Saturday, checked PO box, went to REI--Got a sports bra that fits!!,
went to whole foods & got nuts to have in my desk at work for snacks.
went to the Alamo Drafthouse rolling roadshow--train to Burnet, film
of Buster Keaton's The General, dinner, dessert, 1 free beer & more
for sale on the train & in the field where the movie was, and then a
train ride back home. Monica & Joey were there, so we caught up a
bit. That was fun.
Today was just about perfect, I think. I slept in, drank coffee with
my Sweetie, then went to Hippie Hollow with Savanni & Kat. The weather
was beautiful, the water was cold (but tolerable once you got in and
moved around a bit)...it was heaven to feel the warm sun and the wind
on my body, to watch the boats and the waves and the clouds going by.
I enjoyed the company, as well. Beautiful, smart people always make
the day pass pleasantly.
I love being in my 30s. I'm healthy and attractive and no longer too
terribly hung up about my body--the bloom of youth is not gone, and
I've got enough maturity not to be foolish about it. I've got it all
& a trunk to put it in! (mostly. usually. need to remember to be this
way more often...)
We watched a storm moving closer, and finally decided it was time to
go on. As we left, the sprinkles began. The rain in the distance
turned the Texas hills into Misty Elsewhere. And finally, after
driving through some really hard rain, we came out on the other side
to a rainbow that went from one end of the sky to the other.
When I got home I called my mom & we talked about what we're going to
do and what I should bring for the MT trip. It was great to hear her
so excited and happy. She is happy for [brother A] & The Rubber Pig & already loves
his fiancee's little girls (called the youngest "my little
granddaughter Yummy" when referring to her upcoming birthday) and my
Uncle Bubba is speaking with her again (yay for zoloft or zanax or
whatever he's taking!) & coming to visit & also making plans to get
to know my brother's fiancee & her kids--he's going to the birthday
party for Yummy on the 15th...so her world is good because all of her
loved ones are at peace. I will do whatever I can to keep it that way.
As I was fixing dinner, I saw a giant blue-grey waterbird swooping
down into the creek. Gorgeous!!
Today has been a beautiful blessing.
