evile: sounds like you had a nice weekend.
SkyeDS: except for the tummy upsets yesterday yes :)
SkyeDS: sineater spent the entire day in the bathroom
evile: Sounds like what Sweetie had last week.
SkyeDS: broke our hearts to have to be tied to the house yesterday
SkyeDS: but at least hte first event is Bryn Gwlad so that's close to
home
evile: these things happen. Home can be nice.
evile: Launchcast has a station called "Trick Or Treat"-- I'm really
enjoying it this morning.
SkyeDS: did you say they had fan stations
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: so like if I wanted to listen to Dead Can Dance and nothing
else
SkyeDS: do they work like that?
evile: no.
evile: You could type in 'dead can dance' in the little search box,
you'd get the artist main page, and then could look up stations that
feature them, but the fan stations never have 100% of the artist
mentioned, it also includes artists in the same genre
evile: I've found good stuff that way, though.
SkyeDS: but it would be one way to eventually hear some dead can dance
evile: this is true :)
SkyeDS: and if I liked them I would probably like some of t he others
in the genre too
SkyeDS: so that would be good
evile: yup
evile: Looks like you get a choice between 'new age' and 'dead can
dance fan radio'
SkyeDS: taking boss out for boss's day, bbiab
evile: have fun :)
SkyeDS: bk
evile: nice lunch?
SkyeDS: Hugh is always a pleasant meal companion and the food was
good :)
evile: good.
evile: Today's Unfortunate Name Winner: Ammathyst Love Rose. born in
1967, quelle surprise
SkyeDS: least they could have done would be to spell Amethyst right
SkyeDS: one of the pagans in the PSA at UT when we were there named
her girl Malachite
evile: really!
evile: Malachite is more of a boy's name.
evile: *gigglesnort*
SkyeDS: she and I used to get into it over the subject of rape
particularly but that's a very long story.
SkyeDS: gigglesnort
SkyeDS: I might borrow that, for my LJ
SkyeDS: but then I'd have to explain it
SkyeDS: and I'm done 'splainin
evile: I don't think you need to explain anything you dont' want to.
SkyeDS: if I just said "gigglesnort" and nothing else, everybody
would be like wha???
SkyeDS: and wanting to know if that was aimed at them
evile: I'd know what you meant :P
evile: And here we have the first runner up: Brashaunda. I'm sure
she's got brothers and sisters: Sockeem and Girdletika
SkyeDS: and some relative similar to "jock strap" or "cup" somewhere
SkyeDS: and then there was that student of my mom's, Placentia.
evile: people really need to think before they go throwing hideous
labels on their offspring.
SkyeDS: if they were thinking people would there have been offspring
in the first place
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: what is with all the vain people out there I'm wonderin
evile: who?
SkyeDS: "she put that in her LJ, she must have been talking about me"
SkyeDS: you know, because it's all about you
SkyeDS: or "why did she leave Barad Duin"
evile: Oh, I think everyone is like that.
SkyeDS: or why did I do this that or the other thing
SkyeDS: and not a one of these people ever ask me
evile: human nature, I suppose.
SkyeDS: and I've posted Carly Simon's You're So Vain ad nauseum, and
these people aren't getting it
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: "Why didn't Skye go to CRW" ~ discuss.
SkyeDS: despite what I said publicly about it.
evile: they dont have anything better to do, I guess.
SkyeDS: bunch of pots calling kettles black most of them
SkyeDS: thinking every thing I do or say in whatever public forum has
to do with them, so they have to do and say things in public forums
about me
SkyeDS: again, don't go away mad, just go (the fuck) away already
evile: I haven't looked at hfs in chaos, or hfscr, either one, lately.
SkyeDS: I found out Saturday that "every member of the Rockdale
Roping Circle KNOWS that Skye of Bella Peregrina Ranch is a Bitch"
SkyeDS: In Lexington, where I don't know anybody but the vet.
evile: wow.
SkyeDS: so I went to run down where I heard this
SkyeDS: and it's somebody I've never met
evile: that's truly unfortunate.
SkyeDS: because as it just so happens, NONE of the Ropers have ever
met me
SkyeDS: so there's this whole circle of people who have never met me,
who know definitively that I am a bitch, and can't/won't tell me who
would have told them that
SkyeDS: /me shrugs
SkyeDS: the Ropers are no loss to me
evile: wow. that's too bizarre.
SkyeDS: I don't care to do business with people like that.
