My weekend was OK. Went to a cool bellydance show Friday evening,
then tried to go to Ladydreamtime's party after that, but I got lost & didn't
have any phone #'s to call, just the directions. duh.

Saturday, I went to the AIA homes show with e.. It was not as much
walking as I'd expected, and you had to take off your shoes before
going into each of the 10 houses. I didn't know this, obviously,
because I wore my Docs which are comfy for walking long distances and
a PITA to get in and out of. Ugh. Oh well. Some nice houses, but most
of them didn't feel like people really lived there.

Saturday afternoon/evening, I went running the roads w/Sweetie, and then
we went to dinner, and then I went to a housewarming party at
thewordnerd's. I arrived 2 hours & some minutes after the official start
time of the party, and I was only the 2nd person there. I felt kinda
bad for him. Eventually 3 or 4 more people showed up. Everyone at the
party was socially retarded computer geeks and they did that thing I
hate where everyone talks at once and nobody listens. Since I felt so
bad for thewordnerd, I stayed until a bit after 3 a.m.

Sunday, I went to Costco and HEB and picked up a couple hundred
bucks' worth of staples for the pantry & freezer. I also mall-ratted,
browsed thru JC Penney (Sweetie's mom & mamaw gave us a JCP gift
certificate for Xmas...we haven't used it yet, and now I know why)
and got a box of the 6 new truffles at the Godiva store. I tried
the "caramel solstice" one last night. It was good, even though I am
not usually a fan of hazelnuts.

And that was my weekend. I really could have used one more day--I
didn't do laundry or dishes, which I meant to do Sunday

