I got home from work yesterday & there was a tearful-sounding message
from The Rubber Pig on the machine. I did not want to deal with whatever it
was unprepared, so I called Aunt L to see if she knew what was up.
Apparently, Brother A told The Rubber Pig he didn't want to go to the police
academy and The Rubber Pig gave him a choice to do that or leave, so he left.
He drove the van to Lee's parents' house & Trey was going to go to
get it later.
I don't know what Brother A is doing, he hasn't called anyone yet.
The Rubber Pig has Paulie for now. She is taking the dog & the girls & going
to live with her mother in Blanco for a while.
Trey is going home to his parents.
Brother A....? Who knows. Aunt L has visions of sending him back to
Greencastle, or to Montana with Mom. He hasn't had a job in over a
year. Very messed up situation.
BUT...there was/is no bun in the oven *fingers crossed* and so Mom &
[dad] at least won't be dealing with boomerang child with grandkid in
tow. Thank heavens for small favors.
I am sure Brother A is angry & hurt by all of this...but thankfully his
stubbornness will serve him well in this case by (please god) keeping
him from changing his mind and going back to The Rubber Pig.

Yeah, I heard. The Rubber Pig called K/Mom yesterday and she told me about it.
We haven't heard from Brother A. K/Mom is distraught over it. I think he
has dodged a bullet myself.
I agree with you, I hope he doesn't return to her for what ever
reason. As to Aunt L's vision of sending him somewhere, she needs to
stay out of it. Brother A has nothing here in Greencastle in the way of
friends or a job. He is welcome to visit, but he can not stay here at
the house. It's not that I don't care but if he seeks refuge anywhere
he won't deal with the problems at hand. You know what I mean, if you
provide him a safety net it turns into a hammock. Your mom's
situation doesn't allow her to accommodate Brother A at this time, either.
I also am sorry for his pain. Better to find out now then down the
road when the entanglement would be more intense. I hope he is OK. I
think he is embarrassed to talk to any of us and fears an unspoken "I
told you so." If I only knew a way to really help him.

TGIF!
I am still on Cloud 9 from all of yesterday's good
news. I am, of course, sad for Brother A's hurt feelings,
but just so glad that he didn't have to wait for her
to pop a puppy before he picked up the clue phone.
Apparently this all got started when she had his
future all planned out (she told him to go to police
academy) and he said "no"...after all, a good obedient
Jewish wife should NEVER have to hear the word "No"
from her husband...
Thank god/ess. The boy has more sense than I gave him
credit for, and I am also (for once) thankful for his
stubbornness--once he's turned his back on something,
that's IT.
Still looking for that Chinese Orphanage to donate to.
Or maybe I'll just put in a few bux to the Lilith
Fund.

This has been one nutty week. All ups and downs. I'd like some even
keel for a change. :)
Still, all of the ups have been really good news (like Brother A and
The Rubber Pig), and the downs haven't been so bad.
Mary continued to spam me the rest of the afternoon. All kinds of
random stuff; fortunately, none of it was like the horrorscope or the
article about love being a mental disorder.
Seeing Shane tonight. We're going swing dancing. :) I sure hope I
am not a total klutz.
