I got a St. Alex and a St. Jude, and a St. Michael to give it some
oomph...I figured we needed a sword against the beasts.

The moon entered Scorpio last night, so I figure a waning new moon in
Scorpio would be perfect for helping my brothers free themselves from
    their bad choices.

I cried a little when I read the St. Jude prayer. *sigh*

Hey - how was Krav Maga with [Cousin B]?

My evening was ok. Stressy, for a bit, with getting
groceries (store is run by savants, for savants; I
was the only swiftly moving, fully functional person
in the place), doing chores, etc.

But, once I sacked out with dinner and a movie,
    things were okay.

Today is sucking, unfo. One of my bosses added
three new securities filings to my already massive
list, and gave me a ridiculously tight deadline.
This is on top of some other major projects that we
do every quarter. *sigh* Anyway. It is date
night; we have a 1994 Chateauneuf du Pape waiting
for us, and it will be good sweetie-time.

mmm! good wine & sweetie time :) What a great evening!

Tonight I'm seeing ROLLINS at la Zona Rosa! It should
be great. This is my first trip downtown since the
smoking ban, so that'll be interesting.

Krav Maga was fun. It whoooped my ass and [Cousin B] just
barely got sweaty, but it was still cool. [aunt L] has us
paid through March, if we go 2-3 times a week, I will
    be in FANTASTIC shape :)

[Cousin B] was a bit distracted before and after class; he
was making plans with a friend from school to get
together and smoke up. I am less than pleased about
that. I think rather than frame it in some kind of
moral disapproval, I'll just let him know that drugs,
like TV, are for people with no real life and just as
it's dull to hear someone rehash last evening's
"America Idol" if you don't watch the show and aren't
interested, it's also pretty boring to hang with
stoners. Of course, now that he has friends his own
age, the possibility of being seen as boring by me may
not hold any weight, but we'll see.

We are going to faire this weekend, that's a long
drive and I'm sure we'll be able to talk. I'm glad he
has friends and a social life, but not too thrilled
    that they're all little potheads.

OH! We finally got rid of our ratty couch and Sweetie sent
me a picture from overstock.com of what he'd like to
replace it with. Yay! furniture shopping!

    Today can't pass quickly enough.

I have HR researching a lateral transfer for me to
another department. I hope that works out. Even if it
doesn't, I'm going to make some time very soon to
upload my state app to the TWC website, do my UT app,
and see if there are any job search sites like hotjobs
or monster.com that *won't* send me multilevel
    marketing spam!

Hope is a good thing :)

Yeah, today can't pass quickly enough.

I can't believe you are seeing Rollins! That is tooooooooooo
cool!!!!!!!! The smoking thing is funny - I am so used to no smoking
in bars, clubs, restaurants, that it completely blows me away when I
go to a place where it's allowed. Suddenly, it seems like *everyone*
is chain smoking cigars or something. :)

I completely agree with you about the pot thing.

Congratulations on the couch - I *love* new furniture. :)

I need to get into a workout routine - I am feeling very stressed all
the time, and I need an outlet for it. Right now, my outlet is junk
    food, and that is bad.

Best of luck on your job search. Hope is a good thing, and I am sure
that the right thing will come along.

    Me to J-Law:

Yeah, I'm really psyched! My friend LadyDreamtime is driving, so I don't even
have to stress about parking downtown. Life is good :) She's seen him
before, and talked to him after the show and stuff, so that's cool.

This WEEK can't go by quickly enough. I am ready for the weekend!

Kahlua: Man did that sound wrong
    evile: *laugh* OMG, too funny!
Kahlua: Oh yeah, did ya get to kick your cousin's ass?
evile: sadly, no. This one was a 'core strength' class,so it was
    basically exercise...really mean exercise.
    Kahlua: Awww.
Kahlua: Oh well. :) Next time.
evile: Not to worry, I'm gonna beat him up tomorrow.
    Kahlua: Sweet
evile: I may beat him harder than strictly necessary. he's fallen in
with the stoner children at school.
Kahlua: Ah, yes, pummel him muchly
evile: yup. and rather than be all moral and prudey, I'm just going
to tell him that people who don't have anything better to do than
take (and talk about taking) drugs are BORING. Which is true,
    actually.
evile: I'm not sure I can make him understand the difference between
baking every day at/after school, and having special things on
special occasions...or is there one? I think there is...
    Kahlua: There sure is.
evile: OK. I hoped I wasn't just being a hypocrite.
    Kahlua: Nope.
evile: this 'cool cousin' gig is harder than it looks.
    Kahlua: Heheh
Kahlua: "Cool Dad" is a bitch, too.
evile: Lordy, and that ones just gonna get more and more so!
    Kahlua: No kidding. *sigh*
evile: You're doing fine. You'll do fine. *hugs* The fact that you
even worry about it says you are on the right track :)
    Kahlua: I sure hope so
    evile: yup. :)
evile: clicking around to too many windows! had to shut some down
    Kahlua: Heheh
Kahlua: I just installed a multiple-desktop program on my machine.
evile: busy little bee, aren't ya?
    Kahlua: Bzz bzz
evile: I'm just doing the minimum.
evile: I can not wait to get home and get a hot bath!
    Kahlua: Mmm, baaath
evile: I felt OK this morning, but sitting at my desk all day has
made my legs and back just feel stiff and owie
Kahlua: Yeah, the sitting gets to me too.
    Kahlua: Stupid oldness.
evile: stupid out of shape ness...for me, anyway.
Kahlua: Me too. I am NOT aerobically fit this year.
    evile: ...this decade..for me :P
evile: yay! meeting with HR tomorrow at 2 to see if I can lateral
    elsewhere.
Kahlua: And you said you didn't like football, here you are talking
    about a lateral. :)
    evile: what?
Kahlua: Heh heh, it's a sideways pass in football. Never mind, I'm a
    dork.
Kahlua: AAAAANWAY, now it's my turn to leave before you.
    Kahlua: *PTOING*
    evile: OK. *hugs*
    Kahlua: *HUG* See you anon!

