evile: (clutter)

    Apr. 1, 2004

    evile: howdy.

    SkyeDS: mornin! (just barely)

SkyeDS: Sineater had long talk w/ Aunt Lynn last night

    evile: Lynn told me.

SkyeDS: I think we're all meeting Easter weekend at the park in RR

evile: Too bad I'll be recovering from surgery.

SkyeDS: I told Sineater what you said about the picture and so he
    apologized to her.

SkyeDS: recovering from brain surgery might be more pleasant than
[Rubber Pig] & kids in park.

evile: I don't think Lynn actually expects thank you *letters*
anymore, but she does like to hear tha tpeople got her present &
    liked it.

    SkyeDS: /me nods

evile: Not brain. The other troublesome organ.

    SkyeDS: I was exaggerating

evile: You haven't met her yet. You never know...you may find a way
to like her, or you may enjoy her stories & her personality in a way
    that I do not...

SkyeDS: so I asked him, did you know that the picture was from Aunt
Lynn and not evilE? and he said yes.

SkyeDS: so I'm like, that's great, I was defending you.

evile: I did tell him when I handed it over in Live Oak. But...there
was other stuff going on, as I recall, so he might not have
    remembered who gave who what.

SkyeDS: besides that, he talked to Aunt Lynn on the phone about it,
    before getting it (I think)

    evile: yup.

SkyeDS: adn I also told him, look, roads travel two directions

SkyeDS: next time you feel inclined to say "nobody tells me anythign"
why don't you pick up the phone and make calls yourself.

evile: Life was alot easier when I blamed you for his incommunicado
status. But once I analyzed that rationally, I realized he's always
been that way, long before you were in the picture. :P

SkyeDS: I suspect that he finds it easier to let people think a great
    many things are my fault.

evile: And, really, I'm that way too. I just really hate talking on
    the phone.

SkyeDS: adn some people are inclined to see things that way no matter
what he says to the contrary

SkyeDS: /me shrugs, just the way it is

    evile: How's your dad doing?

SkyeDS: he's walkign, eating, and talking a very little

SkyeDS: he will have to have speech therapy because that's the part
of the brain t hat was damaged

    evile: that's an improvement!

SkyeDS: I think he ought to file for disability and retire

evile: He sounds like a pretty stubborn guy.

SkyeDS: he's eligible for full retirement this year as a matter of
fact (60 yo and 28 years of teachign)

SkyeDS: he and my mother are two of the four most stubborn
personalities on the face of this earth.

SkyeDS: she is a Taurus and he is an Aquarius, which astrologically
is the biggest of no nos

SkyeDS: so I use them as an example frequently

evile: It's possible he could be persuaded into retiring and then
going back to work part time "double dipping" they call it in State
    service.

SkyeDS: yes, the impossible can be done, it's just very rare, few and
    far between

evile: Frame it like he's putting something over on them rather than
admitting he can't work FT anymore.

SkyeDS: whatever he does, if he does something part time, taint gonna
be teachin because he can't teach when he can't talk well

    evile: Something administrative, maybe?

SkyeDS: Mom wants him to retire

SkyeDS: I suspect Mom will get what she wats

SkyeDS: I think Mom is probably eligible to retire too, either this
    year or next

SkyeDS: they're coming with Gramma midMay to visit

evile: well, especially if there's also a medical opinion to bakc her
    up.

SkyeDS: I need to get three fishing poles

    evile: heh. good plan.

SkyeDS: I told Mom that 100% of our practice is health law,
    representing doctors.

SkyeDS: and that the neuro's and the psychs say that the brain is
    just like electrical wiring

    SkyeDS: there are pathways

SkyeDS: adn you can forge new ones if you try hard enough

    evile: yup.

SkyeDS: I ought to make them use great big old bamboo poles without
reels, like I had to use when I was a kid

    evile: that would be fun.

SkyeDS: and I wanted to play with the reels andn wasn't allowed.

    evile: aww.

SkyeDS: but since I don know nuthin bout buyin no fishin poles, Miz
Scarlett, I think I will wait till they get here, take them shopping
and let them pick out their own.

SkyeDS: I am surprised they don't have any left. When I was growig
up, we had both ski boat and fishing boat.

evile: that would probably be a nice way to while away an hour of 3.
    shopping is always good.

SkyeDS: makes me wonnder if they saved my expensive slalom ski when
    they sold my skiboat...oh well.

    evile: yup.

SkyeDS: I was the one that suggested the park.

evile: Being the gadget-freaks they are, they probably have a lot of
Goodwill runs/garage sales/whatever to make room for new stuff and
    get rid of old stuff.

SkyeDS: I intend to spend my time with my children

SkyeDS: since I am not necessary to anything

evile: That should be nice. The kids will have something to do
    besides trash Lynn's house.

SkyeDS: and if I do well babysitting hers, good

SkyeDS: if not, I intend to get on my low horse and ride away

SkyeDS: (they're too little to be high horses :P)

evile: I had suggested a park, last time Lynn was trying to organize
a get-together. But my favorite park doesn't have a playground (Bull
    Creek)

SkyeDS: I suggested the park when nobody sounded thrilled about
coming out to the house <shrug>

evile: And parks with playgrounds have sprogs. Which, in addition to
{Rubber Pig} 's, would be toooo much for me.

SkyeDS: Kelly's kids and little 1 yo Constance have never given me a
moment's worry around all my pretty breakables.

evile: I don't care if I am feeling fine by easter sunday, I'm still
going to be at home recovering from surgery, whether I feel sick or
not I'm going to take it easy on myself and not heap stress upon
    stress.

SkyeDS: but X's children were problematic that one time

    evile: ?

SkyeDS: and I am so shortsighted, I never know there's trouble
    brewing until it's too late

evile: I don't remember it at all.

SkyeDS: well, I didn't know much about childproofing homes at that
    point

SkyeDS: first she invited us over for dinner

SkyeDS: then their place got flooded

SkyeDS: when the little girl was still of an age to eat half a piece
of food and then shove the rest in X's mouth

    evile: yuck.

SkyeDS: so they came over to our place when we were living with
    Janet, for dinner

SkyeDS: and the kid<s> I don'nt even remember whether they had one or
two at that point, I think just onen

SkyeDS: threw food all over the house

    evile: wow. that's pretty awful..

SkyeDS: I had just enough foresight to have all my stuffed animals
    easily reachable

SkyeDS: adn told them it was okay for her to be on my carousel horse

SkyeDS: but did not realize that with all that beign permissible

SkyeDS: that they would head for the one thign that wasn't

SkyeDS: the curio stand full of porcelain and crystal

    evile: of course.

SkyeDS: and then got told when all was said ad done that it was my
responsibility to remove the temptations completely from the living
    room ad into my bedroom

SkyeDS: all I know is, when I was of an age to be fascinated by
beautiful thigns (and I still am) like at elderly aunts adn uncles
    houses (grandparents brothers and sisters)

SkyeDS: I was raised damn good ad nwell to knonw I did'nt touch
    without askign

    SkyeDS: (damn keyboard sigh)

evile: I *hate* it when the breeders expect us to childproof our
homes for them. FTS. It's my damn house. control your cuntlings.

SkyeDS: well you know how easy it is to cow me into accepting blame

    SkyeDS: tis my greatest weakness

SkyeDS: someone tells me I'm awful and I believe them

SkyeDS: Kelly and the kids have pillow fights at my place but I have
ever worried about any of my stuff

evile: Well, for a woman who supposedly comes from an Old Texas Oil
family & went to Charm School, her children sure don't know shit
    about how to behave anywhere.

SkyeDS: what did they do to Lynn's house?

evile: I have no idea. Lynn just said they 'trashed' it.

evile: I wasnt there, we'd made other committments that day.

SkyeDS: there are lots of thigns in my house to fascinate children

SkyeDS: some of which they can play with ad some they can't

SkyeDS: I try to go out of my way, like with little Constance (1 yo),
to put stuffed animals in the floor for her

SkyeDS: and let her beat on my bodhran

SkyeDS: play with the tamborine et

evile: Polite adults/children will ask before they touch. Most
parents dont' seem to be teaching this anymore.

SkyeDS: andn of course the carousel horse can bear a certain amount
    of weight

    SkyeDS: /me nnods

SkyeDS: it's p roblematic when child heads for altar, shrine or curio
    shelf

SkyeDS: if parental doesn't say no

evile: If I can help it, I don't want kids in my house unless I've
met them already & know they behave (Rio & Dee's kids come to mind)

SkyeDS: even those things can stand being handled, if they are
handled carefully, and that's definitely a parental involvement thing
    there

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: Dee's child is remarkable. (Princess is too).

evile: A couple of yers ago some dumb bitch wrote to Dear Abby
because she'd taken her crotch goblin to a CF friends house, and the
kid started touching the Hummel figurines. TheCF friend smacked the
kids hand and the friend was outraged & wanting Abby to tell her she
    was right to be mad.

    SkyeDS: what did Abby say

evile: Abby did so, being the brainless breeder pleaser she is. I was
FURIOUS & Iwrote Abby and said "No. It was the MOMS responsibility to
keep the kid from touching the figurines, and if Mom wasn't doing her
job, I don't blame her friend AT ALL"

SkyeDS: I think conventional wisdom (ie the wisdom of vanilla
mundanes) is usually no wisdom at all

evile: Abby was all like "oh, everyone should childproof their homes
for the little visitors!" and I was just....NO.

SkyeDS: by nature of vanilla mundanes being spineless brainless
    bipedal chimp sheeple.

evile: It's MY house. I don't have kids so that I can keep pretty,
breakable, poisonous things wherever I like. (well, I have cats, so
    that's not 100% true, but!)

SkyeDS: seems like it's easier to Arthurproof than to childproof
    sometimes

    evile: probably.

SkyeDS: you know he was loose in the house 12 hours one day and
didn't so much as create a singe splinter

SkyeDS: he could have turned the whole house to toothpicks in that
    time

    evile: wow.

SkyeDS: I got home from work and he's on top of his cage doing
the "I'm all that, I've been loose all day ha ha ha" dance

    evile: hee.

SkyeDS: the only thing out of place was something from the top of the
    fridge

SkyeDS: I surmise he climbed his daddy's drawing board to get to the
    bananas

SkyeDS: but you know how much antique wood I"ve got, and he didn't
    touch a piece

SkyeDS: ad there was no poop on the floor anywhere either

    evile: wow.

    SkyeDS: I meann good lord

SkyeDS: if someone gives me permission to bring Arthur into their
abode, I'm not going to take him in a room where there's wicker
furniture and say, ok, host, now birdproof this room.

    evile: right.

SkyeDS: adn contnrary to popular belief

SkyeDS: I do'tn expect people to let us into the house with Arthur
    for multiple overnight stays

SkyeDS: I have said may times I am perfectly happy in a hotel

    SkyeDS: affords more privacy too

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: I can walk naked from bed to bath or whatever

    SkyeDS: be up all nnight

    SkyeDS: etc

SkyeDS: when people get upset is, well but we want you to stay HERE

    SkyeDS: for whatever reaso

    evile: wierd

SkyeDS: well, wherever I stay, Arthur is, and that's that

SkyeDS: and, if I stay in a hotel, I"ve got to be able to afford it

SkyeDS: which means, we travel when we have the money to do so

SkyeDS: it's no skin off my nose, one way or the other

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: but there are facts of life

SkyeDS: where we stay, Arthur stays, so that's either a motel, or
wherever, there are choices, but you have to choose

evile: I'm glad we just have cats now. Very low maintenance.

SkyeDS: if Arthur were a smaller bird it wouldn't be so hard to find
    him a sitter

SkyeDS: but we've left him home three times in our history together

SkyeDS: adn all three times, he cried piteously and loudly nonstop
    for Sineater

    evile: aww

SkyeDS: I would imagine that to be quite nervewracking for the
    caretaker.

SkyeDS: and two of those three times he was in the care of
    professional birdpeople.

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: how hard is it to say to a child

    SkyeDS: isn't that pretty

SkyeDS: you don't want to hurt it do you?

SkyeDS: ask nicely if you can touch it

SkyeDS: and be very careful with it if you do touch it

SkyeDS: ad here, let me help you

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: I have never met a child personally that wanted to hurt
    something

evile: Most parents cant be bothered. Kids break shit and mangle
animals and they just look on and say "oh, s/he's just a child,"

    SkyeDS: on purpose.

SkyeDS: oh nno no no, there will be no mangling or other abuse of my
    animals

evile: My sister knew "pet the kitty soft" before she was 1. I know
it can be done, so I don't ever buy the 'just a child' excuse.

SkyeDS: we've worked too damn hard to have babies as perfect as they
come, to have anyone, child or no, ruin that

SkyeDS: I knew that before I knew how to talk

SkyeDS: and I bet you did too

evile: There was a news story about a guy who beat a puppy to death
    for biting his kid.

SkyeDS: I hope the spca got him

SkyeDS: I've watched animal precinct before we lost cable

evile: He was not supervising the child's interaction with the puppy,
so you know the kid was probably pulling the damn things ears off
before the puppy finally had enough and bit.

SkyeDS: I would like to be an animal officer

SkyeDS: but we don't have them here

SkyeDS: I have never had a child come down off the horses

evile: I'd like to be a child control officer. "I'm sorry ma'am, your
child's gotten a taste of human flesh, he's going to have to be put
    down.."

SkyeDS: that's going to be potentially bad, first time it happens

SkyeDS: would be my luck, will happen next weekend

SkyeDS: (I know, don'nt borrow trouble)

    evile: could be.

evile: [Rio's son] came real close to falling off Mirage at Live Oak.

    SkyeDS: he did?

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: I thought all we did was walk around with sonar0m leading them.

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: of course Jess was being overly exuberant and I had my hands
full so I could'nt see the entire time

    evile: yeah.

SkyeDS: occasionally she forgets that she has brakes

    evile: it happens.

SkyeDS: was he scared? did he get over it ok?

    SkyeDS: /me feels neglectful now

evile: It happened so fast I don't think he even knew he was
    overbalancing and fixing to fall.

SkyeDS: was that when he was mounting?

evile: nope. on the way back.

SkyeDS: I do remember vaguely that it looked like he was going to go
all the way over the side

SkyeDS: as much as I enjoy trips to SM, it's always too stressful

    SkyeDS: so no more

evile: too bad, but probably for the best.

SkyeDS: I could wage a battle with the City Council (go over the
heads of the peons I dealt with last time)

SkyeDS: adn I would win it

SkyeDS: but it isn't worth the time or effort

    evile: yup.

    SkyeDS: ya know...

SkyeDS: if there are vendors at CRW

evile: It would be one thing if you lived there & went out to the
park frequently....but since you don't, it's probably not worth the
    fight.

SkyeDS: why should I give rides away for free....

    evile: true.

    SkyeDS: mercenary thought, bad llama

evile: or at least keep a tip bucket.

SkyeDS: if the other vendors don't give their earnings to HFS can't
see why I should have to right?

    evile: exactly.

SkyeDS: reasoning I get tired of hearing

SkyeDS: "If you don't bring children into the world and raise them
right, then the only children the world will be the ones raised wrong"

    evile: so?

