evile: happy tuesday. Hope you had a nice weekend :)
SkyeDS: how was yours? :) melting pot sounded good :)
evile: the weekend itself was fairly suck, but dinner last night was
awesome.
SkyeDS: had a good time sunday even though got rained on and was cold
evile: yeah. I stayed inside & snoozed, except for a brief outing
for brunch w/Sweetie
evile: Mom drove to Austin Sunday a.m. and apparently I mised a call
from her while we were out, and then I didn't check the machine. She
needed a break, is going back down there today
SkyeDS: not surprised about the needing a break
evile: Apparently things are pretty bad down there...there were
things Mom said she wasn't going to tell me.
evile: While the 3 midwives helped rubber_pig have her baby, rubber_pig's mom
took my mom aside and told her all this hellacious garbage, bashed on
[brother A], and then said "In a year, rubber_pig will be pregnant again with
another man's child and [brother A] will be gone"...(from your lips to the
gods' ears, lady)
SkyeDS: ..........
evile: Completely inappropriate time/place/audience for that
harangue, but I probably agree with her.
SkyeDS: and that's jsut what your mom is willing to tell you......
evile: yeah, exactly. The good news is that Mom is now completely
over her guilt-trips, and will not come a'runnin' whenever [brother A] and
rubber_pig have Drama.
evile: She has decided to go back to IN, and find a job with a real
school so she will have breaks to come down and visit, but is no
longer committed to putting her life on hold to 'be there' for [brother A]
and rubber_pig and the baby
SkyeDS: good news!
evile: Yup. Too bad it took such a lot of stress to bring her to that
point...she is literally counting the days until stepdad/G comes to get
her.
SkyeDS: lessons learned the hard way last longest tho
evile: I figure Aunt L will fill me in on whatever Mom didn't tell
me....I don't know if I really want to know...will ___ be the piece
of information that sends me to San Antonio with an axe?
SkyeDS: is the child a boy or a girl?
evile: girl
evile: Oh, and rubber_pig's mom accused my mom of fucking Lamar S
(Trey's dad) back in the day, is that disgusting or WHAT.
SkyeDS: not even going to comment
evile: Lamar and his wife did have an open marriage, but mom
certainly didn't.
evile: Mom just laughed in her face. rubber_pig's mom is a wackadoo.
evile: Mom still wants a relationship wiht the baby once everything
is over, but everyone seems to be realistic at this point. It's quite
a relief not to be the only one who sees things as they are and as
they likely will be.
evile: There really isn't any vindication in being right when it
means that people you love get hurt.
evile: I slept all day Sunday...I dont' know if it was fallout from
the puppy pile or family stress , or what...but I was just exhausted.
SkyeDS: nodnods <hugs>
evile: thanks. :)
evile: Ladydreamtime says one of the restaurants she recommended has fondue
on the menu. I hope that gets picked as one of the places we go this
month :)
SkyeDS: melting pot sounds really good, I'm glad Jinx had a good
time
evile: I was worried that since the rest of us know each other, she'd
get left out, but I think we did good at keeping the conversation
accessible to everyone.
SkyeDS: saw Sharjinka's house friday night, it is too perfect.
evile: ya know, if you just did cheese and dessert fondue, you could
get out of there for under $30 for 2 people...more if you got drinks.
evile: I love her study. I can't wait to see it in good sunlight.
SkyeDS: I am so happy for her
evile: yeah, it's a great house.
SkyeDS: she's got it going on now in so many different ways
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I w ish the kids she loves would quit acting like, well, kids
evile: yeah...that's just the way groups work, though...
SkyeDS: they're damn well old enough to keep personal attack out of a
difference of opinion
evile: *nod*
evile: the PP party made me sad. Nobody approached me at all. It
makes me sad that people like Seamus McStinkypants feel free to
approach me and even pursue me, and then I go to a party with a whole
bunch of nice people and they don't find me approachable at all...
SkyeDS: I wasn't there of course, but I think it might not have had
anything to do with you
evile: who knows.
evile: I'm glad I went, even thought I was afraid, but I don't think
I'll go to another one.
evile: I did have some nice conversations, with onyxlynxx and Nikiyoy and
(Roninjedi) and nosugarsadded (you and I met up with her at the
Friday nite bellydance show that one time)
evile: Did you get to that BBQ place, by the way? How was it?
