evile: tgif :)
SkyeDS: amen :)
evile: anything fun this weekend?
SkyeDS: half day today, work / practice day tomorrow, HFS Sunday -
i.e. same old same old
evile: *nod* I heard they're doing Mini court sunday?
SkyeDS: nods
SkyeDS: and hopefully we'll have most of not all of our course ready
to take, t oo
evile: our friend Jaime is performing at the bellydance/fire show at
NM on Saturday :)
SkyeDS: Jaime who is married to Kathleen?
evile: yup
SkyeDS: who bears some resemblence to larry the cable guy?
evile: wouldn't know about that, I have no idea who that is.
SkyeDS: stocky, good ole southern boy
SkyeDS: that probably doesn't help does it
evile: *shrug* You are thinking of the correct Jaime if you're
thinking of Kathleen's Jaime/formerly Donna's Jaime.
SkyeDS: wow! tell me how that goes! awesome for him :)
evile: His friend Sharon spins fire and DJs for the dancers, and his
friend/bandmate/Sharon's husband Steve plays live music there
regularly for bellydance & fire nite.
SkyeDS: I can't remember whether Kathleen &/or Jaime were at ESA
helping the fire dancers there or not
evile: I know Jaime was there, I dont' know what he was doing, other
than sound board
SkyeDS: I thought so but my memory is so vague
SkyeDS: there were so many people there I knew to differing degrees
evile: yup
SkyeDS: your mom sent me a pair of shoes for my birthday
SkyeDS: says she has an email addy - so I need to email her a thank
you note
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I made the mistake of putting them on after work and driving
yesterday, without hose
evile: [K/mom email address]
SkyeDS: they will be happiermaking when I put them on first thing in
the morning, with hose :)
SkyeDS: I'm going to call them the Cinderella slippers :)
evile: *nod*
evile: Pub last night was so odd...one of the people that came out is
a guy I met in 1989-90, one of hte RHPS people.
SkyeDS: some of our Shire are going to crash the Irish Pub in Killeen
after next coronation, when the Bards are there
evile: that'll be fun.
SkyeDS: the pub is cool, specially when the bards are there, genuine
shepherd's pie, etc
SkyeDS: I saw Tamdeer there once
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I didn't recognize her initially, her hair was a different
color and she was fully dressed, I was so embarassed LOL
SkyeDS: but by now nobody expects any better of me, everyone knows
I'm a bull in a social china closet
evile: I was disappointed to be out of town the same weekend as the
pony party out at [captain scarlet's], because Tandeer was goin to be there.
evile: Tandeer is pretty gracious & outgoing, probably didn't really
offend her.
SkyeDS: we had a good time. Her date stood her up, moron
evile: yeah..she seems to be do ing better with that these days. she
has her hub, a dom, and a sub :)
SkyeDS: busy busy. I found the hard way I don't have energy for 3
people
evile: *nod*
evile: 1+ of her bdsm playmates may be an LDR
SkyeDS: you'd have thought it wouldnt' take me twice either, b ut now
that I think about it, I've had 3 not once but twice
SkyeDS: sineater, kaleon, Will
SkyeDS: Will was long distance, he came here from New Zealand for
two weeks, pushed me to leave sineater and kaleon and the children and
move to NZ to be mono
SkyeDS: and Will would never have happened but kaleon pushed the both
of us past where we were both perfectly happy and comfortable
SkyeDS: and then bitched bitterly
SkyeDS: but anyway
SkyeDS: and then there was sineater, kaleon and sonar0m
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I think kaleon was better as an LDR
evile: some people are better in smaller doses.
evile: &/.or strictly online
SkyeDS: going to visit him in his dorm room 9 times a year for a long
weekend wasn't going to survive after he graduated
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: when he got out on his own, he was not inclined to share the
burden of travel <shrug>
SkyeDS: playing online is a good way to get your feet wet in the kink
pond
evile: yeah.
SkyeDS: but eventually you need to grow past that, no?
evile: I think so.
SkyeDS: or not pretend to be an expert in that which you are not
evile: yup
SkyeDS: I know I have lots of ego problems, but I am happy that I
have no problem saying with alacrity and no shame or guilt, "I don't
know anything about that"
SkyeDS: followed by "but I will find out" if necessary
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I was doing totem research earlier. I have too many.
SkyeDS: want to torture a Gemini? "Choose!"
evile: *nod* :)
SkyeDS: I think that's the one advantage launchcast has over Sirius/XM
SkyeDS: even tho there are commercials, I can listen to every kind of
everything I like to listen to without changing channels
evile: yup.
