evile: hola :)
SkyeDS: how do :)
SkyeDS: I revamped the webpage, with help from Michael and sineater, but
just help, they didn't do it for me, so I'm proud of me
SkyeDS: bellaperegrina.netfirms.com
evile: good for you:)
SkyeDS: :)
evile: cool site :)
SkyeDS: now t hat I have the hang of how it works I can update it all
I want
SkyeDS: put a calendar up on it eventually
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: keep tinkering with the metatags to make sure we get maximum
search engine exposure
evile: yup. Marc from the B. bards is good with those.
evile: There was literally nothing to do when I got to work today. I
should have taken 2 days off.
SkyeDS: :|
evile: Oh well. I can dick around with my LJ and such.
evile: Tonight is poly dinner, PNO 'classic' at Dog & Duck, and Pub
at Opal's, AND gev's bday. He wants to do pub and see the batman
movie. whew!
SkyeDS: busy busy bee
evile: I don't know whatall I'm going to be able to get to. Poly
dinner, for sure, and the rest...?
evile: e.'s out of town, so I could theoreticallly stay out late
Friday night and miss yoga if I felt like it.
evile: Saturday, Ladydreamtime & Rainking1 are celebrating Rainking1's bday at Dave &
Busters :)
evile: and sunday we're toobin.
SkyeDS: D&B w dreamtime sounds like a winner
evile: oh, and Saturday night is bellydance/fire at NM, with Drakon
as a guest dancer.
evile: I hope so. Rainking1's been a little down lately, so I think it'll
be good for him to get out and have fun with friends.
evile: I got prosetylized on the bus this a.m. by Chatty
Cathy...somethin's gotta give on that situation, I can't nod and
smile too much longer
SkyeDS: just on the bus you could wear some overly large religious
symbol, pick one
SkyeDS: that might stop the proselytizing specifically, but not the
chattycathies in general
SkyeDS: or be wearing headphones, whether you're listening to
anything or not
evile: probably make it worse, actually.
evile: (the religious symbol waring). Lots of folks on teh bus are
bible-toters. If I was too overtly non-xtian, they'd probably gang up
on me & hold an exorcism.
SkyeDS: I was thinking a big cross but I think headphones are a
better idea
SkyeDS: specially if they're those great big like yellow ones
evile: headphones might be good. I am thinking getting up 15 min.
earlier or leaving the house 15 min. later might work...15 min later
preferably, but that has a tendency to get me to work about 5-10
min. after my Official start time.
SkyeDS: I know the big ones are heavy and such, but they're also
extremely visible, and about as polite as you can be without saying
outloud, don't talk to me
evile: Obviously I need this challenge/lesson. Ugh.
SkyeDS: :|
evile: I just hate being rude. even to strangers. But at some point,
being nice ends up turning into 'being a doormat' and at that point,
it has to STOP. When I'm hurting myself in order to be nice to
someone else, it must stop.
SkyeDS: just wear headphones that are big enough to be seen
SkyeDS: as long as you're at it maybe get something portable and
actually listen to stuff
evile: *nod* I will probably go with the avoidance route, but that's
a good plan B :)
SkyeDS: I wouldn't suggest doing what I did at DFW airport once
SkyeDS: although it was entertaining
evile: I dont' want to get thrown off the bus, mass-exorcised, or
cause any kind of scene. I see many of the same faces daily, coming
and going, and some of them probably observe when I enter/exit from
my home. It really doesn't do to make enemies unnecessarily.
SkyeDS: omg a credit card just tripled my credit limit
SkyeDS: wtf
SkyeDS: guess that's what happens when you start paying double the
minimum every month?
SkyeDS: they decide you need more credit?
evile: If it was just a random bus ride, random stranger, 1-off type
situation, I might be more tempted to say I was a card-carrying
discordian and "fuck off, lady," but....eh. Not worth it.
SkyeDS: and you'd end up with fascinated children in your lap
anyway...
evile: they dont' want you to pay them off...they make mroe $ off you
when you're just paying interest.
SkyeDS: asking you to sing Puff the magic dragon
evile: <===doesn't sing.
SkyeDS: there must be something about me, i ntangible to me, but
tangible to children, that says Other
SkyeDS: even when I'm dressed mundanely
evile: I'm usually pretty good at avoiding strange kids.
evile: I really like D's & kulilinei's, though :)
SkyeDS: because that's the way kids should be
evile: Rio's boy is turning 12 on Friday. He's cool, too.
evile: he's starting to do the preteen boy thing, so he's not as
sunny as he used to be.
SkyeDS: I do love my launchcast :)
evile: yup. it's a real lifesaver around here.
SkyeDS: just bought 3 imported saris for $50 s/h incl
evile: cool :)
SkyeDS: and about to nail 2 custom tailored salwar kameez for about
that
SkyeDS: and I can wear salwar kameez to work too
evile: very cool.
SkyeDS: actually I really don't think Hugh cares what I wear to work,
that's more what the other women think of me
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I don't know that I want to spend the gas to go to SA on
Saturday when we're going to GT Sunday and Tyler Monday... :|
evile: what's in San antonio? Waht is GT? What's in Tyler?
SkyeDS: I wonder if parentals will come visit Raven's Loft, it isn't
that far from Texarkana, certainly closer than a v isit to the ranch
SkyeDS: otter chaos is first saturday?
evile: that could be cool.
SkyeDS: GT = georgetown (I'm lazy)
evile: Oh...Otter Chaos is July 2.