SkyeDS: went somewhere else because it was raining
SkyeDS: enjoyed it last time tho
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: wanted to take parentals but there will be other weekends
SkyeDS: the kids are flaking out on rent already
evile: *nod*
evile: Yuck. I'm sorry to hear that!
SkyeDS: so it's a good thing that Hugh without being asked
volunteered to write payroll before vacation and not after
evile: that was nice of him.
SkyeDS: was his own idea too. I asked him to put money in the
account so I could pay bills, and he said add payroll in my total
evile: cool boss :)
SkyeDS: yeah he is
evile: y'all are getting ready to take off pretty soon, here.
SkyeDS: nodnod
evile: that looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. my buds on LJ
who are SCA are all atwitter.
SkyeDS: since it's midmonth, it's hitting two paychecks a nd not just
one, and it isn't going to be that big a hole
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: Jubilee talked keject into going, I have no idea how they can
afford it being college kids
SkyeDS: and they can't caravan with us, either
evile: that's a long haul for just 2 people taking turns driving. but
they're young. I did stuff like that when I was 21.
SkyeDS: nodnod
evile: no money, no planning, no reliable auto, and boom, 24 hours
later, I'm 5 states away...
SkyeDS: I'm hoping to get them authorized as groundcrew and to ride,
and if they help with the games, they will have an excellent
education towards helping me bring the games to HFS
evile: *nod* that would be cool.
SkyeDS: you have time off later this mon th, no?
SkyeDS: so a whole week next week would be Bad <(tm)
evile: My boss would never ever let me have a whole week off, anyway.
evile: No point in asking.
evile: I get to sneak in a little friday to monday and pray like hell
that it wont' make the top of her head blow off.
evile: it's my fricken leave, I earned it and she actsl ike I have no
right to take it.
SkyeDS: I am amazed that Hugh let me take off same time
SkyeDS: and then rather than let the machine take calls he's going
to pay the one secretary who will be here to take msgs
evile: wow. that's cool.
evile: Looks like I missed a good party at Leo's.
SkyeDS: wish I could be at home playing outside
evile: Yup. I had a good sick day yesterday.
SkyeDS: I did a completely irresponsible thing Friday
SkyeDS: I completely forgot I had a lesson
SkyeDS: and sineater and I went over to Sharjinka's till past midnight
evile: oh, wow....
SkyeDS: I called her first thing next morning and a pologized and
rescheduled
SkyeDS: last time she missed one, she didn't call, I missed hours of
work
evile: sounds like you did the best possible t hing.
SkyeDS: and I didn't hear from her for 3 weeks
evile: well, sometimes you just have to be better than other people &
treat them better than they treated you. esp. if $ is involved..
SkyeDS: I felt VERY bad
evile: *nod* I'm sure. Because you understand what it feels like to
be put out because someone forgot a commitment.
evile: we are human, we make mistakes. Apologizing and trying to do
better is the best way to handle it.
SkyeDS: this puts his next lesson on THursday when my parents are here
SkyeDS: which won't be a good thing if he continues in the "worse"
cycle
evile: I'm sure your parents will understand that you need to work
before you can socialize with them...
SkyeDS: that's not what I'm worried about
SkyeDS: I'm worried about him behaving very badly in front of them
SkyeDS: if he does, I'll deal, same as if they weren't there
evile: exactly
evile: the needs of the lesson will outweigh any 'good impression'
you might want to make on the parents.
SkyeDS: well if he pulls the same thing for a third lesson in a row,
he will find himself with a brush in his hand for an hour
SkyeDS: because if he keeps insisting that he's scared, I can't
possibly put him on the horse, now can I
evile: *nod*
evile: Maybe you can send your parents on an errand while you
teach...or sit them down with a movie in the living room...
SkyeDS: maybe having them around will persuade him not to play drama
games with me
SkyeDS: maybe not
SkyeDS: <shrug>
SkyeDS: Justina needs to seriously sit down and watch SuperNanny or
Nanny911
evile: People who need that kind of kick in the ass would never
actually see the mirror that show would provide for them.
evile: wow. Interesting convo on the LJ polyamory community
http://www.livejournal.com/community/polyamory/1310033.html
evile: someone ought to send the text to Seamus McStinkypants.
SkyeDS: wow long
evile: *nod* but a lot of good points, IMHO.
evile: I liked reading ladydreamtime's exchange of ideas, she's usually very
private about stuff, so it's interesting to get insight into her life
& how she makes everything work so well.
SkyeDS: nodnod
evile: well, it's go-time. I hope your evening is pleasant :)
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