SkyeDS: even if it is jarring to hear the monkees, poison, ronnie
milsap, and then phantom or music man
evile: I am liking 'fan stations' these days
SkyeDS: omg I thought I was going to throw up, it played the Jackson
5 singing Pippin
evile: eeps!
SkyeDS: I could not get to the mouse fast enough, I nearly injured
myself
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: how do fan stations operate
SkyeDS: I'm never happy with just my own numerous addictions now,
always happy to borrow yours too ya know
evile: if you click on or search the band name you like, it will
show stations on which that band is played. and then you can
click 'fan station' and get things related/in the genre/liked by fans
of the band.
evile: right now I'm listening to the Oingo Boingo fan station
http://music.yahoo.com/ar-259267---Oingo-Boingo
evile: and it's playing Dead Can Dance. I think you'd like some of
their stuff. techno/arabic
evile: they are supposedly 'goth'...but I don't remember listening to
them until very recently
SkyeDS: I remember the first time someone told me I was Goth, I had
no clue what they were talking about LOL
SkyeDS: (I was in black garb at the time)
SkyeDS: I spent HOURS following "if you like x you'll like these
similar/related artists (y, z)" when I was first doing launchcast
SkyeDS: I love Elfman, and I liked "Gratitude", OB from Beverly Hills
Cop
SkyeDS: just like a cat, following this string, and then oh look
there's another one, let's follow that, and then oh look, there's
another, a nd another and....
evile: *nod* me too. I have discovered a lot of music since starting
my Launchcast subscription
evile: too bad there's no nose-plug equivalent of earphones for when
the coworkers make foulness in the microwave.
SkyeDS: yuck
SkyeDS: /me hands you an oxygen mask
evile: it may just be my own body chemistry making me sensitive to
smells
evile: heehee. thanks :)
SkyeDS: I'm unusually sensitive to smell all the time. I couldn't
eat breakfast at the table when Daddy was reading the newspaper, I
was so sensitive to it
SkyeDS: and there are a number of migraineurs now that are smell
triggered too
evile: *nod* I think mine is dependent on hormones. Now that I''m off
depo and cycling normally-ish again
SkyeDS: by cycling, you don't mean ovulating and/or bleeding do you?
not after teh ablation? not bleeding anyway right?
evile: I do ovulate, but they don't go anywhere. & I spot about 3
days a month, about every 25 days.
SkyeDS: for the longest while on the pill all I did was spot a few
days, I miss that
evile: I was hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones that doesn't bleed
at all..but mild spotting is nothing compared to the misery of my
early 20's.
evile: *headdeskvodkashot* A friend of mine, pretty much fresh out of
college, thinks that the temp agency is calling him at "odd times"
when they call him before 8 a.m....
SkyeDS: LOL
evile: I guess university needs to have a "Real World 101" class for
some people.
SkyeDS: tell him to sub - they'll call him right after 5 am for
elementary
evile: hehe. He'd probably get mad at them.
evile: the thing about temps is if they call you more than once or
twice and you dont' answer, or aren't available, they don't bother to
call you again.
SkyeDS: nods, and if you ever walk out before finishing a contract
evile: yup.
evile: I did that once...last day of my contract, boss lady & her
assistant had gone on vacation, I ran out of supplies for my project,
didn't see any reason to hang around with nothing to do...big mistake.
evile: When I came back to Austin the next summer and called them
they told me I was on the no-rehire list.
evile: If I went back today, they'd probably still have me on file
as 'do not rehire' ...
evile: if anyone thinks I'm unforgiving, I'll tell them to go talk to
Today's Temporary--they've got the patent on it!
evile: my launchcast played John Williams and Mozart back to
back...that was interesting.
SkyeDS: hehe :)
SkyeDS: listening to Bossman's Miles Davis & similar now that he's
here
evile: *nod* that is not torture or anything :)
SkyeDS: not at all
evile: sometimes it's helpful to stick to one genre, it helps the
music fade into the background a bit so you can focus on whatever
you're doing.
SkyeDS: I told him he ought to just go home and stay there.
SkyeDS: he's not going to be the least bit productive today
evile: it's been a long week, all that traveling.
SkyeDS: I'm leaving in 15 minutes
evile: cool. :)
evile: Blondie to Louis Armstrong. whee!
SkyeDS: lol
SkyeDS: well, guess I'll go so I can finish what I have to do to go
to the bank
SkyeDS: HUGS wind to your wings the rest of the afternoon
evile: Ok. have a good weekend.
SkyeDS: ty u2! :D
