the way the world should be. Women will never rule the world as long
as we are stabbing each ohter in the back, ditching each other for
men, and otherwise mistreating one another for the sake of getting a
    little piece of sausage.

Oh, yes, yet again, I've been ditched, betrayed, fucked over, all for
the sake of a girlfriend gettin' a man.

It's no wonder I don't have many female friends--can't trust 'em to
be relied on for anything. Wave a weenie in their face and suddenly
they are no longer there for their girlfriends.

    FEH.

because I always manage to sabotage it...

    BUT--Oct 1 I weighed 217 fucking pounds.

Last night I weighed myself and I'm down to 211!

    Kick ASS.

I am hoping it is some combination of exercise & mayb the 5htp I've
been taking, trying to get my body back into balance after going off
the depo. I'd like to have my waist back.

I'd like to wear a size 12 &/or or weigh 160, whichever comes first.
If I continued to lose 6 lbs a month, I could be there by my 35th
bday :) That would be cool!

evile: there you are! TGIF, baybEE!
    SkyeDS: yeah
SkyeDS: I can't wait for today to be over
evile: I'd rather be at home, that's for sure.
SkyeDS: last night I triple checked the door and gate when I left, as
sineater and sonar0m can bear witness. Apparently the door was open this
morning, and so the powers that be think it's my fault
evile: wow. anything or anybody missing?
SkyeDS: and, because one night when my neck was out so bad I nearly
went to the hospital again, I did forget to lock it, and called Hugh
and asked him to lock it (because he's closer), now every time
something goes wrong, it looks like it's my fault.
    evile: oh, yuck.
SkyeDS: Ferguson's law clerk was scared out of her wits to find a
large black man in the office this morning
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: half the time I'm not the last to leave, Avant and Mitchell
don't remember to lock up, and then I get accused and there is always
a big row while I prove I wasn't the last one here.
    evile: oh, lordy.
    SkyeDS: I'm cramping, I feel like shit, and I'm afraid I didn't
handle the accusation today with aplomb
    evile: *hugs* that sucks.
SkyeDS: I hackled up, defended myself, AND pointed out that I have
witnesses to my locking the door last night and testing it to be
    sure, two of them.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: but Tonya wields her accusations like a frying pan, so I
    instinctively responded in kind.
evile: it's hard to deal with people like that.
SkyeDS: ideally as support staff I should be perennially calm cool
    and serene
SkyeDS: but it just doesn't work that way.
SkyeDS: come through the door and the first thing that happens is I
get my case jumped, AGAIN, for something I didn't do, and I damn well
defended myself in the same manner in which I felt attacked.
evile: you're human, nobody can be that way 100% of the time..not
without a LOT of drugs anyway :P
SkyeDS: I wouldn't be surprised if I lost my job over this, but you
know what, I'll take my last paycheck, invest in wireless internet
high speed and work from home. Which is what I've had half a mind to
do for a long while anyway.
evile: Let it die down for a bit, and then just talk it over calmly
with the peopel in that office whose opinions are of value to you.
SkyeDS: And my contract can't be terminated without 30 days notice
    anyway except by mutual agmt.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: but I"ll be more than happy to take 30 days pay and leave now.
evile: *nod* Like I said, give it time to blow over then talk it over
with the important person(s) and see what can be resolved. And you
can always apologize for snapping without admitting guilt.
SkyeDS: 1) there's no guilt to admit. 2) I will point out that the
one night I DID forget to lock the door, the first thing I did was
call and admit that to Hugh, and then ask him to remedy it. And
offer to have sineater drive all the way to Austin and back to remedy it
    if Hugh said no.
SkyeDS: I have a solid history of admitting to mistakes and
attempting to correct them. I do not deny responsibility unless I
    truly don't have it.
evile: Sorry, I guess I mis spoke. You are embarassed by your
defensive behavior, so apologize for that. And that will not be
admitting to something you didn't do, just admitting that you didn't
handle the accusation well and would like to apologize for snapping.
    SkyeDS: right
    SkyeDS: I figured that out
SkyeDS: actually I have a pretty good understanding of how to
apologize specifically, and whether or not it gets misinterpreted is
    not my problem
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: ie "I'm sorry you're upset" rather than "I'm sorry I did
    (whatever)"
evile: right. And saying you didn't mean to snap might be a nice
    touch.
SkyeDS: although...I'm not sure I didn't mean to snap.
SkyeDS: I think I'd best stick to I'm sorry I reacted that way.
SkyeDS: not "I didn't mean to" because i did.
evile: You always want to take the higher ground, esp in a work
situation. If its not possible to react to an irrational accusation
calmly, then it's best to calmly go back and say "gosh, I'm sorry I
sank to your level" (but in a nicer more politic way, of course)
    SkyeDS: exactly
SkyeDS: I was just pondering how to include sinking to her level,
    couched nicely
SkyeDS: and wondering if that's even possible or wise
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: rather than, I'm sorry I snapped when you attacked me
SkyeDS: perhaps ~ I'm sorry I reacted that way. I felt as if I were
    being attacked unjustly.
evile: Maybe somethng generic like "boy, we really started this
morning off on the wrong foot, what can we do to make sure that
    doesnt' happen again"?
SkyeDS: gives her the out of, well, I didn't attack you
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I don't want to argue about whether or not she attacked or
not, since that's a matter of opinion
SkyeDS: her perception and what she intended
    evile: exactly
SkyeDS: and my perception on the receiving end
