    evile: howdy :)
    SkyeDS: hola :)
evile: I have a feeling the fit is about to hit the shan at work.
Email from boss' boss re: production yesterday. But hopefully i'll
have a way to keep you posted when/if it does.
SkyeDS: sokay. hope you have a can of excrement repellant handy.
evile: heh. As long as it hits everyone in my unit and not just me,
    I've got no problem.
evile: But if she singles me out for punitive action, there WILL be
problems. My ally in HR retired, but I'm sure I can still find an
outlet down there if it comes to that.
    SkyeDS: productivity probs?
evile: Not for me personally, but the HO's are getting caught up so
we need to enter a lot of new cases to schedule.
evile: since the last time we had this 'non issue' I have kept
meticulous notes on my work calendar re: how I spend my time at work.
Between administering TUC claims and processing decisions, I am
losing production time lately and it is showing.
SkyeDS: those are things you do because you're told to no?
    evile: ex-fucking-ACTLY.
evile: And when processing and TUC and Scan Q and other non-
production things get dumped on me, it's always an 'emergency' and
needs done NOW. So...don't tell me to do something non productive and
then jump my shit because my production #s suck.
evile: Monday I spent the day doing production-only (and chatting
online) and made +30 over my quota. So I am definitely NOT wasting
time on the internet so that it shows..
evile: Tuesday I dealt with late appeal issues, ran the scan Q, and
processed HO decisions, and my production was -30 from my quota.
evile: and I did not spend as much time chatting online yesterday, so
the lack of #s is directly a result of spending 5 hours doing non-
    production stuff.
    SkyeDS: papertrails are good
evile: absolutely. esp. with the Littlest Nazi lurking around looking
    for a victim.
evile: If I don't look like an easy target, she'll move on.
SkyeDS: most criminals are like that
    evile: heh
evile: I've been squirreling away $ for my MT trip. It's not enough
really to be considered "fuck you money" but if push came to shove
and she made my life unpleasant enough, I'd walk.
SkyeDS: from job??? you braver than me (we knew that already tho)
evile: And then she could explain to her boss and my boss why the
unit's biggest producer isn't here anymore.
evile: Well, like I said, I don't have enough to do it comfortably,
    but I could do it.
evile: I'd rather stick it out here a few more months to give Sweetie a
chance to get established at his new job, let all my medical
insurance and car lease issues settle out, build up a little more
    savings... BUT.
    SkyeDS: yep
evile: Maybe I'll quit as a 35th bday present to myself. Go rat
around in Europe for a month, then come back and get another job.
    SkyeDS: sigh - I wish
evile: Well it's in the 'pipe dream' phase at this point, I still
have a debt albatross hanging around my neck...but with diligent work
I could be rid of the plastic debt in a year.
evile: It's pretty interesting. the work hasn't changed, but I feel a
lot freer knowing that I don't HAVE to be here.
SkyeDS: that's the way I felt when I figured out I could walk from
IBM and work for Hugh and run a ranch
SkyeDS: my neck hurt much less
evile: yup :) I can imagine.

evile: I got the bday thing with Sweetie kindasorta sussed: we are going
out 'just us' on May 8, then on the 15th, he's going out with his
geek friends to the titty bar. The weekend of the 22 is still up in
the air, but we're making progress!
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: The thing May 8 is the train ride dealy I was talking about.
It looks like it's going to be a good time.
    SkyeDS: :)
evile: I'm not a big train freak but it'll probably be a really nice
trip (wildflowers) and there'll be food & drinks, a movie, and Guy
Forsyth playing (who I've had a crush on since he was with the
    Spankers)...so win-win.
SkyeDS: I want to go to lake somerville for my bday
evile: that would be awesome ;)
SkyeDS: do you know anyone with DSL? do they like it?
evile: Sweetoe probably does. I don't.
evile: Uck. I am cramping and bleeding just like a real period
    now...WTF
    SkyeDS: :( <hugs>
evile: the post surgery 'drainage' was bad enough. This seems...new.
