J-Law:

Jesus. Whatta mess!! I really can't think of a single thing to
say.... except that The Rubber Pig is insane, and you are totally right....
She makes Skye_ds look like Katie Couric.

I was up way past my bedtime, too. Took my friend Helen out to
dinner at Indigo for her bday; barely made it on time (res. at 8:30,
because I had the trainer last night). Only my trainer didn't show,
which is most unlike her.... no idea what happened. Since I was
there and warmed up, I decided to push myself - run at top speed (8
min. mile) for as long as I could stand it, which turned out to be 45
minutes.

And I didn't collapse. I quite enjoyed it actually.... it's good to
change up the pace; after this, my regular run (10 minute mile for an
hour/hour and a half) will be a piece of cake.

In other news, I bought new sheets last night. I have always owned
nice bedding. But these are in a whole other class.... 400 thread
count Egyptian cotton sateen (buttercup yellow), with a lattice
patterned lace inset on the flat sheet and pillowcases. They were
spendy. Even on sale. BUT - I didn't like anything else in the
store, on sale or full price.
The other choices were either too frilly, too plain, or weird colors
(gray?!?). The best part is, I got them in a Queen size, so they
will fit my real bed when I finally get it out of storage. The futon
is a double, but I've got the featherbed which makes it sort of
Queeny.

So, tonight, I am going to give free rein to my lingerie fetish, and
have my wicked way with my boyfriend on $400 sheets (for which I paid
a mere $250).

I am cranky & tired today. Around 10:00 last night,
Brother A & The Rubber Pig called & kept me on the phone until
almost 11. I finally had to just jump in and interrupt
the monologue and say "Look, it's past my bedtime and
I have GOT to get to bed."

I had made them little pendants using Aunt L's little
thumbnail-size photo proofs & glass nuggets. They
called to say how much they liked their little photo
pendants (how could any narcissist NOT!?) and wanted
me to make one for their officiant. The Rubber Pig: "Homemade
gifts are always the best." ("Homemade" makes it sound
like I made them a sock monkey or something...but I
know she was trying to be gracious and unlike UB and
sineater, at least they do thank people for gifts...)

Neither of them let me get in a word edgewise, I was
really needing to ask about Paulie.

She said something about Brother A being a shmuck, and I
said "Yeah, be sure and say ugly things about my
brother in front of me, because I like that" and then
they both backpedaled about how the people at
Exxon call her "the crazy psychotic jewish bitch" and
it's a term of affection (yeahright!), and that's how
she means it about Brother A. I said "well, OK, whatever,
but please don't ever call me an ugly name because it
will just hurt my feelings"

Apparently I also resemble her sister...Carli? or
something, who does not get along with her.

She says she is trying not to prejudge Skye_ds, and I
did my best to assure her and Brother A that Skye_ds has
made a lot of progress and is trying really hard to
make nice with sineater's family (harder than sineater
is at this point, truthfully). And then she said
something about if she heard Skye_ds talking down to
sineater she would have to say something, because sineater is
Brother A's family, and Skye_ds isn't really family--see,
she considers sineater and Skye_ds to be "not really
married" because Skye_ds does not obey sineater. And by
that same token, she's really married to Brother A because
she shut up once when [stepdad] was on the phone with Brother A
and told Brother A to tell The Rubber Pig to shut up. *bwahhaha!*

I said "Well, honey, sineater and Skye_ds have a marriage
license, they own property together, and they've been
addressing each other as 'husband' and 'wife' for more
than 7 years, so in Texas they're married"

"Well, to ME they're not!" The Rubber Pig retorted.
Okay...because The Rubber Pig's word is Law or something,
yeah...

And then went on to say that in HER faith, the woman
obeys God, her father, and her husband, in that order,
so she's going to lay the smackdown on Skye_ds.

"Well, that's not Skye_ds's faith, and that's not her
way," I answered, trying to be tactful. The Rubber Pig wasn't
having any of it. sineater is Brother A's family and Skye_ds
isn't, and that's that. what. EVER.

She threw in lots of silly little yiddish words for
'color', to convince me of her Jewishness.

And more than one mention of her 'devout faith'

bwahahah! Because ALL good Jewish women are married to
one guy and pretending to be married to another guy
and living with both of them. And Trey had NO idea
what a "Get" was/is (a Jewish divorce is called a
"Get") So nobody's buying the 'Jewish' act here.

The Rubber Pig still thinks Mom is coming for most of the
summer, but I talked to Mom Monday night and we are
back to the plan of her & Sister H coming for a week in
July. How completely selfish of The Rubber Pig & Brother A...summer
is the only time Mom & [stepdad] get for each other. How
dare they? (I said this far more tactfully than that,
however.)

Oh, and apparently they are trying to get Trey out of
the house, and 'circulating' more so he can 'expand
his circle'. Okaaay, whatever. And they might all be
coming to the picnic on Sunday.

She went off on this bizarre tangent about how much
she and Brother A have been through and how she has faith
that there are good things ahead, and their lives are
so full of bounty (this after, not 15 minutes before,
Brother A said they called me because they were waiting for
Trey to get home so they could go eat free hotdogs at
Exxon)

It's all so godawful. I'd laugh if I wasn't so pissed
off and sad...

PS: Aunt L says she's specifically asked about Paulie
and Brother A said he's fine, made no mention of him
'tripping' The Rubber Pig & 'knocking down' the children and so
forth. I asked her to please mention Skye_ds's offer of
sanctuary for the dog, anyway...just in case.

about Aunt L, too. We all feel sorry as hell for the

It's gonna be so nice. I can't wait to see him. Shane is my last
thought before I go to sleep, and my first thought when I wake up. I
love this. :)

Elaine is perfectly correct. Has she said this to Aunt L?

The Rubber Pig's whole family thing would be so wonderful turned around on
her, e.g., those kids aren't Brother A's by blood, fob them off on your
relatives, or Trey's relatives for Chrissakes.

As for the religion, The Rubber Pig sounds like a total shrew. I am sure she
disobeys her husband whenever it suits her. And, of course, it
certainly is convenient that her alleged piety doesn't preclude
infidelity and divorcing one man to marry another, and the second
marriage not sanctioned by her church.

Elaine says Aunt L is bringing the kids over this afternoon to swim in
Elaine's neighborhood pool (it's free to members of the community &
guests). Elaine very correctly said that she has lots of questions
but that it won't be appropriate to talk about anything in front of
the children (not like it stops The Rubber Pig, apparently, but...Elaine is a
decent human being and a good parent, unlike some fake-SIL's I could
name...)

I gotta say it's really ODD to be defending UB's marriage and
spirituality to someone.

Say what you will, sineater and Skye_ds have a marriage license, own
property together, and have been calling each other 'husband'
and 'wife' for over 11 years now. And Skye_ds's spirituality says
NOTHING about obedience to spouses. Both of which I very politely
tried to point out. But, no, in the World of The Rubber Pig, Skye_ds and sineater
aren't married. What EVER. jeezus. And I'm sure that's the first
thing she'll announce when she meets them for the first time, too.

Even UB does not deserve that level of insufferable rudeness.