SkyeDS: and Hugh's and sonar0m's separate perceptions as bystanders.
evile: Not the best way to start your day, caught you off guard, etc.
SkyeDS: on top of that Hugh is having a rotten day and has been
    cursing all day long.
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: I hope he feels better after he gets back from racketball
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: E, M and I are going to dinner with Bob who is in town
tonight from Beaumont. I just want to get out of here without
    committing homicide.
SkyeDS: I was reading two of Dani's posts this morning and going, ME
    TOO, ME TOO
SkyeDS: (I will not kill my staff and I will not react instinctively
    or whatever that was)
    evile: heh.
evile: You would have liked the play last night.
    SkyeDS: sounds like
evile: two scenes in particular: when Jon is attacked by the
Countess' 3 minions in his bed, and then near the end when Dr. Van
Helsing and the Countess share blood....wow...yumyum.
evile: Some lines & scenes were straight from Stoker's book, others
were brand new. It was very interesting, & kinda feminist in a
    twisted way.
SkyeDS: I like Z Budapest a lot. Sometimes her feminism borderlines
    going too far though.
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: a la Andrea Dworkin and that business about even marital sex
    is rape
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: hello, we can't give birth without men involved some how.
    evile: not yet! :P
SkyeDS: according to the dictionary definition of feminist (one who
believes in equality of sexes rather than superiority of one over the
other), even Dr. Laura is a true feminist.
SkyeDS: she even named her new book Woman Power.
SkyeDS: she'd shoot someone in the face with a bazooka for pointing
out that rather twisted logic though
    evile: good for her.
SkyeDS: so it was Stoker with twists, such as a Countess rather than
    a Count (and others)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I like Tanith Lee too, and Tanith Lee is very twisted
evile: very much so. Her writing style is very Clark Ashton Smith--I
love that evocative, dark & detailed jewel-like writing style.
SkyeDS: and Mercedes Lackey wrote a novel based on Swan Lake from a
different perspective which always twists things
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: gorgeous cover, would make fabulous garb (drool)
SkyeDS: (book called The Black Swan)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I've been told that in British history books the Am Rev war
is not called a war but an insurrection or rebellion and is pretty
    much just glossed over
    evile: heh. that's awesome.
SkyeDS: Washington would have been a traitor and not a hero had we
    lost.
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: I like perspection changes and twisties
    evile: me too.
    This cover:
    http://www.firebirdarts.com/mlackey/1jody05.shtml
SkyeDS: nevermind my prurient interest in bisexuality <grin>
SkyeDS: wouldn't that be to die for garb?
    evile: yup.
evile: The actress playing Van Helsing looked like Sean Young as
    Rachael in Blade Runner.
SkyeDS: Hugh Jackman made a yummy Van Helsing, specially with the
    hair, I'm sorry.
SkyeDS: were all the main characters women?
    evile: *nodnod*
evile: nod re: jackman. The play had a good mix of men & women.
SkyeDS: Cate was hot too. I want the boots.
evile: van helsing & lucy & The Countess & 2 minions were female. Jon
Harker was male, as well as Renfield and Dr. Seward
SkyeDS: watched the Man Who Cried and Benny & Joon two nights running
    evile: *nod*
    evile: http://www.cwrl.utexas.edu/~syverson/309-
    fall95/classpage/bladerunner/hinojosa/rachael.gif
    evile: rachael
evile: wierd/sicky sort of t hought, dr. van helsing also looked a
bit like [rubber pig]. Who is beautiful, even if she's sick and evil.
SkyeDS: ya know, I thought classically sexy was completely out and
had been for a long time
SkyeDS: the culture today is so completely desensitized that it
doesn't have a clue as to what's really erotic anymore
evile: who or what do you mean by 'classically sexy"--like betty
    paige kind of thing?
SkyeDS: like that last one you mentioned
    evile: [rubber pig]?
SkyeDS: I don't know offhand who betty paige is, but I would assume
we're talking about the same time period
SkyeDS: betty gable, lana turner, rita hayworth
SkyeDS: the original sex goddess starlets
    SkyeDS: (the rachael picture)_
    evile: betty http://www.goth.net/~blood_rose/images/betty.jpg
    SkyeDS: yes that
evile: Certain things are universal, biological --a certain waist to
hip ratio indicates female fertility, so men are aroused.
SkyeDS: particularly when the focus was on the lips
evile: clear skin, good complexion, rosyness in lips and cheeks
indicate health which indicate good biological breeding material.
    SkyeDS: http://members.tripod.com/~claudia79/
    evile: *nodnod*
SkyeDS: in Mexico, for one's wife to be fleshy is considered a
compliment to t he man's ability to keep his family fed.
evile: yeah well. Too bad Latin men are such jerks.
evile: Andrea Skola, the actress who played the Countess, was
incredibly gorgeous. She was older, maybe in her mid 40s, but had
these leg muscles that were just...amazing. Her movements on the
stage were really fantastic too-she did that Oldman dracula gliding-
thing--super creepy & sexy somehow, too.
    SkyeDS: tina turner legs
    evile: yeah. She was fantastic.
SkyeDS: I wonder how clients think Hugh can meet deadlines when they
call every five minutes on the day of the deadline
    evile: that's aggravating.
SkyeDS: I'm glad he's so singleminded
SkyeDS: he's so pissed at the state right now he hasn't got any left
    to be pissed at me
    evile: well, that's good...I guess.
SkyeDS: the solution to the door being open is to change the lock
    SkyeDS: simple enough
SkyeDS: and I see no reason to get hyper about that
evile: Hopefully once everyone's temper is calmer, y'all can talk
over what needs to happen with that.
SkyeDS: POA: 1) It is, though, a good opportunity to learn patience
    and self-control.

