I dreamt about the [ X family] kids last night. I can't remember any
    details. We were indoors, somewhere.

    For August:

    Taurus (April 20- May 20)

Your August Horoscope by Susan Miller

August will bring a major improvement to your life, dear Taurus. If
you were born early in your sign, you may feel this immediately; if
born near the middle-to-third-week of April, then in a few months.
The cause of the excitement is that Jupiter, planet of good fortune,
will leave Leo and move into Virgo on August 27 into your house of
true love and romance. Virgo, a fellow earth sign, is a far more
compatible for you than Leo. You have just won the zodiac jackpot!

In its new placement, Jupiter will bring you into contact with may
new people, some of whom may seem to have an almost fated role to
play in your life. The most obvious result will be for single Taurus —
finally, that special soul mate may be on the way. Because Jupiter
tends to push things as far and as fast as they can go, you may find
yourself falling in love and shopping for rings sooner than you ever
thought possible. Luckily you are a slow-moving Taurus and your
instinct will not allow things to move too fast, as could be the case
    with another sign!

New friends could also be part of this glorious new cycle, and those
people will open new vistas for you. You will have much more time to
let go and enjoy yourself. Dear Taurus, you have been concentrating
on your career and family/residential matters for a long time, so you
may find you need to ease into this new, carefree influence. This
represents a very substantial change that is taking root, one you
will enjoy to no end! You will get invited to more parties and get-
togethers, and generally, you'll be in the mood for pampering.

Jupiter's position suggests a baby may be on the way, too; Jupiter is
in one of the best placements possible for getting pregnant, whether
you plan to or not. If you aren't ready, be careful. If you are,
    well, this is wonderful news.

Your creativity will reach all-time highs as well, beginning now and
extending a full year. If you are paid for your ideas, your employer
and clients will be blown away. Of course, you'll have to apply focus
and discipline, two factors inherent in all creativity — if you do,
the sky's the limit now. There is a strong possibility that you will
mix with more artistic types from now on, and doing so will energize
you. If you are not in a so-called creative profession, you will
still be able to bring creative elements into your work and view
things from a fresh angle, something Jupiter will help you do. Also,
get involved with new hobbies and sports. You will have no idea what
you can do until you try.

Jupiter will remain with you for a year. Sometimes there's a catch to
Jupiter's presence: In order to notice the fullness of its benefits
you need a new moon to push things into action. I am surprised and
happy to report you will have just that, making Jupiter's powers
their strongest — a new moon will arrive on the same day as Jupiter's
transition, August 27! Talk about getting a kick-start!
Looking at your chart, you have likely been in a social mood for a
couple of months. Mars, the energy planet, has set up residence in
your solar eleventh house of friends and groups, so you have probably
been busy making new acquaintances. Mars will work with this month's
energy to coax you into the thick of things.

As of August 27, you will need to step things up to another level.
Change your orbit and try a little harder to meet new people. With
your planetary aspects, even if you WANTED to stay home by the fire
reading a good book, that probably wouldn't be possible now! Your
friends will drag you out! This month, you may take a vacation
(perfect!), be invited to a terrific party or networking event or may
be going to a friend's wedding. You may get tickets to a play or
concert or take up the offer to join an intriguing someone for a
romantic dinner. Generally, you are about to feel freer and less
hemmed in by life's obligations. As you can see, new music will be
playing in the background of your life, dear Taurus, and it's a tune
    you will find hauntingly beautiful.

You will have a superb chance to meet your soul mate during the next
13 months, the length of Jupiter's stay, with a special boost at the
end of August and through the first week of September. It is
imperative that you get out more, dear Taurus. Even attached Taurus
will be able to spin some rather magical memories.

If you were born early in your sign, near April 20 to April 29, you
will benefit most from this extraordinary new moon. ALL Taurus will
benefit from Jupiter's move into Virgo. In fact, even your health
    will improve.

Because this energy kicks off on August 27, you won't feel its
fullness until September. Still, I think I can still find several
special date nights for you in August.

My favorite date night of the month (which I will explain in greater
depth in a moment) will arrive on August 21, when Venus embraces
Jupiter and they waltz lovingly across the star-studded sky. It would
be perfect for a picnic or outdoor party at home, or an indoor dinner
(whether for 12 or one-on-one, with your sweetie). It would also be a
superb day to enjoy some lavish (and expensive!) pampering. Male or
female readers may want to get their hair cut by a top stylist, have
a seaweed wrap, or get a massage. This day will be doubly important
if you were born near April 20.

