wow! That was easy!
I went in at 10:30, got my IV and some pain medication
around 11, the Dr. was running late & didn't get there
till noonish. We did the procedure, were done by 1, I
was awake by 2, and at 3, Aunt L & I went home. I was
eating soup and toast at L&B's by 3:30.
The post-surgery info sheet said I might feel crampy
pain in my abdomen from the procedure & pain in my
neck & shoulders from the anesthesia..but the only
pain I have is in the hand where the IV was!
The anesthesiologist was gorgeous, btw. Great smile,
very nice guy. I joked that he looked like a dentist because he had
such great teeth. And the nurse who wheeled me into the surgery room
was 42, CF, and looked maybe 30. I was glad to meet someone at that
moment who had chosen the same as me & was happy with her life.
Sweetie picked me up at L&B's and we stopped by Poly dinner. Sineater had
brought the wife & bird along :(
UB is apparently getting into DDR. She says she and Kelly may go in
together on the floor-pad thingys to play at Kelly's house Good for
her--I really hope it helps her be healthier & thinner & more
positive about her body.
Lucky we went by, sineater said if he didn't see me at dinner, they were
planning on stopping by our house on their way home. All the Polys
were happy to see me & amazed I was up and around. Ladydreamtime gave me a
big hug & said "Welcome to the Sisterhood!" (she had a tubal last
year)
David from "No Kidding" & skate nite came down from NK games night.
He said not many people had showed up, and the poly gathering
looked "More happenin'" He's taking a year off & writing. Traveling
back and forth to Portland to get his parents settled into a smaller
place, just enjoying his 40th year at his own pace :) I thought that
was way cool.
Hugged Terriblelynne, Scrith, ladydreamtime, therealgalen, David, Tony, Ruth & Pace. Said HI to
many more, including Savanni.
It felt so good to have people caring about me & happy to see me.
And now I'm back at work. bleh!
Oh well!

I sent this to J-Law on the 4th, the day in between teh meeting and the
surgery. It might be fun to read on my 'essure anniversary"

I'm more productive than usual today. Possibly due to
guilt about missing yesterday & tomorrow. Darn this
'work ethic' thing!
Yesterday's lab work & chat with the Dr went well. The
gal who took the blood samples was fantastic. She was
very understanding about my needle phobia, and the
blood draw was almost painless & did not leave a
bruise! Can you believe it? I usually have a HUGE
bruise after a blood draw. So I'm really impressed.
ANNNNND they found my medical records *FINALLY*. It
took my Dr's surgical nurse ripping the St. Davids
records folks a new one, but it turns out that my
records were being stored off-site, and MY numerous
unsuccessful requests wasn't enough incentive for them
to look up that fact and get on the ball. Oh well,
they're found and Dr. Davis will know what the hell
he's dealing with now.
Tomorrow Aunt L's taking me to my appointment. I was
under the impression initally that it was going to be
done under local anesthesia, but it's actually going
to be general. Ick, I hate being knocked out.
There's a 15% chance that he won't be able to implant
the Essure springy things and if that happens, he'll
just do a regular belly-button tubal ligation. Either
way, I still have to wait a few months for the
ablation. dammit. Oh well. first step is almost done.
And, maybe once he sees my records, he'll change his
mind about not doing everything at the same time.
I heard "Fur Elise" THREE fricken times yesterday, at
different points during the day. I feel certain it was
a message from my mom's mom, whose name was Elise. I
think she disapproves of me not having babies...but,
that's too bad.
In addition to NOT giving W. & friends more kids to
kill in stupid wars, not giving the world more
pollution, etc... I feel pretty good about this :)
And since I know poly people, I have a starting point
to direct Sweetie if he ever decides he wants babies and
wants me too. That'd be wierd, but we'll burn that
bridge when we come to it...
