May. 9th, 2002 07:43 pm- May 9, 2002last nights:
I was at Mom & Greg's house in Indiana with Festive and Eric. Eric
was out in the yard, with greg and some neighbors, all sitting around
in lawn chairs, Eric was talking about something (showing off the
bird?) Festive and I were trying on clothes from the costume closet.
Something about me and Festive going to dinner. I got a little
soemthing and I only had 5 bucks, but he told me my half was $15, and
ended up having to pay for more than his 'half'.

Horoscopes:
Taurus
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
About ten days ago it may have occurred to you that you should be
making more of an effort to advance your career, dear Taurus. If so,
it will be easier for you to accept the challenges of today, as there
is some probability you'll be asked to perform to the highest levels
of perfection. Be careful not to lose yourself in the attempt!
Gemini
Horoscope (by astrocenter.com)
Your light and breezy spirit may have some trouble harmonizing with
the prevailing mood today, dear Gemini. Usually, when you're
cornered, you're always able to find a way to squirm to safety. But
today you may run out of clever maneuvers. Even though you face the
day's challenges alone and unaided, you will survive them the same
way. Good for you!

The Friday Five.
1. What are your hobbies?
Mostly sleeping, but when I'm awake, I: read, garden, cook, go out in
nature (camping, hiking, walking), skate (still working up the
courage to try inline), do Yoga, Pilates, swim, take road trips,
travel, go to renaissance festivals, go to places like 6 Flags and
Schlitterbahn, and enjoy caffeine and alcohol quite a bit. I'm on a
Texas wine kick just now & would love to own a wine shop where all I
sell is Texas wines.
2. Do you collect anything? Boxes. Tarot Cards. Wierd holiday lights.
Small bottles of liquor (glass ones are getting harder to find!)
3. Is there a hobby you're interested in, but just don't have the
time/money to do? Making mead. Mostly it's that I don't have enough
room to let a carboy sit for as long as it would need to, but also
the supplies can get pricey and I am not sure I have a place in my
house with the constant temperature needed. Also: scuba diving,
learning to fly (if they'd let me with these myopic eyes), and
having/training Lippizaaners. http://www.spanische-
reitschule.com/english/Infoe1a.htm#Lipizzaner
4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity? Tried
to do that with renfaires/traveling and am continuing to try and do
that with stained glass & beadwork. It's not as easy as it seems.
Everyone thinks they're so clever & original when they tell you "You
are so creative, you could sell [whatever] for so much money!"...it's
just not that simple, but thanks to all the people who told me that
and got me started.
5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you
belong to?
Austin No Kidding!, Austin Zoo, Council of Magickal Arts (CMA),Elf
Lore Family, Nude Yoga, Pagan Alliance of Central Texas (PACT)- May 9, 2002Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I
have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that
knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend
the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that
Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of
debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of
the specific laws and how to follow them.
1.) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates
a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors.
They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
2.) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in
Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair
price for her?
3.) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in
her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:l9-24). The problem
is, how I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4.) Lev.25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A
friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not
Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
5.) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus
35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated
to kill him myself?
6.) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination
than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7.) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I
have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading
glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle
room here?
8.) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.
19:27. How should they die?
9.) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig
makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10.) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two
different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing
garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester
blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really
necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town
together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to
death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep
with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
11.) I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am
confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's
word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted disciple and adoring fan