evile: *nod* that's a good way to look at it.
SkyeDS: 2) determine what you can do differently next time
evile: "oh, no, not another fucking learning experience" :P
SkyeDS: 3) Do not put more stock in what other people think than in
what you believe to be right.

    evile: yup
SkyeDS: 4) Do not feel compelled to dance to anyone else's tune. But
do not ignore the music of your own heart.

SkyeDS: 5) a more conciliatory approach
SkyeDS: (I like POAs. they're extended mantras that keep me sane)
    evile: *nodnod*
evile: "63 days til Vegas" is my sane-mantra.
evile: ugh. I wish I hadn't done that. I just looked back at my
records for the year. I gained 24 lbs since going off depo. that's so
    fucking disappointing!!
SkyeDS: I'm sure you'll take it off through diet and exercise
evile: Maybe. But that's gotta be at least in part due to some kind
of hormonal flux...I've NEVER ever in my whole life gained 24 lbs in
    7 months.
evile: I still can't believe Dr. Davis was such a prick about that.
SkyeDS: I have yet to meet a male obg who wasn't a prick to an extent
SkyeDS: I don't think they understand physiology, how our emotions
are tied in with our biology, or however I should phrase that
evile: Well, that acupuncture/homeopathic lady on Tuesday was pretty
condescending too, and she was a woman alternate medicine hippy
    dippy, so that was disappointing.
SkyeDS: seems like sometimes people in general are disappointing.
evile: *nod* aint that the truth.
SkyeDS: sonar0m just presented me with oreo cookies
evile: You wuld think Drs. would be grateful or at least happy that
you're aware of your body, and what is normal for it, so when you
show up with Actual Hard Data to reflect that "this is not normal"...
    evile: good boy.
SkyeDS: dr margaret thompson is supposed to be one of the best obg's
    in town
SkyeDS: she was surprised first and then aggravated when I went to
her and said, I have a BG cyst. I know what all my options are, do
what you have to, but don't marsupialize it.
SkyeDS: she was not happy that I knew what marsupialization was
    without her telling me
    evile: *nod*
evile: You know...I get bored here, but I never get quite bored
enough to talk to random strangers who IM me..
SkyeDS: random IMs happen to Dani alot. she posts them, they're funny
evile: *shrug* kind of like hearing "how I freaked out the Jehovas
    witnesses/mormons" stories.
evile: sorry, I just don't give enough of a shit to talk to people I
don't know or answer the door if I don't recognize the person
ringing, or answer the phone if I'm doign something else.
SkyeDS: I have my own plans should that ever happen. But I'm 34, got
my own place at 18, and it hasn't happened yet
    SkyeDS: (witnesses)
evile: *shrug* yes, thee people are stupid, but what does it say
about ones own level of intelligence to open the door to them in the
    first place?
SkyeDS: at home, the first person on the street would call everyone
else, and all the doors, windows and garage doors would get shut at
    one time
    evile: heh
evile: Dani, in general, borrows way too much trouble.
evile: lays down with pigs and then gets pissy when she stands up and
finds mud on her clothes. Well, duh.
evile: Love the girl dearly, but...it's diffiucult for me to watch
her creating the same shitty situations for herself repeatedly.
    SkyeDS: brb work
    evile: OK
evile: *hugs* I gotta go--have a good weekend!
