Hold my breath and move upwind as fast as possible.
Or:
Reflect that smoking will kill my brother, wonder that someone with fully functional lungs and sinuses would give themselves asthma and stuffy heads for fun.
Or if they're griping about discrimination about smokers:
Think about the exemptions smokers get: Other than tobacco, there's nothing that you're allowed to light on fire on a sidewalk; they get specially designed fireproof trashcans with sand in them (which get ignored); the butts go from their mouths to the ground but they don't get the same scorn as litterers or spitters.
enh, they're just like any other group that has made a lifestyle choice and expects to be given special consideration because of that choice...
No, really, as much as you carry an underlying assumption that it's your RIGHT to do that, that it's a part of Who You Are, that was YOUR choice, and there is no need for Society at large to accomodate your choice, and we certainly don't OWE you special perks because of it.
Honestly, I wish I could buy group insurance with other healthy, single, childless, non smoking women. Our premiums would be so inexpensive!