    SkyeDS: how was your weekend?
    evile: good. Not long enough.
SkyeDS: amen. always need a weekend to get over the weekend. we
didn't get back till 4 am this morn
    evile: ew.
SkyeDS: just this weekend found out Nana has Alzheimer's.
evile: People have been worried about that for awhile now.
SkyeDS: sineater says nobody told him.
evile: Nobody told me either. *shrug*
SkyeDS: she's at the point where the doctor took her car away. Katy
and Stephanie go over there most of the day.
SkyeDS: she was very happy to see us.
evile: I'm glad she was happy to see you.
SkyeDS: the doctor does to her that shit that makes me so mad - talks
over her head to whomever else is there like she isn't within earshot.
evile: *nod* I hate that, too.
SkyeDS: like that time that the doctor was spelling D I E over my
    head to sineater
    evile: ugh.
SkyeDS: I told Nana I would completely understood if she shot her
doctor in the face with a bazooka.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: got to dress the girls up for the first time with the new
stuff, which was pretty, practice was awesome, and the boys are now
qualified for mounted crest combat, which is a special auth. over and
above advanced. They have to wear rapier masks while they try to
knock a mounted crest off each other's head.
    evile: awesome.
SkyeDS: puter just rebooted on me
    evile: yuck!
evile: I really needed 1 more day of weekend. I meant to do dishes &
laundry yesterday and didn't get around to it.
SkyeDS: I didn't do laundry either, and desperately needed to
evile: I managed to scrounge up this week's work clothes, just
    barely.
    SkyeDS: nodndo
evile: I am not sure about undergarments, but I do have enough
    outerwear for 2 weeks.
evile: Sweetie hasn't been able to find out anything else about the bus
show/campout this weekend, so I may give it a miss.
    SkyeDS: :/
evile: Are y'all still planning on going to the ESA campout/festival?
SkyeDS: paid for the tickets this morning
SkyeDS: apparently they're mailing them, I hope we get them on time :|
evile: hm. Yeah, I finally got something in the mail from them
advertising the festival, postmarked 9/29, arrived in my mailbox by
    the 2nd.
SkyeDS: well, I just emailed them with a forward of my paypal receipt
and informed them that two of us would arrive Thursday and one of us
Friday, and would a copy of the receipt suffice to get us in, in case
our tickets didn't arrive via snail mail in time
evile: I guess if I do go, I'll just pay at the gate.
evile: The bellydance show on Friday was way cool, BTW. There was a
group from Houston whose style is apparently called "american
tribal"...they had very cool jewelry & hair.
SkyeDS: cool. order massive amounts of shit form Egypt, it gets here
    in two weeks
SkyeDS: order a corset and a tarot deck, they arrive in three days
SkyeDS: order two necklaces, from the US, paid for them immediately
after winning them, more than two weeks ago, they aren't here.
    evile: that's pretty screwed up.
    SkyeDS: ebay = caveat emptor
    evile: indeed.
SkyeDS: but these people have an ebay store and are power sellers,
and it's not going to reflect well on them that they've admitted I
paid really fast and given me positive feedback, and then me turn
around and say they were really slow, and give them neutral or
    negative.
    evile: *nod*
evile: I've been scouring the internet for a spiky Kuchi bracelet
like I saw one of the dancers wearing on Friday, but no luck.
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: I could always make leather vambraces, give them an "old
silver" patina & put in metal spikes. But I wanted _those_. *pout*
evile: Sweetie got a bike this weekend. (bicycle) he and Peglegasus went
running around all day yesterday & Sweetie's all like "I'm gonna ride it
    to work!!" hehe.
SkyeDS: how far away is that?
SkyeDS: is not bad idea, while weather is nice anyway
evile: he works in one of the AMD buildings down by Parks & Wildlife
    headquarters.
evile: I think Peglegasus inspired him--Peglegasus has been riding his bike and
working out for about a month & lost 10 lbs.
    SkyeDS: inspiration = good
evile: Yeah. I don't really care if Sweetie's a little pudgy, but with
his dad having been diabetic & dying of a heart attack in his early
50s, I am glad to see him excited about exercise.
SkyeDS: sineater = bad family health history too
    evile: *nod*
evile: At this point, Peglegasus is living on borrowed time and I think he
    is finally realizing that.
    SkyeDS: :-/
evile: who knows. Medicine now is better than it used to be. He might
be around for a good long time yet.
evile: Did anyone get pictures of y'all this weekend, BTW?
    SkyeDS: no
SkyeDS: thought we'd take pictures at HK
evile: I want to see pictures of everybody in their new schtuff!
SkyeDS: practice not a good place for pictures
SkyeDS: the girls were only garbed up for a short while because it
    was hot
evile: Sweetie still hasn't fixed my computer so I can load in pictures.
SkyeDS: and we weren't garbed at all
evile: Oh, Ok then. I don't feel like I missed out on so much, then :)
SkyeDS: was a marvelous time, just not a good photo op
    evile: *nod*
evile: well, seeing as that's pretty much all I do when I go to stuff
like that...I don't feel as bad.
SkyeDS: slowly but surely getting Mirage less skittish about the game
    (very slowly)
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: the deal I've made with her is, when she does it because I
ask her to do it (without being silly about it) I'll stop asking her
    evile: ok.
SkyeDS: and if/when I compete - I told Laura I would at Gulf Wars, as
a beginner most likely (even t ho I"m authorized as advanced), I'll
    ride Jess
    evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: Jess has heart for the game and enjoys it, Rag doesn't. But
I"m not going to accept refusal based on fear. She's going to have
    to trust me that far.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: ESA responded back, all is well there :)
    evile: oh, cool.
evile: they seem to be as well (or better) organized as Pact & CMA
    were.
SkyeDS: my friend Debby lost her dog over the weekend
evile: aw. I'm sorry to hear that. :(
SkyeDS: and, apparently, her great gramma at the same time
    SkyeDS: good grief
evile: man...sounds like me & Sweetie last year around this time.
evile: Seems like stressful awful stuff just happens in big clumps.
SkyeDS: when I'm out having fun, and not around to be a comfort
evile: stuff happens, everyone deals differently. I wanted to be
alone through a lot of what went on this time last year. It's hard to
know what people need from you when they're greiving.
    SkyeDS: nods
evile: It is a comfort to know that people are there, if theyr'e
needed, but not in your face while you're dealing with stuff. So if
she knows that you're there if needed, that will probably be a good
    thing for her.
SkyeDS: I'd like to take the kids to go see her but I don't see
having time to hit Waco with the family before the weekend we already
    planned
    evile: *nod*
evile: She might not be up for kids visiting, anyway...
evile: Well, I'm going to get all my papers shuffled & go on home.
Please give my condolences to your friend.
    SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)