Your runner-up date nights will include: Saturday August 9 when the
moon glides in compatible Capricorn, Wednesday, August 27 and
Thursday, August 28, which will be special by association because
they cluster around the new moon.

By all reasonable estimates, August 22 SHOULD be a good day, because
the Sun and Jupiter will make a landmark meeting. Whenever the Sun
and Jupiter combine forces, it almost always brings on the happiest
day of the year. Perhaps not so this year, for Uranus is anxious to
steal the show by acting like a boisterous, out-of-control juvenile.
I don't know what to tell you, dear Taurus. On one hand you have some
of the best aspects you could wish for with the meeting of the Sun
and Jupiter. You also have one of the worst, with Uranus opposed to
the Sun, which could give you problems with a home-related matter or
regarding a parent. Perhaps you will find that this energy brings
both — a very mixed day when emotions could go to either end of the
spectrum in different parts of your life, all at once. See what
    happens.

At month's end, with FIVE out of ten planets in your house of true
love and creativity, you should feel some intense energy in this
area. Some people unconsciously use energy like this toward creative
measures, while others will direct it toward social interaction. If
you don't see an increase of social activity, it may be that you are
shy and that you feel more comfortable directing this energy into
your creative projects. If so, there is nothing wrong with that, for
at the end of this trend, you will have something for which you are
very proud to show for your efforts.

Sometimes directing all your psychic energy into creativity can be
frustrating. The same goes for relationships, especially if your
actions don't support your deepest desires. Sometimes, you THINK you
want to find a soul mate, but everything you do says you really
don't. You may be afraid of a new relationship. Perhaps current
obligations are holding you back because you simply can't find the
time to get out and meet people or commit to a budding romance or
even a new friendship. (Relationships do require time and energy,
that's for sure.) Sometimes a lack of self-confidence is the problem.
If you think this describes you, you might want to go back to the gym
for more self-assurance. Good health and a fit body work wonders for
    self image.

If your reluctance is deeper than this, perhaps you should consider
getting some professional help to work out a specific problem.

This takes a bit of self-honesty, so peer into your heart, dear
Taurus, to decide if your actions truly do show you are open to
meeting someone. If they're not, find out why, and work to change
    your patterns at this time.

Sometimes the mind gets in the way. I recently received a letter from
a woman who fell in love with a man twenty years ago. He was married
so they didn't have unlimited time together, and there was no
guarantee he would leave his wife (although, as many do in this
situation, she felt he would). Then, tragically, he died suddenly in
an auto accident only eight months into their relationship. She says
that she was so in love and so devastated by his death that she
    hadn't dated anyone significant since.

Had her lover lived and they had a longer relationship, she may have
had time to develop a more balanced, less idealistic view of her man.
Instead, she feels no one can live up to the vision she has held in
her heart. Competing with a vision is nearly impossible for any new
suitor. Probably, unconsciously, she has eliminated everyone in the
    field.

This would all be fine if she weren't so frustrated not to be able to
meet someone, which is why she wrote in the first place. You see,
then, that with some of us the problem lies not in the world, but
within our heart. She needs to make a mental change before any
romance can take place. Once she does, she will find love. This lady
is a Taurus, and Taurus tends to hang on to old feelings for a very
long time, especially feelings of admiration. In this case, this
tendency seems to be getting in the way of new love. It looks like
she's ready to make that shift. Are you?

Now let's turn to another big theme in your chart, which will focus
on your residence, domestic decisions and family relationships.

At the start of August, real estate deals glitter. Over the past
year, since August 2002, you have had superb aspects for buying,
selling or leasing property. If you haven't taken full advantage,
perhaps you will this month. The new moon that appeared at the very
end of July is still exerting a powerful energy as the month begins.

If you need a new place to live, or if you want to create changes in
your present home, act quickly to make plans. (There seems to be a
special urgency to settle things if you were born near April 24.)
Your chart shows that amazing opportunities exist if you look. You
are in a phase that is truly ideal for buying/selling a house,
signing a lease or acquiring some new furniture. You can now give
your space a beautiful upgrade. It's the time to act.

While the first two weeks of August will be your best for any home-or-
family-related endeavor, there will be another point in the month
that also shines for the same activities. That would be August 21,
    worthy of five stars!