SkyeDS: first, that's not even a true premise, there ARE people
raisign their kids with manners. I know some personally.

evile: and I should bring my brilliant, gifted, elfin adorable
children into the world to be beaten and shamed by the oafish
offspring of the rotten parents of the world?

evile: Sorry, I experienced that, and I won't inflict that kind of
    life on an innocent soul.

SkyeDS: I am not happy about STuart abandoning his kids

SkyeDS: I mean, how can he be even a part time parent from three
    states away.

evile: *shrug* my mom made it as a single mom and we turned out Ok.

SkyeDS: and the oldest is 5, surely none of the three is old enough
    to be travelign constantly

SkyeDS: for all I know, they might be better off without him

SkyeDS: lord knows we don't need them to be raised to be like him

SkyeDS: but I'm still not happy with him

SkyeDS: and if he hits mom up for money while he's there I'll kill im

    evile: nope.

SkyeDS: I told her that last night ad she laughed. I wasn't joking.

    evile: heh.

SkyeDS: I wodner if my chances of meetign the children are less ow

SkyeDS: I want to meet them without him immediately attached.

evile: I think for the sake of your dad's health, you should try and
get along with your brother for now.

SkyeDS: that's why he's in Txka at the moment and I'm not.

    evile: good plan.

SkyeDS: Mom told him last time he abused their monetary aid that
    there would be no more

evile: *shrug* it's their money, anyway. If the wanna throw it down a
    rathole, that's their business.

SkyeDS: but that was before he had the perfect excuse "but I'm
gettign divorced and I have three kids to support"

    SkyeDS: that's true too.

    evile: yup.

SkyeDS: all I want is to meet the kids

SkyeDS: andn it's not a particularly burning desire, just when I think
about it, from time to time

SkyeDS: burning desire = dually, 4H w/ LQ trailer, babies, a
Friesian, a Gypsy and an Andalusian

SkyeDS: and maybe another bird or two

    evile: yup

SkyeDS: so Sweetie will be chauffeur service to future family events
    right?

evile: yup. Or I'll drive one of the troopers & he can drive one of
    the VWs

    SkyeDS: good.

evile: I dont' trust the troopers on long road trips, but they're
    fine for in-town.

SkyeDS: same with the ranger atm

evile: I still don't understand why Lynn's going thru all this hassle
to do what {Rubber Pig}/[brother A] wants. If it's important for [brother A]/{Rubber Pig}, they
should be the one calling you, and set up a time for Sineater & you to
    meet {Rubber Pig} & her kids...

    SkyeDS: Sineater had that thought.

evile: Just my 2 cents. The less I hang with normal people, the less
I seem to understand why people put themselves through unpleasant
situations in order to be 'normal'.

SkyeDS: Lynn is tactful. She withheld her opinion and told Sineater to
    form his own.

    evile: Good for her.

evile: Like I said, you may find that you enjoy her personality.

    evile: Mom likes her.

evile: And [brother A] is happy. So, really...that's the important part
    right there

SkyeDS: Lynn said that last night (bout [brother A])

SkyeDS: your mom said why she likes her?

evile: I haven't talked to my mom in a while (I hate talking on the
phone. I feel guilty, and I do need to call her...but. agh.)

evile: {Rubber Pig} is quite beautiful and smart and outgoing. In short
    doses, she's probably great fun.

evile: However, when she comes over to your house and spends 2-4
hours talking nonstop and doesn't even pretend to be interested in
what you think or who you are...it gets tiresome.

SkyeDS: would surmise then that your mom has not been that exposed to
her , didn't notice, or is impervious

evile: Mom has met her in a party context, which I think she is good
at. And they've talked on the phone. maybe {Rubber Pig}'s better on the
    phone.

    SkyeDS: no tellin

evile: And maybe she's just been nervous around me and therefore too
    talkative. Maybe she gets better.

evile: I'm really a very mean, judgemental, stubborn bitch

SkyeDS: next weekend should be instructive, one way or tother

evile: But ya know...I work damned hard and my free time is precious
to me, so why should I spend it doing things I dont' want to do with
people I dont' want to see?

evile: Even if they're lovely people & whatnot...

evile: Sineater is sweet with kids, {Rubber Pig}'s kids will probably love him.

    SkyeDS: /me ods

evile: And you'll have an out if she tries to corner you and yap at
you for too long "oops, gotta check the
    horse/bird/water/saddle/whatever"

    SkyeDS: zactly

    evile: yup.

    SkyeDS: I like parks

SkyeDS: I can just ride away

    evile: heh.

    SkyeDS: from whomever

    evile: yup.

evile: Hopefully the weather will cooperate. It usually rains on
    easter.

SkyeDS: Joanie thought I would just drive off and leave the horses
and the bird in the park with her

    evile: WTF!!?

    SkyeDS: lol

SkyeDS: no, I don't think so

SkyeDS: you can have Sineater, but I'm not leaving them

evile: Even if she did have clue 1 how to manage 3 animals, she's not
big enough or healthy enough to do what needs to be done.

    SkyeDS: let me revise

SkyeDS: wanted me to leave her & Sineater with them

    evile: aha.

SkyeDS: but Sineater doesn't need to handle all three by himself either

    evile: nope.

SkyeDS: neither of us handles all 3 alone

    evile: exactly.

SkyeDS: she wanted me to leave them in the park with them becaue I
told her that she wouldn't be comfortable going to dinner with my HPS
    friend

    evile: oh.

SkyeDS: so I said, you two stay here if you want to, but load the
chilldren up because I'm taking them with me

SkyeDS: I was'tn about to drop the trailer and just leave

    evile: nope.

SkyeDS: ad Sineater did'nt want to stay in the park with his mother

    evile: too bad.

SkyeDS: it would have been completely untenable for her to come with
    us

SkyeDS: I wasn't even sure if it was ok for Sineater to come with us
    until we got there

SkyeDS: I knew we were going to talk shop, and some shop talk can't
    be shared

    evile: yup.

evile: I should have just called in sick today...I am not getting
    jack done.

SkyeDS: I have half the day to myself. Hugh is at a hearing.

evile: Nice chance for you to catch up on mundane tasks that he
doesn't need to bother his head about, I guess.

SkyeDS: wish I were outside :(

SkyeDS: for like the whole week

evile: It was nice this a.m. I was outside waiting for the bus for
about 1/2 an hour after the lease car went byebye.

    SkyeDS: everything tur nout ok?

evile: super easy. The guy was half an hour EARLY, I signed some
paperwork, got my copy, and that was it.

    SkyeDS: great :)

evile: I plan on writing a nice note to the tow truck co. to let them
know I appreciate that level of service.

SkyeDS: I have to deliver something by hand today

SkyeDS: woder if I ca talk him innto letting me leave early enough to
    hit the bank too

evile: He seems pretty easygoing about stuff like that.

SkyeDS: I have never worked for someone so easygoing in my life

SkyeDS: but he can outcuss a sailor

evile: heh. That would be funny to watch/hear

SkyeDS: and is easily upset (but not by me)

evile: tha's good. (not being upset by you, anyway. )

SkyeDS: I just have to stay calm when something upsets him, for his
    sake

SkyeDS: like this morning when he couldn'nt find a file he had last

evile: yeah. It's always good to stay level headed when other people
are freaking out. If you can. It's a good quality to have.

SkyeDS: it is the legal secretary's job

SkyeDS: to be calm cool collected

SkyeDS: quiet dignified graceful and serene

    SkyeDS: at all times

    evile: heh.

evile: I'm afraid I'd need too many drugs to be qualified for a job
    like that.

evile: Though I did OK as a service dispatcher. And that was pretty
high pressure/panic mode a lot of times.

    SkyeDS: I don't necessarily achieve perfection ;)

evile: nobody ever does. That's what being human is all about--
    fucking up...

evile: learning from mistakes, trying to be a better human...or at
least have more interesting, different, and larger fuckups.

    SkyeDS: yep

evile: A friend of mine told me that the main thing about growing up
is your mistakes become more expensive. sad but true

evile: [brother A] left his San Antonio # on the machine at home. I think
I'll email that to Sineater and let him take it from there, get out of
    the middle.

    SkyeDS: good idea :)

evile: And Its probably too late, but I really ought to NOT poison
people against {Rubber Pig} by stating my opinions before they have a chance
to meet her and decide for themselves what to think of her.

