    evile: hey :) TGIF!!
SkyeDS: amen :) my Tavaglione (Italian) deck came today :)
    evile: sweet!
SkyeDS: still waiting for two sets of jewelry from India and to see
if my bid on the Gilded holds up
    evile: :nod
SkyeDS: if not I'll get it from amazon or alibris
evile: Yeah, I think I read on aeclectic tarot that there was a new
printing of Gilded that just came out.
evile: I just ordered a tarot deck for Marca's housewarming prezzie.
evile: It's called the Ferret Tarot and is on b&w nonlaminated card
stock. I thought that and some really nice colored pencils or pens
    would be nice.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: I'm just going to be generic and get a couple of CD's off her
wish list for Erin's housewarming prezzie.
SkyeDS: wish lists are marvelous things
    evile: *nod*
evile: Amazingly, e & I got our plans sussed for tomorrow.
    SkyeDS: cool! :D
evile: We are checking out the AIA homes show, so I now have an
excuse for not helping Erin & Marca move. But it looks like they have
plenty of help and got a truck so they'll make it in one trip. So,
    all is well.
    SkyeDS: good deal
    evile: yeah.
evile: Y'all going to faire tomorrow?
SkyeDS: we may go to Houston tomorrow and spend the night but
    probably not Faire
SkyeDS: more likely visit Joanie[sineater's mom] and/or Nana [Sineater's grandmother]
evile: *nod* that'll be nice. Good for sineater to spend time with his
    fam.
SkyeDS: interestingly, he suggested it first
    evile: good :)
SkyeDS: last time we were in Houston I suggested it first and then it
    required strong persuasion
evile: good for him. family is important, even if some of 'em are a
    PITA
SkyeDS: have to be there at 10 am
SkyeDS: still would rather go and spend the night somewhere, even in
    a rest area, Saturday
SkyeDS: so as not to have to drive both there and back on Sunday
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Laura and Linda are working on finding us places to stay
    Saturday right now :)
    evile: nice of them.
SkyeDS: if the horses can stay at Linda's stable in Katy over night,
we'll be at her place, and if not, I'm checking highways for nearby
rest areas, and still pondering a hotel room
SkyeDS: all the equestrian SPs are like 30 - 50 miles N of Houston,
    and this is S Houston
evile: oh, yuck. that's a huge drive.
SkyeDS: why I'd just as soon crash at a rest area first and Motel 6
    second
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: rest area = can picket the girls outside
SkyeDS: rest area = more comfortable for girls
SkyeDS: motel 6 = more comfortable for us
    evile: yeah...
SkyeDS: both Motel 6 close to Joanie and one close to the stable cool
    evile: that's handy.
SkyeDS: where's Pasadena? NSEW of Houston?
    SkyeDS: south cool
evile: cool. I've seen signs for it, but I didn't remember where.
SkyeDS: Motel 6 at 59 and Bissonnet is a hop skip & jump away from
    the stable
SkyeDS: and is cheap even if I don't reserve online
    evile: excellent.
SkyeDS: turns out that we're going to Morconor afterall
SkyeDS: they scheduled it for the 23rd, and we weren't oging to joust
that weekend because i don't want to drive to Corpus
evile: Oh, yeah, I saw that post. Oct. 23rd.
SkyeDS: we'll go to Corpus for the Faire
SkyeDS: no reason to go that far twice in one season
    evile: makes sense.
SkyeDS: more friends in Waco anyway
SkyeDS: shorter trip, more friends = better
    evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: how the hell did I end up with a life.
evile: heh. I feel the same some days.
SkyeDS: you've always had a life for as long as I've known you (and
no doubt longer than that) :P~
    evile: Ok.
evile: There's already too damn much going on the 23rd. I hate having
    to make decisions.
SkyeDS: Hugh said I can listen to whatever I want to on his satellite
radio when he's not here, which is cool
    SkyeDS: 120 stations
    evile: oh, excellent.
SkyeDS: and I like the same stuff as he does when he is here
evile: good music really does help the time pass better.
SkyeDS: and something else I didn't think about, sineater and sonar0m
rigged up the laptop to our network
SkyeDS: so if it's got speakers and a soundcard I could run
    launchcast on it
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: I haven't had the chance to garb the girls up in their new
    duds yet
    evile: heh. That'll be fun.