On this day, Venus, your ruler, will join lucky Jupiter, the planet
of happiness, expansion, luck and growth. The fact that your ruling
planet is involved is critical here — this aspect has your name
written all over it. If you have no plans to change your home, then
make a special effort at this time. At the very least, give a party
on this superb day. Venus only meets with Jupiter once a year — this
    is your day!

Your career is sure to heat up this month too, on or within five days
of August 12, when the full moon falls in Aquarius lighting your
solar tenth house of fame, promotion and honors. This full moon is
all about your reputation and what others say and think about you.
Make sure it's the best it can be.

If you were born on May 9, you will notice this new moon. You may
need to be nimble to squash a project or business matter that is
about to spin out of control. Perhaps a misunderstanding or misplaced
    information will now cause problems.

Still, no matter when you were born, you will have enough good
aspects on this full moon to turn things in your favor if you keep
your cool. Don't make any assumptions. The reason certain pieces of
the puzzle haven't fallen into place may surprise you, so keep
digging by asking lots of questions. So much depends on how other
planets in your natal chart are being touched — if you have good
aspects, you can circumnavigate problems quite deftly.

No matter when your birthday falls, this full moon on August 12 could
be the moment that brings a big promotion or a new job offer. A full
moon always relates to work done in the past — if you worked hard,
this could payback time. You may get publicity in the newspaper, or
be interviewed on TV or radio. You may be elected to a post in a
volunteer club you belong to, or your building's co-op board. This
full moon is about leadership. If you've done everything right, your
    profile is about rise.

Keep in mind that Mercury will retrograde from August 27 to September
20, not a good time to sign contracts or to buy anything expensive.
We become forgetful, delays crop up, and generally, life goes into
slow motion under this influence. Be as productive as you can in the
first part of August and plan to kick back as the month moves on.
September will be even slower than August, I am so sorry to report.
Mars, the energy planet will be retrograde, too (until September 27),
adding to the overall lethargic pace. In all, try not to give your
final answer on any offer until things improve in late September. You
can continue to plan and do research and to have talks in the
meantime — just keep in the back of your mind that you will need to
readjust some of what you put into place. None of these developments
    is tragic — only annoying!

    Summary:

In every way, life keeps getting better, dear Taurus. This month will
bring a major milestone when Jupiter, the planet of luck and fortune,
visits your house of true love on August 27. On that same day there
will be a new moon in the same part of your chart — an indication
that if you want new love, it is there for you. You will have to make
an effort to circulate to make this extraordinary luck work for you.
(Jupiter is powerful but won't find you if you lock yourself in your
house!) If married, you may be ready for a baby or wish to make
special plans for a child you already have. This same planetary
influence will boost your creativity. Take your interests, hobbies
and passions seriously, as one may have powerful profit potential.

In a month with so much good news, your career could easily catch
fire, bringing interesting developments and offers. Watch events near
August 12, plus or minus four days, for news.

Do you need to move or dress up your present digs? When it comes to
real estate you'll have the Midas touch. If shopping for a mortgage
or a refinancing plan, complete your application during August's
first half, when Pluto and the Sun will be so magnificently linked.
You'll find an attractive option and your application will likely be
    quickly approved.

Finally, on August 21, go shopping, schedule a massage, plan a party
or have a major meeting — Venus, your ruler, paired with Jupiter will
make it a banner day for you!

    Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Your August Horoscope by Susan Miller

As a Gemini, you love to see things happen quickly. You need lots of
variety and continual change, which is why in August you will need to
steel your nerves and remind yourself that the universe doesn't
always march to your timetable. Mars, the energy planet, went
retrograde last month on July 27 in your solar tenth house of career
promotion and prestige. This means that, until Mars goes direct on
September 27, professional progress will be harder and slower than
    you'd like.

Uranus, now in this same tenth house of fame and honors, is also
retrograde, a condition that has been in place since early June.
Uranus won't move forward until early November. Being an outer
planet, Uranus' slower orbit won't cause you quite the immediate
problems that Mars' could. I bring it up only to show you that there
is not one but two planets in slow mode in your career house. If
nothing seems to happen fast enough for you in the near future, you
    will know why.

To make things a bit more frustrating, your ruler Mercury will also
retrograde, from August 27 to September 20. Mercury will tour your
solar fourth house of home and family when it starts to nap. Hence,
you will feel talks slowing down on both career and home-related
    fronts.