SkyeDS: I get another opportunity to test my newfound resolves and
boundaries
SkyeDS: [skye's brother] and his kids will be at the family reunion
SkyeDS: he wants an apology, but doesn't think he needs to reciprocate
SkyeDS: so I'm going to play with his kids and ignore him (that's the
plan anyway)
evile: lots of ways to apologize without saying you feel guilty/at
fault.
SkyeDS: I know, I'm an expert at specifically tailored apologies,
like fake handbags
SkyeDS: but I'm not so inclined
evile: and, truthfully, you can say you regret the bad feelings
between you, because you know it upsets the family for you to be at
odds.
SkyeDS: that's what I meant, july 4 weekend
SkyeDS: not this next
SkyeDS: or more truthfully, I'm sad that it has come to this
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: if he wants an apology for what I did to him (which I know I
shouldn't have done but I'm still not sorry for even if I was wrong)
SkyeDS: he isn't getting it
SkyeDS: I paid the karmic debt, like within 3 days after I did it
SkyeDS: and it was worth it
SkyeDS: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
ViewItem&item=5401276040&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_ReBay_Pr3_PcY_BID > you
would look good in
evile: that, plus a few extra layers, maybe. Good color, though
SkyeDS: gorgeous color, your color too
SkyeDS: you can get opaque stocking things to go between the choli
and the skirt
SkyeDS: they sell them for "plus" sizes
evile: Yup. One of the ladies that dances frequently with Z helene
wears one
SkyeDS: LOL if you think 401K is your mother in law's bra size you
might be a redneck
evile: Malena(?) I think. She sings opera, and her build is very
suited to that. Her voice is incredible.
SkyeDS: altos tend to be big women
SkyeDS: sopranos tend to be little bitty
SkyeDS: eg, the deeper the voice, t he bigger the body, and vice versa
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: then there are those of us in the middle, with bigger ranges
than normal - mine is contralto, alto, mezzo soprano, but I'm built
more like an alto
evile: e. wants to go shopping on the 30th. Maybe we'll go fabric
& bead shopping, because I can't imagine clothes shopping with her.
SkyeDS: I like it when Mom buys me clothes. She has excellent taste.
SkyeDS: let me rephrase that. Not so much her paying for them, I can
do that myself, but her picking them out.
evile: My mom sends me random stuff. Some of it is wear-able.
SkyeDS: but typically what happens because she knows my size so well
is she just buys stuff and gives it to me
evile: *nod*
evile: I'm kind of in spring cleaning mode, I just want to throw out
everything I own and start over.
SkyeDS: nothing wrong with that
SkyeDS: unless you throw away things with sentimental value
evile: *nod*
evile: usually I throw things out and then a week later, discover
that I need whatever it was I just tossed.
evile: which is almost as annoying as some certain person I live with
who says "I can't find my ___" and goes to buy another one...when if
he'd just clean his work spaces and put things back where he got them
from,he'd know where all 7 of the same thing was at any given time.
SkyeDS: golly gee, where have I heard that before....
SkyeDS: I've enjoyed the week of boss being gone, I've had the intern
doing all the filing and office cleaning I don't like to do
evile: cool :)
evile: You've got to see my shrine box; D wants to make them for
craft shows. They're gorgeous :) Hers is even more beautiful than
mine. She's working on a Kwan Yin shrine box for Rio.
SkyeDS: got asked by several people if I were celebrating full
moon/solstice
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: I should feel guilty that I didn't, but I don't
SkyeDS: <loves shrine-like anything
evile: your spiritual walk shouldn't make you feel bad/guilty. I
think it's a good sign that you arent'.

renfaires
SkyeDS: I really like the pavilions that vendor has to offer
SkyeDS: had white period dagged ezups, green ones, a nice white hex,
and a pretty European round one
evile: that looks cool. :)
SkyeDS: I really had to choose between this one and the round one
SkyeDS: the round one is more Romany, I think, because the Romany had
bender tents (round on top)
SkyeDS: matter of fact, the vardos everyone's so fond of making that
cost so much, aren't period.
SkyeDS: apparently what IS period, is a wagon with a bender tent on
top
SkyeDS: that looks for all the world like a covered connestoga wagon
SkyeDS: I may end up getting the round one eventually anyway, now
that we can afford to do
evile: *nod*
evile: Mermaid Moon had a really cute wooden gazebo in their side
yard that I thought was a perfect size for my back yard.
SkyeDS: what a pretty name
evile: It was a great little shop.
evile: I really like Bawdsey Manor's new area; it's in a victorian-
style house, in a little 'village' of other houses of various sizes &
styles, all of them are funky little shops. Lots of "country duck"
garbage, but lots of really neat stuff, too.
SkyeDS: where tis?
evile: slightly north of San Antonio.
evile: On the same road as Rolling Oaks Mall, but a littie further
out into the country.
evile: (mind is blanking on the name of the road...ugh)
evile: Nacogdoches Rd. there ya go.
Here's where we sat
http://www.bawdseymanor.com/images/new_bm/bm10.jpg
SkyeDS: :D
evile: I love their landscaping outside, too.
evile: Jaden was bored to death, but he behaved impeccably.
SkyeDS: used to be you had to or else
evile: its' still that way at Rio & Dee's houses, apparently :)
SkyeDS: and probably will be at kulilinei's too
evile: *nod*
evile: her daughter is a wonderful child.
SkyeDS: these children give hope for the future
SkyeDS: even if they are outnumbered
evile: *nod*
evile: Cousin B's planning on taking over the world, you know. :P
SkyeDS: brb food
evile: ok
evile: TIm is quiet. ICQ is quiet. We have absolutely NOTHING to do
at work. I think I will try to sneak out early and fake like I
worked through half of lunch.
evile: *waves* see ya tomorrow, hope lunch is yum.