    SkyeDS: might call Dr. D?
evile: I'm going to see him Friday. That's soon enough for me.
    SkyeDS: k
evile: Only thing I hate worse than inexplicable owie body wierdness
is seeing a Dr. about the inexpicable wierdness...giant waste o' time.
SkyeDS: everyone fusses at me for not goig to dr
evile: If I were feverish or throwing up, in addition to bleeding and
hurting, I'd see him sooner. As is...not worth the hassle.
evile: He gave me a whole list of post-surgery symptoms to watch out
for, and I don't have any of them.
SkyeDS: hope otc med will at least help it some
evile: Yeah. I got some Excedrin 'quicktabs' that I like a lot.
SkyeDS: I LOVE those, those rock
evile: me too. I got some at Big Lots that were like...$2.
SkyeDS: I need to go there then
evile: I love Big Lots. Theres a new one on 183 across from Target
    that I really like.
    SkyeDS: note to self
evile: They have a lot of cheezy/bizarre stuff, but sometimes you can
find good stuff & great deals.
    SkyeDS: we go there occaionally
SkyeDS: I can't remmber that one or not
evile: There is one near Airport/Lamar, one way up north on 183 near
Sam Bets (best cajun in town), and the one on 183 closer to our house
    that is newest.
evile: Those are the only 3 I can think of. There are probably more.
    SkyeDS: perks. cajun? seafood?
    SkyeDS: shrimp, tasso, andouille?
evile: I haven't had everything on their menu (yet), but what I have
    tried is very good.
evile: Much more authentic & MUCH better priced than Pappadeaux, by a
    long shot.
    evile: http://www.sambets.com/
SkyeDS: always in the mood for good cajun and good seafood
    evile: me too.
SkyeDS: love fettucine alfredo with shrimp and andouille in it, yum
SkyeDS: and the fried shrimp Toulouse used to serve
    evile: yup.
evile: That building must have some bad feng-shui, it's been about 5
different things in the past 10 years.
SkyeDS: the 183 construction put LOTS of good restaurants out of
    business
    evile: yeah.
evile: I just got a list of status calls to return. More non-
    production! *growl*
    SkyeDS: :(
evile: I don't mind talking to people, and I'm damn good at it. BUT,
it does not go toward my 'bottom line' so I really don't want to
    waste my time with it.
evile: There's a place downtown that is having $1 sushi happy hour. I
    wanna go...
    SkyeDS: why not
evile: alone in restaurant at happy hour=loser and/or skank
SkyeDS: I could go with, but I won't eat sushi
evile: :) cool. Would feel wierd eating without you eating, too. I
could order you some 'cooked' stuff if that's your objection.
SkyeDS: that would be ok, if it weren't expensive
    evile: $1?
SkyeDS: I thought just the sushi was $1
    evile: There is cooked sushi.
    SkyeDS: did not know that
    SkyeDS: like what's in it?
evile: shrimp. smoked salmon. anything with clam or octopus is cooked.
SkyeDS: shrimp and clam is good
    evile: there's also veggie sushi.
evile: with avocado, carrots, cucumber rolled in rice & seaweed
evile: california rolls are a safe bet for cooked everything: they
are usually crab meat mayo or cream cheese & veggies.
evile: I actually prefer raw fish to cooked fish. I don't like most
cooked fish at all, but I've never met a piece of sushi I didn't like.
SkyeDS: phones are out at home, haven't checked them again
    evile: bummer!
SkyeDS: ought to call Sineater and let him know I will be late
    SkyeDS: where we goin?
evile: It's called "Finn & Porter". 500 E 4th. When do you want to go?
    SkyeDS: I don't get off till 5:45 :-/
evile: Well, maybe we can try it another day. It doesn't have to be
    today.
SkyeDS: is it a regular thing every week?
SkyeDS: how late does happy hour run?
evile: Apparently it is. It's from 5-7 and then they have a late
night happy hour from 11-1 (too late for me on a work night!)