==============================================
evile: happy hump day!
SkyeDS: hola chica, indeed :)
evile: I met with my boss this a.m. and she seemed pretty
understanding about things. I might get my own office soon.
SkyeDS: wow!
SkyeDS: this coming with a promotion? or how will s he explain it to
the cubicle cow-orkers
evile: We'll see. She said she had other ideas about the empty
office, but she'd think about it. I say if the other person hasn't
asked for it, the person who HAS should get it. But if the other
person is the ringleader of the shit stirrers, maybe best to put them
by themselves and gently guide them back to their spot whe they come
over to the cube farm to stir the pot
evile: Assuming there's only one and someone else won't crop up to
take her place.
evile: But I have a new workplace thesis that would make millions
for whoever researched and put it in scientific terms: the hen house
principle.
evile: I dumped thewordnerd pretty hard and rather childishly last
night...so I feel bad about that. I feel much better about the way I
handled e.'s latest demands on my time.
SkyeDS: that is a great model
SkyeDS: you could tell him, look, I was setting a boundary.
SkyeDS: I'm sorry I didn't do it as well as I could have
SkyeDS: but I'm not sorry I'm setting boundaries
SkyeDS: just so he's straight on what the apology is, and is not, for.
evile: that ship has sailed w/thewordnerd. I told him I didn't want to
always be the one giving him rides, and I didn't want to be stuck at
restaurants taking care of him, and that I would like him to chip in
for gas $ everyo now and then, and he said OK and never talked to me
again.
SkyeDS: maybe that's for the best
evile: I think so.
SkyeDS: got a call from Marshall and his mom ON labor day, wanting a
lesson that day
SkyeDS: I haven't heard from t hem since March
SkyeDS: and I have told them they have to give me at least 24 hours
notice
SkyeDS: so I flat out ignored them. I don't really care if I lose
the business.
evile: He was talking in LJ about a freind who had told him another
freind was talking shit about him, and I said 1) question the motives
of the friend who tattles to you about other friends and 2) approach
the person directly to see what the problem was. He fussed at me for
giving him advice when he didn't want any.

SkyeDS: if you post something to LJ and you don't want comments, then
say, I don't want comments, or disable them. Duh.
evile: attributed a bunch of motives and tone that weren't there, and
very rudely told me he wasn't going to talk about it anymore
SkyeDS: you can also set your LJ to screen comments
SkyeDS: so you have to approve them first
evile: So I said "fine. You haven't wanted to spend time with me
since I told you I wasn't going to be your guide dog anymore, so bye"
evile: I dont know how many LJ features are unfriendly or
unaccessible to blind folk, so I don't know about any of that. I re-
read it, and I didn't see the rudeness or the tone he was attributing
to me, so fuck 'im.
SkyeDS: no argument here.
evile: Nor did I see anything where he had said in his original
post "I dont want advice"
SkyeDS: LJ convention is when you don't want advice and/or comment
you say so.
SkyeDS: even I know that, and I'm dense.
evile: apparently his default is 'never give advice unless I
specifically ask'
SkyeDS: it is the responsibility of the individual to make such
defaults known, especially if they are counter-intuitive
evile: *shrug* whatever. He has a lot of good qualities and I do like
him, just not enough to be his dog.
SkyeDS: it would be nice to have enough boarders, students and
training to not have to be here 40 hours
evile: *nod* yeah it would
evile: oof. I can't wait to get home to a hot bath. My muscles have
really started to hurt after sitting all day.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: yeah, it's owie. But I'm glad I went to the krav maga studio
yesterday, and I'm going again tomorrow...owies or not.
SkyeDS: nods. good hurt.
evile: yup.
evile: I hope I can stick with it the full 6 months [aunt L] signed us up
for. If [Cousin B] does, I will.
SkyeDS: that was awful nice of her
evile: It really was. Controlling but nice :)
evile: yay! meeting with HR tomorrow at 2 to see if I can lateral
elsewhere.

SkyeDS: keep on rawkin, baby! :D
evile: Even if nothing comes of it, the fact that I stood up for
myself and did something makes me feel confident that I can keep on
moving if necessary
evile: well, it's about time for me to throw papers & scoot. Have a
good evening :)
SkyeDS: wind to your wings! :D
