1405the weekend

Saturday: up around 9, went to PO box & grocery store. Back home,
listened to flashback lunch, took a nap from 1-3. Up again. Went to
FAdo, missed the B. Bards singing, but saw Marc and Brigid from "holy
well, sacred flame" as Oberon and Titania in a short version of
Midsummer NIghts Dream. Bad skunky Harp. Bad skunky $4.75 Harp. Bleh.
4pm, went to Pease Park, said hey to Terwin, Kim, UB, sonarOm, and
some other folkx. UB was having trouble with her truck. She tried
to manipulate people into fixing it for her. Everyone sort of took a
look (well, a couple of man folk and a girl folk) and told her to
take it in and have it looked at. One girl checked the fluid levels
and told her the brake fluid was between 'low' and 'medium' so
advised to maybe put in more brake fluid. UB acted all helpless,
where do I get this stuff, how do I put it in, wah wah, and nobody
volunteered to get it for her or help her put it in. It was pretty
cool & entertaining to watch.
Didn't want to go home, didn't want to go downtown to the GWNN thing
(mostly due to not liking the area that Elysium is in, not wanting to
find parking, bla bla, also not knowing if anyone I knew was gonna be
there) so I went to Poly 101 instead. That rather sucked. The topic
was Poly Activism, and Galen the facilitator, hadn't done much
research, nobody at the gathering was really all that activist. So it
fizzled. This one guy WArren treated me like I was an idiot because I
attempted to make a joke...and then at the end of the evening this
creepy homeless guy invited himself to come visit our table, so I
left. Spider House was closing in 15 min. for a private event,
anyway. On the way out, I saw the guy who played Puck and the lady
who was Titania sitting at one of the tables. I interrupted them and
told them how much I enjoyed their performance today. I felt rude,
but they were gracious.
Then I came home, got ready to go to Pace's party & then changed my
mind. Not in a social mood, not really feeling that great, not
wanting to run into X, not knowing if anyone besides Pace & Erinlefey
would be there that I knew & liked, not wanting to see screaming God
woman again...just....not. So I surfed LJ & D'land, went to bed
around midnight
Today: up at 10 am. Sat around until after flashback lunch. Dyed my
hair Black Cherry again, went to the gym & just wasn't into it at
all, so I was off to Drandmir, changed my mind about halfway down
Braker, just went home. Napped from 3:30-5:30 Sweetie woke me up with a
phone call from [brother A]. I can't remember if he said for me to call him
later or that he was going to call me later...but he never called me.
Watched Simpsons, King of the HIll & Malcolm. Then we went to HEB and
got chicken & bread & shiner bock for dinner, and that was my amazing
Sunday.

Happy Monday. Hope you survived Mothers Day with a
minimum of angst. I mostly slept, recolored my hair &
went to the gym....pretty dull day.
"Identity" was cool--it gave me nightmares, though. It
was good to see e. We got in a little visit--the
7:40 showing at the Draft House was sold out, so we
went up the road & got tickets for the 9:10 show, and
then went and had drinks at Bahama Breeze, a very
cheezy Carribbean-themed restaurant. She didn't know
the whole X story (whether because I didn't tell
her or she forgot, I don't know--I could swear I told
her a little something about it when I was trying to
find someone else to attend the great esc. weekend &
she turned me down..ANYWAY) So, we had a nice visit,
saw a really good (if terrifying) movie, and it was a
good evening.
Saturday, I just wasn't very motivated, but I did get
out to Fado for a bit, saw the Brobdingnagian Bards,
saw a 'highlights' read-thru of Midsummer Nights
Dream, and then went to the park where I saw HFS
people, including UB & Mallomar. He was in his own
truck! She had apparently driven down all by herself.
She was driving with the ABS engaged. Apparently it
turned itself on sometime Friday night, halfway from
Austin to Rockdale (50-60 miles), and then instead of
going to get it fixed on Sat. she hitched up the
horses & drove all the way back down from Rockdale to
Austin with the brake on. (The horses are looking a
bit thin, BTW, and she said something about them being
out of grass at their place...I will keep an eye on
this and call animal control if the horses look too
starved next time I see them)
She was acting all helpless & trying to get someone to
fix her ABS for her, but nobody fell for it. Then
someone suggested she add brake fluid, and she was all
like "Oh, what is brake fluid & where do I buy it and
where do I put it and will I get my blouse dirty?"
wah-wah. Nobody volunteered to do it for her. I was
glad for that.
Apparently she started a new job on the 7th--she is a
security guard at some truckyard someplace. Of course,
her first 'cute work story' involves chasing a truck
driver with a horsewhip. So cute, so funny. WTF!?!
I am dying to see her in her uniform--supposedly it is
'just like' an APD uniform, but with a patch for the
security co. rather than a badge. I wouldn't believe
they'd hire someone like her, let alone have a uniform
in her size, if I hadn't seen some of the slobby
people we have working security for our building.
She also apparently wants 2 more horses & a trailer to
haul them with and is dithering about whether to get a
conversion van to tow a new trailer & 4 horses, or
whether to get a horse trailer w/living quarters
included & a Ram 3500 diesel to tow with. Because
she's got this great new $8.50 an hour job and stuff,
so she can go out and blow 80 grand on this pipe
dream. Crazy stupid beeyotch. If the land they have is
grazed-out with only 2 horses on it, this early in the
year, there's NO way she needs 2 more.
I am going to watch the horses carefully. Right now
they are thin/muscular, but they don't seem to have
any reserves of fat at all. That worries me.
*sigh* Monday. The good news is: the Bindlestiff
Family Cirkus is touring again, they're in town &
we're going to see them tonight!