    evile: hi you!
    SkyeDS: howdy :)
SkyeDS: just finished set up on this box sineater fixed for Hugh
SkyeDS: had to set up the hardware
    SkyeDS: set up the software
SkyeDS: configure it on the network (fun)
    evile: sounds like a riot.
SkyeDS: adn then tranfer files and redownload trillian and adobe
    evile: what fun!
evile: I wish I had trillian. Can't download onto the work machine &
    my
machine at home won't have anything to do with it.
SkyeDS: it crashes machines that don't have enough resources regularly
    evile: yup.
evile: I dont' chat enough at home to make it worth fussing with.
SkyeDS: sigh - this gets tiresome
    evile: connection still goofy?
SkyeDS: this time Hugh's puter decided to just reboot itself
SkyeDS: I might ought to talk him into letting sineater overhaul that one
    too.
    evile: yuck
SkyeDS: so what have you and Jinx come up with about the whole PtA
    and the
    money?
    evile: Nope.
SkyeDS: nope = nothing I take it.
evile: we were talking about musical instruments, Goliath, and the
Incorporating thing, which Andy had researched extensively and
    decided not
    to do.
    SkyeDS: /me shrugs
SkyeDS: if they're going to hold CR events
SkyeDS: the kingdoms have to play nice in the sandbox together
SkyeDS: somebody has to be in charge of the money
evile: I agree 1000% that PtA should be held responsible for losing
    CRW
money...but I worry that it may end up looking like a personal
    vendetta,
    Sharjinka vs Pat.
SkyeDS: that's the way that works, ya know?
SkyeDS: you mean he hasn't refunded it yet? I thought he was paying
    it back
out of his own pocket, as he shoudl, since his bank lost it in the
    first
    place
evile: as far as Jinx knows, he hasn't done anything.
SkyeDS: well, he managed to start a flame war with Katy of all people
SkyeDS: so he would go to war with anyone and he already went to war
    with
    Jinx as you probably knnow
    evile: stupid move
SkyeDS: even I know it's politically stupid to start an open flame
    war with
Katy, that's like attacking Mary Poppins or Mother Theresa
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: if my browser weren't being so stupid right now I'd go out to
    Chaos
and check what was said about what he did
evile: It's down, last I checked.
SkyeDS: it's down half the time I try it
evile: If I wanted the current state of CRW financials, I'd probably
    ask the
current organizer, rather than try to get a straight answer out of
    Pat or an
    unbiased one out of Sharjinka.
SkyeDS: this is the whole problem
SkyeDS: nobody trusts anybody else with Central Leadership
SkyeDS: they want to act like tribal Celts
SkyeDS: and then they complain that the SCA gets the luxuries of the
    Roman
Empire. Well, that would be because the SCA is Centrally Organized.
    It has
money, insurance, vendors including campgrounds it does business
    with, all
because it can, because of central organization.
SkyeDS: if the HFS would get their collective shits together, they
    could
choose someone trustworthy to steward the money for CRW every year
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: according to Katy the first CRWS were Drandmir hosted anyway
SkyeDS: so I don't understand why that changed.
evile: Maybe whoever in Drandmir got tired of the bitching
    ungratefulness of
    it all...
SkyeDS: I know they lost the grounds they preferred
SkyeDS: but I don'tn know how the decision came to pass CRW from
    Kingdom to
    Kingdom every year
SkyeDS: and why should it be any harder than any other event?
    evile: No telling.
evile: I don't think it's a very large group that wants
    unity/incorporation.
If the majority wanted it, it's possible that it would have happened
    by now.
Some very few really want it, a few others may think it's cool, and
    the rest
are largely indifferent & just want to whack each other with stuff.
SkyeDS: I don't like the Austin SCA
SkyeDS: but the other SCA groups I've met I do like
SkyeDS: for the most part (I still think that Seawinds woman was too
officious for her ow nsnooty good)
evile: I liked the San Antonio SCA, but I was too young to join when I
    wanted to.
evile: some people just take their fun too seriously :P
SkyeDS: Temple SCA is talking about having a booth at Tablerock this
    year
    SkyeDS: I can't believe they haven't already
evile: Tablerock is dinky, but pretty neat.
SkyeDS: if they set up a booth as opposed to go as patrons, it's
    better for
    me
SkyeDS: more itneresting anyway, can take the children
evile: SCA is good in that it already has equestrian stuff in
place/events/costumes etc. and you aren't having to try and make a
    place for
    'em.
    SkyeDS: zactly :)
evile: That's a very good thing.
SkyeDS: I'm looking forward to learning the equestrian games
    evile: I've only seen pictures.
evile: I forgot to tell you yesterday: Aunt L and Uncle B met [brother A]'s
    fiancee's kids
on Sunday. I dodged the bullet for us meeting them yet again :P If I
    keep it
up we may not have to see them until the wedding in July!
evile: L. made some noises about this upcoming weekend and 'do you
    know if
sineater has plans?' and I was all llike "oh, NO, we're ALL verryyy busy
    this
    weekend!"
SkyeDS: we were just going to go to the nursery assuming the invite
    was
still good and put up fence
SkyeDS: so if you wanted to go we would go with
SkyeDS: but if you do'tn want, we won't either
evile: absolutely NOT. We are busy!!!
evile: Saturday is Rio's Bday and Spamarama, and Sunday...is more
    Rio's
    Bday, I think.
SkyeDS: lol my birthday was always a week longn when I was a kid
evile: Trust me....we do not want to meet the spawn of satan. satan
    herself
    was bad enough.
SkyeDS: I didn't get expensive presents, I got a few little things
    but I got
to invite one friend to go camping and skiing for a week
SkyeDS: beats the few lousy parties I remember having
evile: I remember very few bdays. adults make a big deal, I think
    most kids
    could really care less
SkyeDS: much more fun to celebrate for a few days and not just one
    evile: I think so.
SkyeDS: so I probably shouldn't tell L. that she could brig the
    kids out
    to my place either
SkyeDS: do you think she'll call sineater?
SkyeDS: should I call him and let him know what not to say?
evile: She might. It's totally y'alls call if you want to hang out. I
    told
her you were clearing land this weekend & that it might take more
    than one
    weekend to finish.
    SkyeDS: /me nods
SkyeDS: they could ride and such while we were working but someone
    will have
    to supervise them
SkyeDS: and it might not always be me.
evile: Aunt L. says [brother A] is good with the kids (of course) and that they
    are
absolutely *desperate* for attention, but "very sweet". And The Rubber Pig
    isn't "as
    bad" when they're around.
SkyeDS: I want to burn this weekend if we cann
evile: I've had my stint playing 'auntE' and it got me nothing but
    pooped
on, so I'm done with that phase of existence.
SkyeDS: I take it the wedding is in SA and they've moved there
    permanently
    evile: yup
    SkyeDS: well that's ok
evile: [brother A] still isn't working. Her husband is sleeping on the couch
    (and
paying all the bills!) and they are in one bedroom and all 3 kids
    are in
    the other one.
SkyeDS: if sineater and I can invite ourselves along when you trek down
    that way
    to visit
SkyeDS: I can'nt imagine sharing a room with my little brother, much
    less
    more than one.
evile: Snowballs will fly in hell the day that happens, my love.
evile: I absolutely will NOT be visiting them in San Antonio. I will
    go to
the wedding if I get an invitation, but that's it.
SkyeDS: will they be visiting in Austin?
SkyeDS: I"m just trying to figure out how sineater will spend time with
    his
    little brother in future.
evile: They were up this past weekend, but didn't give advance notice
sufficient to allow me to make plans (I had already planned Excalibur
    for
SAturday and sweetie had an invitation for Sunday that he'd already
    accepted)
evile: sineater ...if it is important to him...will find a way.
evile: Likewise, [brother A] will have to find a way if he wants to keep
    ties with
family. If not, oh well. I have gotten tired of chasing the people I
    love
with my stupid heart on my stupid sleeve. After a while you have to
    say
"well, obviously I am not as important to them as t hey are to me,"
    and give
    up.
SkyeDS: we're down to one vehicle too now, was why I was pondering
evile: If you don't give up gracefully when it becomes obvious that
    you
aren't cared for as deeply as you care, you will end up in a sitch
    like me
and X and you will end up feeling (and being) used.
SkyeDS: the black truck has to be fixed before it makes trips more
    than 10
    miles from home
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: so we have to coordinate schedules where we didn't have to
    before
SkyeDS: something I'm hoping J[MIL] for example understands
evile: I'm sure we can work out a carpool/caravan in time for the
    wedding.
SkyeDS: pretty much what I've told everyone in general is, we're
    captive but
ya'll are welcome to come keep us company while we work
SkyeDS: regarding the past few and few upcoming weekends
    evile: good plan.
SkyeDS: exactly when and where is spamarama?
evile: April 3. I have no idea other than that.
SkyeDS: I keep thinking waterloo, don't know why
evile: I'm sure there will be something in the Statesman or Chronicle
    this
    week.
evile: It's been at the austin music hall (?) and auditorium shores
    in the
    past.
evile: After the 31st I won't be driving anymore, so I don't have to
    knwo
    where anything is. :P
SkyeDS: Hugh keeps thinking it's not the 3d but the next weekend
    evile: Nope.
    SkyeDS: I's told him
evile: April 3. The rain date may be the following weekend, and it
    does look
    as if it will rain.
evile: The Rubber Pig's kids trashed L's house, BTW. I keep telling her
    they need
to just meet [brother A], The Rubber Pig & spawn at a park or something so they won't
    have
    to have themwrecking their home.
evile: And then there's a natural 'out'--"I've gotten too many bug
    bites,
time to go" or "ooh, sunburn, gotta go"
SkyeDS: I would think that one would wear out one's welcome quickly
    trashing
    the home of the host
evile: "Oh, they're just kids," said L.
evile: She is a lot more of a 'breeder pleaser' than I am.
SkyeDS: I guess I would have to see what "trashed" was (given the
    usual
state of my house :( )
SkyeDS: didn't go to SCA last night
evile: Oh, probably nothing major. L&B keep a box of toys for kid
    visitors,
so those probably got scattered hither & yon, pillows got dumped off
    the
    couch, that kind of thing.
SkyeDS: busted butt to get home and get loaded
SkyeDS: and Kelly called close to nervous breakdow
    evile: ooh, yuck.
SkyeDS: she's been broken into twice in the last two weeks
    evile: wow, that SUCKS!
SkyeDS: the man she wants to date said he would "think about it if
    she'd get
her tubes tied back and give her kids over to their dads"
    evile: oh FUCK HIM!!!
SkyeDS: and, she hadn't slept or eate in 49 hours
SkyeDS: so for their safety she was actually considering it
SkyeDS: I talked with her for an hour and a half and I think we're on
    track
    now
evile: What a jerk. I'd say "I'll think about it if you'll tie your
    dick to
the bumper of my car and let me take a drive..."
SkyeDS: will have to check on her sometime today
SkyeDS: going to drop sineater over there at least one day this week, the
    whole
    day
    evile: good plan.
SkyeDS: insurance doesn't want to pay her for personal belongings
SkyeDS: I dont' have time to go over there during the workday to
    straighten
    that out
SkyeDS: but I knonw sineater saw me do it enough he should be able to do
    it
evile: And the breeders say the CF are selfish. "I wont' raise your
    existing
children, I wnat you to have MY spermtrophies"...asshole
SkyeDS: if she weren't close to breakdown she would have killed him
    SkyeDS: I firmly believe
    evile: Yeah.
SkyeDS: I told her, ok. here's our theory.
SkyeDS: we know that we're facing more bugs than we can kill at once
SkyeDS: ad onen of these bugs, one day, might kill us
SkyeDS: but it ain't gonna be the motherfucker that we just shot
SkyeDS: so we're going to shoot one MF at a time
SkyeDS: and not worry about the rest
    evile: good theory
SkyeDS: so the to do list looked like this:
    SkyeDS: 1. eat
    SkyeDS: 2. sleep
    SkyeDS: 3. finish work week
SkyeDS: 4. let sineater and/or Jinx (who's been through the same thing)
    help
    deal with ins co
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: 5. worry about safety proofing the house or moving, when you
    can
    figure out how
SkyeDS: and then tell mr. give up your kids
    SkyeDS: this is my list
SkyeDS: do you see yourself on it?
    SkyeDS: no?
SkyeDS: this is my problem list
SkyeDS: so, you are either a problem or a solution
SkyeDS: if you wish to be a problem, you will have to go on the
    bottom of
the list and it will be a while before I have time for you
SkyeDS: if you want to help be part of the solution, thenn I have
    time for
    you right now
SkyeDS: but I told her, I don't think the naked male insecurity game
    is fun,
even when I have time ad energy for it, and she doesn't have either.
    evile: nope.
    SkyeDS: "but he's just scared"
    SkyeDS: awwwww
SkyeDS: he'll have to find some other skirts to hide behind while
    you're
    fighting real mosters then
evile: Im not as nice to you, I'd kick his ass to the curb somewhere
    between
    step 3 and step 4.
SkyeDS: if he keeps this up I have no doubt she'll do exactly that
    evile: hope so.
SkyeDS: if she weren't scared, sleep and food deprived, he'd already
    be gone
    and/or dead
    evile: yup.
    SkyeDS: gsp
    SkyeDS: lol typo
evile: I just figured it was another mysterious TLA
SkyeDS: still getting used to this keyboard
    evile: it happens.
evile: Is she on good terms with any of her exes? Someone who would be
willing to help for the sake of the kids?
    SkyeDS: bk
evile: good. I thought it was me. Internet is being goofy over here.
evile: My launchcast went dead :(
SkyeDS: /me brutally assaults both our internet services
SkyeDS: didn't accomplsih anything but I feel better (not really) lol
    evile: very annoying.
evile: Looks like the only way to fix mineis to reboot and I'm on
    aroll with
work and I dont' want to do that!
evile: I am probably going to end up wussing out on Sharjinka at skate
    night.
I'm so damn tired. I'll go and probably won't even make it a half hour
before I"m ready to go to bed!
    SkyeDS: I would go
SkyeDS: but most things on work nights just aren't doable for me
    because of
    the commute
evile: yeah. that's a long drive home.
evile: sweetie is picking up an offer afte rwork today. He thinks it will
    be a
better fit, both in duties and $
    SkyeDS: same co?
    evile: yes. silly.
    SkyeDS: well I figured
evile: I miss out on a lot of nuances of this kind of thing because
    I've
never had a dick to wave...
evile: but apparently sweetie won the penis contest & got a nicer job for
    it.
SkyeDS: wonder if they have anything for sineater.
SkyeDS: like the lesser of the two jobs or whatever
    evile: *shrugs*
evile: I think the company is called Web Access or Web Excess or
    WebXS or
    some something like that.
SkyeDS: sounds like one of the entities that sineater was doing part time
    server
    stuff for
evile: you know how geek companies like to Spel kre8ively
SkyeDS: my mom sent me funny pics this morning
SkyeDS: I should send them to you
    SkyeDS: re creative spellings etc
evile: My favorite claimant name so far this week was Event Orange.
evile: One of the guys we met at the cookout we went to on Sun. was
    an L3 at
Dell. He got a job supervising L3s so there will be an L3 opening...
SkyeDS: sineater was an l2 when he got laid off
SkyeDS: don't know if they'd give him l3 or not
evile: Well, he could try for that, or its possible that Dell could
    promote
from within and create a spot among the L2s...
SkyeDS: dell doesn't do him any good till midmay
SkyeDS: because of that spherion crap
evile: oh, yuck. he can't even apply for a FT permanent job in Dell
    that is
    not through Spherion at all?
SkyeDS: not until his downtime is done
SkyeDS: can't work at dell, at all
SkyeDS: don't understand that myself but there it is
    evile: tht sucks!!
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: If I were him I wouldn't want to work for Dell too much after
    all the
crap they've put him through. But a job's a job...
    SkyeDS: exactly
SkyeDS: he has been putting off applying for something permanent back
    in
    tech support
SkyeDS: where Mike went back and could get him in
SkyeDS: so we had a discussion about it
SkyeDS: I said look, I don't like working in Austin for $12 an hour
    either
    SkyeDS: but I'm doing it
SkyeDS: and didn't like beig a security guard for $8, even less
evile: It's better than nothing, at least until something better comes
    along.
SkyeDS: our financial situation does notn allow for "I'd rather not"
SkyeDS: in no way shape or form
SkyeDS: I would be substitute teaching or working at McDonald's if I
    had to
    be
    evile: yup. family comes first.
    SkyeDS: brb
SkyeDS: hugs if you aren't here when I get back, got to spend some
    time in
    de liberry
    evile: Okeydoke. have fun!

    SkyeDS: bk
SkyeDS: didn't take as long as I thought it might
evile: hey. I rebooted & all is well. Music again!
SkyeDS: I haven't tried da musik yet on this box
evile: I don't think you have to download anything. If I did, I
    didn't know abou t it.
SkyeDS: I'm not sure I have speakers
SkyeDS: I mean, I know I don't have visible speakers
    evile: oh...that might be a problem :P
evile: our machines came wiht speakers and we all had to unplug them
to keep from annoying ourselves & everyone around us with all the
pings and beeps these things make.
SkyeDS: I have a place to plug in headphones
    SkyeDS: that could be good
SkyeDS: will ask sineater if we have any that are compatible
evile: I love my headphones. Could not maintain even a semblance of
    sanity here without them.
evile: When I leave them off, I hear unpleasant things about rectal
bleeding and sewing someone shut so their unborn baby doesn't fall
out. I have learned my lesson!
    SkyeDS: omfg
evile: Of course, now people have to come to my cubicle and scream at
me if they want to get my attention, but oh well. If you can't be
bothered to know what is appropriate workplace conversation, I won't
    bother with you.
SkyeDS: have had my collar off most of today, woohoo
    evile: awesome ;)
evile: woohoo, I just got phone duty for tomorrow. I'll be able to go
    home a bit after 3 :)
    SkyeDS: /me looks envious
SkyeDS: such a pretty day out too
    SkyeDS: would rather be riding
evile: phone duty sucks, but I do want to be able to spend time
before all these storms get in.
evile: Poly dinner tomorrow is at Wanfu2 on Barton Springs road. I
was thinking I could drive down early & get a walk in the park before
    dinner.
SkyeDS: I want to take a walk <whine> like right now
evile: I'm done at 4:23 today. Want me to come kidnap you for a walk?
SkyeDS: that would be nice :)
evile: Okeydoke. I'll come over as soon as I clock out :)
    SkyeDS: cooless
SkyeDS: Hugh went to the Y today
SkyeDS: but can I ask him if he'd like to go for a walk anyway?
SkyeDS: he'll probably say no anyway
    evile: sure :)
evile: speaking of, I should make my rounds & toss papers
    SkyeDS: tay
evile: see ya in a few :)
    SkyeDS: :)

Did I catch her goofing off at work? Did I catch her at home when she
said she was working MWF until 8 pm, or what?

    hmm

evile: howdy! Did you finally get a 'puter at the office?
SkyeDS: yep slow brb still working on it

evile: howdy! Did you finally get a 'puter at the office?
SkyeDS: yep slow brb still working on it
    evile: rehi!
    SkyeDS: ah happiness
    evile: all working now?
SkyeDS: seems to be, so far so good
    evile: good deal.
evile: Did y'all go to dinner on Sunday evening? I tried to call
sonar0m' cell, but got his dad. ACK!
SkyeDS: his dad has the cell most of the time now (damned
    inconvenient)
SkyeDS: we were in San Antonio until past midnight, got home around
2:30. went to dinner at ryan's and then moved to denny's when they
    closed
evile: no shit. I felt like a moron. I probably gave him some info he
could use against sonar0m, but I tried not to.
SkyeDS: and of course my isp was down and I got your email too late
    to respond timely
    evile: suck! Sorry about that!
evile: I didn't go to the meeting last night. I was too tired & it
was rainy & yucky out. I didn't feel like going alone and putting up
    iwth crap weather.
evile: And I didn't go to skate night because of my 'friend' jeff who
creeps me out. so...it was a total loser night at home for me.
    SkyeDS: :(
    evile: Oh well.
SkyeDS: what possible information could M's dad use against him
in "is sonar0m here, no? thank you goodbye"
evile: I was stupid (oh, quelle surprise!) and when the dad asked "Is
there anything I can help you with" I said "Oh, I was just calling to
see if he was on his way to dinner with the High Fantasy folks, and I
don't guess you know if he is or not" and he said something like "no,
I wouldn't know anything about that"....
SkyeDS: we need to acquire a cellphone soon
evile: Possibly to my credit, I didn't mention that M. was with You,
and I did not mention that he was in San Antonio. So...
SkyeDS: the acquisition of the new land is stretching finances quite
    thin
    evile: I'm sure.
SkyeDS: that and of course paying off the transmission
evile: yup. That was a really suck thing. But...at least you were in
a safe place when it happened, and not halfway between hell and gone.
evile: I tried to give sonar0m a heads-up on the phone thing, but I
couldn't find an email address for him among all the hfs yahoo groups.
evile: Are you on the Voyagers yahoo group? Kind of a GWNN-subset?

she keeps going offline or 'na'. what's up with that? I guess this is
back to the non confrontational BS crap where she ignores me rather
than tells me what's bothering her or what horrible sin I've
    committed now.
    Oh well.

