evile: how are you feeling today?
SkyeDS: better than yesterday thanks :) how's stuffs?
evile: I'm feeling frisky & wicked. It's fun...except I'm at work.
SkyeDS: aw.
SkyeDS: maybe it will last until you aren't.
evile: hope so. I've been pretty upbeat the last week or so. Maybe
I'm out of the depo-cloud now. (I hope!)
SkyeDS: me too!
evile: PNO classic was pretty dead last night. It was basically just
us & maybe 2 other people.
SkyeDS: but you got to see onyxlynxx, which is always a treat.
evile: She's a doll.
evile: No Mouser. *pout*
SkyeDS: :-/
evile: He is out of work again, so I think he's just being a hermit &
conserving his funds & energy. But...that still SUCKs. (the only
reason I regret missing Terri A's bday party is that he was supposed
to be there)
SkyeDS: out of work = :(
evile: Yeah. The project he was hired for got cancelled and I guess
htey didn't have anything he could transfer to right then. It sucks.
SkyeDS: sineater said there are lots of postings now more than there used
to be, so maybe he will turn up something soon I hope.
evile: I hope so. It does look better.
evile: Is sineater still in stasis, or did his gig start?
SkyeDS: they said they would try to start him by next Monday. But
the paperwork hasn't been signed yet :-/
evile: argh! so irritating!!!
SkyeDS: aye. but there's a lot needing done this week to keep him
occupied.
evile: I bet :)
evile: sonar0m back to school yet?
SkyeDS: finally got someone to shred the big pasture this morning,
the caliche came yesterday and the roof ahs to be put on the shed
(but that will have to wait till Friday)
SkyeDS: yep, he started yesterday
SkyeDS: the roof will wait till Friday because M has no class and he
will be there to help.
evile: *nod*
evile: Did you reach a compromise with your 'rents about this
upcoming weekend?
SkyeDS: sineater said he thought they left stuff because they're coming
back soon
evile: aha.
SkyeDS: I hope it isn't this weekend, because I TOLD them we weren't
going to be in town.
SkyeDS: I suspect it might be LD weekend but they haven't said.
evile: well, if they aren't staying at your place & all the work that
needs done is outdoors, maybe they could do it without you being
there...
SkyeDS: and I would NEVER hear the end of that
evile: *shrug* they don't seem to have provided you any win-win
option, far as I can tell. You lose any way they set it up.
evile: all wrapped up & disguised as doing something nice for you,
very very tidy.
SkyeDS: I am very appreciative of the $2200 mower.
SkyeDS: And the manhours put into my paddocks and the house.
SkyeDS: but I have been planning to go to Ft. Hood for a month now,
and so I have told everyone for some time.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if I didn't know better, i'd think they were going to move in
evile: scary!
evile: You *had* considered it might eventually happen, as they got
older and needed more help with everyday life....but I don't think
you were looking at the near future when you were mentioning it :)
SkyeDS: no I wasn't.
SkyeDS: and there's no reason I know of why they'd want to, right
now. I don't see how they could unless they brought Gramma with them.
SkyeDS: I can understand the enthusiasm for wanting to nurture my
place, obviously I can empathize.
evile: yeah. I don't suppose you could ask where all these sudden
kind gestures were coming from without giving offense....
SkyeDS: however, they've sold off all the ancestral land that wasn't
confiscated by Clinton already when he was gubernor of AR, and if
they wanted to take care of land, why sell it off?
evile: L&B sold their old land & bought different land they liked
better. After [uncle B] had spent 12 years clearing cedar and working
really hard on the original property. I don't understand, but their
prerogative.
SkyeDS: yep.
SkyeDS: and there's purpose behind mine, I mean, we live on it and all
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I know Gramma had more fun than the doctor would have wanted
her to have, playing with the matches.
evile: heh. It's not the years in your life, but the life in your
years, IMHO.
SkyeDS: going to take my little ADD kiddo to a parade weekend after
this
SkyeDS: soon as I can get an answer as to when and where it starts
evile: cool!
SkyeDS: he'll have to ride Jez rather than Mirage, which I've told
him many times. I couldn't get him on her last lesson, but I think
we'll do a lesson next Monday at FP, and he'll ride her then.
SkyeDS: he'll have E & M as ground crew anyway, so all he has to do
is sit up straight and wave (and not wig out)
evile: yup!
SkyeDS: I told him he couldn't ride Mirage unless he wanted to wear
my skirts and look like a dancing girl.
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: it's a music and culture parade, and he can dress up as a
cowboy without having to bard Jez. I don't want him riding Mirage
with her barding on.
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: his mother is a nuisance, E & M have to keep her out of my
hair while I teach
SkyeDS: so this last time I told her, if you're going to stand there,
you have to play cow
evile: *laff*
SkyeDS: so she came into the pasture and the boys chased her for a
very long time
evile: OMG, too funny!
SkyeDS: it was.
evile: should have charged her extra for giving her an exercise
program. :P
SkyeDS: eventually she'll get tired of being cow and find something
else to occupy her time, I hope.
evile: *nod* hopefully.
evile: Annoying that she won't go away when straight-up asked to do
so.
SkyeDS: she tries to participate and be helpful
evile: worse & worse.
SkyeDS: when we start riding through t he pond and across the river I
surmise she'll stay on the porch
evile: hope so.
evile: Last night Sweetie told me about some icky bacteria down at the
coast. Now I am not as thrilled about jumping in the ocean. Maybe
I'll just walk & collect shells...
SkyeDS: yuck :(
evile: yeah. very yuck.
evile: I still wanna go, though.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: Plus we are having brunch with Dave on Saturday in Houston,
can't miss that :)
SkyeDS: :D
evile: I'm just excited to be getting out of town, truthfully...
SkyeDS: me too, it's been nice having weekends off but I want to get
back to doing again
evile: *nod* exactly.
SkyeDS: so how do you let people know you want to be on their friends
list or put them on yours?
evile: click "manage" then select 'friends', then edit friends, then
type in names of people you want to add to your friends list (want to
read them daily & want them to be able to read all public & friends-
only posts)
SkyeDS: nodnod
evile: If people want to add you back to their freinds list, they
will do so.
SkyeDS: cool
evile: Most people check their 'info' page, see that someone has
added them as a friend, and then return the favor.
SkyeDS: :)
evile: I don't check my info page too terribly often, maybe 1ce a
week or so, so don't be too worried if people dont' add you back
immediately
SkyeDS: that was easy enough
evile: *nod* LJ is pretty userfriendly. And pervasive as hell--seems
that all the groups I've hung out with lately have ended up talking
about LJ stuff at some point.
SkyeDS: it seems to have a calendar function
evile: Not really, that is just a way to see how many entries so-and-
so had on such-date
SkyeDS: ah
evile: Would be very cool if it had something like yahoo calendar
where you could share upcoming info with your friends list.
SkyeDS: ya
evile: It's possible that the more high-tech users have tools to link
stuff to their LJ. or something.
evile: Ugh. I just looked at the news 8 allergy report. Mold is high.
I should have known. There is also something that is making my eyes
itch. Mold usually just makes me all congested.
SkyeDS: I woke up bad today too
evile: ugh. I hate that! One more reason to look forward to leaving
Austin for a while.
SkyeDS: Randy's going to FH after all, so I can let Megs compete
evile: cool.
evile: Interesting. I had not thought about an assasination attempt
on Kerry/Edwards.
evile: brb, gotta log out.
