EJ April 1 2002
Apr. 1st, 2002 09:21 am- Apr. 1, 2002I am tired today. I stayed up too late last night. Didin't get home
until after 9:30 or so, took a bath, and then Tom and I got Taco
Cabana for dinner. Got to bed around 11:30. Not good.
Anyway, Excalibur's over. I hate my neighbors, they were
really ...insinuating themselves into my existence. Mike got fake
champagne & we toasted, but I needed to pack up while it was still
light and I could see, so I tried not to hang withthem too long, then
they wanted me to booth with them at TRF....bleh. No way. I talked to
a vendor who was also at the San Antonio renfaire, and she and her
hubby didn't do well there at all, but they do well at Excalibur. She
says it will get better in years to come, both my personal sales AND
the faire itself. Still...it's not worth the booth fee AND having to
buy a new tent (plus where the hell will I store it!!?) so. I am
thinking NOT, but maybe I m just tired and burned out and I'll feel
differently about it in a month, when the 2003 contracts are due.
I heard Ruby Tuesday on the radio last nite, and it made me
sad. "Lose your dreams and you may lose your mind. Ain't life
unkind?"...sigh. yeah. Me too.
Anyhoo...I'm tired and there's not much to do here at work, but I'm
in my new cube and life is goodish.

Taurus
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
A love interest may be feeling rather antsy and restless, dear
Taurus, and might want you to go out and kick up your heels. Some
friends may join the two of you. You may be feeling somewhat weary
and not really in the mood, but you'll probably go anyway. Don't push
yourself too hard. The entire evening still lies ahead of you.
Explain to your partner that you want to make an early night of it.
Your friend SHOULD understand.
Gemini
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
You've managed to recoup your energies, dear Gemini, and today you'll
probably tackle your work with renewed vigor and get them out of the
way in time to leave the workplace early. You could well go out on
the town tonight, perhaps to a public event of some kind. The only
downside is that you may keep going long after your body's telling
you to slow down. Don't exhaust yourself. Have fun, but get some rest
tonight. You'll want to save some energy for tomorrow.
- Apr. 1, 2002Well, my totals for Excalibur are as follows:
Income: $669
Booth Fee: $300
Gas: $60
Food: $80
Profits: $229
Okay, at least there are profits. BUT...$229 for 80
hours work at the faire, not to mention the 12-20 hours I put in
during the week making stuff....comes to around $2.50 an hour. Not
worth it. There are hidden costs involved, too. Materials for new
stuff bought on credit card. I can use the
materials for future projects, but the interest on
the card will add up. So not worth it. *sigh* I did not take a loss,
and who knows, next year people may be looking for me & my stuff, the
weather might be better, bla bla, so I may do better. It just
doesn't seem worth it right now. It may look better
after I'm caught up on sleep & housework. But for
now I don't think I'll do it again.
I am going to get a money order and donate 10% of my Excalibur gross
to Vortex Theatre. Anonymously, because I don't want to get begging
letters later. But they are my tithe for this month, and I've done
pretty well at sending donations to somebody/something each month.
It may be a lean month, but it will be good anyway.- Apr. 1, 2002Not the best day to decide to start back to Low carb. 1)have not been
to the grocery store or balanced checkbook to determine how much I
can spend on groceries this month,. 2) Janice brought leftover Easter
candy. i've been taking a small bite and or/ chewing it for a second
and spitting it out. *sigh* stupid, but keeps me from feeling too
deprived.
