526 Email from Eric!

  • May 20, 2002

    well a brief report...
fri, call joe, he wants to meet sat am. since it is a way early
meeting, i say ok, but need to be home at 9; leave msg for alex. get
home 11pm, start pulling all the shit i can find and photographing
the large ones. hear from alex, trying to work out when/how to meet,
when duh, come down sat early am. also while this is going on,
finding all the paperwork we will need, A. has swung a fha loan
for a double wide on 3-5 acres. so sat, meet alex at the studio,
introduce him to the dioskilos crew, he will work on the movie to
build up a portfolio since so much of his stuff is gone lost or
trashed. had a great talk with joe and i am in, he will call when the
space is ready, about 2-3 weeks. i am sure that when joe sees what
alex can do he will want him. sandra says he was a great help on sat
w/ makeup and set dressing. even if joe falls through he will
probably get other gigs here. sat, i ok the house, palm harbor,
several notches above our current home and roughly twice the size,
will be permanently sited. the ph people gave us many listings for
sites in the area, we are looking in hutto, rr, pflugerland, etc etc.
may not qualify now, but may in a few more months if we don't. oh
yeah, moved the girls sunday. we came out to the ranch to get them
and go up to rr for a ride, and the gates were padlocked. i very
calmly leapt the gates, invited the foreman to come open them, we got
the girls, had a wonderful ride, and put them in brushy creek, in rr.
jim's paranoia has overridden his business sense and everyone is
moving out this week. fsuk him.
so no sleep and my entire life has changed within 36 hours. :)

    My reply:

Sounds like y'all have been busy in a good way. I'm glad Alex had a
good time out there; I hope he can get some work doing what he likes
doing. Makes all the difference in the world when you love what you
do AND it makes you $$. :)

Glad you got a new place for the horses; it's important to make sure
they're in a good safe place. Hopefully you can find property up near
them, so it won't be such a long haul to go out there? I'll keep my
    fingers crossed.

I haven't heard the best things about Palm Harbor, but that was a few
years ago, so maybe they have cleaned up their act since then.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Any hints on what A might want/need for her b-day?

and here's what I wrote to Jen, after forwarding eric's email to her:

Wow. Sounds like they're doing very well...not so thrilled that
they're moving into another mobile home, but, hey, whatever. Gives A
something to do besides hassle Eric. ("The girls", btw, are their
    two horses)

    Jen's reply:

Sounds like some definite improvements. And once Eric
gets used to being treated decently by others, earning
$$ and living the good life, he will dump A for a
    Nobel Laureate/Supermodel.

    :)

    528 my weekend (to Jen)

This morning it was 51.8 degrees when I took the dog for her walk.
Definite end-times weather, I tell ya. But rather pleasant,
      compared to normal :)

Had a great weekend. Took the kids to the free sneak preview
of "Spirit", went to Spamarama with Tom & Max, made dinner from
goodies we browsed at Central Market (steamed artichokes, bread, and
tomato/mozzarella/basil salad). Then Max got a call from his friend
Jason to go see the new Star Wars movie. Jason got tickets for all of
us, and we went to the 11:30 show. It was fun. I was a little tired
for Yoga on Sunday, but I went. Tom, Max, and I went to a different
dim sum place for Sunday brunch after that. It was good. Did
some "paralegal online" homework, took quiz #3 and got a 90 on it.
So, I feel like it was a pretty good weekend. Did lots o' fun
stuff, got some work done...it was all good.

The X files final episode was a total rip, BTW. It sucked big ones.