You can make progress, but it will be akin to watching grass grow.
You must continue to have meetings, do your research, and most
importantly, to revise and review your strategy. You're likely to
find plenty of flaws to your assumptions. Try to focus your energy on
projects you have already started rather than launch anything new —
this will not be the time for fresh starts. If you have had problems
dealing with existing projects, you could be closer to a fix than you
think. Focus intently on them, even — if you can manage it — at the
    exclusion of everything else.

This month's energies are complex. You will be at your most
persuasive, articulate and energetic best. Your sharpness in the face
of all these sleepy planets is thanks to the July 27 new moon in your
solar third house, which, as you begin August, will still exert
potent energy. However, the contrast between your perky get-up-and-go
and the slow pace of events is sure to make you want to tear your
hair out. If it helps, keep in mind that most people are in the same
    boat.

I don't want you to hang back — proceed and try to side step potholes
in your path. True, you cannot sign contracts while weakened Mercury
is spinning in the heavens, from August 27 to September 20. You can
lay the groundwork and set up the foundation, though. Ask questions,
have meetings, by all means, but don't launch anything and don't give
    your final word.

Once Mercury and Mars go direct there will be no waiting, no prelude,
no moment to catch your breath. Things will move quickly — like fire!
With Mars in your tenth solar tenth house of honors and achievement
(where it has been since mid-June and will continue to be until mid-
December), life will be go, go, go from end of September on. Mars
will teach you to take the most direct route from A to B, and to be
quite assertive in your moves. Good! You may not feel like you are
making progress but you are, even now, before these planets return
direct. Indeed, if you are being diligent and focused, believe me,
your chart tells me you will cover much more ground than you will
    give yourself credit for.

The best time to sign papers would be this month, until the August 12
full moon. I don't want you to make any commitments too close to the
onset date of Mercury's turn retrograde. (This month, that will be on
August 27.) Instead, make your cutoff point that Gemini-friendly full
moon. Once Mercury goes direct — in this case, on September 20 — as I
said, you won't have to hold back. You will be able to spring into
action at that time next month.

Your chart has a strong emphasis on intellectual development,
communication, publishing and general stimulation from others. If you
don't satisfy your intellectual yearnings, you may experience cabin
fever. Travel as much as your schedule will allow. The first part of
the month will be ideal for quick trips, and near August 12 a longer
trip — cross-country or even overseas — may be in the cards.

It is interesting just how big the theme of new agreements is in your
chart right now. Last month's new moon stimulated your third house,
and this month's full moon on August 12 will stimulate your ninth
house. Both houses rule negotiations, with the third house covering
contracts, and the ninth house, your lawyer's comments and any
amendments made to it. (The ninth house would also rule any disputes
over the contract, which hopefully will never develop.) With this
full moon in your ninth house, you may finally see a contract
crystallize, complete with your lawyer's blessings, within four days
of August 12. At that time, you can sign, but do so without any
    delay!

The August 12 full moon will bring positive events, doubly so if you
were born within five days of June 9. (The July new moon in your
third house of communication and short-distance travel, at play
during the first ten days of August, will favor Gemini born on or
within five days of May 26.)

You may be deeply involved in a publishing project near the full
moon. With Neptune close to the moon, you may feel very inspired and
quite creative under its spell. This moon will also be quite
supportive to Pluto, suggesting a partner, agent, editor, lawyer,
representative or other middleman (someone who speaks for you) will
be helpful. This person may present an opportunity, finish a deal or
    get something settled.

Late August will bring sensational news, some of the best of the
month! It will involve the move of Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck,
into your fourth house of home and family, a stay that will last
until late September 2004! Only two outer planets are due to change
signs in 2003, and Saturn, the other planet, already did so in June.
The impending move of Jupiter is truly a MAJOR development, one that
will color your life for many months to come.

Your solar fourth house rules your home and family relationships.
This month you will have FIVE planets crowded into this sector.
That's amazing! Something is likely to be up at home at the very end
of the month. Let's look at the planets that will be there: Jupiter,
    the giver of gifts and luck; Venus, planet of happiness and beauty;
Mercury, your ruler, where your mind is centered; the Sun, giver of
life and strength; and the new moon, the most able heavenly body,
which will organize this group and get everything rolling in your
    domestic affairs.