    SkyeDS: we couldn't go from 6 - 7?
SkyeDS: it isn't that far away.
evile: I know. It's up to you, if you wanna to today. We dont' have
    to.
SkyeDS: am up for it if you are
SkyeDS: but we can do it any time
SkyeDS: I know that is not helpful
evile: Let me check in with Sweetie & see if he has plans. If not, I
guess I am a go for today.
    SkyeDS: k
evile: I want to be sure and get in some tennis this evening
too...not enough hours in the day, I tell ya...
    SkyeDS: nope
evile: As long as I don't get drunk and/or too full I should be good
    for tennis. :P
evile: I called Sweetie & left a message on his VM. Maybe I can get him
to meet me there at 5 & then you can join us when you get off?
    SkyeDS: nodnodnod :)
evile: Hopefully he will call me back & we can firm things up before
    quitting time.
evile: The restaurant is in the new Hilton(?) downtown, apparently.
SkyeDS: M's parents are not very bright
    evile: sad.
SkyeDS: (I know that's broken record)
SkyeDS: they gave him an ultimatum
evile: that's worked so well in the past.... :P
SkyeDS: get a job 30 days after school's out, and go to summer
    school, or leave
    evile: suck.
SkyeDS: summer school is usually harder than regular semester
SkyeDS: adn he IS severely learning disabled
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: and so what he can't manage during a normal semester
SkyeDS: he's supposed to manage during a shortened semester
    SkyeDS: AND work 10 hours
    SkyeDS: he's already tutorinng
    evile: exactly
SkyeDS: but they say that doesn't cout
SkyeDS: and where is he going to get 10 hours
    SkyeDS: most employers want 20
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: the "experts" all say he shouldn't even be attempting college
    at all.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: even if I were completely out of the picture he couldn't
handle summer school and a job too, more than his tutoring
SkyeDS: he makes good money tutoring too ($12 an hour)
SkyeDS: I only made $6 an hour when I tutored in college
evile: Well, it's their money, let 'em waste it on summer school that
he'll fail and screw up his GPA.
SkyeDS: the counselor said, how can we swing this without burninng
    bridges
    SkyeDS: sonar0m said, you can't.
    evile: bummer.
SkyeDS: in 30 days, I'm moving in w/ Skye
SkyeDS: either going to summer school or getting a job
SkyeDS: and never speaking to them ever again
    evile: wow.
SkyeDS: no trip to Cali this summer
    SkyeDS: no birthdays
    SkyeDS: no holidays
    SkyeDS: no phone
    SkyeDS: no email
evile: that sounds like a real lose lose to me.
SkyeDS: I don't think they believe him
SkyeDS: they're about to find out.
SkyeDS: fortunately he doesn't need them to get to his college funds
    (TExas Tomorrow, the TX 529)
SkyeDS: hopefully doesn't need them to get at his TRC (Texas Rehab)
    money either
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: so he can still go to school
    SkyeDS: without them
    evile: hope so.
    SkyeDS: they never learn.
SkyeDS: I told him, move out now
SkyeDS: but he wants to see if they back down in a month
SkyeDS: will hide & watch (I do a lot of that)
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: you know, his dad didn't speak to his own mom for 7 years on
    the advice of a doctor
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: you'd think they'd learn from history but no, they're doomed
    to repeat it
    evile: Nice dysfunctional pattern there.
SkyeDS: I don't understand how such people raised such a sweet child.
SkyeDS: I think he is who he is DESPITE them.
evile: I think alot of M's issues hurt you so much because you've
been there, done that...and you know how much it SUCKS
SkyeDS: I don't think it ever got this bad for me
SkyeDS: there was no move out or else ever
    evile: *nods*
SkyeDS: matter of fact, Mom's feelings were very hurt when I got an
apartment and didn't come home for summers
evile: probably because you beat 'em to the punch with marrying R.