evile: we having a Mercury Retrograde ? :P
SkyeDS: no, we're having problems with the host computer lol
    evile: looks like!
SkyeDS: every time Hugh's computer crashes he has to reboot and I
    lose my connection
    evile: crap!
SkyeDS: I've heard of Voyagers but I don't know what they are/do
evile: They're kind of an 'intro group' for people who are curious
but haven't done much RL yet. Or at least that's what they're
supposed to be. It seems to have solidified into an 'in' crowd that
has made at least one newcomer (me) feel unwelcome. But...this
month's topic is of interest so I may try to go even if they dont'
    really want newbies there anymore.
    evile: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Austin_Voyagers/
SkyeDS: I know intellectually that groups, whoever they are, function
in a certain way inherent to the nature of the beast
SkyeDS: but I'm hoping that for example the little SCA group, which
literally is an extended family largely
SkyeDS: won't manifest the same problems as drandmir and now barad
    duin
evile: smaller groups tend to be easier to manage & don't develop the
    in crowd/out crowd thing
    SkyeDS: it was kinda cool
SkyeDS: monday night I was loaded up and about to head to the park
SkyeDS: when two vehicles came up the driveway, and everyone from the
    park piled out.
SkyeDS: what's voyagers doing this month that is interesting?
evile: a demo on sensual massage, byo towels & oils. :)
    SkyeDS: oh yeah
    SkyeDS: definitely should attend
evile: Ladydreamtime's lending me a partner, so I even have someone to play
    with.
evile: Poly people are so handy like that :P
SkyeDS: I should know better than to ask, because all I do anymore
    just about is work
SkyeDS: but when and where is it?
    evile: It's 7pm Saturday, at P & J's house. I don't have
directions but I have politely RSVP'ed as instructed & hopefully will
    have direx soon.
SkyeDS: I'm not an official member of gwnn, could I still go?
evile: I don't see why not.
evile: Kaleon's on the Voyagers yahoo group, he may have attended a
voyagers party and even have directions to the location & stuff.
SkyeDS: I haven't spoken to him nor he to me since the last fallout
    evile: bummer.
SkyeDS: and I was advised by both sonar0m and sineater that until he msgs me, I
    shouldn't waste effort on him
evile: Hell, I wouldn't even waste effort on him after he made the
first move. But I'm mean like that.
SkyeDS: I'm sure he thinks I'm mean
SkyeDS: but he did the usual
    SkyeDS: completely fabricated shit
SkyeDS: got more emotional than the hottest headed thoroughbred
SkyeDS: and I just kept quietly responding, I'm sorry you feel that
way. I did not do/say that. I'm not responsible for your feelings."
evile: You know...he has such a big problem with you being poly...why
doesn't he just go find himself a nice monogamous girl and settle
down instead of putting everyone through all this nonsense?
SkyeDS: because, his favorite game is you did/said something, and I'm
    emotional about it.
SkyeDS: and "no, I did not do/say that"
SkyeDS: only draws a response of "well I feel like you did"
SkyeDS: so he can play the "don't invalidate my feelings" card
SkyeDS: and I have started quietly replying, well, I'm sorry yo u
feel that way, but I'm not responsible for your feelings.
SkyeDS: to which he said if you loved me you would care about my
    feelings
    SkyeDS: and I walked out
SkyeDS: and he hasn't emailed or called or msged since then, so I
    haven't either.
evile: I have put up with plenty of nonsense from various pets in the
past, but you gotta draw a line somewhere. The constant drama gets
old and doesn't seem to have any kind of healing outcome or
    resolution.
SkyeDS: you wouldn't believe the drama this last time
SkyeDS: which is the reason I haven't even worried about it
SkyeDS: I hardly have time anymore
evile: well, duh. :) I *Know* you have plenty of irons in the fire
    right now.
SkyeDS: I bend over backwards for him, and he doesn't seem to notice
much less appreciate, and then he completely fabricates things so he
can get all hotheaded. well, enjoy being hotheaded, because frankly
my dear, I just don't give a damn anymore
SkyeDS: when you're done being hotheaded, I'll start letting you know
where I am and when, and if you want to join me you can.
SkyeDS: but I am not going to his house alone anymore
    SkyeDS: maybe not ever again
    evile: smart move.
SkyeDS: and if he doesn't want to come to mine because he can't be
bothered to keep his car maintained or because sineater makes him
    uncomfortable, oh well.
SkyeDS: and if he doesn't like my friends and for whatever reason
(hurtful to my feelings) he doesn't want to include/invite me to meet
    his, oh well.
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I just live too damn far away to make effort to rearrange my
schedule, and inherently by doing so, M & E's, drive an hour to see
him, have him go off on me, and drive back home at 5 am on a work
    night.
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: thereby upsetting of course sineater and Arthur, because ther eis
no way to get in the house and go to bed without waking them up
SkyeDS: whole bedsharing thing ya know
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I will find their webpage or whatever and get details and
rsvp and all that good stuff
evile: I'm shopping all day Sat. w/aunt L, but hopefully should be done
in plenty of time to get to the party on time.
SkyeDS: and if he's there he is, and if not...but I don't think he
will be, but I don't care if I sound mean, but I really don't care
    either way
evile: As far as I know, kaleon came to a couple of munches early on
but hasn't been to any of the play parties or anything. Odds are good
    he won't show.
SkyeDS: I will probably have bird and horses in tow, it's certainly
late enough to be after the park, but depending on how long it is,
the horses and bird can stay parked for a while, they're used to it
evile: May want to check with the hosts to make sure it's cool to
leave 'em parked outside. Apparently this is a new house & new
neighbors & they're trying to start off on the right foot with them.
    SkyeDS: ah...house...nods...different parking situation
SkyeDS: going to be interesting if the neighbors notice parties with
    people dressed...interestingly...
evile: yeah, out at the play party location, there are a bazillion
horse trailers (empty), so no biggie.
SkyeDS: I'm kind of tired of being hidebound to the park anyway
SkyeDS: I intend to leave BD as soon as Kathleen's reign is over
evile: In a neighborhood it's a little different. In *my*
neighborhood, your children would probably be taken for joyrides by
    hoodlums.
SkyeDS: hoodlum gets hold of Jezebel, Jezebel declares war on him, he
gets hurt, and I probably get sued and lose.
evile: yup. The other night Sweetie & I were coming back from dinner &
saw a local hoodie child trying the doors on his Trooper, parked in
the street in front of the house. hoodie child almost lost fingers &
    toes.
    SkyeDS: almost?
evile: real close, but Sweetie didn't actually hit im with the VW.
SkyeDS: lol why the hell not
evile: Probably didn't want to ding the car.
SkyeDS: hoodle run away before cops were called I suppose
evile: oh, he was gone the second we pulled up.
SkyeDS: what a reassuring thing to come home to.
    evile: no shit right?
SkyeDS: Connie and I would be perfectly happy now if we could just
get rid of neighbor Uncle Levi
SkyeDS: but then you never know what might wander in off the highway
    either
    evile: true.
SkyeDS: and none of my male acquaintances want me to have a H&K MP5
    for home protection
    SkyeDS: (a lovely submachine gun)
SkyeDS: you would look lovely accessorized with a pair of Glocks ya
know (scary thought to everyone else of course)
evile: I wasn't raised to be comfortable around guns. my mom was a
    hippie, ya know.
SkyeDS: you have too many vehicles to put them all in the garage, so
    dunno what to do
SkyeDS: and home security systems are not cheap nor even effective
    all the time
evile: Every once in a while Sweetie gets a wild hair and goes looking
for storage space/garage for them. Once my wagon is gone, at least
everyone will have room in hte driveway.
SkyeDS: brb, got to fax something (which means disconnecting and
reconnecting because the fax and isp are on the same line)
    evile: ok