SkyeDS: that would be cool, to go out and do Saturday at Hermann Park
    evile: *nod*
evile: hm. I wonder if I have time for a nap after work today....
    SkyeDS: good stuff
evile: I just found out that Vortex is having a rent party tonight,
too, until 2 am, so I can stop by there on the way home from the
    birthday party.
    SkyeDS: :)
    evile: wheeee!
evile: I'm glad I thought to check their page. Sweetie & I were talking
about the Vortex last night after dinner, saying we hadn't been out
to a show there in a long time.
    SkyeDS: Vortex is cool
SkyeDS: used to have Witches Ball there
    evile: yup.
evile: I heard there is going to be one this year, but I haven't seen
    any other info yet.
SkyeDS: I keep googling but I don't see it anywhere
SkyeDS: they'd better hurry up and get it online, time draws near
    evile: typical pagans, unfo.
SkyeDS: hehe PST - Pagan Standard Time
SkyeDS: MST = Musician Standard Time
evile: PST also = poly standard time.
SkyeDS: are polys bad about it too?
evile: I'm an outcast among all the freaks because I believe in
    punctuality.
evile: Oh, you've never been to a restaurant poly dinner?
SkyeDS: I have been a p unctual outcast among pagans and musicians
    all my life
SkyeDS: it causes me to get very angry with the boys when they tell
me we will be ready to go in 45 minutes and it ends up being 3 hours.
evile: The calendar says 7, people show up 7:30, 8, 8:30, and then
dont' understand why the waitstaff is utterly frazzled
evile: Unlike th e No Kidding group, though, the Polys do tip well.
SkyeDS: polys w/o children have more money :P
evile: that's why no kidding's chintziness is so puzzling to me
evile: I haven't been to a No Kidding dinner in months because it's
so excruciatingly embarassing to watch them deal with the bill and be
    so cheapskatey about everything.
evile: I never, ever, EVER leave change for the tip. to a man/woman,
    the No Kidders DO.
    SkyeDS: :|
SkyeDS: Janet refused to go out with us for the longest time
SkyeDS: If I'm happy I overtip
SkyeDS: if I'm not, I undertip or don't at all
SkyeDS: and then she'd tip for us both, which made her mad, and me
too for that matter (because I was trying to make a point)
evile: If there is a real problem with the food or service, I speak
to a manager. otherwise, I figure everyone's entitled to a bad hair
day and it's a shitty job that I'd never wanna do, so I leave at
    least 15%
evile: Personally, I dont know why workers would even bother showing
up for less than min. wage. but waitstaff do.
SkyeDS: and get taxed on tips whether they make them or not
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I've not waited tables but I have had tip jobs (piano,
    carriage, black jack)
SkyeDS: I don't take food problems out on waitstaff, they're not the
    cooks
evile: depends on how the problem is handled.
evile: When we went out to tintinnio, Onyxlynxx wasn't impressed with her
entree, she told the waitress, and the waitress spoke with the chef &
the manager & took some $ off our bill. We tipped her according to
what the total WOULD have been without the discount.
evile: It was handled very graciously, very politel & discreetly. I
    was very impressed.
SkyeDS: what I meant is, if the food sucks, I don't dock the tip
evile: like I said, it's how it's handled. If you say "this is cold"
or "this muschroom dish has no mushrooms" and the waitstaff is
like 'so what?" then it hits their tip
    SkyeDS: ah.
SkyeDS: have never had that happen
evile: it's rare. But it does happen from time to time
SkyeDS: last mgmt I spoke to was the sonic in rockdale
SkyeDS: the food sucks, the service sucks, and as it turns out,
    surprise surprise, the mgmt sucks
evile: I think I remember sineater telling me about that. Sweetie refuses to
go to Sonic anymore because of a similar experience that he had.
    SkyeDS: it varies
SkyeDS: there's one in Canton we won't go to either
SkyeDS: but most of them are ok or better
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: the one in Hutto is superlative
SkyeDS: the one in Manor is usually good
SkyeDS: there's one in Corsicana that's good and has a huge ass
playground they let Arthur play on
SkyeDS: (most places let him eat outside but not play on the slides)
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: noticed driving through Buffalo, I think it was, some place
on 79 anyway, that also has a playground. Have not eaten there yet.
evile: I guess fast food is one of those things for me--kind of good
to find on a road trip, but not necessarily anything I want to have
    too much of.
