Would a dangerous, malignant narcissistic partner, who I believe is trying to have me killed .. sincerely agree to a legal contract drafted by an attorney, stating that he will not harm me or my family in any way, directly or indirectly?

Don't bother with this. A legit lawyer would never agree to draft an agreement like this.

A narcissist thinks they are smarter than anyone else, so they're going to find a loophole and do whatever they want, to remain (at least in their own minds) within the letter of the law, if not the spirit of the law.

And, finally, narcissists don't like being told what to do, so they will resent this restriction on their “freedom “

You are better off documenting whatever threats have been made and getting a restraining order from a judge.

And then it will be your responsibility to document and call the police each and every time the narcissist attempts to violate the order.

Now that you realize this person hates you enough to want you dead, perhaps it is time to think of exiting the relationship. Make a plan and get safe.