    SkyeDS: bk
    evile: wb :)
SkyeDS: you could park them with us but of course we are 60 miles
    away.
SkyeDS: pro/con - free vs not free, distance vs. close, etc
    evile: yup.
evile: I think ideally he'd like a multi-car garage (like an old
service station or something) close to home.
evile: 2nd choice would be to get a plot of land & put a big ugly
metal building on it to put cars & junk in.
evile: I am too busy keeping my foot down on the puppy issue to fuss
much about the cars right now.
SkyeDS: Bob has his hands full with a border collie puppy
SkyeDS: there are so many breeds I love, big, little, indoor and out,
I wouldn't know where to start with puppybuying/stray adopting-
    rescuing process
evile: Dogs are great, but they're a lot of work. And they do need
people to be at home more than sweetoe & I would be.
SkyeDS: well if he keeps coming home to hoodles messing with his
cars, I imagine he'll get motivated on his own.
SkyeDS: but ya'll are more than welcome to park at our place
SkyeDS: and of course park yourselves any time too (but the house
isn't clean yet, but if that doesn't bother you)
evile: thanks :) I'll let him know :)
evile: (obviously you haven't seen our house lately.)
SkyeDS: it's going to take a long time to get the land clean. I
haven't even managed to get my original acreage clean and now I have
    nearly four times as much.
SkyeDS: your house has never that I've seen it looked like mine on an
    average day
evile: Sweetie's sister & husband (you met them a couple of thanksgivings
ago when he was still the fiance) will be here for SXSW. The house
will be clean soon for them, I hope.
SkyeDS: when you want to come over let me know and I'll send you
    directions
SkyeDS: or if you can cut and paste I can give them now
SkyeDS: or I could email them and then you'd have them in a record of
    sorts
evile: Whichever's most convenient for you :)
SkyeDS: I felt very bad about the house when the SCA dropped in
SkyeDS: they didn't go in the house because they were visiting the
Lord Marshall's horse, but all the same, I invited them in, and was
    embarassed
SkyeDS: the girls are tickled because Mom brought them home a pretty
boy. I told them enjoy it while you can, because he's just a loaner.
evile: Yeah, when The Rubber Pit & brother A dropped by last weekend & I was sick
as a dog on the couch, I felt pretty embarassed, too.
SkyeDS: there are many ways to get to 79N from Austin
evile: In a way, it's kind of like, you show up without an
invitation, you get what you deserve. But you don't want people
thinking you're a complete slob, either...
SkyeDS: you can go up the interstate and take exit 253 (dell diamond)
and that will put you on 79
SkyeDS: you can take 290 out toward Houston and take FM 973 all the
way up to 79N. Or Hwy 95 all the way up to 79N.
SkyeDS: or you can take 290 to Parmer, and Parmer to 79N (in Hutto).
973 and 95 put you on the loop around Taylor.
SkyeDS: but regardless of how you get to 79, you take 79N to
Rockdale. There is a loop around taylor that you can take or not,
but it's less confusing to take it.
    evile: Ok
SkyeDS: and when you get close to rockdale, there is one grass
median, with a sign that says Rockdale 6 miles, and then the sign for
CR 306. Our driveway goes all t he way from CR 306 to connect with
79 where the grass median is.
SkyeDS: so what I do, because of the condition of the driveway, is to
turn around after the grass median goes away, and take the 79 driveway
SkyeDS: which has a red reflector on it
SkyeDS: (soon hopefully a ranch sign which I'm going to make out of
the old realtor's sign since he doesn't seem to want it back)
    evile: cool.
SkyeDS: I do my uturn right after the median goes away, which I'm
sure is illegal. You'd probably want to turn at the left turn lane
for 306, and rather than do 306 (we're the first driveway on the left
off 306, and there is a mailbox with our address on it there)
    evile: Ok.
SkyeDS: do a uturn from that lane.
SkyeDS: or you could just follow me home some day
SkyeDS: although everyone has used those directions quite
    successfully.
SkyeDS: it isn't polite to just show up without calling
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: but it would be nice to have home be clean enough so that you
don't feel embarassed when someone does
SkyeDS: I was quite tickled at my unexpected visitors Monday night,
    that was cool
SkyeDS: of course, I was on my way to go see them anyway, and it
    wasn't a bad time
evile: I don't even answer the door if I'm not expecting people.
evile: Unfo, brother A has a key. I will need that back from him before he
moves to San Antonio for good.
evile: I have no problem with him having access to the house, but I
don't want the Rubber Pig rummaging around in here.
evile: She doesn't seem to have any clue about socially acceptable
behavior. Did I tell you she told aunt L that she needed to paint the
    inside of her house??
evile: And she tried to tell Sweetie & I that we have foundation problems
(we do not.) and she knows this guy and she'd be happy to send him
    over, bla bla. Good lord.
SkyeDS: she told aunt L what???
evile: She said "You shouldn't be afraid of color!!"
evile: Aunt L said she liked her walls jus the way they are, thanks.
SkyeDS: no telling what she's going to think of the redneck heaven
I'm living in (which is quite lovely inside but looks like the
doublewide it is on the outside)
evile: BTW, Aunt L is throwing her a lingerie shower. If I've got to
suffer through it, you're coming too. :P
SkyeDS: if you want to add insult to injury I of course am happy to
    go wherever you lead
SkyeDS: but are you sure you want to deal with her and me at the same
time? in that we both are better in th e smallest doses possible?
evile: Well, if you've never met her, it'll be hard for us to talk
dirt abou ther, now, won't it? :P
SkyeDS: I will try very hard (I always do anyway) not to get on
nerves that will already be frayed
evile: I came about ><this close to siccing X on her. Sort of a
whole "Payback" scenario. The only thing that stopped me was that the
big confrontation would have taken place at L&B's and I wouldn't do
    that to them.
SkyeDS: I have never heard of a lingerie shower. And I can't afford
shopping for me right now much less someone else. But when is it?
SkyeDS: how would you sic X on anyone without suffering damage
    yourself.
evile: No idea. I am hoping that Aunt L was only kidding, or that this
will be one of the many things she says she's gonna do but doesn't
    get round to it.
SkyeDS: ....isn't t hat kind of like buying someone underwear...?
evile: Rubber Pig, brother A, Pigs 3 kids, Uncle Bubba, his wife Ursula, were
all going to be at L& B's for dinner Saturday. I was tempted to
write X a very tearful email telling her I feel so bad about
treating her mean & begging her to come over Saturday night and let
me make it up to her. Saturday night I was at dinner & a play
elsewhere. I'd never ever do that, but the mental picture amused me
    for hours.
evile: I have no idea what a lingerie shower is. It sounds
    unbelievably tacky, whatever it is.
evile: the Rubber Pig also told aunt L when/where she waxes her body hair AND
said she doesn't wear tacky underwaer, but then bent over for
something and showed off her thong-ed butt to god and the world.
SkyeDS: I guess it is possible to be more of a bull in the social
    china closet than I am.
SkyeDS: <still marveling at it though.
evile: I have seen you make a LOT of effort in that area, though.
the Rubber Pig doesn't seem to care that she's inappropriate and offensive and
talky. She just writes it off as 'that's just me'....
evile: Everyone has their quirks. I can be obnoxious and offensive,
too. I go into 'I'm talking and I can't shut up' mode. It happens.
SkyeDS: LOL that's a cute way to put it, never heard that one before
evile: But where you or I would recognize "gee, last time I hung out
with the polys/whatever I was obnoxious. I'll try harder this
    time"...the Pig doesn't.
SkyeDS: I could see conversations like that happening between you and
me, because we've been family a long time
SkyeDS: but I don't know Aunt L well enough to have "family"
    discussions with her
SkyeDS: and The Pig surely sure as hell hasn't known aunt L well enough
    or long enough
    evile: Exactly.
evile: On the plus side, I plan on making Hurricanes for the lingerie
    shower, if it happens :)
SkyeDS: I'm not buying a stranger lingerie
    evile: me neither.
evile: OTOH, we could go to Wal Mart and buy some size 67 grannie
    panties. That might be funny.
SkyeDS: I haven't had a chance to examine my gift closely but I have
peeked into the bag, and it all looks wonderful ty ty ty :)
SkyeDS: you would venture the evil WM? wow.
evile: cool. :) I love that brand of soap--the lavender smelled very
fresh & herbal (my favorite). I got the same brand in Sandalwood for
    me. It's yum.
evile: I'd have to go to wal mart in order to have the bag to use as
wrapping paper for the Pig's grannie panties, you see... :P
evile: 100% polyester. And maybe tie on a little tube of yeast
    infection medicine for good measure.
evile: bet you didn't know my talent for finding 'perfect' gifts had
a dark side, did you? :P
evile: I would never do that in RL, but it's funny to talk about.
    SkyeDS: igh
SkyeDS: oh well, better than no access at all I suppose
SkyeDS: what is last was said?
    evile: true enough.
I think I said I would never really do anything that awful at the Pig's
lingerie shower. But it's funny to talk about.
SkyeDS: there aren't any vanilla mundanes in your work or other
acquaintance with sprogs they would be interested in having riding
    lessons for are there?
SkyeDS: (or not vanilla/not mundanes for that matter)
evile: Not that I know of, but if you want me to print your webpage
and put it up where I can at work, I will. (break rooms & my desk,
    basically)
SkyeDS: I was wondering if I might nto ought to give you a business
    card
SkyeDS: I don't expect you to do mass marketing for me :P~~~
evile: I'd be happy to do what I can. Starting a business is tough.
marketing is very difficult. If I can help get you a customer, I
    should.
SkyeDS: the business card has my webpage on it, and the webpage has
the same information the flyer has on it, so the card should suffice,
    no?
    evile: sure :)
SkyeDS: are they any closer to her becoming a more permanent part of
    the family...?
evile: The wedding is set for July 10 in San Antonio. No word yet on
whether the divorce is final, and I haven't seen an official invite
    yet...but that's what I know.
SkyeDS: well then. guess that's that.
SkyeDS: if the situation was other than what it is, I would offer to
    play.
SkyeDS: but I doubt that would be wanted or appreciated, so I won't.
evile: I still don't know why there's such a big rush.
SkyeDS: I played at Phyl's funeral for Aeris to sing.
evile: I am not volunteering for anything, either. I sense far too
    many 'Bridezilla" tendencies there.
    SkyeDS: no thanks.
evile: I'm sure Phyl's kids & Bob were all very sweet and gracious
and didn't treat you like the hired help and diva around making your
life miserable. It's good to be open-hearted and give when you can
what you can...but not to people who are just going to suck you up
and spit you out again, ya know?
SkyeDS: specially not where my music is concerned
SkyeDS: I have a much thicker skin than I used to have, but still
    evile: exactly.
evile: Honestly, best advice I can give you re: The Rubber Pig, is not to
appear to have anything she wants/needs. Don't mention your skills &
talents because she is the kind of person who tends to assume things
    rather than ask
SkyeDS: that shouldn't be a problem
SkyeDS: my talents and skills don't seem to be immediately apparent
to most, much to my chagrin most of the time
evile: it's a fine line to walk, that whole 'hiding your light'
vs 'tooting your horn' thing. You don't want to be arrogant but you
don't want to be dismissed, either.
SkyeDS: I am in t he habit of mentioning whatever I'm capable of
contributing when the need seems to be present
SkyeDS: no need to catalog my various resumes in the meanwhile
    evile: right :)
evile: My latest talent seems to be introducing people to things they
didn't know they were interested in.
SkyeDS: it engenders a lot of "I didn't know that about you" ...
well, you never asked, or the subject never came up.
    evile: heh. Yup.
SkyeDS: that's fun though, facilitating new happiness that way, I
love that, it happens to me sometimes
SkyeDS: I am a satellite of so many different interest groups, they
blend here and there, and it's always interesting where and who
evile: it's happened to me twice in the last week, and It really has
made me feel good. Poly-group J told me he would not have joined
body choir if I had not introduced him to Z Helene & if he hadn't
taken her class. Rengeek said he had a bunch of assumptions about
Poly that I've dispersed for him & now he wants to hang out with the
    Houston polys :)
SkyeDS: Z is teaching? sigh...something else I wish I had time to
do. I have professional dancing friends --
SkyeDS: one is Acadiana who you've seen at the skating rink
SkyeDS: and the other is Tracie, sineater's friend Mike's mother, who is
also a retired pharmacist and does olympic level dressage.
evile: Z Helene has one class at ACC she teaches and then she also
has private students. About 6 of the poly group folks got together
and took private lessons from her for a couple weeks last summer.
SkyeDS: she has tapes I should ask her if I could copy, or the names
of so I can buy them
    evile: Definitely.
SkyeDS: everyone always expresses surprise that I have my fingers in
    so many pies at once
    SkyeDS: I don't know why
SkyeDS: Tracie is a pharmacist, a dressage equestrienne and a belly
    dancer
SkyeDS: most people I know are multifaceted that way, professional or
otherwise (Tracie is also a Gemini too)
evile: Oh, Poly group Z is having a 'southern living' thing next
Sunday a.m. (14th) if you're interested. Brunch and Mimosas & looking
    at girly home stuff.
    evile: (speaking of Z's)
SkyeDS: all I need now is an antebellum/victorian home, and I have
got the southern living thing down pat.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I like Jim Walter's Victorian model but there are a lot of
hate sites about JW. And since Victorian is an architectural
standard, maybe I could get similar elsewhere
SkyeDS: I would really love something that looks like the San
Francisco Marqham doll house in Hobby Lobby.
evile: I was really impressed with an architect I met at the home &
garden show on Valentines day. He works with steelframe/green
building, but a lot of his plans are very traditional-looking once he
    gets done.
SkyeDS: or, alternately, a replica of that Palladio villa (the name
eludes me at the moment) would be lovely
evile: here is the info on the Southern Living thingy:
    http://www.livejournal.com/users/ladystorm/20764.html
SkyeDS: my entire home has an energy star rating, and I spend no more
on electricity now than I used to in half the square footage, and no
more in water evne with the horses.
evile: Our bills are better in the house than they were in the duplex.
SkyeDS: your house is so beautiful, the ceiling fan in the dining
room, nice kitchen, beautiful fire place, and awesome bathroom
mirror, and the backyard on the creek.
evile: It is needing some work/help, and I'm coming to find out that
it's me or nobody whose gonna do it. That's a little disappointing,
    but oh well.
SkyeDS: Sineater tries very hard to keep the property picked up outside
    SkyeDS: but it's overwhelming
    evile: I'm sure!
SkyeDS: even moreso now that it's 11 acres and not 3
    evile: I bet.
SkyeDS: I think I may have a clean up party, invite the SCA, the HFS,
Kelly & the Kids, offer to make barbecue, order pizza, or whatever I
have to do as an incentive.
SkyeDS: I've told everyone many times that I'm happy to host outdoor
    stuff for them.
    evile: that would be good
SkyeDS: I didn't even know this until I walked the entire property
the other day for the first time, but it's bounded by a creek
    evile: awesome :)
SkyeDS: in addition to the pond, which is shallow enough through one
    end to ride through
SkyeDS: might be nice to get a canoe.
SkyeDS: too small for a sailboat
    evile: canoes are fun.
SkyeDS: if Sweetie does the fishing thing or the canoeing thing we can
    accommodate that though
SkyeDS: and the little overlook where the previous owners were
fishing would be an ideal place to camp. Electric and water included.
evile: Hm. I've never seen him. We've been tubing on the Guadalupe,
    that's about it.
SkyeDS: Randy says that the pond is clean enough to swim in. I don't
know that I would want to, but that's just me.
evile: I don't much care for still water, even if it's clean.
SkyeDS: I like pristine lakes, rivers, and pools, I'm picky
    evile: me too.
evile: There are even times I'll go to bull creek park & not swim
SkyeDS: ya'll should come out sometime when it's nice and investigate
SkyeDS: please ignore the trash sigh
evile: heh. I'll tell Sweetie he's got another place to take the vanagon
    camping :)
evile: I had a coworker get my knickers in a twist this a.m. talking
about disposing of unwanted kittens 'out on the dirt roads'...I
    just 'bout lost it.
SkyeDS: I might have killed him myself
evile: her actually. But..jeez, bad enough when people throw garbage
out on rural property, but...animals. GRR.
evile: She seemed to think it was no big thing to trash little
animals, but someone who invoked the baby moses law and left their
newborn at the fire station was just evil. WTF is wrong with people?
SkyeDS: she holds both those views?
    evile: indeed.
SkyeDS: let me guess, she's either pro euthanasia and pro life or
    vice versa (also conflicting views)
evile: I try very hard not to speak or listen to her. She just makes
    my head hurt.
    SkyeDS: aye
evile: Time to bring the voodoo powders to work again, I guess.
SkyeDS: lots of stupid clients we have too
evile: Just do the nod & smile and then talk smack about 'em later, I
    guess.
SkyeDS: the kitten killer makes me sad that his mother didn't opt for
    abortion as birth control
    evile: no crap, right?
evile: Or why not be responsible and neuter your pets if you have no
intention of taking care of the babies.
SkyeDS: Uncle Levi has two more dogs left
SkyeDS: a full pit and a half pit
SkyeDS: and one of them has mange
SkyeDS: I'm wondering if the horses could catch mange from the dog
SkyeDS: and I bet neither of them has shots
SkyeDS: and he has four trailers on one septic tank, which I'm sure
    isn't legal either
    evile: ew.
SkyeDS: I know that Connie's dogs could catch mange even if the
    horses can't
SkyeDS: I think I'll mention that to her incase she hasn't noticed
    evile: good plan.
SkyeDS: her husband is a good shot with his 3030
evile: you hate to see it come to that...but yeah.
SkyeDS: I don't want to see my friends' children tangle with a mangy
    pitbull either
    evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: and when I start giving lessons and having boarders, I can't
    have that on my property
SkyeDS: an d they don't keep him leashed
evile: You hate to see an animal suffer because of irresponsible
owners, but you've got to protect your own, too.
SkyeDS: that will mean another call to t he county
SkyeDS: connie already called them about the attacks on their dogs,
and the county said, shoot them
    evile: nice.
SkyeDS: a mangy pitbull is not an attack exactly
SkyeDS: but it is a threat
evile: especially if the owner isn't taking any responsibility.
    SkyeDS: call county
SkyeDS: look, I don't know if they've had shots, and I know the pit
    has mange
SkyeDS: you come out here and take care of it, or I will
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: every time I have to deal with Uncle Levi I get nervous about
    dead horses though
    evile: oh, very bad.
SkyeDS: even though Wayne (connie's DH) shot their healer/pit cross,
I was afraid of what they'd do if they thought it was us and we don't
    even have a gun
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: luckily he thought someone kidnapped it or the shepherd (the
    problem) got it
    evile: how awful.
SkyeDS: I will just mention to connie that something should be done
hint hint about the pit with mange, for her dogs, and my horses, and
see if wayne won't take care of it
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I didn't know mange was so zoonotic, but web search shows it
is zoonotic to both horses and humans. lovely.
evile: I knew people could get it.Didn't know about the horses. yucko.
evile: 1 hour until I am outta here!!! I need to go get info about
Krav Maga & Poly dinner's tonight, too. Can't wait to be done with
    work.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: Are your new acres fenced yet? Do you think that'd solve the
    dog problem?
SkyeDS: electric tape fence doesn't stop dogs
    evile: too bad.
SkyeDS: otherwise they wouldn't be a problem now (tape fence already
    in place)
    SkyeDS: it's very simple
SkyeDS: they keep their dogs off my place, or they don't keep their
    dogs
evile: It doesn't sound like they care about the animals or take care
of them. I hate to see stuff like that.
    SkyeDS: me too :(
evile: That's the thing about living in the country, I guess. You
have to get tough & take care of things yourself.
    SkyeDS: there aren't leash laws
SkyeDS: so if your dogs run around, we can't make you put them on a
    leash
SkyeDS: but we can keep thme off our property if you don't
    evile: yeah
evile: and if they're being neglected that badly by their owner, it
would almost be a blessing...sad to say.
SkyeDS: if we weren't dealing with pits I'd just take them to a pound
evile: I don't think they'll accept obviously diseased animals at
most shelters. I could be wrong.
    SkyeDS: no, you're probably right
evile: with the fact that mange is contagious & zoo-whatever, I doubt
it would be an acceptable risk fo rthe shelter to take them in.
SkyeDS: so there isn't really anything humane I can do
evile: Not if the owner won't take care of his own animals. No. Sad
to say, you've got to protect your own critters & family members
here, whatever it takes to do that.
evile: The fact that your neighbor is a good shot is probably the
most humane thing that can happen at this point...
    SkyeDS: :-/
evile: especially if the elected officials won't take any action.
    That's so rude, IMHO.
SkyeDS: they can only do what county law allows
evile: Would it be different if the animals were running on county-
maintained roads? Maybe you could call them while the dogs are
    running the roads or something.
SkyeDS: don't know, will ask them
evile: would be nice to see people doing work instead of just using
their titles to be assholes to you.
evile: Hey, I'm a bureaucrat, and I know that there's lots of things
that aren't my job and I'm not paid to do...but the very least I can
do when someone asks me to do something I can't do is to point them
in the right direction. Lots of people just don't seem to want to
    bother.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: Maybe all public servants just need shock collars or
something. As soon as they give 'tude for no reason or say 'it's not
my job' they get a jolt...
    SkyeDS: lol
evile: I just hate to see people being rude, nasty, and lazy on MY
dime. People should be outraged, and they just kind of shrug it off
as if it s to be expected.
evile: me, personally, I tolerate the crap in person, but then I'm
likely to write ugly letters to the guy's boss after the fact...
SkyeDS: I get very cranky very fast where my money is concerned
SkyeDS: I'm going to be doing some letter writing soon about this
    past weekend
SkyeDS: I want to know what discretionary law is, and I want the city
council an d mayor to tell me
SkyeDS: and thten I'm going to inform them that I will no longer be
spending my money in their economy
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: a conversation I will soon have with rockdale too
    SkyeDS: but even better
SkyeDS: I earn money in austin, I spend it here
evile: FWIW, I thought you did a great job of staying calm & cool on
Sunday. In your shoes, I woulda freaked.
SkyeDS: I bring in money, not only from rockdale to recirculate to
rockdale, but from anyone traveling the triangle corridors
SkyeDS: I'm a member of the chamber of commerce
SkyeDS: and the SCA which is service oriented and we do nice things
    for people
SkyeDS: so please tell the cops to leave me alone

SkyeDS: or I will take my money somewhere else
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I probably wasn't as meek as I should have been
SkyeDS: but a couple of things aggravated me greatly
SkyeDS: which is why I'm not letting it go until I write letters to
the mayor and the entire council
SkyeDS: I doubt anything will come of it but I will feel like I did a
little something at least
evile: yup
SkyeDS: the city manager needs to learn not to be so rude when
conducting city business
SkyeDS: ditto the parks manager
evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: and I'm sorry, but I've been a paralegal since 89, and Hugh a
lawyer since 77, and neither of us has ever heard of discretionary or
word of mouth code
evile: that was ridiculous.
SkyeDS: they need to put it in writing. on the web, post it in the
park, but I don't believe the administrators (and that's all those
two men are) have the authority to do what they did Sunday
evile: And could have been resolved far in advance if they'd bothered
to reply to your request, with a "no" which you could have then
accomodated or decided not to make the trip at all...
SkyeDS: exactly. I contact them by phone and in writing before I
visit, every single time
evile: That's what bugged me, it was so totally avoidable.
SkyeDS: and the police have waved at us in a friendly manner every
time they've driven past before.
SkyeDS: normally the police don't say squat if there isn't a
complaint, and there was no one in the park but us to be complaining
evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: time to go home?
evile: just about. I should go drop off papers & such.
SkyeDS: hugs
evile: Good luck with everything ;)
SkyeDS: travel safely, has been raining
evile: Yup. Maybe see ya Saturday at the voyager party?
SkyeDS: hopefully
evile: :) cool.
SkyeDS: have to see what I'll do with the children

    Mar. 1, 2004

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the big screwy dinner got
cancelled. I don't know if Uncle Bubba flaked too, but apparently
The Rubber Pig's kids were sick, bla bla. Oh well. Aunt L thinks The Pig didn't
have a big enough audience lined up, so she didn't feel like showing
up. Sweetie & I got leftover lasagne & salad stuff out of the deal, so
    that's cool.