    SkyeDS: lots of road trips
    evile: *nod*
evile: Our last big trip was to the coast, we took sandwich stuff &
sodas in a cooler. That was nicer & less expensive than trying to
find fast food along the way.
    SkyeDS: we do that too
SkyeDS: however still have to find some place to pull over to eat in
our case because I can't haul horses and eat at the same time
SkyeDS: and eating in vehicle with Arthur in his carrier is right on
    out too
evile: On the ferry across to Bolivar, we made sandwiches and stood
out on the deck & watched the dolphins. Nice. :)
evile: We're talking about getting Peglegasus into some decent (or at least
decently BAD ) garb this year for TRF. He dressed up last year as a
    purple demon. It was...um.
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: We didn't care...but there were some 'garb nazis' that kind of
    made him feel bad
SkyeDS: first time I went to TRF the nazis wouldn't let me wear
    anything that wasn't historical
SkyeDS: so out went most of my entire garb collection
SkyeDS: what aggravated me is 1) I'm a patron
evile: 'let'?...um, darling, you pay to get in like everyone else,
you can wear whatever the fuck you want.
SkyeDS: so I should be able to go in an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow
    polka dot bekini
SkyeDS: and 2) there were french muskateers on staff
SkyeDS: now how many of THOSE did Henry 8 have?
evile: TRF now has orcs/ogres/trolls/somethign and fairies as part of
    cast, so wtf.
    SkyeDS: so I've heard
evile: I'm sad that you let someone push you around like that & ruin
    your fun :(
SkyeDS: I'm a follower, it happens
    evile: still sucks.
evile: I need to get Sweetie & Peglegasus to set aside a few hours so we can go
fabric & pattern shopping for Peg.
evile: Sweetie also mentioned looking for some hideous plaid to do
    a 'kilt of wrong' with.
    SkyeDS: hehe
evile: Of course, the last 'kilt of wrong' fabric I bought with him
    still hasn't been used.
    SkyeDS: why not use it?
evile: I suspect Sweetie cares more about authenticity than he lets on.
it isn't correct plaid, the patterns dont' repeat correctly or
    somethign like that.
SkyeDS: oh. I thought it was to piss the nazis off
evile: i dont' garb for anyone but me, personally.
SkyeDS: nobody would even think of asking me to ROFL
evile: I think Sweetie would rather look authentic for his own happiness,
not to make anyone else happy, too.
evile: Sweetie isn't much for looking like a freak and having people
stare at him, in any setting.
evile: It amuses me to drag out my hideous garb every now and then
and watch people react, or trying not to.
    SkyeDS: the hat is classic
evile: I don't know any garb nazis personally, I hung out with one
for a while until she showed that side of herself and then I decided
    she wasn't worth my time.
evile: I want to make Sweetie & Peglegasus matching muffincaps, but Sweetie wouldnt
    wear his.
evile: The great thing about Peg is that he'll do or try anything, at
    least once.
    SkyeDS: I like Peg :)
evile: I do too. He's a goofus, but he's *our* goofus.
SkyeDS: sonar0m is a goofus, but he has a good heart. All I care
    about.
    evile: *nod*
evile: Found an 'erotic dream' meme onLJ. Never gonna publish those
    results, though.
    http://memegen.net/viewmeme.pl?meme=1074699984
    SkyeDS: what does meme mean?
SkyeDS: (is French for "self" I know, is that it?)
evile: it's a quiz, basically. the ones where you just put in your
username & maybe your birthday, or someother word, and it fills in a
table with names from your friends list, who are doing whatever the
    meme-creator put in the table.
evile: at least that's what it means in LJ-land.
evile: I'm so ready to go home!!!! (browsing dharmatrading.com in the
    meantime, though)
SkyeDS: luckily Hugh isn't in productive mood
    evile: heh.
evile: oh, cool. I won my auction. Gotta go home to do the paypal
thing, it doesn't work at the work computer.
SkyeDS: I'm like an ebay addict when I have money
SkyeDS: it's so convenient to have things delivered to the house or
to work and not have to go shopping
    evile: *nod*
evile: If I could ebay for groceries, I would.
SkyeDS: gro stores used to deliver
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: brb going to run mail
SkyeDS: HUGS and wind to your wings if your'e not here when I get back
    evile: OK :)
