evile: hey, you. Feeling any better today?
SkyeDS: much thank you. I'm as weak as a newborn kitten and Hugh is
    having a bad day. *sigh*.
evile: that sucks. How was traffic coming in?
SkyeDS: I took an alternate route so it wasn't too bad thankfully. I
stayed the hell away from 290 and from 35 until I hit town
SkyeDS: I took 79 to 685 which is Dessau which is Cameron, down to
    183 and hopped over
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I am damn glad I paid attention in geography just long enough
to know how to use a map effectively.
    evile: yup.
evile: Elena's decided she wants to go meditate and such. I dont'
know why she thinks I'd know something about that. I told her to pick
one, and if my schedule permits, I'll try it out with her, but I
don't have a clue. (hate meditating, ANYWAY)
SkyeDS: I know you didn't enjoy it when we were taking yoga.
evile: nope. She's all like "do you like Diamond Way better than
shambala center" and I'm all like "Never been to any of them"...ugh
evile: "but which one do you think I should go to???" ....Um...how
would I know? I've never been to any of them. Make up your own damn
    mind for a change.
evile: that girl is just ripe for some unscrupulous guru-type to take
    advantage of.
SkyeDS: "I don't know, I honestly have no clue nor opinion one way or
    the other." works for me.
evile: stated that & restated it a few times. She's very tenacious
once she does get an idea in her fluffy little head.
    SkyeDS: good grief
evile: and then tried to talk me into taking a $350+ class at The
Crossings with her....sorry, if I had that kind of $ to spend, I'd be
    traveling with it.
    SkyeDS: amen sister
evile: still pondering Xmas in Vegas....nobody wants/is able to go
    with me.
SkyeDS: I don't know what we're doing for Xmas yet. I don't much
like going off and leaving sonar0m with the horses.
SkyeDS: reason being he hasn't got a truck he can pull them to the
    vet with
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: now if I talk to the vet and he will make house calls at Xmas
    time, that's different.
SkyeDS: but I still don't like being without my children for three
    days.
    evile: yup.
SkyeDS: they help me retain my sanity.
    evile: *nod*
evile: how are all your guest critters?
SkyeDS: the two gentlemen are ensconced in the acre paddock next to
the acre paddock the warladies are in, and they are quite happy with
    the room.
SkyeDS: turns out that their turnout at home is not as large.
SkyeDS: /me wonders how anyone could possibly turnout three or more
horses on less than one acre.
    evile: that's good.
    evile: Ararat is awesome, BTW.
    SkyeDS: where is it?
SkyeDS: /me is lovin on the greek and mediterranean food.
evile: North Loop across from Monkey Wrench Books.
evile: Goddess Night was in their outdoor area, but the inside of the
restaurant is all candlelit, rugs on the walls & floors, peacock
    feathers, very very nice atmosphere.
SkyeDS: it has an outdoor area too?
    SkyeDS: rockin.
SkyeDS: went to Tino's on 183, owned by the same little man as owns
Zorba's, and he brought his entire family to meet us.
evile: yeah, but I dont' know if they normally seat patrons out
there, or jsut for special events like dancing/goddess night,e tc
evile: I may have to drag you kicking and screaming to the next
Goddess NIght...it was really so cool. I'm disapointed that nobody I
    know was there.
SkyeDS: when and where is t he next one?
evile: then again, I dont' get much response to any of that 'where
I'm going, what I'm doing' stuff, so I dont know why I allow myself
to be surprised.disappointed. People dont want to do stuff with me &
I need to just accept it.
evile: It'll be Ararat again, they said 'november' but not exactly
when. Ill keep ya posted. It wasn't very well publicized, but it was
    well-attended
SkyeDS: if it's a weeknight that works
SkyeDS: there's an event every weekend in November up until
    Thanksgiving
evile: *shrug* No clue. I'll keep ya posted.
evile: they did this one on the actual autumnal equinox...so I'm
thinking the next one may be Nov 1...but Ararat hasn't updated their
    website since May!
evile: Are you still staying home from red river faire this weekend?
    SkyeDS: yes
SkyeDS: I think between the hurricane and having been sick, I should
    take the hint
    evile: yeah.
evile: I'm sure your 'rents will be disappointed, but probably best
fo r them to stay home & take care of things, too. Looks like they'll
be getting some bad weather if the hurricane stays on it's current
    track.
SkyeDS: I called Dad this morning and told him I had two evacuee
horses to look after, and even if the rest didn't show, I wasn't
    going off and leaving them.
    evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: the nasty weather is likely to hit the fairgrounds too, wind
    and rain
SkyeDS: and the highways are going to be flooded with people
SkyeDS: I can't see why they would be going on with the faire
    personally
    evile: yup
SkyeDS: but even if travel conditions weren't what they were, we
cannot perform in wind and rain unless we are in a covered arena.
    evile: true.
SkyeDS: actually the girls did not like the sound of the rain on the
tin roof of the covered arena they were last in
evile: I'm sure they're not used to that sound.
SkyeDS: which gave me some insight as to why, given the choice of
shed or trees, a horse will stand under a tree
SkyeDS: they don't like the sound of rain on tin.
evile: considering how loud it is to people with pretty stupid
hearing, it is probably painfully loud to an animal with more
    sensitive ears.
    SkyeDS: would think so
evile: Sweetie thinks if we get a metal roof on the house it will sound
like that. I need to find a way to convince him otherwise.
SkyeDS: the trailer had a metal roof, never bothered me
SkyeDS: they say they're more energy efficient.
evile: yup, and you dont' have to replace them as often. plus you get
    a break on homeowners insurance.
evile: tempted to just get it done and present a fait accompli...not
the way you're supposed to deal with other rational adults, but the
only way I can see getting it done in my lifetime.
SkyeDS: I don't think our MH (which is what they call a doublewide
permanently mounted like ours) has a metal roof, dunno why
SkyeDS: but the whole house has an energy star rating and actually
costs the same or less electric and water wise as the old place
    evile: that's cool.
SkyeDS: even though the sqft went from 900 to 1500
SkyeDS: and obviously the water usage went up when I bought a 70 gal
    water tank for the girls
    evile: *nod*
    SkyeDS: rather Mom did.
evile: we need a new roof and more insulation.
evile: well, I got in early, so I'm leaving early. Have a good
    weekend. :)
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