SkyeDS: I wouldn'nt have married R, which was a BIG mistake, if both
sides hadn't been treating us like children
SkyeDS: all we wanted to do was have sex.
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: everyone would have been better off to just let us have sex
and not make us get married to do it.
    evile: probably.
SkyeDS: but no, I was suffering under high school restrictions every
time I came home to visit
SkyeDS: and he was living under HS restrictions period with mommy.
SkyeDS: you cannot take away freedoms that already exist
SkyeDS: particularly not a double gemini's
SkyeDS: with taurus rising (adn four other planets there, just enough
to make me stubborn when I need to be)
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: so their efforts to prevent us from havign premarital sex
    failed miserably
SkyeDS: and, in getting around them, I lost all my academic
scholarships (I had what amounted to a free ride)
    evile: yuck.
SkyeDS: all because they didn't want us having sex once a month.
SkyeDS: if/when I have mine, I am NOT going to be silly about sex,
    I'm sorry
SkyeDS: I'm not going to teach them to be ashamed of nudity
SkyeDS: and when my daughter is old enough to bleed, we are going to
    discuss birth control.
evile: good. studies show that the more education a female has, the
less likely she is to have children.
SkyeDS: I did a tarot readingn for (I can't remember whether she was
11 or 14) but her friends are already having sex and babies.
SkyeDS: I had a 9 yo in one of my classes ask me for one of my HUGE
    tampons.
    evile: ick.
SkyeDS: actually I will have to do some looking into when I ought to
    have the birth control discussion.
SkyeDS: as to what age girls are getting pregnant now.
evile: hopefully there will be an open communication type
relationship so it will come up when it needs to.
SkyeDS: I suspect that among the many faults I will have as a parent,
communication at least won't be one of them
SkyeDS: although I'm not the world's best disciplinarian
    evile: heh.
SkyeDS: but I will get Kelly to teach me :)
evile: she's a good role model for parenting, it seems.
SkyeDS: I took her kids out once without her, at her request
    SkyeDS: got complimented on them
SkyeDS: said, they aren't mine but I will relay the compliment thank
    you
evile: That's very cool. the . kids would behave for me, but not
for their parents. It was sad/funny.
SkyeDS: I suspect you were the primary source of discipline to begin
    with.
SkyeDS: I don't think discipline is in X's vocabulary.
SkyeDS: and Mike I think mistakes discipline with anger.
evile: My theory is that the parents can't get rid of them, and i
can. If you misbehave when we're doing something fun or about to do
something fun, I will dump you back with your parents and no 2nd
    chances.
SkyeDS: I wouldn't risk that if I were them either.
    evile: exactly.
    SkyeDS: oh well
SkyeDS: I've gone without speaking to my parents for months on end
SkyeDS: they always come around eventually.
evile: Regrettable, the time you lose with people you love...but if
that's the only way to solve the problem...I guess the silent
treatment is the way to go.
SkyeDS: I have no idea what goes through their heads
SkyeDS: I can't even begin to imagine
    evile: nope.
SkyeDS: and his mother is still whining about the time she lost in
    December
    evile: sad.
    SkyeDS: that's what I don't get
SkyeDS: december, lost time, whine whine whine
SkyeDS: oh and btw, do the impossible or else leave in na month
    evile: yup
evile: Lots of people continually bitch about stuff that is in the
past & can't be fixed or helped anymore, but refuse to learn whatever
lesson from the past could help them in hte here & now...
evile: One of [brother A]'s fave jokes when he was a kid:
guy walks into the Dr. office and says "Doctor, everytime I go like
this it hurts!" The Dr. says "Well, quit doing that."
evile: He was so cute, he'd do the little voices & everything :)
SkyeDS: I like that joke too :)
evile: There's a little bit of wisdom in that humor...
evile: Well, I should make my rounds. I guess I'll meet you at Finn &
    Porter 'round 6-ish?
    SkyeDS: yep :)
    evile: cool :)
evile: See ya in a bit, then *hugs*
    SkyeDS: ciao :)
