The latest A madness: E is coaching her to interview for a tech
position at D---. I can already see how this one is gonna pan out. I
mean, I can totally understand that he is desperate for her to bring
in a paycheck, she runs him into the red all the time & they've got
earnest money down on some property...which, I guess, they'll lose if
they can't pay closing costs at the end of Aug. (? I don't really
know how that works, actually)
SO...what's gonna happen, he's gonna coach her and she'll be able to
pass the tech interview, and as soon as she starts the job, she'll be
calling E every time there's a problem she can't answer, so he'll
be doing his job and her job, both half-assed, and he'll get fired &
she probably will, too. He's already been in trouble when he was
FT/Permanent at D---, for her calling him at work excessively.
*sigh* Then again, he's contract temp work with S---- and only has
a few hundred more hours that he's allowed to work at D--- this
fiscal yr, so maybe he is planning on staying home after his contract
expires and she can just call him at home & he can do her job from
there.
I had to lay the smackdown on Tom last nite. His purple Trooper is
making bad noises and so he can't drive it. He wanted to work on it
today after work, instead of going to San Antonio for Dee's 'goodbye'
dinner tonight. I was nice about it, but I said that the Trooper will
still be here tomorrow, and Dee, Lyle and Josephine WON'T. So we need
to make them our priority and spend as much time with 'em as we can.
I could tell this thought was completely new to him, and I know he
wants to get the car fixed ASAP, but...this is important. And I am
not about to have a rerun of the weekend he ditched me with Festive
and David visiting to go get that goddamned Ghia. Cars and computers
are NOT a priority, loved ones we see rarely ARE.