I had an excellent Vegan meal (amazing!!) & enjoyed a very thought &
emotion provoking show at the Rhizome Collective. It was awesome. I'm
all inspired to be a Woman Warrior again. Krav Maga. Womens Self
    Defense. Raar!

I met a few nice people, & J.(curly hair, poly group) came for
the show but not the dinner, so we got to visit a little before the
show, and he said something very sweet about owing his confidence as
a dancer to me. apparently I introduced him to Z Helene, he took a
dance class from her, and now he goes to this thing called 'body
choir' which is like a aerobics/trance dance/dance therapy thing.
Some hippie dippie new age crap, but he feels like it's good for
him & enjoys it and 'owes it all to me'. I was flattered, but I did
tell him that the final push came from within, *He* is the one who
took the dance class & made the effort. It was very sweet, though.

Sunday, I had lunch w/Rio & we shopped & I got a new pair of dangly
earrings that went with my gypsy-renfaire look for the day, and Rio
got a cute black clutch purse with a red oriental dragon embroiedered
on it. Then we went with her husband & son to the HFS park & I
introduced them around to the people I knew. There was some
unpleasantness with the Live Oak cops. Apparently skye_ds had emailed
some city official to get permission to have the horses at the
park. Since he didn't reply, she went ahead and assumed the horses
would be allowed (I would have assumed the opposite, but oh well.)
The city functionary showed up and told her to leave, she said
'no', and then he called the police, who said something about a 'word
of mouth ordinance' which authorized them to tell her to get the
horses out of the park. She demanded an actual code or ordinance
number that she was violating, they continued to say 'word of mouth
ordinance' and she finally decided not to fight with them. So she
negotiated a compromise in which the horses were put in the trailer &
she and her men and the bird stayed in the park.

It was a totally manufactured drama and she enjoyed the attention &
whatnot, but to her credit she did not freak or cry or do any 'I'm a
high priestess' or even 'I'm a paralegal so I know the law' nonsense.
She did try to get sineater stirred up, but thank heaven he didn't go
    there.

What can I say, they are always taking the animals places where they
might not be welcome. Push your luck and eventually it'll break down,
    ya know?

ANYWAY, other than the stupid cop drama, the day was nice and the
park was pretty and the people were pleasant.

After Rio had a chance to say hi and bye to sineater (he was out getting
them some fast food when the cop stuff went down & he just came back
for the last of it), we took off and got ice cream.

It was a nice visit with Rio, her husband  & kiddo, anyway. He's a great kid.

    OH! Pictures:

    ========

Dreamt that I went wine tasting & Sisterdale/Sister Creek vineyards
needed a teacher, so I got the lady's card & was going to give it to
my mom. There was some other place I went, too, where they needed a
teacher & I was going to give the card to my mom.

    Me to J-Law:
    :
Well, the longer reprieve would be better, but
anything will do at this point :P

Dear Holy Ghod--Aunt L says she is throwing Rubber_pig a
    Lingerie Shower for her wedding.

I said I'm only coming if I can bring Skye_DS.

Aunt L said, in her best East Texas Hospitality voice
"Of course! After all, she IS family!"

    bwahahhah!

(btw, When Rubber_pig & Brother A visited L&B on Saturday,
    Rubber_pig was there from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and talked NONSTOP!
Aunt L was so offended! AND Rubber_pig told Aunt L she needed
to paint her walls! "Don't be afraid of color!" was
    the quote, I think--RUDE!)

Mostly I'm concerned that Rubber_pig is bringing her
kids. She says she hates all children but her own and she
talks about all the 'cute' and 'smart' things her
kids do that just sound like godawful bratty behavior to
ME. So...not excited about Friday. I did get an
adult responsibility for the first time ever--I get to
    bring vanilla ice cream :)
    ===============
    J-Law:

    This is true.

It is raining like it's going out of style here. I
got soaked to the skin on the way over. I have
literally never seen rain like this. And it was
windy, so the umbrella was totally useless. I gave
up on it and ran to work. Those miles on the
treadmill sure came in useful. :)

Unfo, didn't have that great a workout last night.
I was still kind of depressed, and then, I was a
block away from home when I realized I hadn't packed
my socks. So, I went back, got the socks, and was
almost out the door when the phone rang. I
answered, hoping it was John, and it turned out to
be Bad John, and I just felt my heart plunk down in
my stomach like a big ol' rock. I very curtly said
that I was on my way to the gym. He was all
cavalier and whatever like usual and asked me what I
was doing later, and "if I felt like it" to give him
    a call.

Quelle surprise, I didn't feel like it, so I didn't
    call.

Anyway, after we hung up, I knew I was going to cry,
so I just dropped to my knees and let 'em go. After
that, I felt sick, but went to the gym anyway. I
didn't push it - I figured I was okay with just
    going and doing something.

Got home, glugged some Gatorade, and crashed. I was
probably asleep by 8:30, and I slept all night.
Woke up feeling better, and the rain, oddly enough,
kind of cheered me up. It's still chucking it down.
I like the way it sounds, pounding on the building,
and looking up through the skylights, seeing it wash
over them in sheets. It's cool.

So. Rubber_pig is very very tactless. Definitely bring
UB. It'll be fun. Maybe it will descend into mud
    wrestling.
    =========
    me to J-Law:

I always sleep really well when it rains buckets like that. A
skylight would be cool. Maybe if I'm ever in a situation like Aunt L &
Uncle B's where they've got property and they're having something custom-
built. I was really impressed by some of the 'green builders' we met
at the house & garden show. Nice looking homes, very cool floor
    plans, etc.

John is an ass. I'm glad you went to the gym anyway. I agree that
it's most important to keep the habit of going, and just do your best
within your energy level that day. The important part is making the
time and going faithfully to engrain it into pure habit.

Rubber_pig has been warned about UB, so she will probably do her best to
thwart any efforts to get her into a screaming match. Rubber_pig doesn't
tell 1 boring old story and then pause for accolades from her adoring
audience like UB does, she just goes from one tangent to the next,
barely pausing for breath. At least with UB you could get in a word
edgewise. Sad day when you can compare two people and have UB come up
the winner as far as couth & social graces. ugh.

I don't know what I'm going to do if Rubber_pig's children misbehave on
Friday. I don't have much tolerance for genuinely well-behaved cute
kid antics, so bratty behavior that is applauded & encouraged
as 'cute' is going to be hard to ignore.

I sent creepy skate Jeff an email basically saying that I thought we
had already talked about me being 'taken'. I said I don't date and
I'm not sexually available, but I enjoy seeing people I know at Skate
Night & I enjoy hanging out with friends, so if that's OK with him
    that's OK with me.

I doubt he'll write back. I think being very blunt really puts people
off. But...it was all truthful, and if he doesn't like me saying it
    flat-out like that, too bad.

I posted this in the bratpage rants:
    ----------------------------------------------------

So, my sibling has found himself the Ultimate Moo and they're getting
married this summer (hopefully her divorce from the father of 2 of
her 3 kids will be complete by then, but hey, maybe they'll just have
a party if she can't be legally wed)

so, this woman says she hates every child but her own. WTF!?!

then she talks about her oldest being this rotten brat who will walk
up to anyone (including adults) and tell them how fat, ugly,
disgusting they are and then wave her hand in their face and tell
them they can get out of her space now. This is 'cute' and 'smart'
kid behavior these days? In my time, it would have gotten me smacked
across the face and sent to my room.

her youngest threw feces from its diaper at a fellow congretation
member in a place of worship. Aww! That's so funny! (later they found
out that the congregation member was a child abuser, and obviously
the littlest one already KNEW this, and that's why she threw the
shit! OMG, what a smart little kid!)

At any rate, this woman went on in this vein for something like 2
hours, citing many examples of what I'd consider slap-worthy child
brattiness as showing just how "cute", "funny", and "smart" (and
    obviously superior!) her crotchgoblins are.

I can't believe my brother is marrying this git. I am well & truly
appalled. (and I get to meet these little darlings on Friday. Great
    Mother give me strength!)

I'm here until 4 today, since I got in early & I'm doing 1.5 ot. And
then just a regular 8 hour day W-F. FTS! I have a life. I want to
go to Mass tomorrow evening, and then Thursday's Tina & Friday's the
    lovely dinner with Aunt L & Uncle B, Bubba & Ursula, Brother A & Rubber_pig and her 3
kids. I can't figure out what their names are. Michi and Bliss and
Tiki or Lala or something. (When I asked Sweetie if he could figure out
what their names were, he did his "Furby" voice and spouted a few
    Furbish words at me..guess not)

I am figuring that she's doing the pretentious uppercrust thing where
they're named "Barbara" and everyone calls them "Kiki" kind of crap.
Also, I think Jewish people do that too. But _real_ Jewish people,
the ones who speak Yiddish & stuff, not these crazy newfangled Jews
    for Jesus people.

Oh, and apparently she was planning on bringing "Faith" along, too.
This is apparently Rubber_pig's goddaughter or her oldest child's best
friend or something. She's apparently child of mixed race--I'm
sure that'll go over great with Uncle Bubba.

I told Brother A to keep his bucket hat on over his yarmulke and take it
off strategically after Uncle Bubba makes an anti-semitic comment.
*So* looking forward to Friday. Really.
    ========
    J-Law:

The thing about Sweetie's furby voice just cracked me up. Sounds like
you all are going to have a very interesting Friday evening.

    *hug* It's all material, honey

    Feb. 22, 2004

I've spent the weekend mostly on the couch, sleeping & snotting.
Nothing works, not nyquil, not dayquil, nothing. I'm pretty
miserable. Cough, sore throat, painful ears, headache, congestion.
    bleh!!

Brother A called around 9 this a.m. & wanted to know what I was up to. I
told him I was sick & he was all 'bummer' and then Rubber_pig did that
Skye_ds-talking-in-the-background thing. She got all het up to make me
    soup.

So Brother A was all like "well be there between 11 and noon" and I was
all hinting like hell that I was sick and didn't feel well and was in
my PJ's and sleeping and not up to company, but they came anyway.
    Sometime after 1.

Stayed till about 3:30 or so. Rubber_pig was talking about her family &
her children & the wedding & who was coming, and bla bla....it was
    not too awful, but eugh.

Anyway...now they're gone and I need cough drops.

Icq with A today

    Feb. 10, 2004

lost a bunch of it thru launchast crashing & me shutting it down
which shut down all my internet windows. foo.

We dished about Rubber_pig a bit. Skye_ds thinks Rubber_pig will not like her.
    Oh well.

Talked about v.day. (no plans yet, Kaleon doesn't want to drive to
    rockdale)

Talked about her getting more land & setting up to teach kids basic
    horse stuff.

    and that's it so far.