Sharjinka: Pippin is so cute when he sleeps! ;-)

evile: yes, he is!
Sharjinka: But he was sleeping on the couch cushions when I woke up
this morning! :-D
Sharjinka: He has to be where people are / smell.
evile: oops, up on the couch, or the ones I left stacked up by the
red back-pillow thing?
Sharjinka: The ones on the floor.
evile: oh, dear.
Sharjinka: Don't worry about it at all! He looked so CUTE!!
Sharjinka: He gets out of trouble with the puppy eyes. I'm such a
sucker.
evile: he's definitely got the cute puppy eyes DOWN.
Sharjinka: Yep. That's my dog! ;-)
evile: he's a sweetie. We all loved him :)
Sharjinka: I'm glad you guys were okay with him. He just tends to
stick his nose everywhere.
evile: that's a dog thing...I don't think he was bad.
Sharjinka: He actually has calmed down a lot since I got him. He
wasn't too bad last night.
evile: he wasn't bad at all!
evile: he is a very good dog.
Sharjinka: One of these days, I plan to get around to training
him. :-D
Sharjinka: Now, I just bribe him with cookies to be good.
evile: that counts as training, imho :P

Sharjinka: HeeHee.... :-D
evile: I need to remember to take ibuprofen BEFORE class tonight

Sharjinka: Poor thing! Headache?
evile: no. anti-inflammatory, so I won't feel like so much crap
tomorrow. pre emptive strike against sore muscles.
Sharjinka: Makes sense.
evile: that and lots of water all day to make sure I don't overheat
too bad during class. things I remember from taking the intro last
summer
Sharjinka: Very smart. :-)
evile: I don't want too look too weak and pathetic for the first
class. :P
Sharjinka: I know. I'm nervous about martial arts. I haven't even
picked a form I want yet.
evile: You should definitely check out the sun dragon open house next
Monday :)
Sharjinka: I plan to.
evile: cooool!
evile: I'm going to the 5:30 one with [Cousin B], it's a family class.
there's a 7pm (I think) womens self defense demo
Sharjinka: I'm not sure which one I'll attend. Probably women's self
defense.
evile: I'm taking the day off Monday or else I"d never be able to
make it by 5:30.
Sharjinka: I can understand that. Where is the dojo?
evile: On Riverside
evile: If I went straight from work, I could make it.
Sharjinka: Riverside, huh? It's not too far from where I work....
evile: Yeah, but I take the bus, and I'd have to haul my clothes and
whatnot from home every morning...it would be a hassle.
Sharjinka: True.
evile: I took Krav Maga before and I liked it and the classes start
late enough that I can go home and go from there.
Sharjinka: That's cool. I wish I could do something like that.
Maybe next semester. :-)
evile: *nod* I'm really looking forward to being in better shape :)
Sharjinka: Me too. I'm just ready to move in a different direction.
I really do miss the kids though. *sigh*
evile: *nod* I understand.
Sharjinka: I'm also trying to get back into skating.... *sigh* I've
been so lazy lately.
evile: me too!
evile: If I feel up to it, I'm skating after Krav Maga & a shower.
But I'm not betting I'll feel like it!
Sharjinka: I'm not even feeling like skating tonight and I'm not even
going to Krav Maga first.
evile: heh, yeah. I've felt like that lately too.
Sharjinka: "I have cramps." - ChiChi Rodriguez
evile: *giggle* that was so funny!!!
Sharjinka: In my case, it's true but it's funny to think of him
saying that.
evile: yup. actually, exercise *does* help, esp. if you can do some
stretches.
Sharjinka: Yeah. My old coach told me if you can keep doing
activities than you'll feel better.
evile: I never understand women who want to neglect their bodies and
then get all surprised when they have bad periods and health
problems...
Sharjinka: Yeah....I have been neglecting health and I do get bad
ones when that happens. Ordinarily, they're so light....and I hardly
notice them....
evile: yup. take care of the body, it takes care of you :)
Sharjinka: Very true.
evile: yay! I'm meeting with HR to see if I can transfer somewhere
else in the agency!
Sharjinka: AWESOME! Congrats!

evile: It's a good first step. And I am going to have to find or make
time to enter my state app info on the TWC work search site, and do
the UT app online.
Sharjinka: YES! UT! Come work at UT!
evile: I don' t imagine the $ situation would be any better, but you
and chance and Teri's friend all work there and you all like your
jobs, so...a good work environment is a fine thing, and a great
improvement over this place.
Sharjinka: The salary isn't too great but the job itself and the
people are great. (I still think Melanie is a bit TOO nice to
students.)
evile: Yeah...I need a certain amount of $ to live, but I think not
having a raise for 4 years has made my requirements in that area
pretty reasonable.
Sharjinka: Don't blame you for moving on.

evile: well, the one good thing: I had phone duty today so I'm
leaving at 3 today
