Last time I shared this memory, I was told I was ignorant white trash, so I am not inclined to share it again. Let me instead offer this bit of advice: if someone everpulls out a bright happy bit of their soul and wants to share it with you, don't piss on it. Even if it's something tacky or silly or cheezy. If you can't bring yourself to appreciate the cheeze, at least find it in your heart to enjoy someone else's happiness in sharing their grubby little treasure.

Someone who shits on you should be ignored to the extent that that's possible. I mean, if random douchebag shits on you, then just say "huh" and then do your best to pretend it never happened.

Of course, I say this still carrying around the random douchebag thing that happened to my sister (!!! not me!) where her experience was totally discounted on logic that missed a step, but the asshat, having dismissed it as impossible, wasn't going to listen to why it might actually, y'know, be possible.

Call me on it if I ever piss on your shiny, m'kay?

Thank you. I cannot imagine you ever doing that. You are one of the sweetest people I know. I love seeing you light up when someone shares their happiness with you. I cannot imagine a situation where you would be dismissive or scornful of a friend's shiny. That is just not you.