SkyeDS: I notice that it seems to be part of a pattern that's going
on lately all over
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: and I wonder about the pattern, but, I have control over my
character, not my reputation
SkyeDS: so anyway
SkyeDS: I don't even know why the ropers would be interested in
discussing me
SkyeDS: I don't rope, I don't barrel, I don't pole, I don't do
anything even remotely western.
evile: must be very sad, bored people.
SkyeDS: if the rest of the "ropers" are like this one, I don't really
care
evile: yup
evile: always good to consider the source
SkyeDS: stupid bottle blond who when I went up to introduce myself
and be friendly looked like she thought I was going to eat her.
SkyeDS: (I don't eat junk food).
evile: heehee
SkyeDS: so we're going to continue doing what we do, in t he circles
we do them in, because I didn't have any interest in roping to begin
with and even less interest than that now.
evile: there ya go.
SkyeDS: these are the same people who are always fighting with some
other faction about the rodeo fairpark
SkyeDS: no wonder they're always fighting.
evile: unhappy bored people always have to find ways to make other
people miserable.
SkyeDS: given what Dr. Wayne Dyer says, I probably shoudln't even
have gone to investigate
SkyeDS: I just wanted to see if any of these people actually knew me,
which means I need to figure out why someone who knows me would say
that.
SkyeDS: but in finding out that none of these people know me, and
aren't willing (or really don't even know) who their original source
was
SkyeDS: if not a single one of them can actually remember where they
got this idea in their heads
SkyeDS: then the contents of the bottle have permeated their skulls
and well...
evile: well, at least that's one you can't pin on me, I wouldn't kow
a 'roper' if I stepped in one.
evile: :P
SkyeDS: I suppose nothing should ever surprise me anymore
SkyeDS: but that there would be an entire social circle of adults
who "know something for a fact" about somebody they all admit to have
never met.
SkyeDS: that's .... beyond juvenile, junior/high schoolish, childish,
whatever
evile: It is.
evile: You could always take it as a compliment: if people are this
threatened by you, you must be important :P
SkyeDS: I guess to some people I am. Problem is, nobody that's
important to me.
SkyeDS: I think I am happier when I'm ignorant of all these people
around me who are fixated on me
evile: and it could send business your way--if somebody disliked the
people who were talking smack about you, they might get curious about
you.
SkyeDS: that's why I'm not more concerned about it
evile: they say there's no such thing as bad publicity.
SkyeDS: I doubt any business would ever have come my way from that
circle anyway
SkyeDS: I don't rodeo and I can't teach it
SkyeDS: I've never set foot anywhere near their events so I don't
understand the interest in me
SkyeDS: I have yet to go to the fair, even on a week night, and not
the rodeo because that's always on an event weekend when I'm
somewheres else doing what we do
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: anyway, that's the kind of snooty stuck up snobbish behavior
that Westerners equate with English riders
SkyeDS: that's not any better than the English riders in the SCA who
put the Western riders down.
evile: nope.
SkyeDS: I guess it's kind of like what Vonnegut said on PBS not too
long ago. There are winners and losers, but not in the sense most
people think.
SkyeDS: Most people think of one major party or the other to be the
winner, and the other the loser
SkyeDS: they're both "winners" and the rest of us lose.
evile: yup
SkyeDS: what I told Sylvie and Seasha was, I'm going to teach you to
ride right
SkyeDS: and it doesn't matter what saddle you ride in that way, or if
you ride in a saddle at all
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I was taught to play piano the right way. And I've been able
to take that education and play any kind of music I wanted.
evile: exactly.
SkyeDS: it helped that my music teacher, who was a classical teacher,
did not restrict me to classical music
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I'm pretty sure she was disappointed that I was playing other
things, but I was getting paid at a ridiculously young age, and she
understood that
SkyeDS: so what she said was, if you're going to play it, play it
right
SkyeDS: and then took me to the music store to show me which books
written by who to buy in each genre so that I was playing at my level
no matter what i was playing
evile: that's very cool.
SkyeDS: it just now occurred to me that my teaching theory comes
from hers.
SkyeDS: I send her roses and other things I know she likes with cards
from time to time because she was more like a mother to me than my
own, and of all the people to have an impact on my life, probably
hers was the single greatest
evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: now t hat I realize my teaching style is modeled on hers, I
should tell her that.
evile: I'm sure that would make her smile :)
SkyeDS: I may be the worst of her black sheep but she always has
smiles for me
evile: that's always nice.
SkyeDS: wind to your wings, scooting on home to teach a lesson, cs ya
tomorrows
