I finished reading Rebuilding from cover to cover, just taking in the information, thinking about things as they came up for me, the goal was just to read it through once.
Now I'm back at the beginning, doing the work. There are questions all through the book.
Here's the first set:
How are you doing?
Here is the first set of checklist statements for you to respond to before you start reading the next chapter. Assess your response to each question as satisfactory, I need to improve, or unsatisfactory.
1. I have identified the rebuilding blocks that I need to work on.
2. I understand the adjustment process.
3. I want to begin working through the adjustment process.
4. I want to use the pain of this crisis to learn about myself.
5. I want to use the pain of this crisis as a motivation to experience personal growth.
6. If I am reluctant to grow, I will try to understand what feelings are keeping me from growing.
7. I will keep my thoughts and feelings open to discover any rebuilding blocks that I may be stuck in at the present time.
8. I have hope and faith that I can rebuild from this crisis and make it into a creative learning experience.
9. I have discussed the rebuilding blocks model of adjustment with friends in order to better understand where I am in the process.
10. I am committed to understanding some of the reasons why my relationship ended.
11. If I have children of any age, I will attempt to help them work through their adjustment process.
My answers:
1) S
2) Need to improve
