1. What are your reasons for having a LJ?
I started because my ex had one and some of my friends did, as well. I got an 'invite code' from the ex and the rest, as they say, is history. NOW, I mostly try and use LJ as a 'what I'm doing, where I'm going, wanna go with?' kind of thing, interspersed with occasional whining and/or navel gazing. And quizzes. Good god, let's not forget the quizzes.
2. What do you do before bedtime?
Make sure my older cat is outside, take my pill & some calcium, undress, put in my mouth guard, and hop in bed. OH! and turn off lights, of course.
3. What will your dream wedding be like?
I've never really wanted to be married, to be honest. But I used to think taking the $ I'd spend on a wedding and instead throwing a party with all my friends and family and everyone I even vaguely know would be cool. (Geek social fallacy #4 FTW!)
4. What is the city of your dreams and why?
I have no idea. I'm not a huge fan of cities. I've enjoyed visiting San Francisco. I like San Antonio OK. I like Austin, but it's a big town more than a city. And I loved living in New Orleans, but wouldn't do so again.
5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
That's a toughie. I need 'me time/down time' very badly at times, and there are times that people just wear me out. Then at other times, I really *need* to be around folks. I think it's situational.
6. Which is better, loving someone or being loved by someone?
Ideally, BOTH, at the same time. But...I suppose if I had to choose one or the other, I'd rather be the one hopelessly loving someone than have someone hopelessly loving me. Less guilt that way.
7. Do you trust easily?
'fraid not.
8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Bad question. The answer is very situational, depending on the other person's relationship rules. Next!
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
My ovary. Being fat (just a little bit). Stuff going on with some of my family, when I think about it, so I mostly just try not to.
10. What is your best quality?
I'd say a lot of my qualities just are and they can be good or bad depending on the situation. Like, say, "stubbornness." I stick with people and things long after they've stopped being good for me. You can call that "loyalty" if you want. Sometimes I call it 'stupid.'
11. Is being tagged fun?
um...like with spray paint? um....no?
12. How do you see yourself?
I'm stubborn, sarcastic, sometimes mean, sometimes funny, fat and spotted.
13. Who are currently the most important people to you?
SO, family, friends.
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Oh, THAT kind of tagged. I didn't get tagged, I just stole it, so I dunno.
15. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
Are you kidding me?!?!??! Single and rich. Of course.
16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
None! (and I'm sterile, so yay, I get my wish!)
17. What's better, to give or to receive?
I like both. I'm more comfortable giving, but I've started to realize the value of graciously accepting nice things people want to give to me or do for me. Otherwise things just become unbalanced and unhealthy.
18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
Bad question. Why do I have to pick? Next!
19. What would you do if you (or your girlfriend) became pregnant unexpectedly?
That's not possible. but, assuming it did happen, after all precautions, I'd carry it to term and explore the pros and cons of adoption vs. parenthood...(and name it "10,000-to-one" or "Impossible")
20. What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite sex?
Mom says she wanted to name me "River" and my father wanted to name me "___, Junior" and they argued bitterly and at length about it. Whereas they both agreed on the name for a girl right away. It's possible and perhaps even likely that I heard the arguments in-utero and decided to just be a girl and save them the hassle...cuz I'm a peace-maker like that.