Mother's Day was good actually. We hung out for a couple of hours,
giggled over this dictionary of slang that my brother got (pants
rabbits = lice; boo-hog = fat chick), and then went out for dinner.
We went to Celia's, a Mexican place not far from where they live. We
had been there several times when we all lived in Bay Point - but now
it's like 5 minutes away from them. Awesome.
When Rick was here (in SF) last week, he treated me to dinner, so I
got us shots of Cabo Wabo tequila, which was AWESOME. Very smooth -
I didn't get that yechy liquor face at all.
My mom loved her presents, which was nice - and then I came home.
I didn't do jack on Saturday (well, except Mother's Day shopping)
because I was hungover from Friday.
Wooooooodoggie. Went to wine hour - I wasn't going to, but the copy
people LOST AN ORIGINAL DOCUMENT (which I found in their fucking
recycle bin) so I seriously needed to get my drink on. After that
kind of wound down, I went with Bill & Helen to Tango Tango for
karaoke. Which was fun. Didn't get home until 2ish. Pepper was
good (thank GOD) no mess in the house.
I did kind of a bad thing. Welll.... it turned out fine, but it
could have turned out bad. So - I took a cab home. I mashed with
the driver. Eeeeee! Scary!
But I am okay, and chastened, and will never get that bombed again.
I mean, he could have taken me somewhere and... well.
I heard Identity was super scary - like, scarier than The Ring, which
scared me pretty much shitless.
Oh. John Bullock is the most pretentious, pompous ass I have ever
met. At wine hour, he was talking about being a "novelist" and
stuff. Also, all these things he did & saw in Europe. He
mispronounced every French word he uttered. I wasn't drunk enough to
correct him. Which is probably a good thing.
UB is a FREAK. And I am glad you're keeping an eye on the horses.
Very sad.

ps: the thing with the horses that really bugs me is
that sineater ought to be noticing this stuff...shouldn't
he? Maybe not, since he sees them daily & maybe the
weight loss has been gradual...but *I* am watching
them, and I will remember my camera next time, and I
will be SURE and get pictures to justify my alerting
the authorities when/if that becomes necessary.
What kills me is that sineater lets her abuse the horses,
scream at him & them, and never says or does anything,
I guess because her family supposedly owns horses &
she is supposedly the one who is the 'expert' between
the two of them.
I continue to praise & thank god/ess that she is too
unhealthy to get pregnant & carry to term.

sineater should notice - if he has, though, he probably wouldn't say
anything.
It is a v.g. thing indeed that they don't/can't have kids.
OMG - I forgot to tell you this. It's hilarious. So - one of the
drivers at my mom's work is taking all this time off because both of
her daughters are pregnant. Both unmarried, both teenagers.
So, my mom & Laura (her boss/friend) get into a discussion about
having kids without benefit of marriage, teen pregnancy, etc. Laura
said something about it would be one thing if I wasn't married and
decided to have kids, because I am older, educated, professional, etc.
Which is hilarious on it's own - but then my mom went off on having
kids out of wedlock is bad no matter what your social status, bla bla
bla, and anyway, "J-Law loathes kids, so I have pretty much written off
being a grandmother."
Oooh - fun day today. Pasha, secretary & buddy, is having her
birthday lunch today. At Plouf. Am very excited - I wasn't going to
be able to go, bu the earnest $ refund means I am flush again! Yay!
