evile: hey! How was the rest of your weekend?
SkyeDS: it went. system still being picky about what it lets me do
and not do, had to take half a finergan yesterday. Two days of
sunshine completely wasted (Friday, Sunday)
SkyeDS: how was yours? did you have good time w/ [sister H] & [cousin B]?
evile: yup. Nice visit with everyone.
evile: Nothing major, [cousin B] & I hung out and watched movies all night
Friday, we went to Chuy's on Saturday...just the usual stuff.
SkyeDS: oh yeah, fyi
SkyeDS: I made the decision to tell [uncle B] about Paulie.
evile: :(
SkyeDS: [uncle B] asked, so I told him
SkyeDS: plus, I wanted to ask him his advice about the best way/time
to tell [brother A].
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: [brother A] is under the impression that they will be taking Paulie
back
SkyeDS: or that they will have "visitation" with Paulie if/when they
come to the ranch
SkyeDS: that needs to come to a screeching halt.
evile: even though sineater told him straight up otherwise when this
whole thing started.
SkyeDS: apparently.
evile: [brother A] has selective hearing to the poit where I think he
hallucinates what he wants to hear
SkyeDS: well, he needs to know that there won't be visitation
attached to ranch visits.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I personally think somebody snatched Paulie, particularly if
he bears physical resemblance to Welsh/Border collie. Very popular
breed.
SkyeDS: if he had gone somewhere to die, Bear (the alpha dog) would
have led Connie to him.
evile: Maybe not 'snatched' but 'adopted' by someone who thought he
was homeless? Who knows. I hope he's in a good place, here or the
next world.
SkyeDS: nods, hopefully not shot, that would have left a blood trail.
SkyeDS: but at any rate, hopefully not dead.
evile: yup
evile: we did our best. Nothing to be done to save [brother A], but we tried
iwth the dog at least... :(
SkyeDS: [uncle B] asked more than once about Paulie so I thought he at
least needed to know.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I believe the conclusion we all came to was to leave it be
until the next time [brother A] asked, and then tell him.
evile: fyi--he had already asked [aunt L] if Paulie could come to
thanksgiving, and been told NO, BEFORE he asked sineater. So....another
rubber_pig game, looks like to me.
SkyeDS: jesus h fucking christ
evile: if you *had* brought the dog, it would have gotten you 2 in
the shit with [aunt L].
SkyeDS: he was told when he accepted my solution that this wasn't
temporary
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: there wasn't going to be any getting Paulie back
SkyeDS: so where do they get the nerve to say, can you just borrow
him for the day?
evile: *shrug* [brother A] seems to have reverted back to himself as 10 year
old Prince Goldensprog who does not hear the word "no" EVER.
SkyeDS: do they honestly think I'm going to go over to MY FRIEND and
say, ya know that dog that you adopted as a favor to me out of the
kindness of your heart?
SkyeDS: I can borrow him for the day?
evile: no tellin. [brother A] seems to not be much present in consensus
reality these days.
SkyeDS: oh well.
SkyeDS: TG was pleasant enough.
SkyeDS: and I doubt we'll have any more contact other than over the
phone until the next holiday.
evile: *nod*
evile: it's not about Paulie, BTW, it's about getting people to do
what he wants them to do, and getting away with stuff after being
told "no"...or at least that's what it was about when he was a snotty
little 10 year old shithead kid.
evile: rubber_pig seems to have that same mindset.
SkyeDS: I have no problem being the one to explain to him, if I have
to, that nobody has any idea where Paulie is now.
evile: And if he can get other people in the shit over it, even
bette.r
SkyeDS: and that I'm not going to say he's dead because I have no
tangible proof of it.
SkyeDS: I don't particularly care if I"m the Bitch in this, I mean,
what else is new.
evile: well, it' snot about you, in their minds, anyway.
SkyeDS: we don't know where Paulie is, and that's the end of that.
So no, we're not ever bringing him with us, anywhere, ever. And no,
you cannot visit him by visiting the ranch, ever. Thank you, have a
nice day, please drive through.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and I guess I"ll deal with the grief we're likely to get
over "you abused/lost/killed our dog" when it comes
SkyeDS: and it better not come attached to a lawsuit.
evile: hypocrites.
evile: they would have taken him to the pound & he would have been
killed, ANYWAY...at least this way there's a slight chance he's OK
and in a good home, somewhere.
