evile: tgif :) I'm so ready for the 3 day weekend, icky weather & all.
SkyeDS: nods.
SkyeDS: all the eqs decided we didn't want to be stuck at FH in our
tents in the rain so we're all staying home. means more time with
parentals.
evile: I'm sure the parents will be happy about that, even if you
aren't :P
SkyeDS: not unhappy about it, time with parents is a perfectly
acceptable substitute for time with chosen family
SkyeDS: and it makes them happy, which scores me brownie points
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: oingo boingo did this song for Beverly Hills Cop I just love
evile: ? which? I don't think so...
SkyeDS: gratitude I think is the name
SkyeDS: was on the second side of the cassette
evile: yeah, that's a boingo sonng, I just don't remember it from the
movie.
SkyeDS: I didn't remember it in the movie, but I do have the
soundtrack and I play it into the ground
SkyeDS: the cd player/tape player is always the first thing to go out
on any vehicle I buy, it sucks
evile: wow. Lots of Boingo in teh movies I didn't know about .

learn somethin' new every day.
SkyeDS: if I'm not mistaken I think Elfman may have done the ST to
Sleepy Hollow.
evile: wouldn't surprise me. Elfman and Burton work together a lot.
SkyeDS: Elfman did Scissorhands too no?
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: to me, that is the essence of Gothic.
SkyeDS: I don't remember their id, but one of the members of the
polyfi2 list on yahoo has this as their signature: Ancient Goth =
sacked Roman Empire / Modern Goth = vegetarian pretending to be a
vampire
evile: *laff*
SkyeDS: get tired of telling people I'm not a Goth, Goth is not
synonymous with Rennie, nor Pagan. I've always worn black, I've
always enjoyed visits to graveyards. (long before being a practicing
witch or a rennie)
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: people are so fond of their labels. I don't like labels,
they pigeonhole me.
SkyeDS: besides, they don't fit
SkyeDS: most pagans are liberal, I'm not
SkyeDS: most conservatives are christian, I'm not
SkyeDS: I fit neither the republican nor the democrat labels at all.
evile: labels say more about the person applying the label.
SkyeDS: people just assume things come with the label
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: they make assumptions about individual poly's, pagans or
rennie's because of what the majority of the subcultures tend to
believe, and I don't fit any of that.
SkyeDS: I am weirder than all of my weirdo friends.
evile: heh.
SkyeDS: I believe I may actually be considered a fringe lunatic wacko
nut by the mainstream.
evile: I'm wierder than some, not as wierd as others, and gradually
learning how to deal with unwanted assumptions. It's tough going at
times.
SkyeDS: I had a friend who was a conservative military pagan,
Alexandrian Wicca High Priest
SkyeDS: he kept asking me if it wasn't true that Stregheria was a
Left Hand Path
SkyeDS: I got tired of that after having the exact same discussion
about half a dozen times
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: he acquired this assumption so he says because the book of
ways passed down by the alexandrian tradition says so.
evile: silly.
SkyeDS: oh. well. if your book of ways says so, obviously it
outranks my own book.
SkyeDS: excuse me, theirs is a book of shadows, ours is a book of
ways (nitpick)
evile: *nod*
SkyeDS: think your mom will expect you to work plans more around her
now that the weather has turned?
evile: *shrug*
evile: I have no idea. She took my plans for Saturday and Sunday
as "i'm busy, I can't see you at all"... so who knows.
SkyeDS: Mom and Dad were too tired to go anywhere last night so we
ordered room service. And it was good too, overpriced, of course
evile: *nod* room service usually is, but it's kind of fun to do a
lttle in-room picnic :)
SkyeDS: Mom's spring break is the week before Gulf War, so GW will be
preceded by a visit, no doubt.
SkyeDS: good that it isn't the same week
evile: yeah.
evile: I took off March 25th and 28th. Haven't decided what I'm doing
with them yet, but I took them off.
SkyeDS: off = good :)
evile: yup. I figure if nothing else I can have a mental health
weekend.
SkyeDS: nods
evile: I do want to go to west TX, but New Orleans is also calling my
name...March is a good time for either one, I think.
SkyeDS: mmm NOLA
evile: I got a copy of the tulane alum mag with lists of restaurants.
*sigh*
evile: If I ever want to find someone, I will use whatever service
Tulane uses to track their alums. I've never filled out a
subscription card or change of address, and they've followed me
pretty much since I dropped out.
evile: Did some good shopping w/Aunt L & Mom after work yesterday. I
found a scarf to use on my turban experiment & a little hair clippy
thing that will look good with it :)
SkyeDS: retail therapy :D
evile: since my plans for tomorrow went to crap due to weather, I may
end up shopping some more. I might want long-ish silver fingernails.
SkyeDS: longish nails <drool>
SkyeDS: I really enjoyed the black nails I wore as catwoman that one
halloween
evile: *nod*
evile: I'll be looking for some that are short enough that I can
drive & stuff...but yeah.
evile: I am having a computer problem, may go offline in a sec...brb,
if that happens.
evile: guess not.
evile: Sometimes I get an error box tha says "microsoft internet
explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." ....when I click OK, it will close all the
web stuff not just my browser window. This time I clicked OK and it
was fine. Wierd.
evile: (personally, I don't think they're at all sorry.)
SkyeDS: LOL I think not
evile: If they actually cared, they've had plenty of time to develop
a more high quality product.
SkyeDS: time to go home soon at any rate
evile: yup. 3 minutes :)
evile: well, it's go-time. I'm going to go home and take a nap!
SkyeDS: wind to your wings :)
evile: *hugs* Have fun with your folks :)
