evile: hey :)
SkyeDS: how's you? :)
evile: Good. You?
SkyeDS: wish today were Friday lol
evile: yeah. I'm ready for the weekend.
SkyeDS: you know what I think is ironic funny
evile: whats that?
SkyeDS: I have never shared some of my sexual curiosity with sineater
because when he found out I have friends that are both Dommes and subs
SkyeDS: his comment was that subs are abused women who choose to be
victims
SkyeDS: and now he has all these "friends" who are dommes (I don't
know if he knows any subs)
evile: heh.
evile: There is certainly potential for abuse in BDSM world, but no
more than in vanilla-land.
SkyeDS: he has of course since revised his opinion, not that it makes
any difference, I'm still not discussing tender parts of my psyche
with him.
evile: That seems harsh to me, but it's your choice.
SkyeDS: I never know when he's going to find some new face to harp
on, so I don't risk it anymore.
SkyeDS: face = facet.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if he wanted me to share he wouldn't constantly be putting
down the music I like, the books I like, things that I like to read
or watch or listen to my friends talk about (and not necessarily do
myself)
evile: hm.
SkyeDS: I just find his choice of "friends" amusing in light of stuff.
evile: *shrug* Sweetie has plenty of friends and interests that dont'
interest me in the least...it doesn't hurt me.
SkyeDS: am not hurt, am amused.
evile: ok.
evile: Everybody has a right to their own opinions re: BDSM, etc.
Does not make my interests any less interesting or valid to me.
SkyeDS: if you aim your particular sense of humor at something before
you find out that your SO happens to have an interest in it, don't be
surprised if they cease to share, if they choose not to be at the
butt of the humor.
evile: *shrug*
evile: I don't think Sweetie & I would have survived as long as we have
as a couple if we weren't able to make fun of each other.
SkyeDS: if you know you're laughing with, and not being laughed at,
big difference
evile: Then again, it's not mean-spirited or hateful making-fun,
so ...
SkyeDS: yes
SkyeDS: and his humor is very mean and hateful
evile: always has been...
SkyeDS: oh well, I guess he doesn't aim it at any one of his friends
with same interests, just at me
SkyeDS: I can't imagine they'd find it funny
evile: hm.
SkyeDS: the hypocrisy makes me laugh, I'm sorry.
evile: hurts your feelings, too.
SkyeDS: not so much if I laugh
evile: *nod*
evile: He wont' ever fix it if you don't ever let him know he's done
wrong & how he might try to fix it...
SkyeDS: we've discussed it many times
evile: Well if you've tried, I guess best to just give it up for now.
SkyeDS: and laugh
evile: Generally, I find that the traits we find repulsive in others
are ones we have in ourselves but don't want to acknowledge.
SkyeDS: sometimes (but not always)
evile: not always.
evile: I'm percolating a thought or two tangentially related to such.
But not sure if it'll ever be post-able or share-able in any way.
evile: I am trying to set up my 'memories' in LJ so that all the KINK
posts will be viewable under one 'memory' to the people in that
filter. If possible. So nobody I add now will have to go hunting.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: Being nosy...have you plumbed the depths of my LJ, or just
skimmed over recent?
SkyeDS: have gone back like more than 60 posts
evile: wow...
evile: dammit. 'memories' can be listed as 'public' 'friends'
or 'private'. no filters avail beyond that.
SkyeDS: :(
evile: But I am assuming that the filter for the individual post
would override the general filter? Like someone on my friends list
might see that there's a post, but not be able to read it unless they
were in hte kink filter? That's my theory.
evile: No idea how to test it...but that's my theory.
SkyeDS: I am a completely clueless newbie
evile: Mostly clueless oldbie.
evile: I'm going to pause in my efforts until I find out more, I
think....
SkyeDS: good idea
evile: Or...could I use you as a guinea pig?
evile: I dont' want to ask someone whose currently not n the filter,
I don'w ant anyone to feel left out...but if I unfiltered you, asked
you to look, tell me what you see, then re-add you?
SkyeDS: tell me what I'm trying to access again
evile: Ok, just 1 sec
evile: step 1: remove skye_ds from custom friends list KINK
done
Step 2: skye goes to
http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=bramblekite
and clicks on the 'heart' picture near the top
SkyeDS: For X.: 1 entry
I know this feeling: 1 entry
LJ manners: 1 entry
metoo!: 2 entries
yup!: 3 entries
evile: *cheers*
evile: Step 3: I re-add skye_ds to kink list.
done
Step 4: skye reloads Memories page
SkyeDS: For X.: 1 entry
I know this feeling: 1 entry
LJ manners: 1 entry
metoo!: 2 entries
yup!: 3 entries
evile: well...fuck.
evile: try going back to here
http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=bramblekite
and then hitting the heart again-again...
SkyeDS: For X.: 1 entry
I know this feeling: 1 entry
LJ manners: 1 entry
metoo!: 2 entries
yup!: 3 entries
evile: hell.
evile: Oh well. I'm going to put them in their own spot in Memories
anyway, even if only I can see them it'll be useful to have them in
their own spot.
evile: I know this feeling is also friends-only...maybe something
about the individual posts' filter is making the memory filter not
work. Feh.