You may move, buy a house, redecorate, paint, make repairs, or sweep
clutter out of closets — or all of the above! This would be SUCH a
good time for such activities! You may set up a home office, help
your parent's move, shop for antique bargains in a flea market or
have an amazing party in your backyard or living room! There has
never been a better time to buy or sell a house, or to deal with any
    real estate issues.

You are also likely to have awesome family support for your goals now
and in the next thirteen months. If you need a cash loan, it appears
    to be there for you.

If you are adopted and always hoped to find your biological mother or
father, this amazing energy — so strong now, and prevalent until
September 2004 — will help you do so.

Many of the planets clustered in Virgo will be at harsh angles to the
Sun of Gemini born May 24 (plus or minus five days), creating some
tension in the last week of August and early September. Tension isn't
necessarily bad — it may be a catalyst that makes you jump on a plan
that you've been meaning to set into motion for a long time.

Finally, the fourth house is also the place the ancient astrologers
called "the end of all matters." It symbolizes the end of the day,
when the clock strikes midnight and night becomes early morning.
Instead of focusing on home or family, it's possible that a long-term
situation or relationship may now reach an end — this could apply to
just about any area of your life. Jupiter's position in this house
seems to point to an upbeat finale. This is a new moon, so there
seems to be another chapter involved; as one thing ends, something
    else will begin, almost immediately.

With so many benefic planets in this house, and with Jupiter in such
comforting angle to Saturn, something good has to come out of this!
(Keep in mind that all this happens at the END of August.)

Finally, what's up in love? I know you are interested in romance, but
you'll have to sit tight for any big waves in this area.
Relationships will be a bigger theme at the end of next month,
    September through early to mid-October.

In the meantime, one of your best date nights will be Thursday,
August 21, when Venus and Jupiter will have a passionate meeting. The
moon will be in Gemini, meaning that whatever you do, there will be
two steps involved — perhaps two meetings! This day will bode well
for all sorts of things. It would be a most perfect day for travel.
It would also be an ideal time to be fixed up on a blind date. These
two planets don't meet that often, but when they do, wow! This will
    be a five-star day.

As runner-up, I like the time around the full moon on August 12, plus
or minus four days. The proceeding weekend, August 9 to August 10
should be fun, especially if you travel. (This is a really good month
to get out of town!) Indeed, that proceeding weekend should be
delicious, because the compatible full moon in fellow air-sign
Aquarius will override everything in its path, which is good news for
you. I also love the lovely interaction that will take place between
Pluto and the Sun during that weekend, indicating that you and a
partner can plot a sublime time together. Consider a long weekend to
make the most of these dates!

The other two wonder weekends for you will be Saturday, August 2, and
Saturday, August 16. Both bring lovely aspects, dear Gemini. You are
quite fortunate that your weekends in August should be upbeat.
Remember, however, that the very end of September and early October
will bring much stronger aspects for love.

Finally, August 22 is supposed to be a spectacular day — by all
rights it should be, with the Sun strolling with happy-go-lucky
Jupiter. However, I'm sorry to say there's a catch to this day.
Uranus will act up, sure to pick a fight with the Sun just to get
attention, spoiling this otherwise excellent vibe. So, while you will
have some of the best of all aspects on this date, you will also have
some of the worst. It could be a very mixed day, with elation and
setbacks all stirred together in one big cake mix. Home/family is
likely to bring you the good news, and your career (through the words
of your boss/client) seems to be the area of tension. Take things as
    they come, dear Gemini.

    Summary:

Career and home life will both take center stage this month. With
people demanding your full attention on both fronts, you may not know
whom to attend to first. Make your home and family a key priority.
Aspects next month will help demystify a pending career matter. This
month, news on the domestic front seems more pressing — and will
yield better results. That's because Jupiter, the good luck planet,
will move into your fourth house of residence and family for the
first time in a decade. Jupiter will protect you there for the next
thirteen months, so your private life appears to be poised for
enormous gains. If you have any domestic matters to address, do so
from August 27 to September 10, your very best period in all of 2003
    to do so.

If life in general seems too intense, take a travel break at the full
moon on August 12 in your house of distant travel. Another
opportunity to journey a bit closer to home may arise on August 21.
If so, that little trip, whether taken for business or pleasure,
would also bring divine results. A book, article, speech or thesis
may come to a grand conclusion mid-month. Enjoy all the activity.

Next month won't be nearly as productive when your ruler, Mercury,
will retrograde on August 28. Make tracks as fast as you can before
    then.