      Feb. 10, 2004

evile: crap. My launchcast crashed all my internet stuff.
      evile: sorry 'bout that.
      SkyeDS: np
evile: when it works, it's great.
evile: "the program is not responding. do you want to close"?
yes, but ONLY launchast, not ICQ and everything that IS working!!
      Dammit.
SkyeDS: <hands you choice of whip, frying pan, bazooka>
evile: hee. a magnet & a screwdriver ought to do nicely.
SkyeDS: <hands said objects over with alacrity>
      evile: heh. So very tempting...
evile: I guess dinner with Rubber_pig could've been worse. Earlier in the
day it was said that her kids would be joining us...
SkyeDS: how old are they? have you met them?
evile: I am trying _very_ hard to paint this in the brightest
possible shades of optimism. Oldest is 10 (proud mom carries pads in
her 'mom purse' just in case she starts her period--like I needed to
know this, but there it is), middle daughter is 5 and named Bliss,
and NOT TREYS. (conceived between the first and 2nd time she married
& divorced him), and the youngest is 'twenty months'.
SkyeDS: you couldn't write a more complicated soap opera if you tried
SkyeDS: truth is stranger than fiction and all
evile: Why do breeder women say '18 months' and '20 months' and so
forth? Why can't they just say "year and a half' 'almost 2'
SkyeDS: something I've wondered before more than once myself
evile: She told Aunt L about the middle baby not being Trey's, just
right there at dinner. So very...TMI.
SkyeDS: maybe it's some developmental thing I don't udnerstand
because I am the dirty unwashed uninitiate
evile: to motherhood? Me too, but I know you don't discuss certain
things 1) the first time you meet someone and 2) at dinner.
      SkyeDS: even I know that
evile: I still dont' get your 'uninitiate' remark...but okay.
      SkyeDS: uninitiate into motherhood
      evile: oh, gotcha.
evile: I think you should use 'months' until the kid is a year old,
then just say 'year' 'year and a half' 'almost two'...that's plenty
evile: Nobody needs to set their watches back to the second it
crawled out of yer twat, lady.
evile: (I didn't say that out loud, BTW. I -am- getting better.)
      SkyeDS: ROFL
evile: oh, and she *snorted* when she laughed. Cousin B was so irritated
      by that.
SkyeDS: B gives the impression of being refined well past his years
in an eccentric way (I know that makes no sense)
SkyeDS: worldly past his years, perhaps is better
evile: I probably just need to not worry about it. Brother A has been
unemployed for over a year. he lives in a dirty house full of slacker
boys. There really isn't a 'life' for her & her offspring to 'ruin'
      as such.
evile: B is very worldly. Worries me a lot sometimes.
SkyeDS: makes me wonder what the hell she and Trey are thinking
SkyeDS: to introduce her beloved offspring into that
evile: Yeah, if I was Trey,I'd be introducing her to a wealthy friend
in San Antonio. Brother A is sweet, loyal, loving, and he does take his
responsibilities seriously. But he is not in a stable situation in
      life.
SkyeDS: I guess he thinks he wants a readymade family
evile: I have resolved not to say ANYTHING to him, UNLESS he asks.
And then I will not say anything negative about Rubber_pig, but suggest
that it's not the best possible situation to bring another baby into.
evile: She does not seem like a bad person, just young & immature & a
little too talky. I just don't know what the big rush is as far as
      marrying and having a baby.
evile: Cousin B, Aunt L & I agreed that Thanksgiving this year will be one
of the more interesting ones :P
evile: I told her I wanted something stronger than "Golden Muskrat"
      to get me through.
SkyeDS: that approach has always worked well for me
SkyeDS: with my beloved "little sister" particularly
SkyeDS: all of her choices in men were hideous, until she found a
      good one and married him
SkyeDS: and I couldn't be happier
SkyeDS: but she would reel in a loser
evile: Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs before you get the
      prince, eh? :P
SkyeDS: and I would be asked for my opinion, so I would say, exactly
once, what I thought, as tactfully as I could manage without
      sacrificing honesty
      SkyeDS: and let it go
SkyeDS: you say something more than twice and you defeat your own
purposes and I'm not going to lose her over some fucking loser guy
evile: All of Sister H's lovers I've met so far have been lovely &
attractive, but with a few of the [her dad]-behaviors I find so
      unattractive.
evile: Luckily neither yours nor mine were entranced enough with the
frogs to make anything permanent :)
      SkyeDS: thank god/dess
evile: yup. They're smart enough to figure it out for themselves,
given enough time & proximity. Just grit your teeth & wait it out.
SkyeDS: Shannon knew what I was doing when I did it
      SkyeDS: she wasn't stupid
SkyeDS: and she let it pass
SkyeDS: and we didn't ever discuss it again
SkyeDS: and time bore me out
      evile: yup.
SkyeDS: and we never discussed that either
evile: 'told ya so' is never very productive.
SkyeDS: what I do tell her ad nauseam is how wonderful James is and
how happy I am for them both
SkyeDS: very pleasant I told you so
evile: It's nice to be able to say that :)
SkyeDS: life is more pleasant when I make an effort to make a habit
of saying nice things, I notice
      evile: yup. this is true.
SkyeDS: one of the qualities I notice in those I admire and aspire to
      emulate most
SkyeDS: is that they make everyone feel good about themselves
      consistently
      SkyeDS: gift, that, I think
evile: If you look hard enough, you can usually find at least one
nice thing to say to/about someone.
SkyeDS: if you look hard, you find whatever it is you look for
      SkyeDS: good or bad
SkyeDS: so be careful what you look for
SkyeDS: and what you wish for
SkyeDS: because I emphatically believe that there is self fulfilling
prophecy, and a certain malleability in personal reality
SkyeDS: "you're about as happy as you decide to be", I always that
that was Gramma, but now I know she got it from Abe Lincoln, lol, but
I believe that is an excellent self fulfilling prophecy type Truism.
      evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I am no longer defective, woohoo, I managed to put nine
charms on a bracelet (an accomplishment for me). Now I'm going to do
      something easy (the taxes) :)
      evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I can resist anything but temptation ;)
evile: I think I've heard that one before, too :) too true!
SkyeDS: like I dono't have craft supplies galore that I never did
anything with, I bought tassels yesterday (half price, had to, I tell
you), nine charms, a bracelet to put them on, some crystals and some
string to put them on, and several pieces to make necklaces out of
SkyeDS: and I've struggled with the charms all morning (being
      defective)
evile: The more you do it, the easier it will get. If JInx has a
craft night this week, bring your stuff over & we can play.
SkyeDS: I'm going to start trying to make craft nights once I get my
      schedule with Hugh worked out
      evile: good deal.
SkyeDS: I'm thinking about offering 30 hours a week tomorrow, 10
      hours on 3 days
SkyeDS: but Wed would be one of them, possibly
      evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: which means I wouldn't leave there till like 8 pm and not
      make Michelle's till 8:45
SkyeDS: how long do those nights last? would there still be stuff
      going on?
evile: people are usually still there at that time.
      SkyeDS: that would work then
evile: People usually stay until at least 10.
SkyeDS: that's right on my way home too
      evile: cool ;)
SkyeDS: and since the hours I'm going to offer are 9 am to 8 pm,
staying up late wouldn't be terribly problematic
SkyeDS: and he might not even want me 30 hours a week yet, but I hope
      he does
      evile: *fingers crossed*
SkyeDS: and if I can get him accustomed to that concept, maybe if he
decided he needed me full time, I could get him to agree to a 4/10
SkyeDS: and that would be very cool
      evile: very.
SkyeDS: lol I probably could have gotten something at Claire's for
same money and no effort. But I'm pleased, I know I'm easily amused.
SkyeDS: actually a friend of mine bought me a $3 bracelet she saw me
admire at Claire's, cheap but precious in its way, and I loved that
little bracelet, and then someone stole it, and I was
disproportionately heartbroken, no monetary value but a great deal of
      emotional attachment
evile: Some things are more fun when you do them yourself. Definitely
      more meaningful.
evile: I can see that. I get attached to stuff more when it was a
gift than if Id bought it myself.
SkyeDS: don't know why people are like that
evile: stealing stuff with only sentimental value? Yeah...that is a
      rotten thing to do.
SkyeDS: steal little cheap things as if they were diamond tennis
bracelets, things that don't have monetary value and no sentimental
value to anyone but one person
      SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: not only is it hurtful from an emotional standpoint, from a
logical standpoint, it's stupid, nothing to gain
      evile: yup.
evile: Jason just posted the dinner schedule for the month. Looks
like I'm skipping this weeks . Which is a bummer because I missed
      first Wednesday, too.
SkyeDS: saw Johnathan request Hao Hao. I used to eat at the one in
Dobie a lot when I was at UT. Great place.
evile: I like Jonathan. His wife is a little standoffish, but I think
      that's shy, not snobby.
SkyeDS: someone would have to connect his name with his face for me
      (as usual)
SkyeDS: haven't been able to do poly stuff since that one time
SkyeDS: and I dont' think sineater has either but I'm not sure
      evile: I think you're right--he hasn't been since that 1st Wed. ya'll
      came to CM
SkyeDS: if I work a 3/10 that includes Wed, that would make CM
      problematic
      evile: true.
SkyeDS: which is too bad because I like taking Arthur there weather
      permitting
evile: That is why they alternate Wed & Thursday nights, to give
everyone a chance to get to at least one dinner.
evile: Terri A. has a point re: same location, time, etc. being
easier to remember, but her "Let's be the Seattle Poly Group" mantra
      gets OLD quick.
SkyeDS: if Hugh isn't hidebound, I can trade Wednesday hours for
Fridays or Sundays on occasion too
evile: yup. Contractors tend to have more freedom as far as that
goes, because if Hugh chooses your hours, you can say you're his
      employee and fuck him up.
SkyeDS: to this point he has been a darling man, so I don't foresee
that happening, continue to knock on wood
      evile: that's cool.
SkyeDS: I need some time there with him so we can tackle piles
      together
SkyeDS: and then once those piles are wrangled to a certain point
there is a lot I can do without him there
      evile: Yeah.
SkyeDS: actually more easily since I would need access to his puter
(he needs to get me one eventually)
      evile: definitely.
SkyeDS: many of the paralegals and secretaries I admire say they get
their best work done early in the morning or late in the evening when
the attorney isn't there at all
SkyeDS: this is just going to be the best of all worlds
      SkyeDS: schedule flexibility
SkyeDS: I like spending time with Hugh on a personal basis
SkyeDS: we work well together when he's there
SkyeDS: and I work just as happily when he isn't
SkyeDS: and I will make my own paid holidays/vacation/sick time and
such through my own industry, pretty much as I always have (what
happens when you're a contractor, although I hope sineater gets something
that would include health insurance, at least catastrophic, soon)
evile: that would be a big load off your minds, I know.
SkyeDS: I've been paying Hugh's bills, and I see what he pays for his
own health insurance, and how much major stuff costs him even though
      he has insurance
evile: That is something that worries Sweetie, too.
SkyeDS: he's a health admin lawyer you know
SkyeDS: I told him about your idea for associations/collectives and
      he agrees
SkyeDS: incidentally Congress is trying to move in that direction...
ineptly so far (what else is new)
      evile: heh. of course.
SkyeDS: we have the mechanism in place for large self insureds
already, sheesh. You don't have to even event a brand new wheel.
evile: Just have to be real careful on what demographic 'they' decide
to put you in. I bet women our age have HUGE healthcare costs due to
      childbirth & whathaveyou.
      SkyeDS: cool website: http://www.ladyofthelakes.biz/
evile: fertility treatments account for a _huge_ chunk of healthcare
      costs
evile: And a lot of employers cover that while refusing to cover
      birth control. crazy.
SkyeDS: seems to me that fertility = elective
SkyeDS: but I know that's just going to be construed as hatefulness
      on my nonmotherhood part
evile: I think so too. And I find it a trifle hypocritical that
people who won't allow 'god's will' to be thwarted by condoms will
allow 'god's will' to be thwarted through fertility treatments
SkyeDS: Kelly told me that mandatory sex ed in Manor starts in 5th
      grade
      SkyeDS: and it is segregated
SkyeDS: and then in 6th grade it is unsegregated
evile: I think ours was too. Karnes City TX.
SkyeDS: I can't believe there aren't rabid Xian parents who don't
throw a big fit over that
SkyeDS: I've always thought that sex ed should be inherently part of
anatomy, in Biology, which I think was 9th grade? 10th grade?
SkyeDS: but I know you have to catch the kids early
evile: I think there was an option for the Xtian kids to go to the
library or the auditorium or something, like you had to get a
permission slip and if your parents didn't sign it, you didn't go to
      sex ed.
SkyeDS: they're having sex at age 8 now, a lot of them
evile: that is so alien to me..
SkyeDS: outside of the behavioral and sociological factors and
      implications
SkyeDS: girls are starting their periods at 9
      SkyeDS: that's purely biological
      SkyeDS: and significant I think
      evile: scary thought.
SkyeDS: no matter how you raise your daughter, an d what you do and
don't allow her to come into contact with, she's going to start her
      period at a tender age.
SkyeDS: and you have the bleeding/breeding thing to deal with
      (because she'll ovulate at 10)
SkyeDS: I have seen Kelly's job
evile: So maybe Rubber_pig isn't so nutty having pads in her purse in case
her 10 year old starts....Okay. points for the fiancee.
SkyeDS: she does a superlative job at it
SkyeDS: (and I don't fucking want it)
SkyeDS: when I was teaching (a decade ago) a 9 year old girl came to
me in tears because she started a day early and didn't have protection
evile: I think a lot of teenagers and young women could benefit from
spending time with real children & infants. Figure out it's not about
having a cute little dolly baby that will love you forever.
SkyeDS: I told her all I had were my supersize tampons (baby's arm
      size)
SkyeDS: and she said that's the size she uses anyway and thank you
      miss :)
      evile: yow!
SkyeDS: you could have knocked me over with a molt feather
      evile: i bet.
SkyeDS: only reason I used tampons right after I first started was
because I couldn't march wearing pads the size I needed.
evile: yeah...pretty bulky things back in the day.
SkyeDS: the world would be a better place if there were more mothers
      like Kelly.
evile: She is sweet with her kids, but she doesn't take any crap
either. It's a hard road to walk, keeping that balance.
SkyeDS: she is an amazing mother, from all perspectives
SkyeDS: she is an amazing mother despite her motherhood being
      a "mistake" both times
SkyeDS: getting pregnant as a teenager
SkyeDS: marrying and divorcing Michael's dad and not making that
mistake with Brittany's dad even though Brittany was a "mistake" too.
SkyeDS: she is not on welfare of any kind
SkyeDS: the child support checks don't come dependably
SkyeDS: and she hasn't latched onto some other man codependently
SkyeDS: and her children want for nothing, financially or
emotionally, and they are academically and socially exceptional.
evile: Bet you just want to hold her up and say "look, breeder
welfare cows, it can be done!"
SkyeDS: it can be done by a single mother thank you very much
SkyeDS: so two parent families should do at least that well if not
      better
evile: exactly. But it requires *work* and consistent diligent
efforts, which a lot of biologically-capable breeders dont' want to
      do.
SkyeDS: if I were a regulatory type person I would say require all
women to go through a course in how to be a mother like Kelly before
issuing them licenses to breed in a controlled fashion.
      evile: ahh, utopia.
SkyeDS: and...her tubes are tied...there will be no more breeding for
      her, through her own volition.
evile: smart move, if you're that prone to fertility :)
SkyeDS: I admire Kelly to no end.
SkyeDS: and why should I have children of my own, whom I would no
doubt mess up with, when I can enjoy hers, without doing any damage.
      evile: hee.
SkyeDS: (in that she would kill me before she let that happen)
evile: being an auntE was fun. When the kids were unspoiled &
      uncoached in 'gimme gimme'
SkyeDS: if you ever decide you want to die slowly and painfully, you
      fuck with Kelly's children.
      evile: I bet.
SkyeDS: you think I have a temper? I am Mary fucking Poppins next to
      Kelly.
SkyeDS: when someone is stupid enough to set her off, I offer to kill
them, and then I sit in the corner quietly and behaving myself, so
that I am not in her way and don't draw her fire in my direction
evile: it's always rather terrifying to watch someone go
into 'lioness' mode. Mom, Dee, even sweet little Rio.
      SkyeDS: oh good lord
SkyeDS: I sure as hell wouldn't want to be in Dee's line of fire
      evile: nope.
SkyeDS: I have never seen a bull lose its temper
      SkyeDS: but I don't doubt that I don't want a critter God gave 14
foot rack to giving me my first performance
SkyeDS: Skye is crazy, but she is not, contrary to popular belief,
      that fucking insane.
evile: Thus far, I've only heard about it, in her dealings with the
      school over Phine's dyslexia.
SkyeDS: one of the things I know sonar0m's parents did right was go to the
matt legally with Leander over his severe dyslexia.
evile: I know you have a hard time with them, but I do think they act
out of love & caring for him. Probably overprotective &
      unreasonable...but not hateful.
evile: And they're working on it. If the shrink does nothing else,
hopefully they will find a healthful way to separate themselves and
their accomplishments & choices in life from their son's, realize
that he's an individual who will make his own choices & live his own
      life.
      SkyeDS: that was cute
SkyeDS: taxcut cd crashed my puter
SkyeDS: have the resident expert working on that now
      evile: oh well. s**T happens.
      SkyeDS: there's that website
evile: We're going to see the accountant on Monday.I need to finish
sorting out all my paper before then.
      SkyeDS: ladiesonlysports.com
      SkyeDS: good bra/exercise site
      evile: cool.
SkyeDS: you'd think I'd have learned by now
      evile: ?
SkyeDS: I ought to bring the mail in myself
SkyeDS: because if I want all the tax documents in a nice safe pile
where I can find it when I want it....
SkyeDS: every year it's the same way
      SkyeDS: and insanity is....
evile: Sweetie used to have an 'in box'. That was helpful.
SkyeDS: sineater's inbox is the entire floor of his office
SkyeDS: I thought it would suffice to ask him to please put tax
documents in one place on or about my desk, and remember where that
      place is
SkyeDS: I should have known better, we've been through ti before
evile: Sweetie's filing system is the dining table. That's not where I
throw Sweetie's stuff when it comes in, but that's where it ends up.
SkyeDS: there are things that if we want done right, we do them
ourselves, because we know they don't care, we can't make them care,
we can't foist it off on them because it will get messed up, it's
important it not get messed up, adn they don't care and we do
      evile: true enough.
      SkyeDS: you know...things like...the taxes....vehicle registration
      and inspection....etc
      evile: yup.
SkyeDS: even Dr. Laura agrees that women have the power, and we mess
up when we don't use it correctly.
evile: Sweetie's lost our deed & all the floor & outside plans &
      measurements that were with it.
SkyeDS: omg, did you ever find them?
evile: nope. I wanted to copy the lot blueprint and do a garden plan
with correct square footage, but in the process discovered that it's
      all MIA.
SkyeDS: there should be a copy of the deed with the bank, the title
      company, etc
evile: i suppose I could blame Sweetie for losing them, but it was me who
let him insist on keeping them & believed him when he said he'd
file it in his filing cabinet.
evile: I don't need a copy of the deed right this second. But I
really wanted a lot plan to play with.
evile: When/if the time comes, since he's the one who lost the deed,
it will be his responsibility to get another copy.
      SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: we ought to know better
      SkyeDS: shame on me
evile: I positively despise passive-agressive behavior, but Sweetie has
used it so much on me that I have learned some of the finer points &
am now quite good at using it right back at him.
SkyeDS: Ayn Rand had a point about victims being victims by choice
      evile: yup.
SkyeDS: I can and have dealt with these problems quite effectively
      before, I know how
SkyeDS: I get criticized like a motherfucker for my methods
SkyeDS: but they work when I use them
evile: same here. I just hope that I don't become something I can't
like or live with as a result of using those methods.
      SkyeDS: amen sister
evile: Would be so much easier to ask politely once and have things
      get done
SkyeDS: maybe you will get the chance to be Aunt E again soon
      (through Brother A)
      evile: um...I doubt it.
SkyeDS: what is that from Pulp Fiction
SkyeDS: "don't make me get medieval on yo ass"
      SkyeDS: or something close
evile: I think Rubber_Pigs concept of motherhood includes spending most of
her time with them. If they aren't with their dad, they are with her
      kind of thing.
evile: That, or at lessons. Apparently one of her older 2 is musical
      & she's cultivating that.
evile: She was talking about Austin Schools & Aunt L told her flat out
Eanes and Westlake(whatever district that is) are the only ones
comparable to where she is now in San Antonio (alamo heights)
      SkyeDS: Round Rock too
evile: I don't know much about Austin's school systems at all. Brother A
may end up moving to SA so that the girls can stay in Alamo Heights.
SkyeDS: does he have job prospects in AH?
evile: Brother A doesn't have prospects anywhere, far as I know.
evile: He failed his drug test for the beer warehouse, BTW. it wasn't
his fault because he didn't realize marijuana stays in your system
too long. *bangs head against wall*
evile: How is it 'not your fault' to smoke pot of your own free will
and then get caught? Boy has his head up his ass. I love him to
pieces but...he makes me crazy. that cause-effect thing again.
evile: that was a decent blue collar gig, too. $12 an hour &
      benefits. *sigh*
evile: You couldn't do anything fancy, but you could raise a family
      on that.
      SkyeDS: nods
evile: oh well. His friend Ron is in SA and working security, if he
moved there and could stay away from the wacky weed, he could get a
job there, maybe. Trey works high-tech, so probably would not be able
to get Brother A in at his place.
SkyeDS: don't know what to tell him
evile: Trey's in a very specialized unit in the navy reserves. Wonder
how it'll shake out if he actually is coming out of the closet. (that
is just my own twisted little theory, at this point, mind you. I'm
      just idly speculating)
      SkyeDS: nods
evile: personally, I don't think you can spend months in a confined
space with someone and *not* know their sexual preference. that
whole 'dont ask don't tell' is such garbage.
      SkyeDS: theoretically it shouldn't matter
      evile: not at all.
SkyeDS: you shouldn't be worried about sexual preference when people
      are trying to kill you
      SkyeDS: but it does
SkyeDS: and for people who are phobic, you can't reason with them
SkyeDS: phobias are not reasonable by definition
      evile: right.
evile: Another possibility re: Trey passing Rubber_pig along to Brother A: he
is going active duty again soon & wants to be sure she's safe before
      he goes.
      SkyeDS: or any combination thereof
      evile: yup.
evile: They've been married on and off for over 10 years, so there's
gotta be something there, even if it's not enough to make the
      marriage work, or whatever.
evile: Aunt L said she got the impression that Rubber_pig was the one who
wanted the divorce & Trey didn't.
evile: But, like I said, I think we only see the tip of the iceberg
here & have no idea what's really going on with this.
SkyeDS: so she marries Brother A and then plays pingpong back and forth,
divorcing one and marrying the other.
evile: Wonder what happened to the daddy of #2?
evile: Think she & Trey picked him too & then changed their minds &
      got back together?
evile: I'm so tacky...I should just steel myself to be kind & polite
& actually spend time with them if I want to know, instead of
speculating like the mean nasty childfree hag that I am.
evile: She's obviously quite willing to talk about herself & her
relationships, so I am sure I don't need to guess, I could just ask.
evile: Brother A, being Brother A, will change his story to fit his audience. I
don't get the feeling that Rubber_pig is like that.
      SkyeDS: I would be wondering
evile: Then again, it's really none of my business. And I probably
      don't want to know.
SkyeDS: there may be a time down the road when you must cross that
      bridge
SkyeDS: but no reason to cross it before you come to it
evile: yup. Brother A is a grown man now, he can make his own decisions in
      life.
evile: I wish he wasn't so selfish & immature. I wish he'd think
things through before making such a big committment...but things may
      turn out OK anyway.
evile: Oh well. I should make my rounds & let you focus on your
      taxes.
evile: Probably won't be at Poly dinner this Thurs, but hopefully see
      ya 'round sometime soon!
      *hugs!*