SkyeDS: :-/
evile: Oh well. Now I'm going to see if it's just you, or everyone on
that filter.
evile: grr.
evile: Erin says she sees them.
SkyeDS: is that good or bad
evile: good. She is on the kink-filter.
SkyeDS: I take it I wasn't seeing what was on the K filter
evile: no, but you should be able to now.
SkyeDS: hungry.
evile: it's after 1, you should have lunch!
SkyeDS: yep
SkyeDS: and I am at a stopping place
evile: perfect :)
evile: When you get back (no rush, no worries) go here:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/bramblekite/
& scroll down to Wednesday, August 25th, 2004
12:52 pm That was my last kink-locked post today. Leave me a comment
there if you can read it. Then the one before that was Sunday, August
22nd, 2004 5:37 pm & has actual content.
SkyeDS: I see no Kink for today.
evile: well, fuck and damn.
evile: it ought to be titled 'testing'.
SkyeDS: aw :-/
evile: I dunno what the deal is. Maybe the changes I made back and
forth won't "take" until next time you log in to LJ? Usually it just
takes a 'refresh' but maybe theres something else going on.
SkyeDS: coudl be
SkyeDS: I will relog after I finish writing some checks
evile: 'k.
SkyeDS: I want a hot tub
SkyeDS: my parents say it isn't good to have one in the house
SkyeDS: but I want one
evile: me toooooo
evile: we should go to the next home & garden show--they had outdoor
hot tubs there that have their own little enclosures.
SkyeDS: my mom's was in the house kinda sorta
SkyeDS: she screened in a patio and then put up storm windows
evile: cool.
SkyeDS: carpet, etc
evile: there was a guy in Mt. Gretna who did his like that. It was
nice.
SkyeDS: I thought for a long while about getting a pool
SkyeDS: and didn't want to give up an inch of good grazing
SkyeDS: but I still want a hot tub
evile: *nod*
evile: me too. Sweetie says no. And where would we put it?
SkyeDS: good poitn that
SkyeDS: and every place I have that would suit, I'm like, but that's
better used some other wazy
evile: If our AC was quieter, and meter-access wasn't there, I could
turn the side yard into a little oasis for the hot tub.
SkyeDS: I've got an entire acre that I don't have anything to do with
SkyeDS: but it's way away from the house
SkyeDS: across the pond and the creek
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: now....if I could privacy fence it.
evile: You could always build a sauna. Don't need electricity for
that.
SkyeDS: oh I've got electric and water hookups all over th eplace
evile: cool.
evile: you could still build a sauna. That would be cool.
SkyeDS: I was thinking, sauna near house, but pool could go out there
if I fenced it
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I was a lso thinking about letting people camp on it
SkyeDS: when they overnight board
evile: that could be cool.
SkyeDS: one way or another I'm going to own that acre and a half in
front of me
SkyeDS: then I could put a pool and a sauna close to the house
evile: and also get rid of unpleasant neighbors. win win.
SkyeDS: yepyep
evile: Nice to have ideas & goals for the future.
SkyeDS: also have to keep in mind, I want to build a house eventually
SkyeDS: maybe the pool should wait till after that
evile: probably. :P
SkyeDS: there are three places that would suit for the house
SkyeDS: have to figure out where it will go
SkyeDS: put the pool next to it, not next to the house now
evile: makes sense.
evile: I still need a plat of my backyard so I can plan out my little
garden. One of these days....
evile: augh! My launchcast just played DuranDuran's version of "911
is a joke"
evile: ears on fire....must skip....
SkyeDS: lol
evile: white middle class british " gangsta homies"...um, no.
SkyeDS: I don't have a sound card or speakers, or I'd be listening to
launchcast all day too
evile: oh well. Other than that, I'd say you've got an ideal position
there :)
SkyeDS: :)
evile: Scary. Terri H is the only one who has taken me up on my lunch
idea for Friday. She gets silly crushes. I like her but dont' want to
encourage any drama.
SkyeDS: I thought her plate was full in that respect
evile: enh, she's poly, so theoretically there's always room for one
more.
SkyeDS: not timewise
evile: I think her 'issue' is getting crushes on people who are
unavailable and then getting all kinds of drama & hurt feelings over
it.
evile: Whether she has time for them or not is not the issue, teh
fact that they dont want her, therefore she must be a terrible awful
horrible person, IS. ugh.
SkyeDS: yuck
evile: The fact that I"m not available in that way to _anyone_ may be
a saving grace in this instance.
evile: hopefully Onyxlynxx and/or thewordnerd will be able to join us.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: And apparently we're working up a poly hippie hollow outing
for later on Friday. :) yay!
SkyeDS: :)
SkyeDS: and, it's time for you to go home today
SkyeDS: am envious
evile: *hugs* see ya tomorrow :)
