"My 70's action movie" meme, from

1. What's your favourite emoticon?
2. Do you use webspeak like lol, brb, etc. often when writing e-mails or instant messaging?
3. Have you ever accidentally used an emoticon or webspeak inappropriately? (Ie. In work correspondence, school papers etc.)
4. What sorts of typing habits annoy you the most?
5. Do you ever catch yourself using words or phrases out loud that are usually reserved for instant messaging or e-mails?
my answers:
1) ;> (that's an evil smile and wink)
2) yes.
3) No. but I saw on a resume the other day where a lady had put her phone numbers at the top of her resume and meant it to say "Home phone : (512)" and the windoze program she was using helpfully converted it to "Home phone [sadface] 512)" haha. I LOL'ed.
4) When people type *LOL* after every single thing they write. "Today my boss showed up for work late. *LOL* and then I remembered that I forgot my lunch. *LOL*" It makes me think of someone with a nervous tic, or someone crazy. In RL if anyone giggled after every sentence I'd think they were about to go on a 3 state killing spree.
(first runner up: typo shorthand--UR for "you're" or "you are" and 4 for "for" and 2 for "to" and the like)
5) I say "ohnoes" pretty often.