    Feb. 7, 2004

    Me to J-Law:

    Oh dear ghod.

Apparently Brother A and Trey's wife Rubber_pig are

    1) an item
    2) going to get married in July
    and
    3) wanting to have a baby. She has already (allegedly)
miscarried once since they've been together (and of
course they KNOW it was his...what EVER)

Stop the fucking world--I want to get OFF.

I have tried very hard to convince myself that maybe
I'm just too judgemental. That I expect too much from
any woman who would presume to take one of MY darling
brothers off the market. That I would not accept
anyone who dated them, no matter how nice they really
were, that I'd just find fault & be horrible, that the
problem was perhaps ME, not the women that sineater and
    Brother A choose to date.

Tonight proved to me conclusively and 100% that I am
NOT wrong and have NEVER been wrong in the estimation
of any of Brother A or sineater's women. For some horrible
reason known only to God, my brothers have HIDEOUS
taste in women and end up with self-centered crazy
    user bitches.

    Tonight we heard about how:

She has been married to Trey twice, divorced him once,
and betewen marriage #1 and #2, she got knocked up
with the middle child, whose name is apparently
    "Bliss".

Yet, according to my Mom, who called Aunt L earlier
today to tell her to "be nice", Rubber_pig was REALLY
WORRIED about making a good first impression on Aunt L &
    Uncle B.

To me, making a good impression would seem to include
NOT sharing such skankariffic tidbits about yourself
with people upon first meeting them.

She had a Mexican Martini and got tipsy.

She SNORTED when she laughed. I think the first time
she did it was an accident and then when the waiter
thought it was cute, she kept doing it on purpose.

Cousin B was in town for the weekend, helping Uncle B do some
work out on L&B's new property, and even HE was
annoyed as hell with this womans' behavior.

She showed us the contents of her purse to show us
what a good mother & how organized she is, including
the fact that she carries sanitary pads just in case
her 10 year old starts her period(EW!!!)

She also talked about giving birth to one of her THREE
(Three! 3!!!!!) ...I didn't listen too hard, she said
the word 'crowning' and then I tuned the fuck out!

Ugh. She is awful. Another Skye_ds in the making.
    =======

    Me to CF LJ community:

    Oh, I'm gonna be SICK!
Met my bro's new GF tonight for the 2nd time.

They met at the same New Year's Eve party where I met her for the
    first time.

Turns out she is a twice married, once divorced mother of 3
    "A 10 year old, a 5 year old and a 20 month old"

    She's in school.

My brother has been unemployed for over a year.

She is still married to the father of two of her 3 kids.

They have been 'dating' since Dec. 31 and it is now only the first
    week of February.

They plan on getting married in July.

She has already miscarried his(????) baby and they want to have one
    together.

*bangs head into wall until it is a bloody pulp*

You know, I used to think I was some kind of evil bad sister for
always finding fault with every woman my brothers brought home. I
told myself I was being too critical, I should give them the benefit
of the doubt, I shouldn't be so harsh and judgemental.

But ya know...I really don't think so.

What the hell kind of woman says she wants to make a good impression
on a guy's family and then goes out to dinner with them and tells the
guy's aunt & uncle that her middle child is not the child of her
    first husband?!?

I am just thinking with the head on top and not the one between the
legs, so I guess that's why I see this for the ungodly train wreck it
    so obviously IS.

Please, Gods, Goddesses, and all the little Demons in Hell, don't let
this woman get pregnant again! Knock some sense into my brother
    before something horrible happens!

    From: "evilE
    Subject: Decemberween was OK
    To: "D

My family was there, but no friends that I really
wanted to see. Nobody from San Antonio or the deep
past or anything. It was a pretty bland crowd.

sineater and Skye_DS had car trouble in Texarkana so they
    didn't show up.

None of the other High Fantasy Society people came,
    either.

I kept turning the fire on the fondues down or off to
keep things from burning and every time I'd leave the
kitchen somebody would light them up full-strength
again. But the rest of the food turned out fine.

The decor was cool, I had a beaded curtain between the
entranceway and the living room, lots of pillows, and
lots of lights hanging down in the living room.

I had lots of Xmas lites outside & the back yard was
    really nice.

We had a fire ring in the back yard, which people
really seemed to enjoy, even though the weather was
    pretty warm & a fire wasn't necessary.

I wore a kind of bellydance outfit, with a great coin
hipscarf I got on Ebay for $18. That was fun.

But no scandals and no real gossipy fun. It was what
we call a "nice party". Borrring!

BUT! New Years Eve, we went to a party in San Antonio
& saw a friend of Brother A's from his childhood. This guy,
Trey, is 27 and has been married since he was 17 & got
his little girlfriend pregnant. They now have 3 kids.
After Brother A, Mom, Stepdad, sineater, I & Cousin Cousin B left, the
guy's wife went up to Sister H and said "Trey and I are
getting a divorce and oh by the way your brother is
    HOT!"

Jeez!!! I wonder if I should offer Brother A a vasectomy as
an early bday/xmas present...if he's going to be
messing with little mrs fertile myrtle, he might need
    something stronger than a Trojan!

Hope your 2004 is wonderful so far!

    XO!

    Me to J-Law:

Sister H stayed at the San Antonio NYE party, and had
this *very interesting* conversation with Brother A's
    childhood friend, Trey's wife, rubber_pig.

Background: Trey and rubber_pig were 17 when they married,
due to Trey knocking rubber_pig up with the first of their
THREE children. Trey & rubber_pig are now 27 years old &
have been married 10 yrs. Brother A says rubber_pig gives him a
"Skye_DS vibe." She was wearing a dress open down to
the bellybutton at NYE, showing lots of cleave. She is
not big like A, but she has no waist & lots of boob.

Anyhoo... So, we had left about 10:30 to go back to
Austin, and Sister H & rubber_pig were chatting.

rubber_pig: Sister H, when you come to visit this summer,
you'll have to come stay at my house!

Sister H: Oh, you and Trey are getting a house? That's
    cool.

rubber_pig: No, Trey and I are getting a divorce. By the
    way, your brother's HOT!!!

    ----
erggghhhh! Not another psycho in the family. And this
one is apparently quite fertile. bleh!!! I wonder how
much a vasectomy costs & if Brother A would be interested
in getting one as an early b-day/Xmas present?

    ===================================================

    Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2004 08:55:06 -0800 (PST)
    J-Law to me:

I don't want to terrify you. But I need to say this. rubber_pig (a
cursed name, incidentally. Every rubber_pig I have ever known has been
totally bughouse) sounds like a blend of UB and That Girl. It's
the "Your brother's hot" thing that twigged me.

Oh, and the lotsa boob, no waist, bad taste thing.

    Love the vasectomy prezzie idea.

    ===================================
    Me to J-Law:

I don't think it's possible for me to be any more
terrified re: Brother A & rubber_pig. They traded phone numbers
as we were leaving, so "we" can call next time "we"
are in Austin, she said. Yeahright. Sounds like she's
gonna make a booty call soon. Please, god, let Brother A
    have common sense for once...

You are dead-on re: her personality--very much a blend
of That Girl and UB. I guess I should mention--as we
were rounding up the troops to leave at 10:30, Brother A
and Trey were in Trey's old room upstairs, sitting on
the bed with rubber_pig and Trey's Very Tall Coworker there
(My theory is he's their Eunuch, but the
    Gomez/Morticia/Lurch Addams Family comparison works
too) Anyway, when we were all back in the car, Brother A
said he got the feeling they were about to tell him
    "something really important"--I jokingly said
something about them wanting a Threesome with The
Eunuch fanning them or something. But maybe I wasn't
that far off. bleh! I need bleach for my brainstem!!!

    dreams last night:

xrays of my essure procedure, 3D and in color photographs were
    produced.

Krabby the coworker got mad at me at work and I went to Boss Lady & asked to be
moved because I could not take Krabby bossing me & telling me when and
    what to work.

    ---

NYE: drove to SA w/Mom, Stepdad, Brother A, sineater, and Cousin B. Skye_DS
was 'fighting off a migraine' & did not join us. Visited w/Sawyers.
Sister H & her dad. Met Trey's wife. cleavage. bitchy/snotty. [ editing to add: my first time meeting the rubber pig!]

Drove back to Austin, golden muskrat & black eyed peas at L&B's at
midnight, sonar0m called my cell, was at sineater's ("fighting off a
migraine" must be code for 'getting fucked by other lover') then sineater
went home, mom & Stepdad went to bed, Brother A, Cousin B and I went to Bastrop
for Jaime & Kathleen's NYE party. Got there around 2:00-2:30. We
missed the fireworks & they didn't want to light any more since it
was so late, so A didn't get to do his.

Napped in vanagon 3:30-4:30 a.m. got up, drove Brother A home, Cousin B crashed
in my guest bed. woke up 10 a.m. on Jan 1, called Aunt L to say we'd
made it home safe, slept till noon, Aunt L called & woke me up. Cousin B had
been up since 11 or so. We ate then Sweetie came home & we all went to
L&B's. Aunt L gave us $, Took Sweetie home. Sweetie went to Air Coolers, Cousin B &
I went to Serranos and then saw School of Rock at the cheap movies.

Dropped Cousin B back at L&B's around 9. Went home & went to bed.