SkyeDS: well.
SkyeDS: I still don't feel 100%.
SkyeDS: I'm not my usual somewhat tactful sparkly self.
SkyeDS: they don't, I repeat don't, want to go there, with me, right
now, nor in the foreseeable future.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I will teach rubber_pig not to swim in the pond with the sharks
and the piranhas, and not with ME either.
evile: she'll be siccing [brother A] on you, rather than getting her own
hands dirty, I can about guarantee you.
SkyeDS: then I will teach [brother A].
SkyeDS: he'll learn after putting bare skin against the electric
fence, after however many encounters it takes him, to leave the
electric fence alone.
SkyeDS: and then he can live copacetically with said electric fence
like everyone else does.
evile: yup
SkyeDS: Calena didn't get insurance request in time, so we won't be
going to Ingleside
evile: bummer!
evile: OMG, Donna's new guy looks just like Jaime does!

SkyeDS: Hugh's dad is about to die, so I have emergency notices of
unavailability to get out
SkyeDS: so I'll be pretty slow the rest of the afternoon....
evile: *nod* I know you're at work, no big.
evile: Did you see Alexander this weekend? The horse looks good,
anyway. Whatsisname isn't cute at all, and I hate his hair, though.

evile: http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0346491/AXD-2095R.jpg
SkyeDS: no moviegoing this weekend. always next weekend though.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: and want to ride down 38th street to see the lights again,
that was fun
evile: I like that neighborhood.
SkyeDS: use the parade lights while we're at it
evile: there ya go.
SkyeDS: guess test run now becomes Thursday night since I didn't feel
up to it yesterday
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: my children are never going to speak to me ever again
SkyeDS: altho they are quite happy with the new pasture
SkyeDS: they ran around, and apparently thought I had just turned
them completely loose, because they looked very surprised to run into
a fence
SkyeDS: "who put THAT there???"
evile: oops.
SkyeDS: I suppose we should have put them on lead and walked them
around the entire fence. Didn't even occur to me at the time.
evile: oh well....
SkyeDS: but at any rate, they've discovered the entire fence line for
themselves and already respect the electric fence.
evile: *nod* I bet.
SkyeDS: they ran all the way down the back line and around the pond,
and were apparently surprised (sineater was down there) to find a fence
there too.
SkyeDS: I wish I'd had a camera, they were mighty pretty running
along the top of the pond levee.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Laura posted to a newbie that a draft shouldn't carry a rider
until they're 4 years old.
evile: *nod*
evile: makes sense, I guess....
SkyeDS: Kelly has been riding Zeus (that huge Shire) since he was 18
months.
SkyeDS: oh well, not my problem.
evile: yup.
evile: probably has something to do with waiting until they're full
grown & have enough bone density, I guess, rather than a
temperamental maturity thing?
SkyeDS: oh yeah, completely physical reasons.
evile: *nod*
evile: so it's not like the 'puppy' rule where you don't start leash
training until their brains are ready to start learning...sure, you
can put the leash on earlier, but they are not ready to start
learning commands yet.
SkyeDS: takes them longer to be ready to carry someone else because
it takes longer for their bones to haul around their own considerable
weights.
SkyeDS: but for the most part, unless someone comes to you and asks
for your advice, it does no good to offer it. they won't listen.
evile: *nod* And, sadly, this is probably nothing that is hurting the
animal now, but will make the end of their life more painful
(arthritis, etc.)
SkyeDS: she's looking for a trainer now
SkyeDS: she's 30 miles eastish I think she said of Dallas, which at
least puts her on the same side of the corridor as us
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: but I suspect I'd get laughed at if I mentioned that I train
evile: *shrug* it's your call. If you think this person could be
someone you would want to work with, mention it. If not, then don't.
SkyeDS: have never met this person
SkyeDS: maybe I"ll reply privately.
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: lol PtA declared one of my posts to be off topic spam. <rolls
eyes>
evile: what.ever.
evile: I think Sharjinka mentioned in passing that she was going to
see about being in that movie, too. auditioning for a bit part
SkyeDS: swhat she said (mailed me privately)
evile: oh, cool.
SkyeDS: you are leaving shortly, as am I - trip to PO. <hugs> wind to
your wings, see you tomorrow :)
evile: *hugs* have a good trip!
