I don't want to cause drama, but *dump* DRAMA!"
SkyeDS: Patrick behaves as if his wheaties have permanent piss in
    them.
evile: I dont' see why people continue to play in his sandbox.
SkyeDS: his site is useful, I use it. I don't play with him at all.
But I have that luxury, because his circle and my circle do not
    intersect at any point
    evile: true
SkyeDS: for all I've done wrong in this life and others
SkyeDS: I must have done something right somewhere
SkyeDS: because the powers that be saw fit to give me stewardship of
    Ragi (and Jesse and Arthur)
evile: heh. yup. Or maybe they figured you'd need all the help you
could get against the rest of the planets stupid inhabitants...
evile: bizarre/interesting thing I just remembered: X told me when
she was 17 or so that she dreamt her cat George was the reincarnated
spirit of a beautiful black woman, who told her she was on Earth to
    teach X unconditional love.
evile: When X and her husband first started dating, Georgie peed on
M's pillow the first night he spent the night at X's house...:P
    SkyeDS: ROFL
SkyeDS: that is too fucking funny!!!!
    evile: Hindsight=20/20, no?
SkyeDS: Randy (the ex) didn't like my horses
SkyeDS: didn't like my swimming, skating waterskiing or anything else
    dangerous
SkyeDS: but objecting to my horses should have told me something
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: at the time I thought he was just weirded out because Kissy
came galloping up toward me looking for all the world like she
intended to mow me over (she didn't).
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: at the time he said, that horse acts like she's half wild.
And I said, in genuine surprise, I thought I told you, she is half
    wild.
    evile: *laff*
SkyeDS: I am too easily amused. the high point of my work day is
usually the dessert sineater always thinks to pack for me - usually four
chocolate mint or chocolate peanut butter cookies
SkyeDS: in addition to an oatmeal creampie today gifted to me by
    gramma
SkyeDS: none of which I should be eating of course.
evile: *shrug* I got peppermint bark for my bday...i'd never had the
stuff before and now I'm addicted. It's half gone and it's only been 4
    days. :(
SkyeDS: = chocolate mint confection? never heard of it but sounds good
evile: It's pretty good. a layer of dark chocolate, then one of
white, and then peppermint pieces sprinkled over top.
    evile: addictive, actually...
    SkyeDS: I believe it
evile: Oh well. Krav Maga starts in 2 wks.
SkyeDS: you're still a better woman than me
    evile: nah.
SkyeDS: if I found a new addiction it wouldn't have lasted so much as
    four days.
evile: *laff* it's a BIG box of the stuff.
evile: And I found out it goes good with Bailey's and/or the
Chocolate Chip Cookie liqueur I got :P
    SkyeDS: yum
    evile: yup :P
evile: that was dessert last night, while we watched this super-
depressing movie J-Law sent us for our bday
evile: It was called "Malena" about life in Italy during
Mussolini/Hitler/end of WW2. Tough to watch.
evile: Monica Bellucci , however, is NOT hard to watch at all...what
    a babe.
evile: oops google image search is all Monica cheesecake. Nice, but
not good to see at work...
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: *remembering that google search for later* yum yum
evile: So how are your b-day weekend plans turning out? Still going
    to Lake S?
    SkyeDS: hope so
SkyeDS: got a $200 refund on prop taxes to pay for md weekend with
evile: I haven't seen your general announcement anywhere, but I don't
    read HFSinchaos or HFSCR anymore.
    SkyeDS: I haven't announced it
SkyeDS: I'm still thinking on it
    evile: aha. OK
    SkyeDS: I'm pondering evites
SkyeDS: or just sending individual emails
evile: Evite is cool, I like it.
    SkyeDS: I thought so.
evile: And you can always post the link on selected yahoogroups/etc.
& let people RSVP, which I have done successfully for both
    Decemberweens.
evile: I can tell you that many of the Polys are camping for Mem. day
weekend at the little mini-burningman, so might not be up for it 2
    weekends in a row...
evile: evite also has a new(ish) feature where you can list things
you would like people to bring & people sign up for them. Keeps
things organized as far as who's bringing what
    SkyeDS: cool
evile: It worked out well for last Decemberween--I needed a couple
    extra crockpots & such.
SkyeDS: I have three or four diff sized ones now
SkyeDS: peeps keep givin em to me
SkyeDS: and I don't think you can have too many
evile: They really are great for parties.
evile: If I didn't still have car crap hanging over my head, I would
want to throw a big summer solstice party....*sigh*
    SkyeDS: that would be awesome
SkyeDS: what about a little solstice something
evile: run with the big dogs or stay on the porch...that's my party
philosophy. if I can't do it my way I dont' wanna do it...
evile: Sweetie gets so pissed at me because I get
screwed/overcharged/whatever and I dont' fight it. Well, I fought B
of A, and here I am, owing them the same amount, PLUS having spent
godknows how long on the phone, faxing, mailing, arguing, fussing,
and whatever. Totally not worth my stress to fight unwinnable
    fights...
SkyeDS: I got into a contract dispute this morning before I ever left
    the house lol
    evile: urgh. Such a hassle.
evile: I have spent wayy more than the $ amount I was disputing now
    in time & stress.
SkyeDS: this was over a K I didn't want to sign
evile: For Sweetie, its an either /or. Either pay up and shut up OR fight
    and fuss.
    SkyeDS: so some difference
    evile: K?
evile: I prefer to pay, but retain bitching rights over it for a
while. Bitch, pay, get over it, move on.
SkyeDS: K = contract, sorry, slang
    evile: aha. I see.
SkyeDS: mom wanted to get me trash service for my birthday
SkyeDS: so we called this one company
SkyeDS: they told her one thing over the phone
SkyeDS: and then faxed this totally bullshit contract over
SkyeDS: so I called the competition
SkyeDS: made a deal with them, no hassle
    evile: good for you.
SkyeDS: and called the first one back and told them they were full of
    bs
SkyeDS: and not to run my mom's credit card
SkyeDS: I tried to tell her not to give them the card until I
    reviewed the K <sigh>
    evile: oh well...
evile: hopefully they'll be decent about it...
    SkyeDS: they'd better be :)
evile: As long as you keep your mom posted so she can watch her
charges it should work out OK & she won't get screwed...
SkyeDS: if she watches out for it
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: she would have just signed it anyway if I hadn't said thanks,
but these terms are not acceptable to me
    evile: yup.
evile: I hate it when they'll tell you one thing verbally & then the
paper says something completely different. Like you're going to be
    too dumb to notice??
SkyeDS: I get particularly insulted by that
evile: yet another reason I really dislike salespeople.
evile: One good thing that came of working for Johnson Controls &
    IEC==get everything in writing.
evile: (learned it from being on the other side, mostly. Our sales
people would promise people outrageous stuff at 3 martini lunches and
we'd have to deal with the repercussions when it came time to service
    the contract)
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: "I'm sorry, I don't care what asshole reptile told you, Freon
costs ___ and we aren't giving it to you for free"
    evile: hate salespeople. hate em.
evile: well, it's about time for me to make the rounds...today wasn't
too bad. Hopefully the whole week will go quickly.
    SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: wind to your wings darlin :)
    evile: *hugs* take care :)
